00:00Hello, welcome to the CV's Flight Channel.
00:30How to sneak up the inside, and he's in the lead on that quad-lock Honda.
00:34Oh, Barsha straight through to second.
00:37He's back!
00:38I love it!
00:40Back the way we remembered.
00:43Remember I talked about, man, this guy is great in these conditions, and this would be a story.
00:49Uh-oh, hold on, hold on.
00:52Gets through there, found his rhythm.
00:54Meanwhile, Joey Savacci's disappeared.
00:55Yeah.
01:00When was that, when was that New Jersey race?
01:03Was that two years ago, three years ago?
01:05Yeah, two years ago, I believe.
01:07He was spectacular there in sloppy, sloppy conditions.
01:11Well, this is incredible to see what the 51 of Justin Barsha is doing right now.
01:16Like you said, Ricky, he really did have zero expectations.
01:19This is about just getting some supercross gate drops in here before the season is out.
01:24But when I spoke to him earlier and said, hey, you know, you're probably adverse to these conditions.
01:29He kind of smiled and he's like, it's kind of crazy, right?
01:32This is what we were wishing for.
01:33He said, most important thing, Ricky, for him is that it would slow everything down.
01:37After coming back from the kind of injury, the incident that he did, he just wanted to come back, slow
01:42the track down and just ease back into this.
01:44In Barsha style he is doing that right now.
01:47So home race for Seth Hamaker, home race for Nick Romano, and certainly in some shape or form a home
01:53race for Justin Barsha.
01:54Let's hear his thoughts.
01:57Absolutely.
01:57You know, I was born in Jersey, not far from here.
02:00And as soon as I landed from the airport, I went, yeah, we're in Philly.
02:03I can feel the aggressiveness, and I got excited, and I got in the rental car, and my wife's like,
02:07yeah, you fit right in up here.
02:09Like, it just goes off.
02:11So, yes, it's great to come back in Philly.
02:13I feel the vibe, the energy.
02:15I just feel good.
02:17Tell you what, man, I think, like, this is almost a blessing for this guy.
02:21You talk about no pressure, no expectations, and I feel like sometimes when the conditions are like this, it does
02:28take the pressure off,
02:29because it's more of survival and not having to, you know, getting to the end, like we've been telling everyone,
02:36and not having to absolutely turn it loose, jumping gnarly jumps, and, you know, the risk is a little bit
02:43less because the speeds are slower,
02:45and everything kind of simmers down a little bit.
02:47He might just give you and Ryan Villopoto quite the story to tell on Monday on Title 24.
02:53Here comes Justin Cooper, by the way.
02:54As we watch Cooper and Barsha, I want to share a funny story yesterday with Justin Barsha when everybody came
03:01out for media day, right?
03:03You ride through the tunnel and out onto the track, and then Justin got there, took his helmet off,
03:08and Ricky and I said to him, how was that?
03:10Did you take that all in? Like, what was that feeling like to ride back into the arena?
03:15He said, you know what? I didn't even really pay that much attention, but I can tell you, I'm kind
03:20of nervous.
03:21He said, when I woke up this morning, I was nervous, and it's not even race day.
03:27It's so fun to talk to Justin, him and his wife, two little boys, and just where he is now
03:34in life.
03:35A lot of fun to talk to, just enjoying the process.
03:38JT?
03:39He's not the only rider, kind of making this hometown appearance.
03:42We talked about Nick Romano earlier.
03:44Well, Justin Cooper there, sitting in third, he's a Long Island native, so I'm sure he's got a lot of
03:48family and friends.
03:49So he and Justin Barsha, both from New York, both probably not hating this mud too much,
03:55and both of them could be in contention to get their, well, Justin Barsha's first win in a long time,
04:00but Justin Cooper's still looking for that first elusive win for the overall.
04:04Two minutes plus a lap to go. Great ride by Cade Clayson. Cade's in the top ten.
04:10Dylan Ferrandes is in that transfer zone. Whoa! Look at that! Barsha to the lead with a body slam.
