00:00How's everyone doing? Welcome back to the Morning Roasted Podcast.
00:04This is your host Caleb Thompson and we are coming live from New York City as we always do.
00:09Man, I hope everyone's having a great morning out there.
00:11Man, I always tell individuals, man, that you have to get up, say those affirmations, man,
00:16because if you do not speak over yourself, someone else will be trying to influence your day.
00:22Whether it's, you know, the news, your outlook on life, man.
00:26Whether it's a person that you're with, maybe it's a friend, someone will always have something to say.
00:31So when you wake up in the morning, the first thing you need to do is you need to have
00:36a set of affirmations.
00:37Whether they obtain scripture or whether they obtain some type of positive, I don't want to say enchantment,
00:48but some positive routine where you speak to yourself, man,
00:53and you start to call those things that are not as if they are.
00:57You know, wherever you want to go in life, whatever you want to do,
00:59you have to already be at that place, at that particular place.
01:02So you always want to make sure that you are aiming towards and working towards where you want to be.
01:09So today's episode is, this is going to be something good too, man.
01:13And it's, and I'm going to give you an example how this is fact checked.
01:21This is fact checked. You can probably look up any scientific document.
01:25You can probably look up any video or anything that anyone in psychology has ever,
01:31or anyone that's ever studied the mind or human nature, they could back these facts up.
01:37So this episode is going to be called What You Feed Your Mind Matters.
01:41If you just tune it in, I know we didn't do the intro properly,
01:44but this is the Morning Roaster Podcast.
01:46This is the place where we make your mornings matter the most.
01:48It's me, your host, Caleb Thompson.
01:50We're coming live from New York City, like I say, as we always do,
01:53because that's where this podcast was birthed.
01:56But I'm going to give you three talk points here.
01:58We're not going to try to make it that long,
01:59but I'm going to give you three talk points here.
02:01And we're just talking about What You Feed Your Mind Matters.
02:04And I first of all, I want to start off and say this.
02:06Without me even having to go through these talk points,
02:10I really want you to understand some that
02:11that if you just watch the news,
02:15it can have a negative effect or outlook on,
02:18or, you know, pervert your perspective.
02:26It can pervert your perspective on life
02:28and on things that you really want to,
02:31or how, even just, even how you've seen things.
02:34So this is what we're going to do.
02:37So I'm going to give you these three talk points
02:39and we're just going to move through it like that.
02:42So one thing I've learned is that my mind
02:44is constantly influenced by what I consume.
02:47And I want you to know yours is too.
02:48Whatever you consume, if you're sitting there,
02:49you're talking about looking at mergers and acquisitions.
02:52If you're sitting there every day
02:53and you're thinking, you're watching Jerry Springer, Mari.
02:56Now I'm kind of an older person, I'm not that old,
02:59but that was my era growing up.
03:00Jerry Springer, Mari, Steve, and stuff like that.
03:04But I knew people that consumed that daily,
03:08you know, daily watching the gossip,
03:11watching the, you know, the fights and things like that.
03:14And that is who they became.
03:16What you consume is what you will become.
03:19So even if you listen to a certain song,
03:22a certain song also changes your perspective and outlook
03:26and even your energy aligns with those things that you consume.
03:29So that is something that you really need to understand.
03:31So the books I read, the conversations,
03:34you know, that I have and the content I watch,
03:37even on Instagram, YouTube, anything that I watch
03:41and the thoughts I repeat all contribute to how I see the world.
03:45You know, while there's one person who's saying that I can't get ahead
03:48and then there's another person saying that I can do all things,
03:51I'm not limited by anything.
03:53The only thing I'm limited by is my mind.
03:55You know why?
03:55That's because of their perspective.
03:58Their perspective is shaped by, yeah,
04:00wants and not really just your environment
04:02because you can live in an environment that really has a different outlook.
