00:00Hello, welcome to the CV's Flight Channel.
00:30And no surprise, Jorge Prado on that Red Bull KTM gets out front early.
00:34I don't know if it's ever been more predictable off the gate for someone to be up front.
00:40You can almost bet every single time Jorge Prado is going to be either get the whole shot
00:46or be in the top three is so automatic out of the gate.
00:49And I love it for him because it gives him so many opportunities to be up there with
00:53the guys and kind of speed up his progression.
00:55He was on fire earlier.
00:57He absolutely was qualified second, just one tenth of a second off of Hunter Lawrence.
01:02There's that line right there that we were talking about with Seth Hammock or the 450s
01:04were doing it earlier.
01:05Now 250s have caught on to it.
01:07That's the fast way around the track as Jorge Prado is already sprinting out front.
01:12Is he going to throw down a fast lap right away?
01:13They see the track crew have done some work.
01:15So maybe this qualifier is going to speed up from Q1 earlier today.
01:18You can see some little drizzles out there, a little bit of rain.
01:22And on a track like this, it's already so packed down.
01:25It might take these guys a few laps to kind of understand how much traction you have.
01:29In qualifying, you're always sprinting.
01:33And so you're always right on that limit of what you can do, how far you can lean the bike
01:37over,
01:38how fast you can come into the turns.
01:40And when it rains, throws another variable in the mix.
01:43You've got to keep your head on a swivel and kind of adapt as it comes.
01:47Jorge looks really aggressive right now.
01:49He does.
01:49Throwing down a lap right away.
01:51Oh, misses that triple right there, but he's still going to finish it off.
01:54Does he go inside down here and try to get to that timing loop a little bit quicker?
01:58He does.
01:59Let's see if he can better his 48.3.
02:02That was the fastest I've seen anybody go through that inside and still hit the finish line.
02:07That was a 48.9.
02:09So still really, really fast in the 48s here in Q2.
02:13That's your fastest guy from Q1 earlier today.
02:1648.2 for Hunter Lawrence.
02:18Needs to get the momentum back on his side.
02:20Had a tough, tough race there a week ago in Cleveland.
02:24Came out in the first race in the Triple Crown.
02:25Dominated.
02:26Rode away from it.
02:27Won the race.
02:27Then race two and race three.
02:29Struggled a little bit.
02:30Went down a couple times.
02:31Lost some points to your race winner in Ken Roxton.
02:35That's why it's down to one point right now.
02:38Just three rounds remaining.
02:39And, Adam, this is getting good.
02:41Oh, it's been good.
02:43It's been good since the gate dropped in January.
02:46But just looking at it, I don't know if I'm seeing things.
02:48I can't quite see it.
02:49But I do think Hunter Lawrence is running roll-offs.
02:52That's another thing we're going to be the guys, Lee Diffie, Ricky Carmich,
02:55we're going to be talking about a lot on the broadcast tonight.
02:58Is you kind of have a choice in conditions like this.
03:00Do you just stack 28, 21 tear-offs on the goggles?
03:05Or do you go roll-offs?
03:06It kind of gives you that unlimited vision, albeit less vision.
03:13It's a little bit kind of closes the window a little bit of how much you can see.
03:18But normally roll-offs these days are pretty reliable.
03:21So it would be cool to see which guys go with tear-offs, which guys go with roll-offs.
03:25Cooper Webb electing to jump through the whoops right there.
03:28I think he's messing with a quad through there.
03:30If you can get a four, I think it's really going to help your speed through that section.
03:34Second.
03:35If I remember in Q1 last week, he was on fire.
03:38Qualified fastest as this man is on a roll here today.
03:41Jorge Prado going for another fast lap.
03:44And for Cooper Webb, jumping the whoops, there's one thing throughout his career he's been so good at.
03:49And that is the corner before the whoops and the corner after.
03:53He's never been the best guy through the whoops, but the corner before and after is where he makes his
03:57money.
03:57Jorge Prado goes fastest overall, 48.0.
04:01Wow, he continues to impress here in 2026.
04:04But how about that corner speed?
04:05Only corner speed.
04:06I don't know how much longer Jorge is going to be on the top here.
04:11Not very long.
04:12Hunter Lawrence goes to the top with a 47.9.
04:15That's the first 47 we've seen all day long.
04:20Wow, 96.
04:21He's feeling it here today.
04:23And did he jump the whoops that lap, JB?
04:25I think he did.
04:27And I like that for him because I really do think with his motorcycle right now, look, it does a
04:31lot of things really, really well.
04:33But as I said in the first session, we've seen those mistakes.
04:37We saw a mistake in the whoops last weekend in Detroit.
04:39I think he has to be pretty perfect through the whoops on that bike to not make a big mistake.
04:46So if he can get through there quickly, jumping the whoops, I think it's going to take a lot of
04:50stress off his plate around the rest of the track going into the main event tonight.