04:16A body check on Joey Savace.
04:19He snuck up on him. Joey not anticipating, or I don't think he was anticipating that,
04:24but when the door opens in the mud race, you just gotta absolutely send in.
04:28That was somewhat of a sly job.
04:31Sure was.
04:32Man, this is, this would be so epic.
04:35Really cool to see if Barsha can hang on to it.
04:40A minute, 35 seconds left.
04:43Lost one lap.
04:45So, it has been a spectacular first year for the Troy League Design Red Bull Ducati team,
04:52on many fronts.
04:53But to go for this rider line-up of Justin Barsha and Dylan Ferrandes, and unfortunately the team lost Barsha
05:02at A1,
05:03after there was that accident between himself and Malcolm Stewart, and Justin needed some time away.
05:07He hit his head very hard, and he just needed to rest and recuperate.
05:12Here is Jorge Prado who's got bait.
05:14Justin Cooper, he's got that third spot.
05:16Joey Savace is trying to respond.
05:18But, Dylan Ferrandes has been doing an excellent job checking off better result, better result, better result.
05:26But this could be something special.
05:28A first heat win for Ducati, and that TLD Red Bull machine?
05:32Yeah.
05:32That'd be pretty cool.
05:33And you consider, like, how many races we've been to already this season,
05:38and for Dylan not to get one, and then JB to come back out.
05:43First race back, and a bag of heat, that'd be huge for the brand himself.
05:48Jay Coop got back past Prado.
05:50Prado must have had a little hiccup there.
05:52Time's almost up, and Savace is definitely getting a little bit closer to Justin Barsha.
05:57He might have something for him on the final lap.
06:01What a crazy story this would be.
06:03First race back, and Barsha wins the heat.
06:08Getting into some lappers here.
06:10You can see they're all trying to...
06:13They're all taking a similar line, so that line's starting, the ruts are starting to get deep.
06:18It's gonna be harder to follow those ruts, so I anticipate some of these guys start venturing off and find
06:25some...
06:27I wouldn't say fresh dirt, but a newer line, and not as deep to where they can get a better
06:33drive.
06:35As these ruts get deeper, it becomes much harder to keep your balance and hold a straight line.
06:40Look at this, Joey Savace's gained ground on Barsha.
06:44They're gonna see the white flag next time by, signifying one lap to go.
06:48Let your eyes walk through that graphic on the left, and you're gonna see there's the lead change.
06:53Savace back in front.
06:54Kyle Chisholm is in the automatic transfer position.
06:58He's one spot behind Chase Sexton.
07:01Here comes Barsha.
07:02He wants that lead back.
07:04He wants that win.
07:05It might only be a heat, but he's having a blast out there.
07:09Whoa!
07:12Contact for the second time with Joey Savace.
07:15I love the battle right here.
07:17Guys fighting.
07:20Joey says, all right, I can play that game as well.
07:23Gotcha.
07:24Take that.
07:26Here comes Cooper.
07:29Here's Justin.
07:30Flying through the air.
07:31Up the inside of one.
07:33Almost two.
07:34Cooper to second.
07:35For now.
07:38Oh, watch though.
07:39Barsha's on the inside right here.
07:41He's gonna make the move back by...
07:44Yes.
07:45Similar to what he did, how he made the move for the lead.
07:48On the 17 of Savace.
07:50Joey doing a great job.
07:52Not giving up and staying strong to the end.
07:55Barsha just lost a little bit of momentum and rhythm there through the whoops.
07:59So that's allowed Joey Savace to get away.
08:02Determined right here through that split lane section.
08:05I mean, could you imagine?
08:07Another great opportunity for a guy like Joey Savace to bag his first premiere win.
08:12Absolutely.
08:13Down this short shoot, this flat section.
08:17And that is a heat win for Joey Savace.
08:20First time since 2019.
08:23Awesome effort.
08:25Justin Barsha is back and he finishes second.
08:27Ahead of Justin Cooper.
08:30And Shane McElrath came storming through.
08:32Recept two.
08:331, 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2, 2.
