00:01how's everyone doing good morning good morning good morning it's another one man another one
00:07man welcome back to the morning roasted podcast this is your host caleb thompson
00:11and i'm just waking up man we shoot these at probably five o'clock uh our five or six o
00:18'clock
00:18every uh every saturday morning but sometimes i'm up at two or three o'clock in the morning
00:23man prepping things for the next day or the next week so excuse me my voice is kind of kind
00:32of raspy
00:34i sound like a rancher or or a truck driver it's all good so kind of like my voice like
00:43this
00:43yeah um kind of clink clint eastwood-y you know but man welcome back to the morning roasted podcast
00:51man it's your host caleb thompson and uh this is the place we make your mornings matter the most
00:57uh we're coming live from new york city as we always do man hope everyone's having a great
01:01morning out there i hope you woke up this morning man uh with a heart full of gratefulness man just
01:06thanking god for waking you up somebody did not wake up this morning man just thanking god man for
01:11everything some people may say man i don't have nothing thank god for man just man just have a
01:16heart of gratitude man towards towards life man you are alive man you have another day to get things
01:23get things right and you can timeline jump man you want to switch the timeline of your life is just
01:30made with one simple decision man what you want to do with your life so excuse me guys so today
01:43we're
01:43going to be talking about the discipline of self-respect now a lot of people don't really
01:49a lot of people respect other people as a man especially with the yes i come from a southern
01:54background so i'll always remember to say yes sir no sir yes ma'am no ma'am things like that
02:00you
02:00respect other people especially elders especially uh your uh boss especially like uh you know people who
02:10let's say where respect is is due or honor is due give it you know but at the same time
02:15you need to
02:15have some type of self-respect when you have self-respect it helps you to set boundaries it helps
02:21you to set boundaries and obviously we see the discipline of self-respect because there will be
02:25some type of situations where you might uh you might be willing to compromise your self-respect just
02:32to get more money or just to have a better job or just to you know get a better car
02:37just to have
02:38more money you know i don't know why i said have more money twice because maybe that was a major
02:42one
02:42why people lower or they compromise on self-respect some people self-respect helps you to come up with
02:49boundaries say okay yeah i'm gonna go this far but i'm not gonna go over this point because i have
02:55respect for myself you know what i mean and a lot of people don't really care they feel like the
02:59world
02:59is so oppressive the world is just so bad you it's a doggy dog world you have to do whatever
03:04you have to
03:04do to get what you have to get but you will lose pieces and chunks of your soul if you
03:09do not
03:09respect yourself but by the time the world is done with you and you wake up i don't care if
03:14you wake
03:15up in a high-rise building with a ferrari parked outside when you wake up to the reality and become
03:20conscious of everything that you have and it's worn off the feeling it's worn off yeah you may be able
03:25to take any trip you want to be able to take the feeling this one off you're going to be
03:29soulless you're
03:29going to feel like man like how did i get here and you know and how you're going to look
03:35back on
03:35how you got there and what things and then shoot sometimes you might compare yourself with someone
03:39else who didn't have to do all those things to get there it's just because of your perspective you
03:43compromise or or um uh just basically hand it over your self-respect you know uh discard it your
03:53self-respect in order to have certain material things that you don't have to do man there's a lot of
03:58people that really feel like man you got to sell your soul to be rich be famous thing like that
04:01man i'll serve the lord jesus christ and i'm telling you i'm rich i don't have to i don't have
04:07to uh i
04:07don't have to go out here and do any rituals i don't have to go out here and manipulate uh
04:13any way
04:14that i'm manipulating something if i'm breaking off any negativity off my day if i'm saying if i'm
04:20speaking affirmation saying i'm rich i'm rich um because of the lord jesus christ i would use my money
04:26for good to be able to be a light into the world things like so that way i'm manipulating the
04:32situation breaking off every negative word or black magic spoken over my my life but other than that
04:38you know i'm not out here you don't have to i'm telling you right now you can live life you
04:43want
04:43to live you can be rich you can be famous you could be a celebrity in the spiritual realm and
04:48in the
04:48natural realm if you serve god with all your heart if you have a purity of heart and you serve
04:52god god