04:54Ken Rockson, fourth right now, 48.4.
04:57He's going for it, sets up this left-hand turn, awful nice.
05:01Wow, just so good the way he lands off that jump.
05:06And a lot of guys would land, give it a lot of gas, try to get as much speed coming
05:10into the corner, then brakes super hard.
05:12Ken Rockson lands, just coasts in, makes a little mistake right there after the whoops, see a little frustration, shaking
05:18up the head.
05:19But love watching this man ride a dirt bike.
05:22Well, don't you think that's going to be the reason why the jump line is going to come into play?
05:25It's mainly because of the left-hand turn after the whoops, correct?
05:29Yeah, absolutely.
05:30Before the whoops, after the whoops.
05:32I think when you have a technical long set of whoops like that, often you'll kind of take your time
05:37getting into them in the corner before.
05:39And if you are jumping and you feel confident in that, it's going to allow you to attack the corner
05:44before and attack the corner after the best you can.
05:47See what Hunter does right here?
05:48He does, he goes triple, triple, triple, then he's going to double to the inside right there.
05:53But I love that you saw coming into the whoops, some guys will go in when they're jumping and kind
05:58of roll and get completely in the pocket between the starter whoop and kind of the second whoop.
06:03But I love how he just kind of skimmed off and tripled in, was able to go more forward than
06:08straight up in the air.
06:09The corner speed from the 96 right now is all time.
06:13Kenny Better is 47.9.
06:16He does, 47.8.
06:18Hunter Lawrence continues to be faster and faster by each lap.
06:22That man right there, Jorge Prado on the Red Bull KTM.
06:25He is second right now, 48.0.
06:27And look, we talk about the two championship guys, one point apart.
06:30The 94 of Ken Rocks and the 96 of Hunter Lawrence.
06:33But there's so many other guys that could get in the mix.
06:36We talk about Chase Sexton, Cooper Webb.
06:37Justin Cooper is having a career year.
06:40Jorge Prado, guys like that could get in the mix and steal some points away from these guys.
06:45So it's not just one-on-one like we've seen in years past.
06:48There's a lot of other guys that could get in the mix, including this guy right here, Justin Cooper.
06:52Yeah, and there's nobody better at jumping through the whoops than the 32 of Justin Cooper.
06:57And got that race two win, was tied in points.
07:00Going into the third race in Cleveland, had a chance to get his first ever win.
07:04Got a bad start, ended up going down.
07:07Kind of a weird crash, jumping off the berm there.
07:11But he's been riding well enough lately to where if he gets a start, everything goes his way.
07:15He does have a chance to be on the podium and even win at times as he gets into the
07:2047.
07:21Wow, 47.8.
07:23Barely off of Hunter Lawrence's fast time.
07:26Who's Prado to third?
07:27Chase Sexton in the mix on that Monster Energy.
07:30Kawasaki, Cooper Webb up there.
07:32Ken Rockson in sixth.
07:33But look at who's seventh right now.
07:34The Quad Lock Honda, Dean Wilson.
07:37That's impressive from Dino.
07:39Oh, it is.
07:40And I was watching him.
07:41I went and rode with him maybe six weeks ago out in Southern California at the test track.
07:45And I can tell you still at this point in Dean's career, he's still got a lot of speed, still
07:51does a lot of things really well on the bike.
07:55Is Hunter on a fast one once again?
07:57Hunter Lawrence continues to throw down lap after lap after lap.
08:01Hunter's been fastest in qualifying four times this season.
08:05Does he make it five here today in Philly?
08:08Once again, turn speed we've been talking about a lot with Hunter as he comes in.
08:12They're starting to get a little dust berm right there that they can lean off of.
08:1647.5 for Hunter Lawrence.
08:18This guy's not messing around today at all.
08:21I think after last weekend making that big mistake, losing all those points, it would be really easy to overcompensate
08:27this week
08:28and kind of get outside your normal rhythm, your normal process.
08:32And so far, aces across the board in Hunter Lawrence, getting it back on the right track.
08:41Good lap for Ken Rockson.
08:42He goes to third, 48.05 tenths of a second off the lead of Hunter Lawrence.
08:47That's solid for Ken Rockson.
08:48We talked about this earlier today with Ricky Carmichael about the importance of qualifying.
08:53RC said, maybe not so important as long as you feel good on the motorcycle.
08:57Ken Rockson has said that to you and I multiple times.
09:00Not too concerned about the overall finishing position, but just how he feels.
09:04Well, I think at this point, both of these guys are very confident in their ability.
09:09Otherwise, they would not be in this position.
09:11So as long as you're in the game, as long as you're within a second,
09:15and really it's more about the feeling of the fast lap than the fast lap itself.
