00:00Good evening. After the excitement of the solar eclipse, temperatures are set to rise into Thursday.
00:06The high 30s possible across parts of England. We do have an extreme heat warning in force for parts of
00:12England.
00:12It will be a warm night tonight for much of England and Wales as well as parts of Scotland
00:18as clear skies push further north into southern and eastern areas of Scotland.
00:22Cloudier skies continue across more western areas of Northern Ireland, the far northwest as well.
00:27We'll see some outbreaks of rain through the night, but temperatures quite widely in the high teens, above 20 degrees
00:33for some urban areas.
00:35It's starting to be quite uncomfortable overnight, feeling fairly humid by tomorrow morning.
00:41Clear skies though to start the day, so plenty of sunshine from the get-go.
00:45It's going to be strong sunshine though with very high UV levels.
00:48We do have an amber extreme heat warning in force for parts of England.
00:52That's where we'll see the highest temperatures.
00:53But across much of England and Wales, temperatures are set to be between 28 and 32 degrees.
00:59Quite a large portion of central England seeing temperatures in the mid-30s as well.
01:04So we zoom in to parts of central England.
01:07That's where we've got the extreme heat warning in force.
01:10This is where we're expecting impacts from the heat to infrastructure as well as potentially health.
01:15You can find more details on that on our website.
01:17As we head into Thursday evening, clear skies continue for much of the UK.
01:22A little bit more cloud filtering in from the west.
01:25That's as this weather front's starting to push further eastwards into the start of Friday.
01:30So a bit of a change on the way for the end of the week.
01:33But ahead of that, another quite close night to come across much of England and Wales, particularly for more eastern
01:39areas.
01:40Another very warm night.
01:41It will feel a little bit fresher though further north and west.
01:44You can see these northwesterly winds pushing in and you will really notice the difference once you get into those
01:49northwesterly winds throughout Friday.
01:52So the showery rain pushes a little bit further eastwards through the day, bringing some rain to parts of northern
01:58England.
01:59I think any further south though, rain is going to be quite a lot more limited.
02:02But there will be more cloud around.
02:04So it won't feel quite as hot on Friday for many areas.
02:08The exception being the far south and east where temperatures are still set to climb towards 32 degrees.
02:13So still a pretty hot day in the south and east, but not quite as hot.
02:18You can see the temperature difference from day to day here between Thursday and Friday.
02:24A big difference, particularly across more northwestern areas.
02:27Much of the UK seeing at least a five degree difference in maximum temperatures between Thursday and Friday.
02:34So a cooler day to come.
02:35That denotes the change we'll see into the weekend with these northwesterly winds continuing to dominate.
02:41Is there any more rain on the way?
02:43Well, not really through this weekend.
02:44We've still got high pressure dominating.
02:46That may change into next week.
02:48But you can find out more details on that on the latest 10-day trend with Alex on YouTube.
02:53Bye-bye.
02:53Bye-bye.
02:55Bye-bye.
