00:00Hello, welcome to the CV's Flight Channel.
00:36One rider who really intrigued me in that first race was Red Bull KTM's Jorge Prado.
00:41He was up there in the top five and putting on a tremendous scrap with Malcolm Stewart,
00:46and then he just disappeared. He went from top five to finishing 14th.
00:52It was a very strange race. This guy here who is, in his own words,
00:57is learning more and more about Supercross with each and every race weekend that he does.
01:02That was very surprising for him. So let's see what the Spaniard can do in this second race.
01:06We know, as Ricky mentioned earlier, he is a master at the whole shot with five this season,
01:12the same as Hunter Lawrence.
01:14And I feel like these wetter conditions certainly would help his cause,
01:18like growing up in Europe racing the, you know, GPs over there in inclement weather quite often.
01:26like this fits right in his wheelhouse to do well.
01:28Speaking of the weather, it has, the wind has increased dramatically inside this Huntington Bank stadium.
01:40Incredibly so. It is still raining just lightly, but the wind has increased substantially.
01:49Harrison has a problem. Oh, what a shame for Mitchell. Gates it out on race two of the 450s.
01:57And it's Justin Cooper, Chase Sexton with two terrific starts.
02:01Horrible start for Hunter Lawrence back there, but he sneaks around the inside.
02:06He was buried in the pack. Yeah. Heads up riding by Hunter.
02:10But it's going to be interesting to watch if we get a replay what he does going down that start
02:14straight,
02:14trying to pop in his, uh, his start device off.
02:17But we saw in that 250 class how hard it was for these guys to pass.
02:21You're going to want to watch. Oh, Ken Roxxon comes up short.
02:24Keep your eye on Ken Roxxon and Chase, or pardon me, Hunter Lawrence.
02:31That is going to be the key. Oh, wow. Look at Kenny.
02:35How about Malcolm Stewart in good form in this one. Here comes Cooper Webb on the one.
02:41Blasts out of that or cross that flat track section.
02:43Nearly 60 miles an hour. Roxxon is side by side with Malcolm.
02:47And spare a thought for Mitchell Harrison.
02:49Yeah, Ricky, you saw Cooper take a look at that inside.
02:52He was thinking about diving on the inside of Kenny, but Kenny went on the inside to try to get
02:56on Malcolm.
02:58Cooper's going to go for two for, uh-oh, Bogo time two for one. Cooper Webb.
03:04That's right. Man, Cooper didn't even back off.
03:07He just leaned right into Kenny and it stood Kenny up.
03:11He heard Will talking about him and said, all right, it's time to go.
03:17The winner of the first Triple Crown of the year in Texas.
03:21Yeah, I think Cooper wrote good in that first race, but his starting position was the reason why he finished
03:26where he was.
03:26He's been riding good all day long. He's a lot closer to the lead and he's got his teammate up
03:31front.
03:32Chase Sexton's in between them, but Chase has had a struggle so far this year.
03:35I think Cooper, if you can get to him, try to make short work if he possibly can.
03:41Where is Hunter Lawrence? He's in sixth place.
03:45There's Malcolm Stewart. Got his first Triple Crown top five of the year in race one.
03:50He's going to have to be forced to work hard, Ricky, to keep another top five here because here comes
03:55the championship leader.
03:56Yeah, it's a lot of racing left here. So many things can happen.
04:00These conditions, I feel, are going to change a lot, James, especially now that the rain is starting to back
04:06off a little bit.
04:07Some of these ruts in these corners are going to change, especially through the rhythm lanes.
04:11Yeah, no, I agree with you. And I believe if I'm Hunter Lawrence, I'm just going to let this race
04:16kind of what we saw with Cole Davies after a few laps.
04:18Just let his race come to you. Just methodically make your way up as he tries to get up the
04:22inside of my brother.
04:24Keep an eye on that 94. See where he's at.
04:26And I think that would dictate Hunter's race as far as how aggressive he would be trying to chase these
04:30guys down.
04:31James, let me ask you this. So like in a situation like that, now you would know better than anybody.
04:36So if Malcolm knows what's at stake with the 96 and the 94, like, is he going to put up
04:43a massive fight?
04:44Because obviously you don't want to mess their chances up. Like what?
04:47No, absolutely not. Especially with the track being like it is now.
04:51It would be very easy, promouple just to lose the front end and get into Hunter.
04:55And none of these guys want to do that. So especially the conditions, I think they would be playing it
05:00extra nice.
05:01Now, Cooper Webb and these other guys, even though they'll try to stay out of it, I think they'll continue
05:05to race because the lead's right in front of them.
05:08Rockson is looking racy. He was taking the fight there to Cooper Webb, almost tagged his rear wheel and ended
05:14up unfortunately losing some ground to the Monster Energy Star racer.
05:20Really like to see what Kenny can do here. I think myself personally would be, it would be important for
05:27Kenny to have a good showing and at least be on the podium.
05:31And that's going to help him for the overall position and possibly make up some points here on Hunter Lawrence.
