02:03These guys fighting hard for that track position, and to be in first place.

02:14He wants to be up there with these guys, not getting lapped by them.

02:20If you're Hunter Lawrence right now, just do the best that you can to keep alongside or
02:27right behind Kenny, maybe force Kenny in a mistake, it's gonna be really hard to do that.

02:34Oh, he almost loses it, Hunter does going off, but if he's able to keep the pressure on Ken,
02:39it's gonna force Ken to maybe get out of his comfort zone.
02:43Oh, Hunter having some massive problems right here.

02:48Cooper Webb, he's seeing that, and seeing those falters, and then now he's right there
02:55with the Honda HRC progressive rider.
02:58Cooper Webb doing a great job as well.
03:00Hanging in here, not giving up on this fight, still mathematically has a chance to do it.
03:07Lee, you talked about it earlier this week that Chase Sexton was in this points situation
03:16years, a couple years ago when he won the Supercross championship with only three races to go.
03:22Sexton is back in 10th place aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki at the moment.
03:28Hunter Lawrence, we're talking to the HRC team manager Lars Lindstrom yesterday.
03:35and he is as impressed as we all are with the resilience and the consistency and the demeanor of Hunter
03:45Lawrence, especially this year.
03:47We're talking about a championship winner.
03:50We're talking about a guy who's finished runner up in the SMX World Championship the last two years in the
03:54450 class to his brother.
03:56But there's not too many peaks and valleys. He's able to keep this very level-headed demeanor.
04:03And we told you earlier tonight, every time he's finished off the podium this year, he's come back with either
04:09a win or a second or a third.
04:10Well, and now is the time you talk about those bounce-back races.
04:15This is going to be one of the most important ones because we are running out of time.
04:20And we have two races remaining after this, Denver and Salt Lake City.
04:25And there just simply is no more time to recover from a lackluster performance.
04:32And he is doing a great job right now keeping Kenny honest.
04:36A massive turnaround in his riding compared to how he was riding at the beginning.
04:41Yeah, in the heat race. So...
04:43I think with getting away from Webb, he has stabilized. He's got into a good rhythm.
04:49And now he can see Kenny. Kenny's not getting away.
04:52Roxanne is in touch, within reach.
04:57Oh, there he goes. He's able to double, double, double. He's all over.
05:00Now it's going to be really, really hard to get by Ken.
05:04He's going to probably have to hope for a mistake from Ken.
05:07Or he's going to have to do a slide job like what we saw Bam Bam do in that heat
05:13race if he's going to want to get by Ken.
05:17But...
05:18Very impressive ride for both of these guys right here.
05:21And it's just like you got one foot in, one foot out, Lee, waiting for something to happen.
05:26But these guys are so good at their craft.
05:29There's a reason there's only one point between these two.
05:32They both have four wins. They both have ten podiums.
05:35They both have a dozen top five results this year.
05:39Yeah, and that's the crazy thing, Will, is if it goes down to that last race and we got into
05:44a tie-breaking situation,
05:47it is going to be unreal to see how it plays out.

