01:24Good start, Hunter Lawrence on the inside, and Justin Cooper.
01:27All in red is the championship leader, Lawrence to the front.
01:32One thing about the average on starts, Hunter Lawrence leads this field all season long.
01:39The best first average lap, and that is huge, especially on a triple crown night.

01:44Look at the gap here, but keep your eyes on the man that is in third place right now,
01:49Ken Roxxon.
01:51He'll be looking to dispose of Justin Cooper very quickly and get out and chase down the
01:56championship leader.

02:01He wants to try to get around Justin because, as you can see, that 96 is starting to separate

02:11he feels like he has the speed, but he's got to get around the 32.

02:15When I'm chasing this dude, Ricky Carmichael, yeah, that does look like he's about to loop

02:21But listen, this is where the 94 of Ken Roxxon has been so good all season long, where he's
02:27been great in a lot of areas, but he is very explosive, has a lot of intensity early on
02:33in these races.
02:34He can really use that to his benefit right now, and especially on these triple crown
02:39races.
02:39Yeah, but as you mentioned earlier in that breakdown in the corners, it's going to make
02:43it a little bit difficult for Kenny to pass.
02:45What he's got to do is try to square up Justin, maybe get up to the inside of Justin as
02:49he
02:49was doing.

02:54Watch this next lap right here by Ken Roxxon.
02:57It's going to be very interesting to see how much time he can make up on Hunter Lawrence.
03:03And man, this is no surprise, James, when it comes to this part of the season, we only
03:08got four races to go, and the guys that are in first and second in the points championship
03:13are running one-two right now.
03:15Yeah, just that intensity level of what they're racing for, not saying the other guys aren't,
03:19but it just brings that heat up.
03:21And the difference between last weekend and this weekend is Kenny was in the opposite
03:25position where Hunter was.
03:27So maybe this is free him up a little bit.
03:29He has a chance to go out there and try to chase the number 96.
03:31We're watching battle for fourth and fifth right here.
03:35Yeah, Jorge Prado, the Spaniard aboard the 26th there, the Red Bull KTM.
03:39He sits fourth.
03:40And then Malcolm Stewart.
03:41There he is aboard the Rockstar Energy Factory, Husqvarna, and Cooper Webb behind him.
03:46Timing and scoring, Hunter Lawrence and Ken Roxen, almost identical lap times there.

03:53This is a very short lap time.
03:5745 seconds, rarely do they have anything this short, normally it's 50 seconds.
04:02Tell you what, though, RC, Roxen has eaten into that lead by three-tenths of a second.
04:07The Suzuki man is not done with yet, with nine minutes, 13 left, plus a lap.
04:12Watch this section of the track as they come through these walks.
04:17Watch Prado and watch Malcolm.
04:18They're going at about less than 15 miles an hour here, and they blast out of here.
04:23Third gear up to almost 60 miles an hour in that short span there.
04:27Yeah, wide open pull and a tear-off.
04:29That just shows you how controlled these guys are.
04:31But I talked to my brother between the race, he felt really comfortable here.
04:34I think with the fans being up here in the dog pound here in Cleveland,
04:38I'm sure he's got a lot of motivation as he slides up the inside of Jorge.
04:42Jorge did a good job at getting out of that section.
04:44Yeah, and you can see the corners like we showed you guys coming off that break right here.
04:49It just, like James said, it makes it so difficult when it's just one big bowl turn
04:53and you don't have multi lines.
04:56Very, very difficult to pass.
04:59Let's not forget about the resilience of the 27.
05:03Malcolm Stewart started this year with a broken scapula and still rode under that injury.
05:09Look at that for a quick switchback.
05:10And Prado knows that he's all over him.
05:12Yeah, I like that for a passing opportunity.
05:15If you can get that corner right, it makes the guy have to decide on this next corner.
05:19After the mechanics there go to inside or outside, you might be able to slide up the inside.
05:22So, yeah, you'll see these guys slide the rear end of their bike out very early in the corner to
05:29try to get a good drive down.
05:30Really, that's their only opportunity to make a pass in a corner.
05:35There are two riders that both have one podium each this year.
05:40They're in search of their second.
05:42And you're talking about a guy who's a multi-time motocross world champion,
05:47but he is still learning his way on Supercross here in the United States.
05:51The Spaniard is doing better every time out.
05:55Oh, there goes Malcolm again!
05:58Trying to get him what you're seeing.
05:59Jorge's slowing down so Malcolm can't cut underneath.
06:02Eventually, he keeps doing that.
06:03He's going to get that pass.
06:05I think, Malcolm, do you think he's going to run out of patience if this continues to carry on, James?
06:11If he had any to start with, but if he does, that's what you're going to say.
06:17The move would be hit right here.
06:19So, Malcolm Stewart is in search of his first top five in a triple crown race this year.
06:25And there he leaps his way into fourth place.