04:06You can live in an environment that has a different outlook,
04:08but that doesn't mean that you have to adopt that ideology
04:11or ideology of the way that a person thinks.
04:14Now, it can try to creep in and, like I say,
04:18try to, you know, twist your perspective on life.
04:21Now, you do really need to, no matter what atmosphere,
04:24what environment that you are in,
04:26you do need to study that atmosphere
04:27so you can know how to move
04:29and what to do and what not to do.
04:31A lot of people who were born in a bad family,
04:33you know what I mean?
04:34You know, when they had kids, it's like,
04:35man, I'm just not going to raise my kids like that
04:37because they understood something.
04:38So it didn't affect the way that they sing things.
04:41A lot of times you are in places and environments
04:43to really try to help you to understand
04:45what you like and what you don't like.
04:47You know, like I always tell people this,
04:48you'll never know if you like chocolate cake or not
04:50until you tasted it.
04:51So sometimes these environments are meant to shape you.
04:54So, but like I said, man, the books I read,
04:56the conversations and everything that I have,
04:58man, what happens is, is that, you know,
05:00they shape how I see the world.
05:02You know, there's always one person
05:04that can go through a situation
05:05and when they go through that situation,
05:07you know what?
05:07They're going to be like,
05:08oh man, life is over.
05:09There's another person
05:10that's going to go through a situation,
05:11but because of what they have consumed,
05:13because of what they have, you know,
05:17been a part of, you know what I'm saying?
05:19Not really just been a part of,
05:20but because of all the books,
05:22the contents and the things that they are naturally,
05:24you're always going to attract things that you are.
05:26So you can expect someone to not be wealthy
05:30if they've created the value
05:32and created the outlook and the perspective
05:35and shifted their mindset to a point
05:37where they're thinking on that level.
05:40You know, you're eventually, you know,
05:41you're going to have to go through your own process,
05:43but eventually you're going to attract that to you.
05:45There's going to be stomach blocks
05:46and things that, you know,
05:48God and the universe will test you on
05:49before you get it.
05:51But that's just to shape you that once you get it,
05:53it won't be easily taken from you,
05:55but it shapes the way that you see the world.
05:58So, man, even research on neuroplasticity,
06:03I don't know if I said that right,
06:04but neuroplasticity.
06:06No, so research on that shows
06:08that the brain changes and adapts
06:10based on repeated experiences
06:11and mental patterns.
06:14So meaning what we repeatedly expose ourselves to
06:16can strengthen certain ways of thinking.
06:18So if I'm always,
06:20if someone is always telling someone
06:21that you're never going to make it,
06:22you're not,
06:23if that person adopts that outlook of life
06:26or that perspective of life,
06:27or if they're always hearing it,
06:28it's easier for them to be perverted,
06:31their perspective to be perverted by that saying.
06:35So that's why, you know,
06:36anybody can say anything,
06:37but it's what you say about yourself.
06:39So you really need to get to a place
06:42and this is research.
06:43You know, this is a credible source
06:48that's coming from neuroplasticity,
06:52you know, that it is a credible source
06:54that has these,
06:56that has these documents,
06:58that has these research papers.
07:00And this is research that these individuals
07:02have made as their lifelong work,
07:04that if you repeat something more times,
07:07it will strengthen your belief in that.
07:10Have you ever had someone that was growing up
07:11and they'll say, man, all rich people are mean
07:15or all rich people have an ego or something?
07:17I'm gonna tell you what,
07:18not all rich people think the same way.
07:20Not all rich people,
07:21a lot of people that get to that point in life
07:23of where they have become not only comfortable,
07:26but wealthy and being able to be,
07:29not only just be a part of society,
07:30but also being able to contribute in a large way
07:34that you don't know how many times they will use,
07:37backstab, how many times people try to get over on them,
07:39all these things.
07:40And that creates a certain version of a person
07:42that is not easily swayed by crocodile tears.
07:45It's not easily swayed by certain aspects of life.