05:59Kenny knows the fight is real now.
06:02Took a crack at him right there and rarely do you see Hunter Lawrence making moves like that.
06:07But it is championship time.
06:11Eleven minutes plus a lap to go.
06:14There is so much to unfold.
06:18How quickly can Hunter Lawrence get back up there for another shot at Rockson?
06:23Let's hope that the Lappers do not play a part in this championship battle.
06:27There's Jorge Prado.
06:28He's a pass Champlain.
06:30Hopefully he'll give way.
06:32And he does.
06:33Looking over.
06:34Lots of racing left to go here.
06:36And man, could you have ever thought this would be how it would play out, Will?
06:47Matched on track, Ricky, throughout the season like you said.
06:51But this is such a mental match too.
06:53You just talked to Lee about how strong Hunter Lawrence is and how unwavering he is.
06:58We're seeing that version of Ken Rockson here too.
07:01So right now, this is these guys taking it down to the last three races.
07:05And it might be whoever's strongest of mind who gets this title done in the end.
07:09Well, that's what I talked about at the top of the show.
07:12And listen, these guys are both extremely talented.
07:15They're in great shape.
07:16They're aboard great race teams.
07:18They got great inner circles guiding them.
07:20And at the end of the day, they're the ones that are racing these motorcycles.
07:26And they have to get the job done.
07:28And because of all the tangibles that they have, it's between the ears is what I think is going to
07:33get the job done here.
07:38This race was reduced in its duration from the traditional 20 minutes plus a lap down to 17 just because
07:45of the conditions.
07:46Same as the SMX next race.
07:48Same as the 250 East race.
07:50Down goes Hunter Lawrence.
07:54There goes Cooper Webb.
07:55And we saw Hunter.
07:56Remember, he almost dropped it there several laps earlier.
08:00That's a lapper goes by.
08:01He's only going to lose one position.
08:02So now you've got to go to big picture.
08:05First and foremost, you've got to stay upright.
08:07But you have to do everything you can to get back to Cooper Webb.
08:13Going to be tough to get that momentum back going.
08:15Look, you can see he's having difficulty through there.
08:18JT, what do you think about this?
08:19Yeah, I echo your sentiments there.
08:22He's got to remain calm.
08:23Get his heart rate back under control.
08:25Understand that he's still in third.
08:27And yeah, the conditions are a little better.
08:29I talked earlier about how muddy it is if you fall over.
08:31And that's what he cannot do is allow one mistake to turn into several mistakes.
08:36And that right now he's doing what you basically said he can't do, which is panic.
08:41Last week, he won the first race in the Triple Crown.
08:45But then the night went away, especially in the third where he fell down a couple of times.
08:50And he is so headstrong that he said, oh, he's going to laugh that one off.
08:53It was crazy.
08:55Onto, onto Philadelphia we go.
08:58But he has a challenge here now.
09:00He's lost a lot of time just at the point where he was really pressuring Ken Rockson.
09:05Yeah, I mean, he had Ken right where he wanted him.
09:07He was in a great spot.
09:09And he made that mistake again.
09:11He almost did that several laps before and it finally caught up with him.
09:16And again, this is the time of the series.
09:18And then we're at the championship.
09:20You have to do everything right.
09:24And he is fighting it at the moment.
09:27These conditions are incredibly challenging.
09:32And Hunter Lawrence has his hands full.
09:36He knows what's on the line.
09:37He knows what this represents.
09:41He does not want to give up too many points to Ken Rockson.
09:45I mean, the worst thing that he's probably wanting to happen right now is for Cooper Webb to get in
09:51between him.
09:51So at this stage, he's going to hope that Coop can catch Kenny.
09:55Maybe he'll gain some points that way.

10:22These last two, three races for Justin Hill have been remarkable from Nashville onwards.

10:30Feeling the pressure there from Hunter and still just hitting his lines perfectly.

10:37And again, he rides these conditions so well, doing everything right.

