00:00Hello, very good day to you. There is a lot of fine sunny weather around today towards the south and
00:06southwest.
00:07Further east, it's a slightly different story. Looking at the earlier satellite imagery, we can see there's already a swathe
00:14of cloud towards the northeast of us.
00:16And that's because there's a weather system here, and that weather system is going to push its way southwards, particularly
00:21affecting eastern parts of the country as we go through the day, bringing some, at times, heavy and thundery rain.
00:27Some of those showers have already started across Scotland, and quite quickly as we go into the afternoon, they're going
00:32to spread into parts of northern England.
00:34Like I said, mainly feeding down the eastern side of the UK, and always watch out for some heavier bursts
00:40of rain mixed in with them as well.
00:42A few spots of rain across parts of northern Ireland, a fair bit of cloud here, but across some central
00:47western parts of England, Wales, particularly towards the south, lots of fine sunny weather here.
00:52And with all that sunshine, temperatures are going to rise. Again, we're getting into the low 20s, so feeling pretty
00:58warm indeed.
00:59Further north and east, where we have that cloud, the showery rain, while temperatures are going to be a few
01:03degrees lower than this, so feeling a bit fresher for sure.
01:06It's as we go later on in the day, into the evening, where we see a swathe of heavier, perhaps
01:12thundery rain pushing its way across eastern parts of England, crossing London and then towards other parts of the southeast.
01:18Watch out for some hail, some lightning mixed in with this, also some strong gusty winds.
01:23Further showers possible for a little while longer across some eastern parts of Scotland, northeast England, but further west, many
01:30areas here staying dry with some clear skies as we go through the start of the night.
01:35And then overnight, we're going to see the cloud thickening as we see it all coming in from the east.
01:42So we're going to see the skies turning a bit cloudier, and there will be some drizzly outbreaks of rain
01:48mixed in with this as well, the heaviest rain clearing away towards the south.
01:52Some places will stick with the drier, clearer weather, western parts of Scotland, some parts of Northern Ireland.
01:58But here, well, there may be a touch of frost, but we could also see a few pockets of mist
02:03and fog developing as well.
02:05Most other areas where we get that blanket of cloud coming in, temperatures not dropping especially low.
02:10So for many, it is going to be a bit of a grey start to the day tomorrow, either because
02:14of that thick cloud or because of some mist and murk and fog around in places.
02:18But whilst there will be a few outbreaks of drizzly rain at times, most of this will quite quickly clear
02:25as we go through the morning.
02:26And so it is going to be drier, brighter, sunnier as we get into the afternoon for many places as
02:31well.
02:31The sunshine coming through from the east, so some western areas and also some parts of Scotland perhaps clinging on
02:37to something a little bit cloudier for longer.
02:39But most of us seeing brighter, sunnier weather as we go through the day.
02:43But do watch out for some showers, particularly towards English Channel coastal areas.
02:47A few of them may make their way towards the land, but most places having a dry, fine picture through
02:54the latter part of the day.
02:56Temperatures, however, will be down a couple of degrees compared to today.
02:59And with a bit more of a breeze, it's going to feel a fair bit fresher as well.
03:03Still, these aren't too far off average for the time of year.
03:06In fact, a bit higher for some places, particularly if you're in a shelter from the breeze, it's still going
03:11to feel relatively warm.
03:13And speaking of warm weather, there's more of that to come as we go through the week.
03:16Temperatures rising again by the end of the week.
03:18Plenty of sunshine through the next few days.
03:21Do watch out for some strong gusty winds, perhaps towards the south.
03:23Not quite as windy as it was last week, but nonetheless, a bit of a breeze for sure.
03:28And then, while it is a bank holiday, so unsurprisingly, it looks like the weather's going to turn a bit
03:33more changeable as we head towards the weekend.
03:36But for more information about what we can expect through this week, do check out our week ahead forecast, which
03:41Claire Nazir will be bringing to you this week.
03:44I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
