00:00A much more typical weekend for late July to come over the next few days. Temperatures much
00:06closer to average, plenty of sunshine and very little in the way of rain. There will be a few
00:10showers around particularly where we're close to this area of low pressure up to the north of the
00:15UK. So a number of showers pushing in on quite a strong northwesterly wind across parts of Scotland.
00:21Some areas of northern England could see some light showers as well throughout Saturday.
00:25Further south it looks dry across much of England and Wales. Some cloud here and there particularly
00:30across more western areas but in the east it's going to be a very sunny day indeed. But we have
00:35got much cooler air this weekend than we've had so far this week so temperatures will be lower
00:41and in the mid-20s across more southeastern areas the high teens further north. It's actually a pretty
00:47similar picture to what we've seen through much of the week for more northern areas. It's in the south
00:51where you're really going to notice the difference over the weekend. It's still quite warm really
00:55but it will be much more pleasant, much more usable sunshine throughout this weekend. On Saturday
01:02evening that high pressure continues to dominate through much of the UK. That area of low pressure
01:06being pushed a little bit further north and west away from the UK. So plenty of dry weather
01:12overnight. A clear start to the day. Plenty of sunshine. A few showers still clipping the far north
01:18of Scotland and the Northern Isles in particular where the winds will be stronger throughout much of
01:24Sunday. Further south though plenty of sunshine. Notice though to the south and west cloud will thicken
01:30into the afternoon. That's because there is some rain on the way through Sunday evening and into Monday.
01:36But before then Sunday brings a lot of sunshine to much of the UK. Plenty of dry weather as well.
01:43So very little rain throughout Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures once again on Sunday very similar to
01:48Saturday. High teens, low 20s possibly in some northern areas. The south east of Scotland could
01:54see so 20, 21 degrees. Further south though we're in the mid 20s. It's still quite warm. UV levels will
02:00still be high. But then things change as we head into Monday and we will see potentially some more
02:06significant rain till the start of August or the first week of August as this low pressure system
02:12moves up from the south and west. Bringing some more persistent rain in from more southwestern areas.
02:18There's potential for that rain to linger for a while particularly across some eastern areas of
02:23Scotland. So that's one to watch over the next few days. We will of course be keeping you up to