05:40Much improved performance by the Kawasaki of Chase Sexton. He finished seventh in race one here this afternoon in Cleveland.
05:49Now running in second, 2.2 seconds behind Justin Cooper. Here comes Kenny again.
05:55Yeah, I like that line that Cooper Webb's going, just cutting back. Not a lot of guys been going there
06:00because it takes it so long to get straightened up to get to that inside.
06:03He loses a lot of time in that corner, but man, he makes it up going through.
06:08Yep.
06:11Very difficult to pass like James was saying. Keep an eye on what Kenny might do on some of these
06:1790 degree corners. He can just slide up into the inside of Cooper Webb. That'll be an opportunity to pass
06:25like right here.
06:26He elects not to. But what makes Cooper Webb so good is you saw how he cut down, stayed on
06:31the inside of those ruts.
06:33It's going to make it difficult for Kenny to, you know, he's got to pay attention to that because we
06:37know how Cooper likes to go low down these insides in these bowl corners, stays really low.
06:41Yeah, his sense of where his competitors are at and guarding on that is some of the best that I've
06:48ever seen.
06:51Still about a two second gap between race leader Justin Cooper and Chase Sexton. Cooper Webb is doing his best
06:57to try and eat into that delta to Sexton.
07:01But he's hanging tough with less than seven minutes plus a lap to go.
07:04Yeah, I believe with Cooper, he, him and he'll make his way up to chase really easy. I think what
07:10was happening Cooper started riding behind him because Kent Roxton was there, allowed Chase to have that gap.
07:15But as long as Cooper's clean, he'll make that gap up pretty quick.
07:18I like that line that Chase Sexton is doing coming out of that corner before like the stadium double is
07:26he's wheel tapping, almost wheel tapping and tripling.
07:30He's getting a good drive out of there where a lot of guys are just going double single. He's making
07:33up a lot of time there.
07:34Here goes Kenny through the Wolves. Look at that speed. Incredible.
07:39Yeah, what happened there, Cooper, he didn't get that run out of that inside. So what we're talking about, he
07:45was losing that time coming out of the corner.
07:46He was really slow and then he didn't get the run going through the Wolves. Easy pass for Kent Roxton.
07:51I can tell you this race isn't over. Cooper's trying to fight for this win and still in his mind,
07:56he has the opportunity for this championship.
07:57And Kenny is fighting for every position too because it means he can take more points on Hunter Lawrence because
08:04Lawrence is behind both these guys.
08:06Watch this inside from Cooper Webb.
08:09He was nice to him. Slides in there.
08:12Yeah, he's a little too far back. I think what he was trying to do was maybe scare Kenny. So
08:16Kenny would maybe back out.
08:18Well, the only problem, and I think we talked about this last week, if you're going to make an attempt
08:23to pass, you got to make it happen. Otherwise, you just lose so much time.
08:28Kenny going for it right here. You can see the aggression.
08:32This will be the first time in a long time in this race that Sexton has heard another bike that
08:38close to him. So he'll know the pressure's coming. He won't know yet who it is.
08:41But it's going to be Roxanne vying for that second spot. Meanwhile, Hunter Lawrence is back in fifth. So there's
08:47points to be grabbed there.
08:49This championship is still way alive and Roxanne wants his piece of it. Here he comes. Moved for second. Slipped
08:57up the inside of Chase Sexton. Sexton tries to respond.
09:02I'm really surprised Chase wasn't able to square that bike up and get to the inside of it. Kenny didn't
09:07really put up too much bike, but at the same time, maybe he could get there.
09:10Kenny is rolling right now. He looks like a completely different guy on the motorcycle than he did that first
09:16race. I mean, he's sending it. Doesn't look like, to me, he's riding quite as reserved. And I feel like
09:23that's the kind of ride that he needed to have here in this second race.
09:26You were both, both of you were surprised by his post-race statements about the perils of the track and
09:34the conditions. That's clearly out of his mind now.
09:36Will, Roxanne's riding great. He is, Lee. And that's where my brain was going with this.
09:41When I spoke to Billy Harvold in a mechanic for Ken Robson and said to him, hey, how does Ken
09:47feel about this weather potentially coming in? This is where any of it started. He said, I'm not too happy
09:52about it because I've got to fix the bike up. He said, but put it this way. If it starts
09:56to rain, Ken's, he's fine with it. He's fine with it.
09:59So what is it, James and Ricky, for him? This track is not wet. It's not super muddy. It's not
10:05super rutted. So what is it that's playing into his hands so well?
10:08Well, what's playing in his hands is number four going around them on the outside. But I think what it
10:12is, is, you know, the race slows. It slowed down quite a bit from that first one.
10:17And I think the speed with the track breaking down, they were still going really fast, but it was a
10:21lot of ruts. And that's what Kenny was mentioning. And on the podium that it was pretty sketchy to him.
