05:22Cousvahna, make that land and Gordon has made a move, Cody Shock is in the mix, Romano who had to
05:27come through the last chance qualifier, Nick is nicely in the top 10 in 7, behind Davies and then Derek
05:35Kelly, Isaiah Clark and Gavin Towers, top 10.
05:38And James, these, you know, these triple crowns are so important and the reason that we say that is because
05:43if you're able to have two good first races, you can kind of set the tone for the third one.
05:49You're not in a do or die situation. So very important for the guys like Nate Thrasher and Hammacher to
05:54have a good first and second race. Yeah, I agree. I mean, it's pretty simple. Just lowest points of wins
06:01at this. So 1.1.2 and you go there. So Cole Davies can get back up to at least
06:06that third position, maybe at least
06:08four, if you have a good shot. But right now, the one guy who wants to start moving up is
06:12our second place, Seth Hammacher, trying to get around Nate Thrasher.
06:16Look at the bottom box. That's Cody Shock trying to hold off. Cole Davies for a top five. Oh, and
06:23Davies almost goes down for the second time in this race.
06:26Yeah, and what's happening right now, Cole is trying to get out of the main lines and because the track
06:31has a little bit of water on it from this rain and it's loose, when you cut out of that,
06:35you get low, you just start losing rear end.
06:37And that's what happened to him. Good save by him. Good move here. Hammacher flicks it back, accelerates.
06:43He knows that Thrasher's going to come up the inside here on this next ball turn and gets the lead
06:47back.
06:48Yeah, Nate had to do that. Looks like Seth gets back up on the inside. Now he's probably going to
06:53slow down, try to block Nate.
06:55Good riding move right there.
06:56And this is big for Seth Hammacher, who has been losing points the last two rounds.
07:02He could finally get something back on championship leader Cole Davies. Will?
07:08Lee, when I spoke to Seth Hammacher yesterday about this format and what it could open up for him opportunity
07:14-wise, he was well aware of it.
07:16He was just his usual kind of calm self. He had it together and he's like, anything can happen and
07:21I need things to get switched up here.
07:24What we just saw to Cole Davies was exactly what he had in mind. Points pay for the night in
07:29this main event.
07:30And if he can keep this up and take advantage, he could claw back some of the bigger points there
07:34in the championship.
07:35That's exactly what he needed. Want to remind you to scan the QR code you're about to see on your
07:39screen, bottom left, for a chance to win an Insta360 camera.
07:44It's fast, it's easy. Scan it now. End it to win. Good luck.
07:47And one thing I think that you're seeing going back to Cole Davies and making those small mistakes, the corners
07:54are a little bit different this weekend than they have been basically all season long.
07:57Not kind of traditional. They're big, sandy, loose corners where a lot of times in Supercross, there's a bunch of
08:04ruts.
08:04If you watch Supercross, you know what we're talking about. We'll throw a demonstration, but you can see their big,
08:09powdery berms makes it very difficult to pass when everyone's taking the same line and there's not a lot of
08:16ruts in the corners.
08:17So the man leading the race and second in the championship points, how does he feel about this format of
08:22Triple Crown racing?
08:26Yeah, Triple Crown always brings out some chaos, but my plan is to get off to some good starts, ride
08:32my own race, stay out of the chaos, and just kind of try and worry about myself.
08:36I'm sure the track's going to be a challenge in itself and I'm going to have to be laser focused.
08:41So yeah, that's kind of my plan going into it, but yeah, stay consistent and hopefully get the overall win.
08:47James, what's your thoughts on the Triple Crown format?
08:49I mean, I love it. I never had a chance to race. They didn't have this format back in my
08:53day. I would have loved this, but I also feel like you're in this position where Seth is, maybe somebody
08:57who pressures a little bit off of you, you know, you need things to happen for you to claw back
09:01some of these points, so you're a little bit more loose.
09:04But at the end of the day, I feel like this Triple Crown maybe gives you a little bit of
09:07room to have a Cole Davies moment where you go down and maybe not, I guess, try to get that
09:12top five.
09:13See these whoop sections right there. Simonson, pardon me, is that Cody Schock, Cody Schock, number 22 there, Club MX
09:22Yamaha.
09:23Of course, Cole Davies with number 37, Red Plate, championship leader.
09:27They are blitzing the whoops, getting on top of them, going from peak to peak.
09:31Later on throughout this race and what they're doing in time qualifying practice, they were jumping through. Remember, we showed
09:37you Eli Tomek going down. They're very skatey, and you can catch an edge, and you can end up on
09:43your lid really quick if you're not being careful and mindful of them.
09:46Yeah, and what's making this worse, you can't tell on TV, but it's starting to rain, and it's that light
09:50rain, so all these shiny spots are going to make it even more difficult, as Ricky said.
09:54These whoops are really slippery, so the more this rain comes down, if it stays like this, it's going to
09:59be really tough for these guys to witness traction.
10:02This is very, very unusual to see Cole Davies in this position.
10:07At the first round of the 250 East Division Championship, we saw him go down in the main event and
10:13have to work his way back.
10:14He ended up finishing fifth. It was a tremendous comeback.
10:17Ever since then, the guy hasn't finished worse than second, so that's why we're a little shocked to see this
10:21happening, but proof that the teenager is fallible.
10:24James, it seems like when I was watching, well, number one, oh!
10:28Cody's shot comes up big time short after that corner trying to triple out, but watching Cole, it just looks
10:35like he was overriding, like trying to get a little too aggressive.
10:39Have you seen the same thing from him?
10:40No, I completely agree, and if you look at his body language now, this is what I said at the
10:44opening time of the show, like composure.
10:47Right now, he's just kind of letting things happen. He's not going to push it.
10:50As you mentioned earlier, it was a little bit unlike Cole Davies, and you saw a few of those mistakes,
10:54but I think he understands there's three races.
10:56He needs to just try to get up as high as he can, and he'll still have a shot at
10:59this overall.
11:00Big swing in the points, though, in the favor of Hamaka.
11:03Hamaka, 19 down coming in points as they run right now. Hamaka would shave that to 10.
11:08That's how important it is with two more races to go this afternoon, as James just said.
11:12Yeah, and that's the beauty of the triple crown.
11:14Could you imagine if this was just a regular format?
11:17You know, this would be a big blow to Cole Davies' points lead that he has, and the 10 of
11:24Hamaka would insert himself back in.
11:27So this is kind of a blessing in disguise if you think about it from Cole, because he's got two
11:31more races to redeem himself.
11:33The 25-year-old from Bainbridge, Pennsylvania, will be in Philly next week, by the way.
11:37But this has been just what the Supercross doctor ordered.
11:41How about that? Race one. It's victory to Seth Hamaka.
11:45Meanwhile, Cole Davies has got his way into the top five, past Cody Schock.
11:49Thrasher gets second, Benek third, Landon Gordon fourth, and then Cole Davies a top five.
11:57He had to work hard for that, but well done, Seth Hamaka.
11:59After crashing multiple times in the main event last weekend in Nashville,
12:03and then being penalized two positions for short-cutting the track,
12:09he's responded in the most emphatic way.
12:12Awesome stuff. We'll hear from Seth when we come back.
12:15Thank you.
12:16Thank you.
