00:00Hi there, good morning. Many places starting the day with cloud, but brighter weather is on the way back, albeit
00:07relatively slowly in places during the rest of the day.
00:10Now, high pressure continues to sit close to the UK, but during the last 24 hours we've had this feature
00:15arrive from the east that's increased the cloud and given some heavy rain in places.
00:20And we start the day with that cloud and further showery outbreaks moving east to west and southwest during the
00:27morning.
00:27Now, those showers will linger across parts of Wales and southern counties of England even into the afternoon, but further
00:34north and east, plenty of sunshine returning as the day goes on, albeit with a relatively brisk and cold wind.
00:43That wind leading to temperatures of 11 or 12 Celsius on the North Sea coast, inland 15 to 17 degrees.
00:51And certainly for west and southwestern parts of the UK, that's a marked contrast compared with Monday afternoon.
00:58This graphic shows where those areas are significantly cooler compared with Monday afternoon.
01:04This is the temperature comparison compared with 24 hours earlier.
01:07The blue areas there across south Wales and the southwest showing temperatures 7 degrees or more lower compared at the
01:14same time the day before.
01:15Eastern coastal areas also similar temperature trend, but the north and northwest of Scotland, western parts of Northern Ireland a
01:21little warmer, and that's where the warmest spots will be.
01:23Northwest Highlands potentially reaching 19 Celsius, sunny spells here.
01:28Widely clear skies as we go into the evening, although still the chance of one or two showers just flirting
01:33with the south coast.
01:34We keep the brisk easter to northeaster wind.
01:37It's a relatively dry wind, so yeah, the odd mist patch as we start off Wednesday, but mostly it's clear
01:44skies.
01:45And a cool start, well, a chilly start to the day in many places.
01:48Low single figures, a touch of frost possible in the west of Scotland, western parts of Northern Ireland.
01:53Otherwise, it's generally frost free as we begin the day on Wednesday.
01:57Plenty of sunshine, temperatures soon rising, but we keep that easterly wind going.
02:02That's going to maintain the sunshine across the vast majority of the UK, but always this little feature towards the
02:08southwest, perhaps giving the odd shower in the far southwest of Cornwall by the afternoon, and additional cloud cover here.
02:15But for the vast majority, it's blue skies, and not feeling quite as cool as Tuesday.
02:20Still on the cool side along the north seacoast, but inland temperatures returning to the mid to high teens, perhaps
02:2720 Celsius in one or two of the most favoured spots.
02:30Clear skies widely on Wednesday evening, and heading into Thursday, it's a very similar day.
02:35Always the chance of a shower or two in the far southwest, otherwise widespread sunny skies feeling a little warmer
02:41once again.
