00:00Many farmers, many gardeners are crying out for some much-needed rain.
00:04There isn't a huge amount of that to come through the next few days,
00:07which is welcome news for many people enjoying the fine, sunny weather.
00:11What may not be welcome news is this area of low pressure to the southwest of the UK.
00:17Much of the country is under the influence of high pressure,
00:19but this low pressure, it is staying to the southwest of us.
00:23But it's relatively deep. As a result, areas closer to it,
00:26well, here we have some strong gusty winds across some southern counties,
00:30particularly towards the southwest. Devon and Cornwall,
00:32which have a gust of around 50, 60 miles per hour,
00:34perhaps up to 70 miles per hour over Dartmoor at times through this afternoon.
00:39Also in Devon and Cornwall, there could be a few large dollops of rain around,
00:42but most places having a dry day, plenty of sunshine, plenty of blue sky,
00:47just towards the northeast, perhaps some nagging low cloud
00:49over some parts of eastern Scotland, northeast England as well.
00:52Also towards the east, closer towards the North Sea,
00:55a bit of a fresher feel. Temperatures here pegged back into low double digits.
01:00Elsewhere, with all the sunshine, temperatures likely to be a couple of degrees higher than some recent days.
01:06We're looking at highs around 18, 19 Celsius, so feeling pretty warm indeed in that sunshine,
01:10especially if you're sheltered from those strong gusty winds towards the south and southwest.
01:15One thing to bear in mind, you may already be feeling it,
01:18that we do have some high pollen levels at the moment.
01:21It's tree pollen at this time of year, so not everyone suffers from this,
01:25even if you are a hay fever sufferer later on in the season.
01:28But yes, with that fine weather.