07:50You know what I mean?
07:52But if I consistently, me, myself,
07:54just, man, continue to feed my mind
07:57like negativity, fear, doubt,
07:58those patterns become stronger.
08:00If I feed it growth, learning, and possibility,
08:02those patterns grow instead.
08:05So it's always, man,
08:06it's not like the yin and the yang,
08:08but do you ever have the angel on your shoulder
08:10and the devil on your shoulder?
08:11That is the same way.
08:17Man, I'm gonna put it like this, man.
08:18A lot of people wonder why they can't get ahead.
08:20You can't get ahead because your mindset
08:22is not shifted to the person you're supposed to be.
08:25Yeah, you might be able to make a million dollars,
08:28but you're gonna blow it all and lose it
08:29because you haven't developed a mindset
08:30that can help that money grow
08:32or pass it down to the next generation.
08:34So, but if you continually feed yourself fear,
08:38negativity, doubt, you know what I'm saying?
08:40Those patterns will become stronger.
08:42It would be harder for a person
08:43to kind of try to tell you.
08:45It'll be harder for a person to say,
08:46man, man, I want you to believe in this.
08:47I want you to believe in this.
08:48Man, we can go far.
08:49And that's why it's hard to see the potential
08:51that's in the person,
08:52but they don't really give out that output
08:55put that you see in them.
08:57You know why?
08:57Because they can see it for themselves.
08:58So that's something that you're gonna have to understand
09:02when it comes to the neuroscience
09:05of a person's mindset.
09:07So number two, your environment and relationships
09:10influence your mindset.
09:11That's absolutely true
09:12because it's all about energy.
09:14Your energy, the energy around you
09:16can try to suppress.
09:17You ever heard someone say,
09:18dim your light?
09:19The energy around you can try to suppress
09:21the way that you, your outlook on life.
09:24You know, if you have a lot of people saying,
09:25man, you know what I mean?
09:26No one ever makes it out of here.
09:27No one's ever gonna be big in this place.
09:30Then what that does is,
09:31it's not really those words or that person.
09:33They embody and carry that energy of negativity
09:36and they try to suppress or constrict you
09:40from moving forward in life.
09:41So I've personally realized that, you know,
09:44that the people around me have a greater impact
09:46on my mindset than I once saw before.
09:48And that's the same thing for you.
09:50You have to, a lot of times I'm isolated.
09:52You know why I'm isolated?
09:53It's because I can operate within my own energy.
09:57I'm isolated, you know, I'm isolated.
09:59And sometimes, you know, people will try to isolate you
10:01and push you away from people.
10:02But that is the point and that is the process
10:05where you are going to have your greatest impact.
10:08You have your greatest impact in places where,
10:13not, what I mean greatest impact,
10:14I mean the greatest impact on yourself.
10:16And then what you do is by developing yourself
10:19and developing certain aspects of your life
10:21and really understanding the outlook on certain things.
10:25But, you know, first you have to do the shadow work.
10:27You have to get to know yourself.
10:29You have to get to understand what you like
10:30and what you dislike and things of that sort.
10:32And then you will be able to, you know,
10:35go out and share that with the world.
10:36You don't want to go out prematurely.
10:38So isolation is necessary.
10:40It's necessary for a person
10:42to really get to know themselves.
10:43It's really necessary for you
10:45to really understand what you want to do
10:46and what you want to take to the next level.
10:48So it's really necessary.
10:50But the attitudes, emotions, beliefs
10:52we regularly encounter can influence how we think,
10:56how we feel, and how we behave.
10:57It's just true, man.
10:58The things that you, you're always angry,
11:01it's going to affect the way you think.
11:04You know what I mean?
11:04If you're always mad,
11:05you're always pissed off at the wrong things.
11:06A lot of people, man, make,
11:08these are the people that not only are not insecure,
11:11but they're lazy.
