01:04Let's take a look at Q1 times earlier today.
01:07It was Tomac on top.
01:09And the two red plate holders, a share of that championship points lead here in the 450 premier class.
01:15Hunter Lawrence was second.
01:16Jorge Prado, a Red Bull KTM rider, has been great all season long.
01:20And Ken Rockson, he's got a winning streak going two in a row.
01:22Can he do three in a row like he did in 2021 at Indianapolis?
01:26But it's going to be a lot of guys that have a lot to say about this championship fight,
01:30not just those three guys.
01:31Cooper Webb's 25 points down, but a guy like Malcolm Stewart or Justin Cooper,
01:35they could absolutely get in the mix.
01:37Oh, they can.
01:38And that's what makes this championship so unique to me.
01:42We have a three rider fight for the championship,
01:44but we maybe have a group of six or seven riders that if they're agreeing with the track and the
01:50bike
01:50and they're just on a heater that day, they can go out there and win the race as well.
01:54So just so many storylines to follow.
01:56It's been a great year watching these legends go at it.
01:59All right, here we go.
02:00AC 450 group A qualifier number two gates about to drop.
02:04We are fueled by Kroger.
02:06There you see the three-time Supercross champ lined up in between Hunter Lawrence and Eli Tomac.
02:11Who's going to get there first?
02:13Tomac rockets out the second half of that start straight, overshoots the first turn,
02:18but that's kind of what the practice starts all about, where your breaking points are.
02:21Exactly.
02:22You said it, JB.
02:23It's so difficult to remain disciplined.
02:25Going into the first corner in the heat race or the main event,
02:29a lot of times there's at least one or two guys that go so fast into the corner that they
02:34end up drifting all the way on the outside.
02:36You've got to know exactly where to shut it down.
02:39Man, this sand section, lap one of the heat races and main event, later on today, it is going to
02:45be absolute chaos.
02:46You're not going to want to miss it.
02:47Miss it 3 o'clock Eastern time, live on NBC, Peacock as well, and that SMX video pass.
02:53About the 94, Ken Rockson.
02:55He was fast qualifier last week for the first time since Indianapolis 2025.
03:00And Ken was a little bit surprised himself last week.
03:03It's almost like he did it on accident.
03:04That's how good he was a week ago.
03:06Yeah, and that's just what happens when you're riding with so much confidence, right?
03:10And Ken, I just think everything's coming to him.
03:14He's just coming to him a bit easier this year.
03:17The speed and even some of his in-race decision-making.
03:21We saw a bunch of very quick, decisive moves at the beginning of the race last weekend.
03:26It just seems like there's a calmness about him that hasn't been there in the past.
03:30How good does Ken Rockson's bike look through those whoops?
03:33It was so planted.
03:34And look, Ken, he's amazing.
03:35He's one of the best guys in the whoops that we've ever seen in the sport.
03:40But still, that Suzuki's working extremely well for the 94.
03:43Well, typically, with each manufacturer, you get a new chassis on the bike.
03:48You get some updates year to year.
03:50But you get a new chassis every four years.
03:52And Ken Rockson has been on the same chassis since 2018.
03:55So I think there's a lot to the continuity there.
03:58He knows what he's going to get doing the three out of the corner.
04:02Three, again, that's the first time we've seen those guys do it today.
04:05They may be able to four, as we were talking about with Colin Park earlier.
04:09But you mentioned not liking the single into the turn in this next section.
04:12So if they go four there, they'll single into that 90-degree right-hand turn.
04:16Is there something there that maybe they don't do the four because of the single end of the turn?
04:21Potentially.
04:21I can see your point there.
04:22Because when you're landing in that right-hand turn before the mechanics area, it's super slick.
04:27A lot of acceleration bumps.
04:28So definitely something to keep an eye on.

04:32He triples to the outside right there.
04:33I still like the triple to the inside.
04:35It's very hard to get as he's trying to get around Hunter Lawrence.
04:38He's on a fast one right here but getting a little bit held up as other guys are trying to
04:41get some clear track.
04:42Eli Tomac fastest in Q1.
04:45And he looks fast here in Q2 once again.
04:47Let's see what this time is.

