00:00I'm humble and kind says we need all the facts on the Ruben Bain thing.
00:03We don't know.
00:03Agreed.
00:04Agreed.
00:05But even if, you know, I think the thing that's the thing that is.
00:12Look, it's unfortunate.
00:14And that's even as an understatement as it gets that somebody lost their life.
00:19Um, but he wasn't charged with anything.
00:22Doesn't appear that there was nefarious play with, uh, with anything here as of right now.
00:28So I don't know what this is going to do for his, his draft status on all this.
00:34If this happened to the things with the Laramie Tunsil thing, people want to compare it to that.
00:39And this guy says, well, it could be a Laramie Tunsil situation all over again.
00:44This is why I'm skeptical on that.
00:47The Laramie Tunsil thing happened on draft day.
00:50Okay.
00:51That's the thing that threw the Molotov cocktail into his draft day.
00:56Anyway, the gas mask video, dude, if the gas mask video happened three weeks, two weeks, 10 days before the
01:04draft and everybody stepped back and they said, this guy is bar none.
01:07The best lineman in the draft.
01:10Even if he was high as a kite, Yogi, you're taking them.
01:13People are taking them in the top five, but you can't have that video be released five, six, six hours
01:19prior to the beginning of the NFL draft.
01:22When you're the number one pick that everybody.
01:24Correct.
01:24Assumed you will be.
01:25So if nobody knew about this, Vlad, and then the story drops the day of the draft, okay, maybe we'd
01:33have a Laramie Tunsil situation.
01:35But if you're telling me, Hey, something really unfortunate that Ruben Bain was the driver of a car, a fatal
01:43accident happened.
01:45And it happened two years ago when he was a kid and everybody seems to know about it in the
01:50league.
01:53And the family is at peace with it and wishes him nothing but the best for whatever the reasons that
01:58there are, whether that's because they know Ruben Bain personally, and they think he's a great guy or because there
02:03was a financial settlement and they want to move on.
02:06Or it's just because of their peace of mind and they want to move on.
02:10If they want to move on, doesn't everybody else have to move on?
02:15Well, especially if they never knew about it.
02:18That's what I'm saying.
02:19Like we never knew about it.
02:20So it wasn't even if, but if the family's at peace, right, that's what I'm saying.
02:24So he didn't commit a crime and the family saying they don't want to even, and they don't want to
02:28talk about this.
02:29But that being said, somebody's going to be an a-hole, try to get traction, and we'll continue talking about
02:39it because let's be honest, it's been kind of slow these past couple of weeks with the NFL draft.
02:44You pretty much, everybody knew since last year that Mendoza was going to be the number one pick and there
02:51wasn't really anything much to talk about in the combine.
02:53Free agency happened and it was gone.
02:56It's been kind of a quiet draft.
02:58And I'm not even saying that reporting this is wrong because, like, look, it's a thing that nobody knows about
03:06and there's police reports about.
03:07It's not like the guy made it up.
03:09So, like, I'm not saying that reporting it is wrong.
03:11I'm just saying, okay, but the other part of the, if the most important thing is the family is at
03:19peace with it and they wish him the best, what else is there to the story?
03:23And if you, and the other thing is you've really never heard anything about Ruben being a, just anything, like,
03:32he's just a good kid.
03:34So, you've never heard of him being late to practice or being upset or being a, not a good, not
03:41being a good teammate or anything like that.
03:43There hasn't been any flaws on him, like, character-wise other than the only flaw they have is his, you
03:49know, his hands.
03:50So, therefore, it's like people trying to find a flaw, a wart in someone to either bring them down and
03:59either elevate somebody else up.
04:01Yeah.
04:02I mean, maybe something else could be presented within, you know, the next 10 days that would change my mind,
04:09but it would have to be pretty damning.
04:11Um, because ultimately this just seems like something that really awful happened to this young lady, tragic, uh, and their,
04:19and her family.
04:20Um, but we don't have all of the information of what happened other than the police and the law doesn't
04:26seem that anything illegal happened because he wasn't even arrested for anything.
04:31You know, he was cited.
04:33So, I don't know.
04:35And I, and, and yeah, I could definitely say that I probably want that to be the case because I
04:40really liked the guy as a player.
04:41There, there is a sports, uh, conditioning to that, but that also is where we are with the facts right
04:48now in the story.
04:49Like, I can't, I can't sit here and reach for things that I don't know about other than what's been
04:54reported.
04:54If he starts dropping, you can't let good teams like the Kansas city chiefs just have a Ruben Baines faulted
05:00him.
05:01Well, that's what, that's when that's, and that's where it's like, okay, well, this guy who reported it, who he
05:06gets it from, it's hard not to feel like that's the motivation here, you know?
05:10And that's, that's the kind of dirty side of all of this.
05:13Cause if the family didn't want this all brought up to light, well, why is this really out there then?
05:18Cause nobody, if everybody, if everybody quote unquote knew, but nobody wanted it out there, then why is it out
05:26there?
05:26Yeah, bro.
05:27Somebody wanted it out there because it's just to get teams questioning, maybe reshuffling their board.
05:35It's just weird.
05:36Like out of, out of nowhere.
05:37And mind you, once that news came out, it, it spread.
05:42Like I'm getting, yeah, things are like wildfire.
05:44Yeah.
05:44I'm getting all these group texts.
05:45What's wrong?
05:46What happened?
05:46What's going on here?
05:47Like, Oh, you know, yeah.
05:48Cause even the way, even the way it's like the front of TMZ now it's everywhere.
05:52Right.
05:53So it's like, now you're questioning them.
05:54But that's, that's why I'm saying, I do think if everybody, if it's true that all the teams had the
05:59intel on this,
06:02if this happened the day of the draft, like Laramie Tunsil did, okay.
06:06Maybe people would be scared off 10 days.
06:09Hard to imagine.
06:10That's, that's, that's, that's going to put it that place.
06:12And even with the Tunsil situation, I find it hard to believe that teams didn't know about, you know, he
06:17liked to tote.
06:18So I just think the video of him, the video is crazy.
06:23No, the video is crazy.
06:24And then the day that, that, that had happened in the Dolphins token, remember he also, didn't he also admit
06:28to getting paid for grades or something like that?
06:30Yeah.
06:30It was like a bad, it was a bad, it was a bad day for the Tunsil.
06:33Good player.
06:35You know what?
06:36He knows how to negotiate contracts.