11:12A lot of people, they'll put,
11:14they'll talk about,
11:15I've heard this,
11:15and I'm African-American myself,
11:17but people say,
11:18oh, the way, man, this,
11:19and this person, that person, this person,
11:21man, you can say all that you want to,
11:22but at the end of the day,
11:23you still have to put the work in.
11:25You still have to do whatever you have to do
11:26to move your life forward and get things done.
11:28So research,
11:29now we've been talking about research
11:31and the reason why I wanted to put research in here
11:34because I want it to be a credible source.
11:37So research, man,
11:38maybe I might give you some links at the end.
11:40We might give you a couple of links
11:41and you can probably, you know,
11:43you do whatever you need to do,
11:44but research shows that social connection
11:47and social influence play important roles
11:52in mental well-being, behavior, and decision-making.
11:55And if you've heard of the crabs in the bucket effect,
11:58that is still true,
11:59but it's still true on the other end.
12:02A lot of people are competing at the bottom.
12:03Everybody's collaborating at the top,
12:05but your mindset has to get you to that point.
12:08There's always going to be some type of transition.
12:09When you're moving out of a lower thinking mindset
12:13and you're transitioning,
12:14that's the isolation period.
12:16That's the point where you have to build your value.
12:17You have to build your vocabulary.
12:18You have to build your perspective,
12:21your outlook on life.
12:22You're going to have to watch things
12:23and see people win and be influenced by it
12:25and not be jealous by it.
12:26That's another test of the universe
12:27or another energetic test to move you to the next level.
12:31So research shows that social connection
12:34and social influence play an important role.
12:36But that's why me, myself, man,
12:38I have to be intentional who I listen to, man,
12:42who I learn from,
12:43what environments I place myself in.
12:44And sometimes you really don't have a choice.
12:48If you haven't broken out into financial freedom
12:51where you could move where you want to move,
12:55go where you want to go,
12:56do what you want to do,
12:57if you haven't broken out of those limitations
13:00where you are really free,
13:02not just financially free,
13:03but mentally free,
13:05you know, you can do certain things.
13:06That is the goal to become financially free.
13:09You don't have to worry about food stamps.
13:11You don't have to worry about getting a handout.
13:13You know, you might have to get a loan here and there
13:14and use that money or use that debt
13:16in order to create more wealth
13:18and then pay that back
13:19or borrow on that and borrow on that
13:21or borrow till you die.
13:22I know that's another method
13:23of creating generational wealth.
13:24Some people borrow till they die,
13:26but that's something that I wouldn't suggest.
13:29I wouldn't suggest that a person does that,
13:31but that's something that some people do.
13:34So, no, that's why, like I said,
13:36I have to be intentional.
13:37I don't listen to everyone.
13:38I don't learn from everyone.
13:40You know why?
13:41Because some people can give you some information
13:42that's very good,
13:43but the energy behind it can be super,
13:46you know, every individual that has,
13:49that speaks, it carries a certain frequency.
13:52So with that certain frequency,
13:55when you're learning from a certain person,
13:57like I was just listening to some of the other day,
13:59man, it was talking about,
13:59it was Andrew Tate,
14:00and he was just talking about certain things,
14:02certain aspects,
14:03or you can eat the meat and leave the bones.
14:05You don't have to always take everything
14:07at face value.
14:08So I was listening to Andrew Tate,
14:09and man, he was talking about,
14:11man, some things that were,
14:12man, it was crazy the way that I was listening,
14:15but I took what I could take,
14:16and I agree with a lot of it,
14:17and some of it I didn't agree with
14:18just because, you know,
14:20I don't feel like I'm in a competition.
14:21The world is competitive,
14:22but I don't feel like I'm in competition with anyone.
14:24I don't feel like I have to beat anyone
14:26to get what I want to get,
14:27but I do understand that there are people,
14:29if I don't get in the position
14:31that I believe that I'm supposed to be in,
14:33if I don't operate at a certain level,
14:35if I don't do certain things,
14:37that, yeah, someone else is going to get the position.