04:53will bless you to the point but yeah of course you have to go through a process people break down
04:58during the process they feel like god is taking too long and this is not even a christian show this
05:03is just you know i'm just giving you guys some tips but one thing i want one one let you
05:10know guys
05:11know do not compromise having self-respect because a lot of people don't respect you unless you respect
05:17yourself so i'm going to give you three talk points here we're not going to make this long we're just
05:21going to make this real quick but talk point number one i shall respect self-respect through
05:26my daily choices so one thing i've learned that self-respect isn't just something i feel you know
05:32it's something i practice every day i respect myself every day rather it's the way that way that i clean
05:37my house i respect myself enough to get up and make sure i'm in a clean environment i respect myself
05:41enough to get up and make sure that i dress a certain way to make sure that i'm shaved you
05:46know what i
05:46mean that's respecting yourself you know what i mean you don't have to wait some people
05:50before they shave they have to wait till they get uh have time to go to the barber shop man
05:55sometimes you might need to get up you have to be at work at five you may have to get
05:58up at three
05:59or 330 and shave shave yourself you know what i mean you sometimes you're like man i should have went
06:03to the barber yesterday don't wait for everybody to do everything and say man yeah you're going to
06:08certain places looking to a certain place people don't respect you but you keep yourself clean keep
06:12yourself nice and sharp you're not saying you're doing it for anyone else this is called having
06:17self-respect self-respect bring self-confidence you know i'm gonna tell you this self-awareness
06:23brings uh self-respect and self-respect bring self-confidence you know what i mean i mean
06:30confidence in yourself and your abilities and your god-given talents that god has given you
06:34i'm not talking about in an egotistical way where you know what i mean there's a there's a thin line
06:39between confidence and pride you know so you have to be careful to not step into pride even though you
06:44are
06:45uh blessed even though you are wealthy even though you are respected even though you are
06:49influential you want to make sure that you stay in a place of humility uh with confidence you know
06:54what i'm saying having confidence in who you are what god has blessed you with and that you're striving
06:58to continue to develop uh because it could develop and continue to add more value to yourself but be
07:06confident in who you were created to be not taking the gifts the talents and the things that you have
07:13looking at them as if they are uh like to turn to egotistical and say man you know what man
07:20i'm i
07:21got this i got this and you don't you don't but you have to understand it came from somewhere
07:24you know what i mean it all started from you know you waking up this morning so it all goes
07:30back to
07:31god if god allowed you to wake up this morning that's what that's the source of why you even have
07:36the opportunity to do anything so but the way i manage my time energy and habits
07:42it basically reflects like uh you know how i value myself so you know that's how i spend my time
07:49you know i don't just waste time and sometimes i make uh you know just certain things that i do
07:54but
07:54man you can expect confidence to grow if your actions constantly go against your own standards so
08:00you can't expect your you can't expect to walk around in confidence if if you're saying that i'm a
08:06i'm a i'm i'm a woman that needs to be respected by men but you're still dressed a certain type
08:13of
08:13way you're still going to certain places not saying you can't go to nice places not saying you can't go
08:18to nice elegant places and you can put on a sexy dress i'm not saying that but i'm saying when
08:23you're
08:23in a place you are you are a uh uh a surgeon but you're in a place you you're at
08:32uh uh i didn't say
08:34but you're in places that you know you're not supposed to be with all these uh these uh college
08:39kids trying to fit in just as sexy but you have already outgrown certain some of these areas you
08:45need to be in more of an elegant place to and then you wonder why you can't get in the
08:49way yeah you
08:49you you're dating kids you know you're dating someone who who who you know trying to stay cool
08:56you know what i mean but you've already grown out of that professionally wise and should have mentally
09:00so i'm just saying there's a certain place that you know you shouldn't go and certain things that
09:05you shouldn't do and uh you know you can't expect your confidence to grow if you're you know your
09:09actions just constantly they just go against your own standards man your standards have to change
09:14as you continue to grow so self-respect is built through consistency not occasional motivation so
09:21uh it's built through consistency man now you have to do this every day you have to respect