11:02The Quad Lock guys doing a good job tonight with two in the top nine, three in the top nine.
11:11Joey leading the charge.
11:15That foot's getting better.
11:16Yeah.
11:16And he's spending more time on the bike.
11:18Yeah.
11:18And he's found that early season speed again.
11:24I think Dean Wilson's done quite a terrific job.
11:27Yeah, since he's come back.
11:28Absolutely.
11:29And coming back late in the season when these guys have been racing all year long, he's done an incredible
11:33job.
11:34The Troy Lee Red Bull Ducati boys are together seventh and eighth.
11:39That's a tremendous comeback right for Justin Barsha.
11:42Here's Justin Hill running in fifth aboard that Team Tedder KTM.
11:50And behind him is Dino.
11:54Yeah, Justin Hill's got a good run going here.
11:58You saw right there basically from Nashville on.
12:02He's been doing a great job.
12:03And we talked to him last week at Cleveland.
12:06Remember Diff?
12:07And he was talking about, you know, how he just, he knows he has the talent.
12:10He believes that he's got the best bike on the track for that Team Tedder machine.
12:16You said at the top of the show when I asked you about Hunter Lawrence, Ken Rockson.
12:20You said, the one who will get across the line to win the championship, it's all down to what's between
12:25their ears.
12:26Yeah.
12:26It's all psychological.
12:27That's what Justin told us last week with himself.
12:30He said, it's only me who's holding myself back or it's only me who can excel.
12:34And he said, once I, you know, I've been working on that and have taken that next step, which is
12:41really encouraging to see.
12:44Watching timing and scoring and Ken Rockson doing a great job maintaining that lead to about six to eight seconds
12:51over Cooper Webb.
12:52Still some time to go here.
12:54Again, these lappers going to be very hard for these guys to get out of the way because of conditions.
12:59But Ken cannot lay down.
13:01It would be a huge step forward in this championship run to gain these points.
13:07Take a little bit of pressure off the next couple of weeks.
13:11Here's Dean Wilson.
13:14I mean, that's, that's good.
13:1611th and 12th.
13:17That's very remarkable finishes.
13:19Again, not racing here all year long and then just hopping in mid season.
13:24Here comes Dylan Ferrandez.
13:26Ferrandez is fighting him for that sixth spot.
13:28Keep in mind where Dylan came from.
13:31The last chance qualifier and had to really grind through that after he fell in the LCQ.
13:36This is the Dylan that we know right here having a great main event.
13:42And again, he was the last position in that last chance qualifier.
13:47Sixth is a season best.
13:49And Dylan Ferrandez achieved that in Nashville a couple of weeks ago.
13:52And that's exactly where he is right now.
13:55Ken's about to lap this guy right here.
13:57That's lapping up to seventh place.
14:00Yeah.
14:00That shows you how Roxton is in the zone.
14:04There you go.
14:05In a league of his own.
14:07It's going to be really important for Ken to keep this bike upright right now.
14:12Be looking ahead and timing of where he's able to get by these guys.
14:16It's going to be so crucial looking ahead, making sure that you pass these lappers in the perfect spot.
14:25He would leave here with the red plate.
14:30Ken Roxton has never held the points lead in the second half of the season.
14:36You remember that point in this season where he got annoyed.
14:40He got aggravated by people saying, oh, he never keeps it together.
14:45He always fades in the second half of the season.
14:47He said, I'll show you.
14:49Yeah, because.
14:50And he has.
14:51Because for most of his 450 career, he's done a lot of great work early on in the season.
14:56But man, he has been so consistent this year in rising to the occasion when he needs to.
15:01He's looking over his shoulder there by seeing where Hunter is.
15:07Jason Thomas, what you got, bud?
15:09Well, just, you know, I wanted to add to that point.
15:11You know, Kenny was frustrated that people were kind of counting him out in the second half of the championships.
15:15But when we looked back and we were trying to kind of glean what is his performance going to look
15:20like
15:21when we get to races like Denver or Salt Lake, and we didn't have much.
15:25And that's not necessarily his fault.
15:27He's had mechanical failures that caused an injury in Nashville.
15:30And he's had problems that weren't always due to lack of performance down the stretch.
15:35But the point remains, we simply don't have a lot to go off of late in the championship.
15:40So it might have been more the numbers telling the story versus him dropping off in performance.
15:45So we shall see with two and a half races to go here.
15:51This would be, if he gets this victory, this would be four wins in five races.
15:58Yeah, it's incredible.
16:00But I'm going to go ahead and tell you, I mean, I believe, I mean, we know he's capable of
16:06these kind of rides.
16:07And what's so special for me to watch him put in these performances at this time of year.
16:12It is dumping right now outside. There's another rain band coming. Track is slick.
16:23Denver, Colorado next week. Salt Lake City the week after to complete the Supercross portion of the SMX World Championship.
16:32Look at Roxton six seconds ahead of Cooper Webb. That's the margin that he had in his heat victory.
16:39Yeah, he's cruising. This guy has incredible balance on a motorcycle as well.
16:45So conditions like this, he's just so good at.
16:51Four seconds is that margin down from six. Cooper Webb is saying, don't discount me.
16:59I'm not done with yet. We've seen him come back in some wet races.
17:04Yeah, remember Foxborough, Foxborough, yeah. Late race charge now. He's going to have to get after it right here.
17:10There's two more laps to go from this point on. He's going to need some help from the lappers.
17:15Hopefully everybody can hear him revving the motorcycle in the air.
17:19Oh, and this is going to really slow Kenny up. And there's the gap.
17:302.8 seconds. Cooper Webb is just taking chunks of time out of Ken Robson.
17:37And look at that. Now we're talking bike lengths. Two, three bike lengths.
17:41It is on with less than two laps to go.
17:44I mean, Kenny got to continue to do what he's doing. Oh, Coop messes up a little bit right there,
17:49but gets close.
17:51Oh, great riding by Christian Craig.
17:58This is incredible.
18:00Oh, there's some urgency from Kenny. He's starting to ride a bit faster right there.
18:04Laying the bike into the corner right there.
18:07He can feel Coop right there. Look at he pulls back out.
18:12This is going to come down to a last lap classic.
18:15And these guys have had last lap passes before.
18:19Yeah, he has.
18:20In favor of Cooper Webb.
18:21Kenny has cooked in the afterburners right here.
18:24He's got to make sure that he executes and jumps this rhythm lane.
18:28If he doesn't, he's going to lose a ton of time.

18:45Gentle, steady, keep it smooth.
18:48Here comes Webb. He's trying his best.

18:58Well, if Rocks it can hang on, he's going to tie the legend Ricky Johnson on 28 career wins.

19:59So he continues that amazing bounce back pattern on.