14:39Now, you're supposed to be in a certain,
14:40I've known individuals who worked at certain jobs
14:42that when you do get a certain position,
14:44people get jealous.
14:45They have more seniority than you,
14:47allowing you to get you fired unjustly
14:49and things like that,
14:49but I'm talking about you cannot worry
14:53about someone having a $50 million company
14:57or scaling a business to $50 million
14:59or scaling a company to $100 million
15:02if you're not putting the work in.
15:03The only thing you're doing,
15:04they're out there on the floor
15:06putting the work in,
15:07and you're in the stands
15:09and trying to tell someone how to play the game.
15:11You know what I mean?
15:12What you need to do is
15:13you need to go back to the drawing board.
15:15You need to figure out what you want to do,
15:17and you need to chase your own dreams.
15:18No one's job in this life,
15:20which you do have these individuals
15:21and they are put there strategically
15:23to help an individual grow,
15:24but no one's job in this life
15:27was never put and born on this planet
15:29to be a hindrance to other people.
15:31They maybe adopted that,
15:32maybe their environment,
15:34maybe certain propaganda,
15:35maybe certain things that happen.
15:37So you do have to understand it
15:39that that will create a person
15:41to be used as a roadblock,
15:44but you cannot let that stop you.
15:46Like I said,
15:46it's about what you say
15:48and what you think about yourself,
15:50but you have to be intentional.
15:51Do not listen to everybody, man.
15:52Do not take everybody's word into consideration.
15:55You have to do what you need to do.
15:57So talk point number three
15:59is growth requires intentional mental nutrition.
16:02So I've learned this
16:03just as my body needs healthy food,
16:05I just thought I need to start back up,
16:07start working out more.
16:08My mind needs healthy input.
16:10You cannot,
16:11you cannot,
16:11you cannot think
16:14and no one's going to think that either.
16:16You know what I mean?
16:16A lot of people
16:17don't really believe in themselves.
16:18You can really feel out
16:20and understand that they,
16:21yeah,
16:21they're hateful,
16:22they're jealous,
16:23they're mad,
16:23they're trying to project
16:24all that negativity on you.
16:26You know what I mean?
16:27You're mad
16:28because you're not doing
16:30what you're supposed to do
16:31as a father.
16:32You're not doing
16:32what you're supposed to do
16:33as a brother,
16:34as a husband.
16:35You know,
16:36some people are not the problem.
16:37Some people project
16:38their energy on you
16:38because they're not doing
16:39what they're supposed to do
16:40as a man for their family,
16:42for their kids.
16:43The whole time,
16:44it's always someone else's fault.
16:45You know,
16:47it's hard for me
16:48to shake hands
16:49with a man
16:50who feels like
16:51it's everyone else's fault
16:53and you're supposed to be
16:53the head of the household.
16:55You're supposed to be
16:55the go-getter.
16:56You're supposed to be
16:57the breadwinner.
16:57But the only thing
16:58that you can think of
16:59is why you're in the same position
17:01that you're in
17:01is because it's someone else's fault.
17:02It's hard
17:03to be around men like that.
17:06You need some men
17:06that's going to take some hits
17:07and be like,
17:08man,
17:08however it comes,
17:09you know what I mean?
17:09We're going to step up
17:10and do it again.
17:11You have to set an example
17:13to leave a legacy.
17:14You know,
17:15the worst thing
17:16is for a person
17:17to be in a position
17:18of influence
17:18who hasn't went
17:19through the process
17:20and really haven't
17:21went through the process
17:22where he gains the knowledge
17:23and experience
17:23to pour into
17:24the next generation
17:26or pour that into them,
17:27even though
17:27they can take the information
17:29but they still have to go
17:29through it on their own.
17:31So growth requires
17:32intentional mental nutrition.
