03:08Sexton is back in 10th place aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki at the moment.
03:14Hunter Lawrence, we're talking to the HRC team manager, Lars Lindstrom, yesterday.
03:21And he is as impressed as we all are with the resilience and the consistency
03:28and the demeanor of Hunter Lawrence, especially this year.
03:33We're talking about a championship winner.
03:35We're talking about a guy who's finished runner-up in the SMX World Championship
03:39the last two years in the 450 class to his brother.
03:43But there's not too many peaks and valleys.
03:45He's able to keep this very level-headed demeanor.
03:49And we told you earlier tonight, every time he's finished off the podium this year,
03:54he's come back with either a win or a second or a third.
03:57Well, and now is the time you talk about those bounce-back races.
04:01This is going to be one of the most important ones because we are running out of time.
04:06We only have two races remaining after this, Denver and Salt Lake City.
04:11And there just simply is no more time to recover from a lackluster performance.
04:18And he is doing a great job right now, keeping Kenny honest.
04:22A massive turnaround in his riding compared to how he was riding in the heat race.
04:28So, I think with getting away from Webb, he has stabilized.
04:33He's got into a good rhythm.
04:35And now he can see Kenny.
04:37Kenny's not getting away.
04:38Roxanne is in touch, within reach.
04:43Oh, there he goes.
04:44He's able to double, double, double.
04:45He's all over.
04:46Now it's going to be really, really hard to get by Kenny.
04:49And he's going to probably have to hope for a mistake from Ken.
04:53Or he's going to have to do a slide job like what we saw Bam Bam do in that heat

04:59If he's going to want to get by Ken.

05:15There's a reason there's only one point between these two.

05:21They both have a dozen top five results this year.

05:29and we got into a tie-breaking situation,
05:33it is going to be unreal to see how it plays out.

06:39You just talked, Lee, about how strong Hunter Lawrence is and how unwavering he is.
06:44And we're seeing that version of Ken Ruxon here, too.
06:47So right now, this is these guys taking it down to the last three races.
06:51And it might be whoever's strongest of mind who gets this title done in the end.
06:55Well, that's what I talked about at the top of the show.
06:58And, listen, these guys are both extremely talented.
07:01They're in great shape.
07:02They're aboard great race teams.
07:04They've got great inner circles guiding them.
07:07And at the end of the day, they're the ones that are racing these motorcycles.
07:12And they have to get the job done.
07:14And because of all the tangibles that they have, it's between the ears is what I think is going to
07:19get the job done here.
07:24This race was reduced in its duration from the traditional 20 minutes plus a lap down to 17 just because
07:31of the condition.
07:32Same as the SMX Next race.
07:34Same as the 250 East race.
07:35Oh, down goes Hunter Lawrence!
07:39Ah, there goes Cooper Webb.
07:41And we saw Hunter.
07:42Remember, he almost dropped it there several laps earlier.
07:46That's a lap that goes by.
07:47He's only going to lose one position.
07:48So, now you've got to go to big picture.
07:51First and foremost, you've got to stay upright.
07:53But you have to do everything you can to get back to Cooper Webb.
07:58It's going to be tough to get that momentum back going.
08:01Look, you can see he's having difficulty through there.
08:04JT, what do you think about this?
08:06Yeah, I echo your sentiments there.
08:08He's got to remain calm, get his heart rate back under control, understand that he's still in third.
08:13And, yeah, the conditions are a little better.
08:15I talked earlier about how muddy it is if you fall over.
08:17And that's what he cannot do, is allow one mistake to turn into several mistakes.
08:22And that, right now, he's doing what you basically said he can't do, which is panic.
08:27Last week, he won the first race in the Triple Crown.
08:31But then the night went away, especially in the third, where he fell down a couple of times.
08:36And he is so headstrong that he said, oh, he's going to laugh that one off.
08:39It was crazy.
08:41On to Philadelphia we go.
08:44But he has a challenge here now.
08:46He's lost a lot of time, just at the point where he was really pressuring Ken Rockson.
08:51Yeah, I mean, he had Ken right where he wanted him.
08:53He was in a great spot.
08:55And he made that mistake again.
08:57He almost did that several laps before.
09:00And it finally caught up with him.
09:02And, again, this is the time of the series.
09:04And we're at the championship.
09:06You have to do everything right.
09:10And he is fighting it at the moment.
09:13These conditions are incredibly challenging.
09:18And Hunter Lawrence has his hands full.
09:21He knows what's on the line.
09:23He knows what this represents.
09:27He does not want to give up too many points to Ken Rockson.
09:31Yeah, his worst, I mean, the worst thing that he's probably wanting to happen right now
09:35is for Cooper Webb to get in between him.
09:37So, at this stage, he's going to hope that Coop can catch Kenny.
09:41Maybe he'll gain some points that way.

