00:30He's a professional championship in just his sophomore season, Adam.

00:33And when you're taking a look at the stats for Cole Davies through 17 races in his professional

00:39Supercross career, he ranks up there with some of the best to ever do it so far.

00:44And eye test-wise, look, he had so much speed last year, but I love what he's been able to

00:50do this year on the mental side of things.

00:52Like I said, on his bad days, how he reacts is like someone well beyond his years.

00:58Very seasoned, veteran-like performances lately, but do not sleep on the 25 of Nate Thrasher

01:04because he's hot.

01:05Absolutely, he's won a race each and every year that he's been professional in the last

01:11six years.

01:11He was the winner a week ago in Cleveland, the Triple Crown Race, Daxton Benick.

01:16And that Rockstar Energy Factory Husk of Arnorod gets that practice start as we get rolling

01:22for 250 Group A Qualifier number two, fueled by Acme.

01:26We talked a lot about Daxson earlier today, the results on paper maybe don't look the

01:31best.

01:31He's let a couple of podiums get away here in the last few weeks, but the speed has not

01:36been an issue all year long.

01:37Speaking of stats, a crazy stat that we found out last week is that Dax Benick has never

01:43been on the podium outside round one, which it doesn't make any sense because that is the

01:48hardest one to be on the podium with, but he's a guy, we know he's got the speed and I

01:54love

01:54what he's doing right now.

01:55He's not setting the world on fire, but again, it's these building blocks needed to become

02:00a race winner and an eventual champion.

02:02And I do believe that he possesses that ability, whether he gets there or not, you know, it's

02:0850-50.

02:09It's a hard jump to make, but I think he's doing all the right things right now.

02:13And we talked to Nathan Ramsey a little bit last week.

02:15I love his leadership style.

02:18He's been there, done about everything there is to do in the sport.

02:21Won a lot of races in this class.

02:23So I love the direction.

02:25I love what he's doing right here.

02:27A little 3-3 line through the whoops.

02:30I like that.

02:31It's not...

02:31You're going to have to skim the whoops on a 250.

02:35I don't really see anybody besides Cole Davies being able to skim the whoops and make it worth

02:39it.

02:40To make it that much faster than that jump line right there.

02:42I'm sure Cole Davies will find a way, but for the other guys, I think that 3-3 line, put

02:47the ego aside.

02:48I know it's nice to be one of the fastest guys skimming the whoops, but consistency-wise,

02:54I think that 3-3 line is going to be tough to beat.

02:56Dax wasting no time to throw down a fast lap as he throws down a 50.3.

03:01Once again, that man, Seth Hamaker, was fastest in Q1 with a 48.6.

03:06So that's the benchmark there.

03:08Dax was fast qualifier in Daytona in 2024, but this season he's averaging 5.6.

03:14in qualifying.

03:17I think you see Hamaker, he threw down a decent, no, not really a decent time, but I think

03:23these guys will figure out pretty quickly that the track isn't going to be as fast as

03:28it was in the last session.

03:29So it gives you a little bit more of a relaxed approach.

03:32You can come into the mechanics area a little bit more, work on the motorcycle a little

03:36bit, check out race lines.

03:38See Romano right there going down the inside of the whoops, had no radius for that corner

03:43like we've been talking about.

03:44Just made a little bit of an error there.

03:46This is going to be curious right here.

03:48Remember what Seth was talking about?

03:49Go table over table.

03:50Then does he seat bounce three?

03:52That's a big one.

03:53He's sized it up the last two laps and he mentioned to us up here in the booth that he

03:57watched Hunter Lawrence do it.

03:58He was going to go out there and try it.

03:59So he's definitely sizing it up.

04:01He sets one up right here going for a fast one.

04:04On the number 10, Seth Hamaker fastest here today so far.

04:07Can he better his 48.6 going to be tough to do?

04:11And I love what he did right there in that corner after the finish line.

04:14You saw him kind of break the back tire loose and he stayed under that kind of one big

04:19rut that's in the corner after the finish line.

04:21Big brain moves.

04:22Let's see if he does the jump line.

04:25Loses the rear end just a little bit and shuts it down.

04:28That's all it takes.

04:29If you make one little mistake on a fast lap like this, you just have to be so perfect.

04:34To get it right, you see Nate Thrasher dropping in behind him right there.

04:39Thrasher was a little bit frustrated that he cut in front of him, but let's see if he

04:43does it right here.

04:43He does.

04:44No, that's three times now.

04:46See, on a 450, a lot of these guys can go first gear because the first gear on a 450

04:52is a lot longer than a 250.

04:54I think for a 250 to get the torque you need, you would need to be in first gear.