17:34You have to get to a point
17:35where I don't care,
17:37I don't care
17:38if you do one,
17:38you know,
17:39do one thing
17:39that scares you every day,
17:41you know,
17:41but I'm saying
17:42you have to get to a point
17:43where you have to
17:47intentionally feed,
17:47feed your,
17:49your mental capacity
17:51good things.
17:52You know what I'm saying?
17:53It's hard,
17:54it's hard to believe
17:54if you're not,
17:55if you're not,
17:55you know,
17:56if you're not feeding
17:56your feet,
17:57feeding that to yourself.
17:58It's hard to,
17:59some people may look at me
18:00and say,
18:00man,
18:00this guy's delusional,
18:01man.
18:02You know what I mean?
18:02I've been in a homeless shelter,
18:04man,
18:04and I still had dreams.
18:05You know,
18:05people come around,
18:06you try to break you
18:07because they don't really
18:07believe in you
18:08and then there are systems
18:09and people place in positions
18:10to try to break you
18:11but the thing is this,
18:12people may look at me like,
18:13man,
18:13this guy's delusional,
18:15man.
18:15This guy's off his rocker,
18:17man.
18:17This guy is,
18:17you know,
18:18it's all going to be,
18:19it's all going to be a game.
18:20It's all going to be funny.
18:21It's all going to be
18:22who does this guy think he is
18:23until it finally works
18:24and then when it finally works,
18:26everybody want to act
18:27like you're a genius
18:27and now everyone has
18:28their handout.
18:29Now everyone that,
18:30that doubted you,
18:31everyone that closed doors
18:32in your face,
18:33now they want to collaborate
18:33with you.
18:34So you,
18:34you have,
18:36I'm saying you,
18:37who else is going to believe,
18:39believe in you
18:39and what you're trying
18:40to build besides you?
18:42You know,
18:42I can,
18:42I can expect somebody
18:43to invest in me
18:44if I don't even,
18:45if I don't even invest
18:46in myself.
18:47So you have to get
18:48to a point
18:49where you truly understand
18:51that what you say matters.
18:53No,
18:53not what everyone else says.
18:54So your success,
18:57if you are like,
18:58let's say like success,
19:01confidence,
19:01discipline,
19:02and resilience,
19:03it just doesn't happen
19:04by accident.
19:05You know,
19:06people,
19:06I've seen,
19:07seen a guy being,
19:08I've seen,
19:08seen a guy or a woman
19:10that looks,
19:11that looks confident,
19:12that's successful,
19:13that's,
19:13you know what I'm saying,
19:14that's very disciplined.
19:15Don't think for one second
19:17they had a neural link
19:19placed in their head
19:19and now all of the,
19:20now they're just in alignment.
19:22You know what I mean?
19:23The pain,
19:24the hurt,
19:24all these experiences
19:26shape that person
19:27into becoming
19:28who they become.
19:29You ever find somebody
19:30that's a serial killer?
19:31You know why they're
19:31a serial killer?
19:32Because they,
19:33they didn't get like that
19:34by accident.
19:35They intentionally
19:37developed a skill set
19:39and dove deeper
19:40into the darkness
19:41and being able
19:42to operate like that.
19:43You ever met somebody
19:44that's a,
19:45you know what I'm saying,
19:46a moza billionaire?
19:47You know why?
19:47Because they intentionally,
19:49everything in this life
19:50happens intentionally.
19:51If you're just walking
19:52around unconscious
19:52and you don't have
19:53any dreams,
19:54hopes,
19:54you don't want to do,
19:55do anything
19:56and everybody else
19:56is a problem,
19:57you,
19:58you have taken yourself
19:59out the game.
20:00You know what I mean?
20:01No,
20:01no government,
20:02no mother,
20:04father,
20:05you know what I mean,
20:05can,
20:06can stop you
20:07from doing what you want
20:08to do.
20:08You know what I mean?