04:54That was pretty baller of Ken.
04:57Ken knew that Eli was behind him, no doubt.
05:00And sometimes you don't want to show your competition, your lines, and your speed.
05:05And so I like that Kenny just threw it down.

05:10That's a pretty good time for your first fast lap.
05:13I think we may see a 50.9.
05:16A little over eight minutes remaining here in qualifier number two.

05:21He's going to throw down another one here in just a little bit.
05:24Chase Sexton had a big get-off in qualifier number one.
05:27Let's see what he can do here in Q2.
05:31Triple from the inside.
05:32That was nice.
05:33And you think back to his win earlier this season in Anaheim 2.
05:38And it was kind of similar conditions, if I remember correctly.
05:42It was a little bit more hard-packed.
05:44It was a lot of loose dirt.
05:45It was slick.
05:46So whatever he was struggling with on the bike,
05:49it looked like it was the best in those type of conditions,
05:52at least earlier in the year.
05:54So we'll be interested to see how it translates this afternoon.
06:00Chase Sexton, the only rider to qualify fastest in both classes here in Nashville.
06:05250 class in 2019, he was fastest.
06:07Then 450 class just a few years ago.
06:10In 2023, he was fastest.
06:12And look, Chase Sexton, no stranger to going fast on a motorcycle.
06:14Oh, I mean, remember those laps we were watching at the end of last season in qualifying?
06:20There were times where you're thinking, nobody can go any faster than this.
06:24But I think for him right now, it's just about, he just needs some solid results,
06:28some positivity to kind of get the momentum back.
06:32Obviously, he knows what he's capable of.
06:34But still, even for a rider of his caliber, just getting some solid results that second
06:39that he had in Detroit a couple weeks ago.
06:43Things like that as Malcolm Stewart tucks the front there.
06:46We're going to be seeing that a lot today.
06:49Looked like they were sort of on a fast lap together.
06:51They were both laying it down.
06:52Malcolm goes down in front of Chase as Jorge Prado's on a fast lap.
06:56His Tomek goes to the top.
06:57Fastest lap of the day so far, 51.4.

07:08Well, we saw it last weekend from him.
07:10He was fastest in the session.
07:11And as soon as he got the helmet off before the interview, he told me, best feeling ever.
07:15So he's coming back to form and looking at some of his best results of the year.
07:19Of course, the podium at A1, then the P5 in Glendale, dry slick conditions.
07:23The exception to that, however, last weekend, P4, his second best finish of the season,
07:27not exactly the dry slick.
07:29I think he's starting to be decent in all sorts of conditions.
07:32And maybe race and Kyler, Team Del Napoliet, who he had on early in the show.
07:35She might be on to something here.
07:37We'll see.

07:45It was a very, very popular victory between the fans, everybody in the paddock.

07:55Oh, he saved it this time.
07:56He was down in the sand of Lapigo, nearly goes down again.
07:59And that's just grown man Malcolm Stewart's strength right there, keeping the bike up.
08:04Once it starts going like it started there for Malcolm, so difficult to not go down.
08:09But if anybody can pull it out, it's a 27.
08:12Malcolm goes to 7th, 52.6.
08:14Here's Hunter Lawrence on your screen.
08:16The share of that red plate, the championship points leader tied up with Eli Tomac.
08:21Hunter 5th right now, the 52.1.
08:23That doesn't better his first time with a 51.6 earlier today.
08:28He elects to go double single to the inside.
08:31I wonder if that's going to be a race line later on tonight.

08:48Hunter Lawrence, two times, has qualified fastest this year.

08:52But he's not necessarily a guy that's going to qualify fastest a lot of the time.
08:57But we've seen him in the top five, in the top three more often than not this year.

09:07But, wow, he got on the brakes early.

09:17It's interesting to see if they learn something like we mentioned earlier.

09:26So, he's elected not to go to that.
09:28And you see how he kind of brake slid and kept under where that berm is starting to chunk away.