04:58But I think you might kind of hit the top of the power a little bit too soon there.

05:03So we'll see.

05:05Handmaker going for another fast lap right here.

05:07Really curious what he does to the whoops.

05:09We mentioned he's kind of experimenting with the jump line.

05:12Let's see if that turn was unreal.

05:14It really was in the way that he controls, controls the power.

05:19You seem a little bit more careful.

05:20Last time he just got a little edge in that turn.

05:23Got it.

05:24Ooh.

05:25I don't know.

05:26I don't want to call him out.

05:27I don't want to call him out, but did jump over the tough block a little bit right there.

05:32I think the AMA is going to take a look at that one.

05:35Let's see if he does.

05:39Top in this session 49.3, so still not faster than his session earlier today as Cole Davies on a

05:46fast one right here.

05:47Let's see what he does through the whoops.

05:49We know what he's going to do.

05:50Oh, my goodness.

05:51And see, it is so difficult to beat Cole Davies regardless.

05:55But when there's a whoop section like this, I think he has 95% of the field beat on track

06:02block.

06:03Because they know.

06:04They just know.

06:05They cannot match what he does in the whoops.

06:09And it's very rare that someone comes along and is that much better than the next guy in a section.

06:15Davies able to jump that double from the inside.

06:18He goes to the top with a 49.1.

06:21That matches his best from Q1.

06:24So, maybe we're wrong.

06:26Is it going to speed up?

06:27Can they beat a 48.6?

06:28It's going to be close.

06:29We're going to see Seth go for it right here.

06:31And another thing about Cole Davies being so good in the whoops is he puts so much pressure on guys

06:37like Seth Hammacher

06:38to be so perfect around the rest of the track.

06:41And Cole, he can kind of take a little bit more of a relaxed approach knowing he can make passes

06:47there,

06:47that he's going to make up time there.

06:49See Seth get held up just a little bit.

06:55Oh, he's going to the skim line right there.

06:57You see the rear end dancing around a little bit.

06:59Oh, he saves it through there but gives up just a little bit of time.

07:02I love his technique.

07:03And I love what he was talking about with the bike setup, trying to get a little bit more forward

07:07drive,

07:07forward momentum in the whoop sections.

07:10Gone to work on that.

07:12And he does it.

07:13There he goes.

07:14I don't know if that was first or second gear but it was clean.

07:17He made it no problem as he slides the rear end into the final turn.

07:22Gets into the tough blocks.

07:23Wow.

07:24He goes to the top 48.8.

07:26Only two seconds off of his fastest in Q1 earlier today.

07:30And Seth Hamaker once again bringing a lot of speed to qualifying.

07:34I think he has a few tents on the table if he does what Dax Benick just did on your

07:39screen,

07:39jumping through the whoops.

07:40I think you saw that back in getting side to side.

07:43And even though he got through there okay for Seth, it's not something when you go through the whoops like

07:48that,

07:48it doesn't feel like that's something you can do for 15 minutes plus a lap.

07:53I'd love to see in real time.

07:56Seth talked to us about a line that he hadn't done and then we see it in real time right

08:00here on race day live to go table over table.

08:03And then he goes seat bounce triple like the 450 guys are doing able to make it clean on the

08:07250.

08:08You wonder if they're going to.

08:10Put on the pit board to Cole Davies or maybe pull him in and say, hey, this is a line

08:13that you might need to try or Dax and Bennett who's on screen.

08:17The team manager's up in the manager's tower.

08:20I know they see things like that.

08:24And you just wonder if there's some time to be made there as Davies on screen right here.

08:30See if he gets held up just a little bit in his turn.

08:33And that's what Seth Hamaker has been so good at today and really all season.

08:38It's just the middle of his corner.

08:40See Cole getting a little out of shape, but nothing too bad.

08:43And I don't mind going outside right there have a little bank instead of trying to slide into that shelf

08:49that they've made kind of going on to the start straight there.

08:53He shut this one down.

08:55I thought maybe he was going to go for it.

08:57That's how quickly these guys learn.

08:59I'm sure you got the pit board signal saying just do the table and then sit into the triple into

09:04the corner.

09:05You wonder if that's going to be the fastest signs.

09:06Davey setting up another fast one.

09:08Here we go.

09:08Just a little bit less than four minutes remaining.

09:10He's getting qualifier number two, 250 Group A qualifying.

09:15Let's pay attention in the middle of Cole Davies' turn.

09:18That's where Seth Hamaker's been just a little better so far today.

09:22See him right there.

09:23He just gets a little bit.

09:24He kind of started to break the back tire loose, but it caught that rut.

09:29Kind of hooked him up.