20:09Nobody has the right
20:10to stop you.
20:11People will try to stop you,
20:12but that don't,
20:12that doesn't matter,
20:13but nobody who you see
20:16successful or confident
20:17or disciplined
20:18or resilient
20:20is not happening
20:21on accident.
20:22Some,
20:22some people are intentional.
20:24You know how to get like that
20:25because they reinforce
20:26by what they repeatedly
20:28focus on.
20:29You know what I'm saying?
20:29If I'm always focused
20:30on sadness,
20:31of course the person
20:32is going to be sad.
20:32If I'm always focused,
20:33focusing on what's wrong,
20:35of course,
20:35it's going to be easier
20:36for me to doubt myself.
20:38If I'm always focusing
20:39on what I don't have
20:40instead of what I do have,
20:41when you start to operate
20:42from a place of gratefulness,
20:44you start to attract things.
20:46Yeah,
20:46and it has to do with you.
20:47It is a spiritual concept
20:48to that,
20:49but the spiritual concept
20:50is really truly believing
20:51that what you,
20:52what you say
20:53that you are,
20:55now I'm not talking
20:55about entitled people.
20:57People think they're
20:58entitled to your energy,
20:59think they're entitled
21:00to what you have,
21:01but they don't want
21:01to put any work in.
21:02You know what I'm saying?
21:03And then they get mad at you
21:04because they feel like,
21:05oh man,
21:05I've known people
21:06that's had millions of dollars,
21:08you know,
21:08try to stop me
21:09from achieving my dreams
21:10because they don't want me
21:11to outscale their company.
21:14I'm thinking,
21:15I'm thinking to myself,
21:16how did you get
21:17in a position
21:17that you are in?
21:18How did you,
21:19now you probably
21:20went through the ranks
21:21or went through
21:22some upsets and things
21:24and then you built
21:25the mental capacity
21:26and being able,
21:27in order to run this company,
21:29but along the lines,
21:31something happened
21:31where you became
21:32so infamously insecure.
21:36I don't know what it is,
21:38but now,
21:39I never get to that point,
21:40but even research
21:42on habits,
21:44I talked about this
21:45and like I said,
21:45I like to put the input
21:46of research,
21:47but research on habits
21:49shows that repeated thoughts
21:51and behaviors
21:52can become more automatic
21:53over time
21:54as neural pathways strengthen.
21:56So I'm going to tell you
21:57like this,
21:58man,
21:58have you ever heard
21:58of somebody
21:59use the concept
22:00of riding a bike?
22:01You know,
22:01when somebody
22:02used the concept
22:02of like riding a bike,
22:03that is the same thing
22:05when it comes to achieving
22:06anything that you want to achieve.
22:07If you continue to do,
22:09you know what?
22:11I don't care what happens.
22:13There are certain things
22:14that I just naturally do
22:15because I've done it repeatedly
22:17so many times.
22:18I could wake up
22:19completely sick
22:21out of my mind.
22:22Burley can move,
22:23you know,
22:24but you know what?
22:25I naturally,
22:26just do certain things
22:28that I've always do
22:29is because my neural pathways
22:31has that on automatic mode.
22:34You know what I mean?
22:34I can,
22:35I can,
22:35I can feel bad.
22:36I could feel good.
22:37I could,
22:37you know,
22:38I could halfway be distracted,
22:40but my,
22:40because I have repeatedly
22:42repeated the same actions
22:43under any condition
22:45so many times
22:46that I'll naturally,
22:47I'll naturally get up
22:48at a certain time.
22:48I'll naturally
22:50keep my space clean
22:51so it's easier to think.
22:53I will naturally,
22:53you know,
22:54get certain things done.
22:55It's not because
22:56that's all of a sudden
22:57I woke up one day
22:58and I was just like,
22:59oh,
22:59I need to get this done.
23:00Let me get this done.
23:01No,
23:01it's not like that.