09:27yourself every day before you like i say before you think for someone else to respect you you have
09:32to say what is something about myself that i can fix if i was someone else on the outside looking
09:38in
09:38and i said what makes me respect this person or what can gain me more respect from from myself
09:45so there's some things that i do so sometimes i make um just simple things man just just the simplest
09:53things man i'm just like man that is not respect that is not respect worthy i don't care what it
09:58is i'm after you shave wipe the hair out of the sink don't leave it in there you know what
10:02i mean just
10:02those little things that you don't feel like doing and you can call the cleaner to do it take the
10:07time
10:07to do those little bitty things or just you know what i mean anything man it's just anything man to
10:14make
10:14sure uh that you develop self-respect man and and develop skills that um that seem minuscule and
10:22seem uh unnoticeable that other people will notice but you naturally do it because you respect yourself
10:28to start point number two i protect my peace by setting boundaries man i can't say this enough you
10:34cannot be connected to everyone i'm going to tell you this right now you cannot be connected to everyone
10:40man there's been plenty of people i connected with i didn't know that they were doing certain types of
10:44witchcraft or anything you know what i mean when people can see man that you're uh either uh people
10:51can see either that you're great or that you are headed in the direction of greatness or that you have
10:56some type of uh spirit of abundance on you man i've connected to a a guy just took his number
11:02down
11:03just having someone's number in your in your phone can connect the energetic core and i kept feeling
11:08like something pulling on me like pulling on my finances knowing me and i and then once i
11:13disconnected that number or i deleted that number it stopped so sometimes people can connect to you
11:19through social media through uh becoming your friend on facebook connecting uh to you because
11:24that's the invitation you are invitating that person into your energy by uh taking a taking a action
11:32into uh putting their name in their phone putting that number in your phone and then saving it so
11:37you're basically giving them legal access spiritual access and then the same thing you see someone that
11:42sends you a friend request you view the profile they may look good you know what i mean you view
11:46the
11:46profile and then all of a sudden then you accept that person into your energy it looks like a um
11:51a
11:52harmless thing but you are allowing that person to connect to you there are certain times where i post
11:58certain things online and nine times out of ten uh it's and i feel all this in a negative energy
12:05from certain play i will i will post like on instagram and i will wait you know wait about 30
12:10minutes and
12:10see you can feel certain energies but if you post on linkedin you feel heavy negative energy from that
12:17that means there's someone you connected with or someone that can look at your profile and it's in a
12:22negative energy because they're they're mad at what you post and things like that so you
12:25have to protect your peace by setting boundaries don't be connected to everyone man pray or whatever
12:30you do to figure out man exactly who you're dealing with because no everybody's not who they say they
12:35are so man i've i've realized that man just saying yes to uh everything can you know mean saying no
12:44to
12:44yourself so you have to recognize that too and i sell boundaries to protect my uh mental emotional and
12:50spiritual well-being as i just talked about but emotional as well some people drain you you have to
12:55have a conversation with someone and leave drain or someone will dump all their problems on you feel
12:59light now walk off so instead of alchemizing their problems the energy that's attacking them
13:05they'll dump it on you it's okay to be there for people and allow them to discuss certain situations
13:10with you but to when it gets to the point where they dump all of their uh their baggage on
13:15you and all
13:16that negative energy because you're sitting there trying to be a good friend and listen and then
13:19turn around and they leave relieved now if you are not a person that's able to bear that type of
13:24weight
13:24or you wasn't don't have the spiritual capacity to bear the burdens of another person you don't you
13:30don't need to uh sit there and listen to that you can tell them man a they need to start
13:36to try to
13:36develop the um the skill of alchemy whatever they go through they can learn how to alchemize that and
13:42turn and use it to their advantage but uh you teach people how to treat you by what you tolerate
13:49self-respect sometimes means walking away from what drains your peace man that is so true man i have
13:56walked away from some situations i walked away from some situations and let me tell you what
14:01your situation sometimes won't don't want to let you go you know you have a lot of people in your
14:07life