06:42He's not going to settle.
06:43There's absolutely no settle at all in your brother, James, as you know.
06:47And speaking with him earlier, he's kind of in a different situation to so many of these guys out here.
06:53Because here we are.
06:53We said with four rounds to go.
06:55Attrition sets in.
06:56They're deep into their season.
06:58But for Malcolm, after the injury lead that you talked about recovering from, he said he's still on the up.
07:02His trajectory is still kind of like racing into this season.
07:06So he said, I'm on the way up.
07:07Everybody else is kind of where they are.
07:09And he's held very positive about his situation today.
07:11Yeah.
07:12No, I agree with that.
07:13And it also brought the kids.
07:15So, you know, when they show up, Uncle Matt has to show up as well as Cooper Webb makes the
07:19pass around Jorge Prada.
07:20But to go back a few weekends ago, I was waiting to see what would happen between Jorge and Cooper
07:25Webb.
07:25Remember, Ricky, they got into it.
07:26Yeah.
07:27But clean pass and Cooper's on his way.
07:29Yeah.
07:30Cooper Webb was really fast earlier today in time qualifying practice.
07:34One of the front runners for sure.
07:36He just falling victim of a bad start here early.
07:40And it's so hard to make up that track position when you don't get a good start.

08:23What do you make of Cooper on this afternoon here in Ohio, JT?
08:27I think he might be raising his own sorority over there.
08:30Tri-Delta Webb, possibly.
08:31But you just wonder the emotions that he's feeling here.
08:35Wife delivers their child.
08:37He has to hop on an airplane.
08:38But he looks pretty focused here.
08:40You know, he's still chasing this championship.
08:42A lot of people have counted him out.
08:43He's 20-plus points down.
08:45But a guy like Cooper Webb is never going to give in until it's over.
08:48He finds his way to maybe climb up another position or two.
08:51He can find his way on the podium tonight.
08:52Well, you talk about Cooper Webb right here, and I haven't ruled him out.
08:56He can find his way.
08:56Or a guy like Justin Cooper as well.
08:59But listen, this man won the triple crown in Houston and didn't even win a race throughout
09:04that night.
09:05So that's another great thing about the triple crown.
09:08You can win the overall and not have a race win.
09:11Yeah, I agree with you.
09:12And in a big scheme of things, we go back with Ken Robson.
09:16And three weekends ago, he was 31 points out of the lead.
09:18And last weekend, he's within five.
09:20So Cooper Webb's well within that.
09:22And he knows, championship-wise, there's still an opportunity there.
09:26And the points-paying format in this triple crown is the lowest amount of points is what
09:32wins the night.
09:33It's kind of like golf scoring.
09:36Back up front.
09:37What a start to this triple crown for Hunter Lawrence.
09:40And James, this is an incredible ride by Hunter Lawrence.
09:44And the reason that I believe that is because, number one, he got a great start.
09:47And with everything on the line, you were talking about it before we went on air, how
09:51important it would be for either Kenny or Hunter to win this race from a championship
09:56perspective.
09:58Well, he's doing a great job out in front.
09:59Let's hear from the man himself.
10:04Just trying to get one race at a time under my belt.
10:07We're doing really well.
10:09We've had a great season.
10:10I'm just grateful.
10:11I'm grateful.
10:12I've worked so hard for this.
10:14I'm enjoying it.
10:16Yeah, just trying to take it all in, honestly, and just really enjoy it.
10:19Because there will be a time when I don't race anymore.
10:22And I'll probably look back on this and a very fond memory and stuff.
10:26So just trying to soak it all up, take it all in, and enjoy it.
10:30We're parked on the lake that looks like an ocean.
10:33It's massive in a cool venue, cool city.
10:36So, yeah, it's going to be a great weekend.
10:38Yeah, that's the one thing I love about Hunter.
10:40He does take it one race at a time.
10:42But as you were saying, Ricky, I feel like there are certain parts of the season where you just kind
10:47of make it happen.
10:48And I feel like the last couple of weekends with Hunter Lawrence being tied with Eli Tomac, you know, in
10:52this race, he has an opportunity to get some more points on Ken Roxton.
10:56And what that does, it gives him a little bit of wiggle room in case something happens.
11:00He has a little bit more room.
11:01So this is a pivotal night for him or day for him to be able to get this first win,
11:05JT.
11:06It is, James.
11:07And when you really think about the season, it has been so much about execution for Hunter Lawrence.
11:13Every time he's needed to kind of rise up and answer the bell, he's done so.
