00:00Hi there, for many of us it's a grey and gloomy as well as breezy day.
00:05With some showery rain, but otherwise a lot of dry weather before the next weather system.
00:10Moves in from the southwest later, that's already making an appearance early afternoon as Cornwall.
00:15Meanwhile, the rest of the country, a lot of cloud, some of that low cloud covering hills.
00:20Further, persistent rain pushing into eastern Scotland, especially into the Grampians where that will be falling asleep.
00:25Snow above 300-400 meters.
00:27The rain turning more persistent into Northern Ireland later.
00:30With a brisk breeze coming in from the southeast, coastal gales are unexposed to Irish sea coast.
00:35Wind making it feel on the cold side, 5-6 celsius in the east.
00:389 or 10 further.
00:40The weather southwest, so a little milder here, but actually it's not going to feel very pleasant at all.
00:45The next system moves some heavy rain into Cornwall, then Devon by late afternoon.
00:50Spreading into south and mid Wales and inching northeastwards through the night.
00:55Another spell of wet weather, of course, not welcome news for the southwest, where it's so saturated.
01:00At the moment, so many issues earlier in the week.
01:02But this rain spell not amounted.
01:05It's affecting to quite as much as storm Chandra, which will want 15 to 25 millimeters of rain.
01:10Meanwhile, Northern Ireland also likely to experience impacts from this rainfall.
01:15Overnight, risk of 40 to 60 millimeters in some of the very wettest storms.
01:20And as the rain pushes into the colder air, we can expect a spell of snow.
01:25Initially, above 100 meters for parts of northern England and southern Scotland.
01:30The cold air remaining in place as we start off Friday.
01:33So chilly feel, drier.
01:35Not for a time for central and northwest Scotland, but this system is moving its way north.
01:40Eastwards, various occluded fronts, whilst the next low tracks along the southwest.
01:45West of England, once again, a low pressure in the south.
01:50Southwest to bring another spell of wet and windy weather later Friday.
01:53But initially, we do...
01:55We do have some persistent rain across Northern Ireland, much of central and southern Scotland,
01:59Northern England.
02:00Like I say, falling as snow to 100 meters initially, but then it's going to rise to...
02:05Three or four hundred meters by the afternoon and again, further snow...
02:10Fall over the Grampians with persistent rain at lower levels.
02:13We keep that strong south-eastern...
02:15And a drier spell for a time for Northern Ireland...
02:20And into north and northeast Wales, the Midlands and the southeast.
02:23Even some brightness coming...
02:25Coming through.
02:26But here's the next low.
02:27It brings some gusty winds and further heavy rain.
02:30Into the south-west, pushing into south and mid Wales, central southern England by Friday...
02:35Afternoon, once again, more rain adding to the very saturated...
02:40So, not welcome news at all.
02:43Ten Celsius in the south-west, not feeling...
02:45Very pleasant, though, with the wind and rain...
02:46A little milder across central parts...
02:49Still...
02:50Feeling chilly in the north-east, with the brisk south-eastery wind...
02:53And further significant snow...
02:55We're building up over the Grampians...
02:57Above three, four hundred meters or so...
02:59At lower levels...
03:00It's persistent wet weather...
03:01Some significant rain...
03:03Next couple of days...
03:04At lower levels...
03:05Across eastern and northeast Scotland...
03:07We're talking about 70 to 80 millimeters in places...
03:10And the showery and blustery weather continues across the south...
03:15And the south-west heading into the start of the weekend...
03:18So, plenty more weather happening...
03:20Over the next few days...