14:07man some people they mistreat you uh mistreat you and you sit there and you you be patient with them
14:12uh whether this is business-wise employee-wise whether this is family and and you'll sit there
14:18and you'll be patient with these people and then get to a point where you just like man i'm i'm
14:22not
14:22going to tolerate it anymore you walk away and you then now you're the villain because they can't
14:26control you they can't dump all the baggage they can't lie on you like they uh oh like they wanted
14:32want to so i'll tell you what you have to leave these people behind and you got to get away
14:38from
14:38things that will drain your peace you have to move forward so and number three is i hold myself
14:45accountable instead of making excuses this is a big one accountability man account of oh my god you
14:52were never in let me put it like this you were never in your life be an authentic a truly
14:59genuinely
15:00authentic person if you do not have accountability accountability is the gateway to authenticity
15:08you know what i mean the two ways this is a a meeting and i'm not talking about i'm not
15:13talking
15:13about drinking i was saying accountability and authenticity are twin brothers you know what i mean
15:20twin sisters they are best friends they are you know they are kobe and shack you know what i mean
15:27but
15:29accountability not only for accountability for every area of your life and accountability for
15:34your mistakes you know why a lot of people cannot level up or go to the next level they're scared
15:38about what people are going to say so they're so scared about what someone else is going to say
15:42that they won't even hold themselves they will lie lie lie themselves out of the situation instead of
15:47just being accountable and say you know what yeah i may have made that mistake but you don't have a
15:51heaven or hell to put me in i made that mistake but i've already dealt with it i've already came
15:56to
15:56terms within myself and held myself accountable and made and put up parameters and uh and so i i
16:04won't make the same mistakes or i'm learning my triggers so that i won't make the same mistake but
16:09some people some people don't know how to be accountable because they're just scared of what
16:13other people going to think and when you cannot hold yourself accountable for what you like what you
16:17want to do how you do it when you do it or whatever you're doing if you cannot hold yourself
16:21accountable then you will never be authentic the if you want to be locked out of authenticity you
16:27care about what other people think about you you allow that hate you allow that fakeness a lot of
16:32people who's judging you they don't even know themselves they don't even know themselves they
16:37don't if you tell them okay name me three types of music you like you know so you you can
16:43really
16:43find out who a narcissist is or a fake but they'll say what kind of music do you like they'll
16:47flip the
16:47situation around this oh okay yeah i like those too i like they're looking for ideas and suggestions
16:52they don't even know who they are so you have to do not worry about anybody in this world we
16:56all
16:56have one life to live the average lifespan of a person is man probably 70 years you know what i
17:04mean
17:04at least at least 70 years that's the average lifespan of a person i'm 30 i'm 37 years old i've
17:12already lived half of that so i got 30 probably 30 30 37 35 years left on this earth hopefully
17:19longer
17:20by the grace of god but what i'm saying now if if you if you in the next 70 years
17:26everybody that's on
17:27this earth right now is going to be dead you know everybody you can have a brand new like i
17:33said you
17:33can have a newborn that was just born today right now six o'clock in the morning 70 years from
17:39now that
17:39child if it's just not by the grace of god the average lifespan is 70 years that child would
17:44probably uh deceased uh when grew up its entire life would be deceased everybody that's on this
17:50earth right now at this current moment will be dead within the next 50 to 70 years and there'll be
17:55a
17:55new generation that rises up and takes our place so if they if you have that short amount of time
18:01you know what i mean why wait and worry about what everybody else has to think nobody's going to be
18:06alive within the next i'm like i said i'm 37 years old i'm 37 years old within the next probably
18:1220
18:12years a lot of people that i've known elders or other people man they won't even be here on this
18:17earth you know what i mean so why am i going to worry about what another person says they need
18:20to worry
18:20about what they need to do with their life and how they need to figure out their life and live
18:24the
18:25life that they need to live because they don't have that much time left you have no reason being 50
18:2960
18:29years old trying to destroy or strategically do something to someone and you probably only have
18:3715 years left you have 15 years left of your life and you're going to use it being bitter and
18:42attacking
18:42and being angry at other people you need to get on the ball you need to start planning trips you