11:17Last week was a perfect example of that.
11:19And even here in race one, when Ken Roxton got into second, we all knew, Ricky mentioned it, Ken Roxton
11:24was going to throw in all the intensity, try to close that gap immediately.
11:28And Hunter responded, even though he makes a mistake there, he was able to respond, put in the same lap
11:33time as Ken Roxton.
11:34And once Kenny realized he wasn't able to close the gap, it really felt like that was a pivotal moment
11:39here in race one.
11:40Well, that was almost a pivotal moment right there for Hunter Lawrence.
11:43He got some serious whiplash there, comes up short.
11:46This track is super difficult right now.
11:49A lot of ruts forming up in between the rhythm lanes, and it's getting slick.
11:54Bottom box, you're looking at the Troy Lee-designed Red Bull Ducati behind this man here.
12:00Chase Sexton, want to talk about the next guy.
12:02There he is, the 31-year-old Frenchman Dylan Ferrandez.
12:05Multi-time 250 Supercross champ.
12:07He's an outdoor 450 motocross champion.
12:10And this is the first season for this manufacturer, this team, this outfit.
12:15Unfortunately, his teammate Justin Barsha was injured at the opening round.
12:18But this guy here is coming off his best result of the season and the best result ever for this
12:24TLD Red Bull Ducati.
12:25Sixth last weekend in Nashville.
12:27That was awesome.
12:28Oh, fantastic ride, especially on a very difficult track.
12:32That track last week was dry, very, very hard, but no surprise.
12:37Plenty capable of these type of results for sure.
12:41But going back to what you were talking about, James, and what a win could do for a guy like
12:45Hunter Lawrence's.
12:46That means he can go into next week at Philly and have a little less pressure, not be in a
12:52must situation.
12:54JT.
12:55Just to give a little weather update, you can see how shiny it's getting in some of those sections.
12:59The rain has picked up quite a bit.
13:01Now, I don't think we're going to turn into a full mud situation.
13:04But what James mentioned earlier about how slippery it is on this racetrack, that is going to be the challenge.
13:09Because it's definitely gotten worse over the last ten minutes.
13:11Yeah, just looking out of our booth.
13:14Definitely coming down harder.
13:16As time winds down, when the clock hits zero, depending on where the leader Hunter Lawrence is,
13:22there's either going to be one or two laps left.
13:25A little further back is Chase Sexton in seven.
13:29And then his teammate Garrett Marchbanks is behind him and Justin Hill coming off a season best.
13:34Fifth in Nashville.
13:35Hill runs in the 10th position.
13:38Yeah, when you think about the number four Monster Energy Kawasaki, Ricky,
13:42this is kind of the same route he had last weekend.
13:44You know, not the best of start.
13:46Looked like he just kind of got out there and rode and made his way up into the top five.
13:50And I just think that shows you how much talent this guy has.
13:53And I'm sure it's hard for him to kind of deal with that.
13:55Chase wants to win.
13:56He's a champion.
13:57But baby steps for the number four in the Kawasaki.
14:00Well, 100%.
14:01And like we talked about at the top of the show, and I went to the offseason,
14:05and as far as odds go, this would have been one of the favorites.
14:09And it's been a challenging year, needless to say, for the number four
14:14from that Monster Energy Kawasaki team, Chase Sexton.
14:16Last time we had a Triple Crown, it was at Indianapolis.
14:19And this man here, he came away with a victory.
14:23He has started this Triple Crown afternoon here in Cleveland on the sports return
14:28to this city for the first time in more than three decades.
14:32He was on board that HRC Honda Progressive machine, and Hunter Lawrence wins again
14:38and starts this Triple Crown afternoon in the best possible way.
14:43That was an impressive ride, James.
14:45Yeah.
14:46I mean, you talk about it.
14:47There's times where you just need to step up, and he did it right there.
14:51Wow.
14:52At one point, Roxanne was as close as 1.3 seconds to Hunter Lawrence.
14:58The winning margin ended up five and a half seconds.
15:02Yeah, there's probably at some point in this race, Kenny decided, I'm not going to be able to get him.
15:06We've got another two races, so.
15:08And, James, do you think that will affect Ken at all on the mental side moving forward
15:14with these next two races?
15:16Not this Kenny.
15:17Not this version of Kenny.
15:18I think he's in a solid spot.
15:20I agree with you.

15:22And this man here has told us time and again he's enjoying it.

15:27He knows how well he's riding, and he's moved into a different zone in his career.

15:34I mean, how exciting the Triple Crown is and how exciting the 250 was, the 450.