09:35Good speed through the sand.
09:37Carries momentum around the outside.
09:40Saw a lap.
09:41This isn't going to go to the top of the board.
09:42But it might better his time.
09:4451-4 is the time to beat.
09:46What does Hunter do?
09:48He goes 51.5.
09:49So, he did better his best time.
09:51But a tenth of a second off of Tomek.
09:53And there was some room for improvement there.
09:55Oh, absolutely.
09:56I saw some little mistakes.
09:57As did you, JB.
09:59And that, as a rider, if you know you left a little time out there, it doesn't really bother you
10:03that bad if you're not the fastest.
10:05As long as you know there's more speed.
10:07That last lap around for Tomek was a 51.9.
10:1151-4 is his best.
10:12How about the top three in the championship?
10:14Top three in qualifying right now.
10:16And I wonder if the line that we saw Ken Rockson and Eli Tomek do after the finish line, tripling
10:23out, tripling again, and then going over the tabletop double.
10:26I wonder if that is going to be the line in this afternoon's race.
10:30Ken Rockson was on a fast one.
10:32And he did a 51.972 that last lap around.
10:36That's a pretty solid time.
10:38Anything in the 51s is really, really fast right now.

10:46Savace's been great this season.
10:47Sixth in the championship points.
10:48He's tenth right now in qualifying with a 52.7.
10:52As he's going on another fast lap.

10:55And if there was, in the NBA, there's the most improved player award.
10:59If we had a most improved rider award, I'm giving it to Joey Savace every single time.
11:05Hunter Lawrence, you know, that's a tough one.
11:08He's been so much better as well.
11:10But really, this season for Joey Savace, highly underrated, I think.
11:14It's been incredible watching him go to work.
11:17This is a guy on screen, Justin Cooper.
11:19You think he could get his first win in the next five?
11:21Oh, yeah.
11:22There's no doubt about it.
11:23I mean, I think his starts being inconsistent, that's why we maybe haven't seen him battle
11:28for more podiums this year.
11:30But we've seen it time and time again.
11:32These rides through the field.
11:33He's making these passes.
11:35He's so good in the turns.
11:36I think he's starting to figure the whoops out a little bit.
11:39But I do think he's in winning form.
11:42It's one of those deals where, is he going to beat Hunter Lawrence, Ken Roxson, Eli Tomac
11:48straight up if they all start at the front of the race?
11:50Probably not.
11:51But if it goes his way and he's feeling it, it could happen.
11:56Oh, it looked like Hunter Lawrence was on a really fast one right there.
11:58Made a mistake in the sand section.
12:00And once again, you're going to want to tune in 3 o'clock Eastern Time live on NBC because
12:04that sand section is going to wreak some havoc in the heat races and main events later on
12:09today.
12:09We've got a day race here in Nashville, Music City.
12:13It's going to be a ton of fun.
12:14Malcolm Stewart on a fast one.
12:15Look at that whoop speed from the 2.7.
12:17And I'm just seeing all these guys, even the guys that are really good in the whoops like
12:21Malcolm, they're really, because the corner is so close to the start of the first whoop,
12:25there is only so much speed you can go in with.
12:28We're not really seeing a bunch of guys have a big advantage like we've seen in weeks past.

13:55There's just not the hesitation that there's been in the last few weeks kind of during this slump.
14:01It just looks like he has just more control of the bike.
14:05He knows what it's going to do.

14:11Well, every time our camera guys have gotten to him, he has been on a fast one.
14:17I mean, from Q1 earlier today, Colin Park mentioned it.
14:21We've talked about it from the first lap of qualifying.
14:23You could tell that he was going to have a great day.

14:29His second fast is a 51.5, but his very fastest is a 51.4.
14:34And if it ends like this, which it looks like it is, Hunter Lawrence still on track.

14:41If it ends like this, this would be Eli Tomac's 50th time fast qualifier overall in the sessions individually.
14:50Oh, that was Cooper Webb down in the sand right there.
14:53That section, I'm telling you, I see it's going to be challenging all day long.
14:57And you saw Hunter Lawrence there.
14:59He's a little frustrated.
15:00We don't normally see like a show of emotion like that for Hunter.
15:03We're getting down to the nitty-gritty in this championship, and all these little things matter.

15:10Eli Tomac has won 18 times when he has been fastest qualifier.
15:15Man, Clinton Fowler had some stats this week that when Eli Tomac qualifies well, he almost always races well.
15:22I have a hunch that's going to happen here in Nashville, I see.