09:20If you go and you qualify fastest, but you feel a little out of control,
09:24you don't feel confident that you can do that in a main event, 20 plus one,
09:28then you're not going to take much confidence from that.
09:31But for Ken Rockson, if he feels good, he sees only a half a second off,
09:35there'll be no panic out of the 94 at all.
09:38Justin Cooper going for one right here.
09:40He's second right now.
09:41Just need three-tenths of a second to go P1 on the day.
09:45Looks like he's going for it right now.
09:46Looks so far so good.
09:47And just executed the whoops perfectly.
09:50I love how patient he is getting into his corners.
09:53Kind of lets his bike get settled before he gets on the gas.
09:57You never really see him spinning out the back tire, going too wide in the turns.
10:01Puts the bike where he wants to and goes to the top.
10:05Wow.
10:0647.2.
10:08That Monster Energy Yamaha star racing rider of Justin Cooper goes to the top 47.2
10:14and betters Hunter Lawrence as Ken Rockson.
10:17He's not done, he wants more, 48.0 for the 94.
10:21Let's see what he can do with this lap.
10:22And oh, you see a balloon there, he just went around the balloon.
10:25That's a first here on RDL.
10:27We got a pink balloon on the track.
10:31Still skimming right there.
10:32And if you're going to skim the whoops, that's how you want to do it, folks.
10:35And when it's a little rainy, a little slick like this, you'll see, saw Ken Rockson, he's
10:39a little further back on the bike than he normally is.
10:42But those are the little adjustments that you can make with your technique when you're
10:46that confident.
10:48Kenny, a 48.0.
10:50Just rolls the gas on through that turn.
10:52One turn to go.
10:54Kenny's got some of the best throttle control that we've ever seen here in the sport.
10:58That last lap around for Kenny was a 48.4.
11:01So four-tenths of a second off of his fastest.
11:03But how about Chase Sexton?
11:04He's got some speed here today.
11:05Third so far.
11:06And you got to think, I think he's been doing, he's been riding pretty well.
11:10His starts have been not good at all lately.
11:13But I love even his ride at Nashville.
11:15It was solid, steady, making progress through the field.
11:19And I think for Chase right now, it's all about just building.
11:22And I think he, something that he struggles with is just what you're talking with Seth Hamaker
11:28about.
11:28I think he wants it so bad.
11:30And he's such a ferocious competitor that sometimes when he's a little, falling a little
11:35short of his own expectations, I think the frustration can be kind of overwhelming at
11:41times.
11:42But I love what I've seen him do lately.
11:44He's staying focused on himself.
11:45Even though he's not been on the podium and hasn't been winning, you see he's remained
11:49positive.
11:50He's doing everything he can out there.
11:52There hasn't been any quit in the four.
11:55Hunter Lawrence going for another fast one right here.
11:59Does he top?
12:0147.2.
12:03He does not.
12:04That last lap around was a 47.9.
12:07Is Justin Cooper still on top?
12:08That is one of Justin Cooper's 47.2.
12:12That is one of the fastest, most complete qualifying laps I have seen so far this season.
12:17This man is on it.
12:19Jay Coop has not been fastest in qualifying since New Jersey one year ago in 2025.
12:25He's qualified fastest three times in his career.
12:28So this would be the fourth.
12:30Makes a little mistake right as I was about to say.
12:33He has not put one wheel wrong.
12:35Just came up a little bit short.
12:37When you're carrying that much speed into the moves, when you're jumping them, those things
12:41can happen.
12:42He'll back it down about 5% for the main event tonight to make it repeatable.
12:47But Justin Cooper, free agent, and the value continues to rise.
12:51Well, we've talked about it multiple times.
12:53Who can get in there and take some points away from Hunter Lawrence and Ken Rockson in
12:58this championship?
12:59Justin Cooper may be on the top of that list.
13:01Yeah, no doubt about it.
13:02JB, his starts are back.
13:04When he's starting up front, giving himself chances, that's all you can do.
13:08And he is one good start away from potentially getting his first win.
13:13It's coming.
13:14Wow.
13:14Justin Cooper is your fastest qualifier here today in Philadelphia for the fourth time
13:20in his career with that 47.2.
13:23And he looks incredible here today.
13:26Hunter Lawrence, second.
13:27Chase Sexton, he's got a lot of speed today on that Monster Energy Kawasaki with a 48.0.
13:32Ken Rockson is in the mix.
13:33And Jorge Prado continues to impress here in 2026.
13:38The three-time and defending Supercross champ Cooper Webb, he's sixth.
13:42Just a little bit off.
13:43Shane McElrath on the quad lock Honda, he's seventh.
13:46That's a great performance.
13:47And he's coming on as of late.
13:49Malcolm Stewart, Joey Savace, and Christian Craig round out your top ten.
13:53Haley, Justin Cooper, fastest here today.
13:55Jack held up for that.
13:57It's going to get a little bit muddy later.
