00:00and detail denied the president just revoking Kamala Harris's Secret Service protection
00:06extended by President Biden before he left office. We're following these major developing
00:12stories and many more all coming in right here to CNN News Central. Some of the officials who
00:17resigned from the CDC are raising serious questions about the decision making at HHS.
00:22Here's what one of them told CNN's Caitlin Collins last night.
00:26Former Vice President Kamala Harris is about to launch a high-profile multi-city book tour,
00:32but she will not have a Secret Service detail when she hits the road. President Trump just revoked
00:38her protection services, according to a letter that was reviewed by CNN. Her service period
00:44officially ended late last month, per federal law, but sources tell CNN President Biden extended it
00:50for another year just before he left office. CNN White House reporter Elena Treen is here with
00:56more. Did Trump give a reason for polling her detail, and what might this mean for her, Elena?
01:03To some of the other headlines that we are watching this hour, a state official says for Austin, Texas,
01:08where SkyWest says the flight landed safely and medical staff were standing by. Boris, certainly
01:14it is time to pack your seats. The force will now give military funeral honors to Ashley Babbitt,
01:22the Air Force veteran and Capitol rioter who was shot and killed while trying to climb through a broken
01:27window on January 6th near the floor of the House of Representatives where members of Congress were
01:34holed up. She was shot after breaching a sensitive area where they were evacuating from. The Capitol
01:40police officer who shot her was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing. CNN's Zach Cohen is here
01:45with more on this. Zach Babbitt initially was denied military funeral honors because of some of the
01:52specifics of the situation under which she died, as I laid out there. Why this reversal?
01:58Yeah, Brianna, obviously, while the initial request for military honors was denied, I am, quote,
02:03persuaded the previous determination was incorrect. And he says that that determination was incorrect
02:09after reviewing the circumstances surrounding Ashley's death. He doesn't really elaborate on
02:14what ultimately led. The administration has made other concessions to the Babbitt family. Tell us
02:18about that, Zach. Yeah, that's right. In addition to this reversing the decision. Very, very close to
02:24the House floor. And we saw what happened there from the inside. Zach Cohen, thank you so much for this
02:30reporting. End of an era. For years, Americans used a tariff loophole to buy cheap goods from abroad. Well,
02:37those days are now over and that could wreak havoc for online shopping. See just how much prices could
02:43go up. Is a catastrophic loophole that has been used to get unsafe or below market products into
02:50the country. Joining us now to a CNN exclusive sources say the Trump administration is taking
02:56steps to send hundreds of Guatemalan children who arrived in the U.S. alone back to their home country.
03:02It is the latest in a series of moves the president has made since returning to office
03:06focused on his immigration crackdown. CNN's Priscilla Alvarez is joining us now with more
03:11on her exclusive reporting. What did you find here? This is an unprecedented move. Every expert
03:16official that I've talked to can't recall ever seeing something like this, which is the U.S.
03:20government's children who arrived to the U.S. southern border alone, meaning that they didn't have a
03:25parent or legal guardian, and were therefore put in the care of the Health and Human Services
03:29department. It's when they're in that care that officials will try to find a parent, those they're
03:35fleeing their family there, or it could be because their family can't protect them from what is
03:39happening in country. It is no small thing for a child to come to the U.S. southern border. But
03:45the
03:45advocates I've talked to said it is unlikely that these kids understand what is actually happening
03:50for them to be sent back and to not be afforded the protections that they typically would be had that
03:55process continued in the United States. It really is unprecedented. Thank you so much for the
04:00reporting, Priscilla. Boris? American Taylor Townsend is back on the court tonight after a heated
04:05exchange with her U.S. Open opponent on Wednesday. Instead of just a quick handshake at the net,
04:11Yelena Ostapenko appeared to scold Townsend after losing their second round match, telling her American
04:17opponent she has no class and no education. A lot of folks weighing in on this, including Naomi Insight is
04:25CNN World Sport anchor Patrick Snell. Patrick, their clash stemmed from the breaking of a sort of
04:33unspoken rule in tennis. What can you tell us about this? Yeah, Brianna, this is certainly becoming
04:39really in round three against the number five seed Mira Andreeva. So we'll keep an eye on all the
04:46latest developments on this. Back to you. All right. We'll be looking for that, Patrick. Thank you very
04:50much. Boris? The head of the office of the president of Ukraine set on X ahead of the meeting. We
04:54believe
04:55that global pressure is needed to ensure Russia is genuinely ready to move. Plus, Obama is back. The
05:01former president is rallying Democrats nationwide and holding calls with rising stars in the party.
05:07Will his reemergence energize Democrats heading into the midterms? And controversial canvas. The
05:14Pentagon is reportedly restoring a portrait, a really big one, of Confederate General Robert E. Lee
05:20to the library at West Point three years after its removal was ordered by Congress. We're following
05:27these major developing stories and many more, all coming in right here to CNN News Central. We are
05:32learning some new information about the victims, the survivors and the shooter who killed two Catholic
05:39school children who were attending an all school mass in Minneapolis. The families of 10 year old
05:44Harper Moisky and eight year old Fletcher Merkel releasing statements, painting a heart wrenching picture
05:49of their loss. Harper's parents describe her as a loving big sister whose, quote, laughter, kindness and
05:57spirit touched everyone who knew her. Eight year old Fletcher Merkel's father says his son loved his
06:04family, friends, fishing, cooking and any sport that he was allowed to play. Let's get the very latest on
06:12this investigation from CNN chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst John Miller. John authorities
06:18say they've gathered hundreds of pieces of evidence already in this case. What are you learning?
06:24Well, they're going for that'll be a longer arduous process. In some cases, they'll have to
06:30either obtain passwords or crack into devices using other technology. That'll take a while.
06:37And John, this tragedy is, of course, a sad reminder of how religious schools in particular
06:42face specific challenges in this era of school shootings. What can you tell us about that?
06:48Well, that's true. I mean, if you look at some of these school shootings, you'll see
06:52certainly something to think about. John Miller. Thank you, Boris.
06:56Now to some of the other headlines that we're watching this hour. The U.S. State Department
07:00is are already running ahead. A controversial portrait reportedly coming back to the halls
07:06of West Point. Stay with CNN News Central.