11:04And he's found that early season speed again.
11:10I think Dean Wilson's done quite a terrific job.
11:13Yeah, since he's come back, absolutely.
11:15And coming back late in the season when these guys have been racing all year long,
11:18he's done an incredible job.
11:20But the Troy Lee Red Bull Ducati boys are together seventh and eighth.
11:25That's a tremendous comeback right for Justin Barsha.
11:28Here's Justin Hill running in fifth aboard that team Tedder KTM.
11:36And behind him is Dino.
11:40And Justin Hill's got a good run going here.
11:44You saw right there, basically from Nashville on.
11:48He's been doing a great job.
11:49And we talked to him last week at Cleveland, remember, Diff,
11:52and he was talking about, you know, how he just knows he has the talent.
11:56He believes that he's got the best bike on the track for that team Tedder machine.
12:02You said at the top of the show when I asked you about Hunter Lawrence, Ken Robson,
12:06you said the one who will get across the line to win the championship,
12:09it's all down to what's between their ears.
12:11It's all psychological.
12:13That's what Justin told us last week with himself.
12:16He said it's only me who's holding myself back or it's only me who can excel.
12:20And he said once I, you know, I've been working on that
12:23and I've taken that next step, which is really encouraging to see.
12:30Watching timing and scoring, and Ken Robson doing a great job maintaining that lead
12:35to about six to eight seconds over Cooper Webb.
12:38Still some time to go here.
12:40Again, these lappers are going to be very hard for these guys to get out of the way
12:43because of conditions.
12:45But Ken cannot lay down.
12:47It would be a huge step forward in this championship run to gain these points,
12:53take a little bit of pressure off the next couple weeks.
12:57Here's Dean Wilson.
13:00I mean, that's good.
13:0211th and 12th, that's very remarkable finishes.
13:05Again, not racing here all year long and then just hopping in midseason.
13:10Here comes Dylan Ferrandez.
13:12Ferrandez is fighting him for that sixth spot.
13:14Keep in mind where Dylan came from.
13:17The last chance qualifier and had to really grind through that
13:20after he fell in the LCQ.
13:23This is the Dylan that we know right here having a great main event.
13:28Again, he was the last position in that last chance qualifier.
13:33Sixth is a season best.
13:35And Dylan Ferrandez achieved that in Nashville a couple of weeks ago,
13:38and that's exactly where he is right now.
13:41Ken's about to lap this guy right here.
13:43That's lapping up to seventh place.
13:46That shows you how Roxen is in the zone.
13:50There you go.
13:51In a league of his own.
13:53It's going to be really important for Ken to keep this bike upright.
13:57Right now, he'll be looking ahead and timing of where he's able to get by these guys.
14:02It's going to be so crucial.
14:05Looking ahead, making sure that you pass these lappers in the perfect spot.
14:11He would leave here with the red plate.
14:15Ken Roxen has never held the points lead in the second half of the season.
14:22You remember that point in this season where he got annoyed?
14:26He got aggravated by people saying,
14:29oh, he never keeps it together.
14:31He always fades in the second half of the season.
14:33He said, I'll show you.
14:35Yeah, because...
14:36And he has.
14:37Because for most of his 450 career, he's done a lot of great work early on in the season.
14:42But, man, he has been so consistent this year in rising to the occasion when he needs to.
14:47He's looking over his shoulder there by seeing where Hunter is.
14:53Jason Thomas, what you got, bud?
14:55Well, just, you know, I wanted to add to that point.
14:57You know, Kenny was frustrated that people were kind of counting him out in the second half of the championships.
15:01But when we look back and we were trying to kind of glean what is his performance going to look
15:06like when we get to races like Denver or Salt Lake, and we didn't have much.
15:11And that's not necessarily his fault.
15:13He's had mechanical failures that caused an injury in Nashville.
15:16And he's had problems that weren't always due to lack of performance down the stretch.
15:20But the point remains, we simply don't have a lot to go off of late in the championship.
15:26So it might have been more the numbers telling the story versus him dropping off in performance.
15:31So we shall see with two and a half races to go here.
15:38This would be, if he gets this victory, this would be four wins in five races.
15:45Yeah, it's incredible.
15:46But I'm going to go ahead and tell you, I mean, I believe, I mean, we know he's capable of
15:52these kind of rides.
15:53And what's so special for me to watch him put in these performances at this time of year?
15:59It is dumping right now outside.
16:01There's another rain band coming.
16:04Track is slick.
16:09Denver, Colorado next week.
16:11Salt Lake City the week after to complete the Supercross portion of the SMX World Championship.
16:18Look at Roxton, six seconds ahead of Cooper Webb.
16:21That's the margin that he had in his heat victory.

16:27This guy has incredible balance on a motorcycle as well.
16:31So conditions like this, he's just so good at.
16:37Four seconds is that margin down from six.
16:41Cooper Webb is saying, don't discount me.

16:47We've seen him come back in some wet races.