09:30Put him towards the edge of the turn.

09:32But this is wow.

09:34And that just requires nerves to steal right there.

09:40The heart rate just went up to 200.

09:43Well, to save that, it takes a lot of strength.

09:46It does.

09:47Absolutely.

09:47And a lot of technique to even get out of that.

09:49And you can tell the guys that have confidence in the moves because when it starts to go bad,

09:54it starts to go side to side, you'll see a lot of guys that aren't confident go back on the

09:59bike.

09:59And that's the worst thing you can do.

10:01You don't have much control at all.

10:03But someone like Cole Davies is so confident in his ability in that section.

10:08I love the way he was able to stay neutral even though the bike was all over the place.

10:11Landon Gordon throwing down a fast one sixth overall at a 50.3 as he did this line right here.

10:18And how about fourth place right now?

10:20The 65 of Marshall Welton.

10:22Wow.

10:22He has got a lot of speed here today.

10:25But Haley, tell us more about Landon Gordon, the rookie.

10:27Yeah, I saw him walking the track yesterday at press with his teammate Cole Davies.

10:31So I asked Cole about it.

10:32I said, now that he is new to the pro divisions, were you giving him any pointers, advice?

10:37Was he picking your brain?

10:38And Cole said, no, actually, and I don't have any advice to give him.

10:41This guy hasn't figured out.

10:43So Cole Davies giving a bit of a nod to his teammates.

10:48Cole Davies has a lot of respect for the rookie.

10:50There's Nate Thrasher on screen.

10:52We just have the 65 of Marshall Welton on screen as well.

10:54The MX6 Kawasaki team, 50.0 for Welton in the top five.

11:00Around a lot of factory riders and race winners, including that guy right there.

11:10Number 90 on screen right there.

11:12That's John Short.

11:13He's 19th, 51.4.

11:15And Hamaker on another fast one right here.

11:16He's not giving up, trying to get faster than that 48.6.

11:22Davies in second, 49.1.

11:23Let's see if he does this.

11:24Goes over, seat bounces at triple.

11:27He's doing it no problem.

11:28Yeah, I love that.

11:28I love the way he's able to stand, keep his momentum going over the tabletop.

11:32But that might be the line as that outside berm starts to get a little beat up.

11:38Last lap around, 49.3 for Seth Hamaker.

11:44See a good pass for Davies in the whoops, but you see he carries so much speed

11:48that by the corner almost comes up a little bit too fast for him.

11:52Gets out of the whoops, gets on the brakes, and it's so hard to turn

11:56when you're just trying to slow down.

11:59So if I had to guess later, once he starts skimming the whoops,

12:03he's going to find a way to kind of drop the front wheel two or three from the end

12:07and blip the gas with a little clutch to kind of downside that last whoop

12:12so he can get that left-hand turn and stay tight.

12:15Here he goes.

12:16Cole Davies on the number 37.

12:17Your championship points leader here in the 250 Eastern Division.

12:22He's got one more shot at it, 40 seconds remaining.

12:25This is going to be his last time around, potentially where he can get.

12:29Knocks Seth Hamaker off the top step, 48.6.

12:33There he goes again.

12:34Skims.

12:34Nice pass from the 37.

12:36And you see kind of let the front end dive down there.

12:39Two whoops from the end.

12:40Downsides the last whoop perfectly.

12:43That is the way to do it right there with that tight left-handed 90.

12:47He likes to go outside, single over the table, triple.

12:51Great corner speed there.

12:53It's a clean lap.

12:54I don't know if it's enough.

12:55Is he going to go inside and still be able to double the finish line?

12:58He is, so he would have one more opportunity.

13:02Last lap around 49.5, so it's not going to be enough.

13:06He's in the game.

13:07And this guy, we know he's a gamer.

13:10He shows up come main event time where we're paying out the points.

13:14But Seth Hamaker cannot overstate how well he's riding today.

13:19Just connecting the track.

13:21Doesn't look like it's super hard for him.

13:23Looks pretty repeatable.

13:24Wasn't sure if his fastest lap came from skimming the whoops or jumping the whoops.

13:28But corner speed right now for the 10, best in class.

13:31All right.

13:32We've all been looking at the radar all day long.

13:34There's potential rain in the area.

13:36But Haley, how's it looking down there?

13:38Well, like you said, this is something we have to keep our eye on.

13:41The weather has arrived a little ahead of schedule.

13:43But at this point, the track's dry.

13:45In that regard, it's in good condition.

13:47So it's going to take actually a considerable amount of moisture in order for it to be a factor.

13:52But it has arrived.

13:53So we'll see if it's going to come into play for the 450s coming up shortly.