10:25Now, I think the track is slowing down. So even though it's gotten more rutted, the pace is slower. So
10:31maybe it's not bothering him that much. And it is making him more comfortable.
10:34Well, I have that, too. But I also think as it gets slick and it slows down, I think Kenny
10:39is really good. He's good everywhere, but he really shines when you need throttle control. And I think that bike
10:45works really well. Also, it complements his riding style.
10:49Look who's coming into the picture. Look to the right. Cooper Webb has re-entered the conversation. There he is
10:54right there.
10:55And you just wonder if Kenny getting a little sideways that last lap through the whoops. Now he's starting to
10:59ride a little bit more reserved.
11:01Sometimes he's had, and riders have a tendency to do that.
11:05Yeah, no, and you go back to what he said on the podium in the first race. He was closing
11:09in on Hunter, and something must have happened where he started backing it down. He might be in that same
11:13spot right now. Problem with him is that the number one smells that blood.
11:18Love this drone footage right here. You can really see the different lines that the riders are taking.
11:25Cooper's found some really good lines on his sides next corner. Like, he's going to stay low here. Keep that
11:32inside. But watch this next one. He'll double to the inside and then double out of this.
11:38Kenny doesn't watch out. The next lap, he's going to get passed by the number one.
11:41Big thanks to our production men and women, both inside and out, who are handling these conditions. Temperatures dropped dramatically.
11:49Wind increased. Still drizzling a little as well. JT, what you got?
11:53Well, I'm just thinking about how important these passes are, because right now, Ken Rockson would determine his own fate
11:59in race three.
11:59If he goes out and wins it, he would take the overall. That would cut into the points lead, take
12:03it down from ten to whatever that number ends up being.
12:06If he loses this spot to Webb, he would then maybe no longer dictate his own fate. So this is
12:12a huge, huge moment, not only in the race, but could be the championship, too.
12:15He's got a minute and a half, plus a lap, JT, to do something about Chase Sexton and keep Cooper
12:20Webb behind him. Can he do it?
12:22Yeah, he's real. The four of Chase Sexton back in. Looks like he's got a little bit more fire in
12:29him than he did that last lap. But there's Coop.
12:31Yeah, Coop got close to him, and Kenny sends that inside. So I wonder, did he kind of lowest opportunities?
12:39Oh, nice save by Cooper. He was going for the pass right there. But be interested to see this next
12:44lap. Does Kenny block that inside? Because Cooper kind of showed his hands.
12:48Cooper's doing the revving up.
12:51Meanwhile, Justin Cooper has gone out to more than a five-second lead. Meanwhile...
13:01Excuse me. Meanwhile, there is Malcolm Stewart trying to chase down Hunter Lawrence and steal that fifth place back.
13:09He's up the inside of him. Got him.
13:13Second place goes back to Roxanne. For now, can Kenny hang on to it for less than a minute, plus
13:19a lap?
13:20Slide job.
13:21Yeah, that was an important pass for Kenny because now he looked like he had a little bit more pace
13:26than Chase.
13:27And if he could get away to give him a gap between the number one of Cooper Webb...
13:32And like JT said, now he's got more of his control of his own destiny in his third race.
13:39Now you know, folks, why we love Triple Crown so much. You've always got a chance, and especially this late
13:45in the season, you've always got a chance to keep punching, keep fighting, keep grabbing points.
13:50Yeah, great job by Kenny, really, to kind of take control, flip the switch, and he's rolling.
13:58But, man, we hadn't talked about, hey, a boring race is good for someone, James.
14:03Yeah, it is. And if you go back to our last Triple Crown, he's got his first victory, winning that
14:08second race.
14:08Exactly. A little bit of history repeating here.
14:13Well done, Justin Cooper. And it began when the gate dropped. He got a brilliant start, was right there in
14:20the mix, and then just took off.
14:25Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang on to it.

14:32Wow. Shows you how difficult this racetrack is. He's got a nice gap. This is an eternity, and for a
14:38Supercross, almost five seconds, but anything can happen, especially with these conditions.
14:43And it's only 12 minutes, right? Or 15 minutes plus one lap? Sorry.

14:51So, yeah, that's a big lead here. Got a good start, just cruising.
14:57It's the way that this championship has been this year. I sometimes feel we don't talk about Justin enough.
15:04Big picture-wise, this guy you're watching lead this race en route to victory is fifth in the points.
15:10He's had two podiums this year, and in very similar fashion to last year, the longer the Supercross season's gone
15:16on,
15:17the better Justin has ridden and scored points and positioned.
15:21It's victory to Justin Cooper here in Cleveland.
15:25Really good stuff, and a very important second place for Ken Rockson in his fight against this man here, Hunter
15:33Lawrence.
15:34Sexton gets a podium spot, Webb, and then the championship leader.
15:38So, Rockson takes some points away from the Honda hero.
15:43But it's Cooper in Cleveland.
15:46Justin will like the sound of that with a fine win.

15:54Oh, yeah, that was a really good comeback, bounce-back ride from race one.
