00:00Hello, very good evening to you. As we go through the next 12, 24 hours or so, there's going to
00:05be
00:05a bit of a west-east split developing in as much as eastern areas closer towards the high pressure
00:11will cling on to the fine sunny weather. Further west, there's a frontal system pushing its way
00:15through. But as we head into the Long Bank holiday weekend, there's more changeable weather to come,
00:20more widely some heavy, thundery rain around. More on that in just a second. For the time being then,
00:25yes, western areas ending the day on a bit of a cloudy note. Some outbreaks of rain across parts
00:30of southwest England, parts of Wales, Northern Ireland, and eventually some of that rain feeding
00:34into western parts of Scotland as well. Central and eastern parts of England and also across parts
00:40of Scotland, there will be drier, clearer weather. And with those clear skies, well, yes, it is going
00:45to turn a bit fresh, a bit chilly for some of us. There could be a touch of frost in
00:48some prone spots,
00:49particularly towards the north, but not a huge amount of this. And actually towards the west,
00:53the southwest in particular, where we have that cloud. Temperatures, well, for many holding up
00:58in double digits. So then we have that west-east split as we go through tomorrow morning. Cloudier
01:05at times towards western parts. Outbreaks of rain. Some of that rain could be a bit heavy. There could
01:09be some rumbles of thunder mixed in with it perhaps as well. Meanwhile, towards the east, clinging on to
01:15that fine sunny weather and also clinging on to some pretty warm air. Temperatures across some parts
01:21of the southeast are likely to peak around 26 or 27 Celsius. Further west, a bit fresher than this
01:27because of the cloud and the rain. But nonetheless, still warm if you get any brighter or sunny weather.
01:32Still a bit of a breeze around though, and that will take the edge off the temperatures a little bit.
01:36We've talked a lot about UV recently, but still worth bearing in mind, UV levels could be high at
01:41times across eastern parts tomorrow. As we go through the end of the day, that heavy,
01:45showery rain will feed its way northeastwards. And so most of us will see some rain at times,
01:50albeit the further east you are, the later it's going to arrive. And then it clears towards the
01:54east as we go overnight, with some clear breaks developing behind, but also a bit more cloud
01:59perhaps than we've seen through some recent nights. And with that, some rain around in a few places
02:04towards the southwest, across parts of Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland as well, seeing a few
02:08outbreaks of rain. But this looks mostly like the heaviest rain having cleared through earlier on.
02:13Because there will be more cloud around for most, it's going to be a slightly milder night than
02:18this coming night. Not for everyone, because some places will have slightly clearer skies. So some
02:24places where it stays in double digits tonight could actually drop into single figures. Meanwhile,
02:28most places having a slightly milder night, that being said, could see a few prone spots dropping to
02:33low single figures. And then into Saturday, yes, it is looking a bit more changeable. There'll be
02:40more cloud around. There will be some sunshine, but also outbreaks of rain. Outbreaks of rain across
02:45parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and a swathe of perhaps heavy, sherry rain feeding its way up
02:51from the southwest across much of Wales and southern southwestern England. This could be heavy,
02:55could have some rumbles of thunder mixed in with it as well. Meanwhile, towards parts of, well,
03:00Lincolnshire, East Anglia, clinging on to that fine sunny weather for a little bit longer. But even here,
03:05we are going to see the unsettled weather arriving. Then looking towards our temperatures for Saturday,
03:11and whilst there is a downward trend and things turning a little bit cooler, it is still going to
03:16be pretty warm across parts of the east, just a few degrees down compared to what we're expecting on
03:21Friday. And then mentioning those UV levels again, it is still going to be quite high across parts of
03:27the east. So do take care if you are going to be outside for any long periods of time. But
03:32with more
03:32cloud around towards the west, that UV will be dropping ever so slightly, but moderate levels
03:37could still catch some people out. More unsettled changeable weather to come. Perhaps the heaviest,
03:43most persistent rain across England and Wales, at least, will be as we go through Saturday night and
03:47into Sunday. But it doesn't then turn to totally dry. There will be more rain at times as we go
03:53through Sunday and Monday. So not a total washout of a long weekend. There will be some dry weather to
03:59be had, even some brightness, and in the brightness, feeling relatively warm. But yes, there is going
04:04to be more rain, perhaps, than we've seen of late. For some of us, that will be welcome news. But
04:08if you
04:09need a little bit more detail, well, definitely worth staying up to date with the forecast, because we
04:13will be fine tuning things as we get nearer the time. Bye bye.