23:02It's because no matter
23:03what circumstance,
23:04situation that I was in,
23:06I still pushed through
23:07and still done that
23:08despite not wanting to do it.
23:10Now it's come to a point
23:10where it's like riding a bike.
23:12Now it's come to a point
23:13that it automatically happens
23:14even without me
23:15trying to get it to happen,
23:16but I had to build,
23:17build that resilience.
23:18So if you want
23:20to do a different life,
23:22you have to come intentional
23:23about what you consume daily
23:24because I feed my mind today.
23:27What I feed my mind today
23:28actually helps me shape tomorrow.
23:30So if I'm thinking
23:31about writing a book,
23:33so I'm thinking
23:34about writing a book.
23:34So I've written four books.
23:38They're online.
23:39I can leave the link down.
23:39So I've written four books.
23:41They are online on Amazon.
23:42But the thing is,
23:43the thing is this,
23:44if I feel like writing,
23:46writing a book,
23:47what I consume
23:48helps to shape that tomorrow.
23:50So that plan that I have,
23:51I need to also add
23:53something onto it.
23:54I need to think about
23:55how to shape
23:56different lives of characters.
23:58What are certain outcomes
23:59that could happen in the book?
24:00It's certain books
24:01that I've got through.
24:02I got a book called Evans.
24:03If you ever want to go
24:04check out any of my work,
24:05my pen name,
24:06you know, like J.K. Rollins,
24:07that's not really her real name
24:09that wrote with Harry Potter,
24:10but my pen name
24:11is Michael Von Covetti.
24:12So if you want to,
24:13Michael Von Covetti,
24:14if you look at any author
24:15by the name of Michael Von Covetti,
24:16that's me,
24:17that's my pen name.
24:18I write books in that name.
24:20So you guys can go check
24:21those books out.
24:23We have a book called Evans.
24:24I have another book
24:24that's under my name
24:25that's an entrepreneur book.
24:26And then we have
24:27The Headless Businessman,
24:28The Headless Businesswoman.
24:30So you guys can go check those out.
24:32It's great, great stories.
24:34But if you want a different life,
24:36man, you have to be intentional, man.
24:38You have to be intentional
24:39with what you want.
24:39Some people are so intentional
24:41with bringing people down,
24:43but they're not intentional
24:44about how to get that next dollar.
24:46No, they're not intentional
24:47about what can I do
24:50to leave some money behind
24:51for my kids
24:52without having to use
24:53an insurance policy.
24:54You know, you don't have to,
24:56some people don't even have insurance,
24:58no life insurance.
24:59You know what I'm saying?
25:00But, you know,
25:00I'm not saying
25:01that's not a big thing.
25:02You can start from anywhere.
25:03You know, you can start from,
25:04you can start from scratch
25:06if you want to, you know,
25:08and start to build these things up.
25:10It really only takes up
25:10to five years
25:11to kind of get things
25:12into alignment
25:12just depending on how much
25:13debt you're in
25:15or your resilience
25:16towards making your urgency
25:17to get those things done.
25:19But, you know,
25:20this is the Morning Roaster Podcast.
25:22This is your host, Caleb Thompson.
25:23It's supposed to be
25:24make your mornings matter the most.
25:25Hope you guys have a good one.
25:26This episode was called
25:28What You Feed Your Mind Matters.
25:30And go ahead and look up
25:31some of those research papers
25:32as well.
25:33That's on neuroscience.
25:35That's on, you know,
25:37social connection,
25:38social influence
25:40that's on, you know,
25:43repeated thoughts or habits,
25:44you know,
25:45when it comes to, you know,
25:47thinking and mentally executing
25:51your day.
25:52You know what I mean?
25:53So, man, you guys,
25:54just tune back in here
25:55next Saturday,
25:566 a.m.
25:56Eastern Standard Time.
25:57Peace.
25:58Peace.
25:59Peace.
26:00Peace.
