00:00Next, a quote imminent and substantial danger to the public after a radiation leak at a U.S. nuclear facility.
00:06Plus, one of the biggest bands in rock and roll history facing a lawsuit tonight did Led Zeppelin steal their
00:13most famous song.
00:14And toxic jerky treats made in China linked to more than a thousand dog deaths.
00:19Let's go out front.
00:21Tonight, new concerns about self-defense in America after a man shoots and kills an unarmed teenager.
00:27A Montana homeowner will be arraigned tomorrow morning for shooting a German exchange student who illegally entered his garage.
00:35The teen's family, Karma, says the killing was justified.
00:37And because of an updated castle law in Montana, which states your home can legally be protected by force, he
00:44may have a case.
00:45Kyung La is out front with the story.
00:47I will say, maybe this is not entirely a prank.
00:51This is a kid who may be stealing something.
00:53But certainly this is someone who is unarmed.
00:55We do not believe that he was looking to hurt anyone.
00:59Does the shooter still have a case?
01:00Of course.
01:01In their house, whether or not they're armed, whether or not they intend to just pull a prank,
01:05whether or not they're going to harm his wife, his 10-month-old.
01:08Keep in mind, he had been birthed.
01:10But you're with the prosecution on this case.
01:12You very much disagree.
01:13Oh, absolutely.
01:14Even in Montana, a gun-friendly place, the law says you have to have a reason and fired the shotgun.
01:21So you think that a part of this case that I think is fascinating, and that is that court records
01:27show that just days before this shooting,
01:30Karma told a woman in a haircuttery that he had been waiting up for three nights with a shotgun to,
01:37quote, to shoot some kid.
01:38How does that play into this?
01:39Let's get the atmosphere, okay?
01:41Legitimate garage.
01:43The garage door was open.
01:45He was just waiting to shoot somebody who went into the garage.
01:48Now, that doesn't sound like...
01:50Left open, Mel, so that they could dip out, he and his wife, to have a smoke, I believe.
01:54Correct.
01:55And some people are arguing that this is more than just being ready, that there was something more here, that
02:01this was...
02:01You're talking to your hairdresser, you're like, oh my gosh, I've been up for nights on end waiting with my...
02:07Which reminds me, by the way, this is not the occupied portion of the house.
02:12This is a garage we did here.
02:13And this is the debate that is going to be playing out as this case goes on.
02:18Mel, Paul, thanks so much to both of you.
02:20A lot to talk about here, and Out Front Next, still to come, did Led Zeppelin steal Stairway to Heaven?
02:26The lawyer who is suing the band is Out Front Next, and a hologram of Michael Jackson was all that
02:31anyone was talking about after the Billboard Awards.
02:34Tonight, we have an exclusive look inside the company that pulled it off.
02:38It is one of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time, but was the intro to Led Zeppelin's
02:43Stairway to Heaven?
02:44Sounds kind of familiar, right?
02:45Well, now listen to the intro to Stairway to Heaven.
02:48Taurus was released in 1968, three years before Stairway to Heaven.
02:53So why is this a legal issue now, more than 40 years later?
02:56Out Front Tonight, Francis Malefee.
02:58You know, there are many songs out there that kind of sound the same, but they aren't necessarily plagiarized.
03:03You say that isn't the case here.
03:04Why is that?
03:05Well, the great band of rock and roll, they were a fledgling band who were trying to make it into
03:10California,
03:10but also those distinct chords that obviously they would have heard while performing in the same venues together, the same
03:18concerts.
03:19So the songs clearly have similarities.
03:21You can't deny that when you listen to it.
03:23But other than Randy's comment to a magazine that he made in 1997, he claimed that Zeppelin ripped off his
03:28song.
03:28Sure.
03:28But no other action was taken.
03:30Why now?
03:31Well, civil cases, and that's why I believe someone who's very moved by artists,
03:36someone who is moved by Randy, California, is to see that credit's given where credit's due.
03:43And you can't stay as alive, and to that end is to give him credit.
03:49Case will be following it.
03:51Francis Malefee, thanks so much for being with us.
03:53And still out front, the case against Donald's hologram that everyone is talking about.
03:57Tonight, we have an exclusive look inside the company that created it.
04:02New details tonight about the NBA's legal charges against Donald Sterling.
04:06The league's commissioner, Adam Silver, telling reporters that as it stands...
04:10Incredible press conference, first of all.
04:11I mean, Silver basically says that he knows Sterling had asked, through his attorneys,
04:15had asked for three months to try to respond.
04:17Takeover ownership as well.
04:19All right, Jason Carroll, thank you so much.
04:21Now, still to come, the Michael Jackson hologram that stole the show at the Billboard Awards.
04:26And there are more holograms to come.
04:28We have an exclusive next.
04:30The Michael Jackson hologram stole the show at the Billboard Awards.
04:34Some people thought it was cool, others just plain creepy.
04:36But almost everyone agreed that it looked just like the real thing.
04:40So where can holograms go from here?
04:43Here's a closer look from our own Stephanie Elam.
04:45Thanks so much for joining us.
04:47We'll see you again tomorrow night.
04:48AC 360 starts right now.
04:51We'll see you again tomorrow night.
04:51We'll see you again tomorrow night.