18:46need
18:46to start saving money you need to scratch some stuff off of your bucket list before you leave this earth
18:51and i hope one of those things is giving your life to lord jesus christ yeah so thank you guys
18:56for
18:56tuning in i know like i said uh i know this is not a christian podcast but you know we
19:02do talk
19:02about manifestation and one way to manifest man is having a spiritual backing having a spiritual
19:06backing if not then those things can be stolen you know during manifestation or that energy can be
19:11siphoned from you without the correct uh protection so so i've learned that uh discipline
19:17accountability is a form of self-respect i stopped making excuses for behaviors that hold me back from
19:22growth that's true and i'm dealing with something right now in this uh uh in conflict man like
19:26should i should i not so you know i have to take accountability for that i have to uh you
19:31know
19:31develop the strength and the discipline to move forward and get get over certain things you can't
19:37become your best self while avoiding responsibility for your actions the more you honor your commitments
19:43to yourself the stronger your self-respect comes so people are going to lie to you out here in this
19:49world the only thing i ask is that you do not lie to yourself you know sometimes you you you
19:54you judge
19:54some people judge other people so harshly but they don't never judge themselves they don't never
19:59they don't never you know uh they don't never hold themselves accountable you'll say man i mean uh
20:04man cheryl didn't turn in the report you know it didn't meet the deadline but the last you know
20:09what i'm saying but you didn't you know you you didn't do what you were supposed to do you're supposed
20:13to do uh two a days you know what i mean you it was lag day you didn't work out
20:17this morning
20:17you you you sometimes you won't let anyone you'll let uh everyone you'll keep everyone on the hook
20:24but yourself you know what i mean the things that you were supposed to do you never did but you're
20:28you were sure make someone feel guilty about making a mistake or something that they did you know what
20:33i mean put yourself on the hook you know hold yourself accountable and make sure but i and this is
20:38one thing that keeps coming back to mind you cannot walk in genuinely let me put it like this the
20:44highest
20:44form of vibration you wonder you ever been around somebody that vibrates at a higher level
20:48you know why they vibrate because people think what what is the highest vibration on this earth
20:54people think it's love oh genuine pure love man you know uh you know having genuine pure love that
21:00you're not expecting anything from anyone that is the highest vibration to truly love people with a
21:05pure heart i'm gonna tell you what no it's not love is not the highest vibration on this earth you
21:11have
21:11different levels of vibrations which are you know hate uh grief love joy peace you know peace is not
21:18having being uh in complete uh peace is still not the highest vibration guess what the highest vibration
21:25is to have you to operate at the highest level of of vibration it's authenticity scientist has proven
21:33that art being truly authentic to who you are is the highest vibration of a person walking this earth
21:40so and you cannot be like i said you cannot be authentic if you don't hold yourself accountable
21:45if you don't hold yourself accountable that means you're jumping around who who's over over here around
21:50these people you're one person over here you're one person and there's a difference between being able
21:56to relate and identify with certain uh social groups where you know how to uh how to work the room
22:03in
22:03those different social groups but you're still the same person you know what i'm saying i don't care if i'm
22:08with my with my uh uh uh black friends here i still i'm still a person that likes rock music
22:14you know
22:15what i'm saying i don't care if i'm with uh my you know my white colleagues over here you know
22:19white
22:19friends over here i still something i still like jazz i still do certain things you know what i mean
22:24i still
22:24say certain words i'm not changing who i am but i do need i you do need to understand who
22:29you're
22:29talking who you're talking to and being able to you know not work the room and be able to observe
22:34and to discern who you're talking to so but that's not that's that's not code switching you know i
22:40mean you are still in your authentic self because that's truly who you are you are a person that's
22:44versatile you are a person that's not intentionally switching your identity to try to fit in so it all
22:51comes with the intention and the authenticity of a person but man you just not tuning in man this
22:56morning roasted podcast it's the place we make your mornings matter the most we're coming live from new
23:00york city man today's episode was the discipline of self-respect man we catch you guys back here
23:05next saturday 6 a.m easy standard time peace
