00:00I wanted to give you guys a quick, a brief update on some of the Giannis chatter
00:05that transpired since we were off the air yesterday.
00:10Chris Mannix from Sports Illustrated, he said that he expects the Heat to be first in line
00:16when it comes to Giannis and that he'll have a big voice in this.
00:19Not that it's big-time news, but that happened yesterday.
00:24First in line, meaning they're the odds on favorites, or hey, it's midnight.
00:30Here we are.
00:30Yeah.
00:31Like the war for us on Whiteside.
00:32They were first in line.
00:34Right, yeah.
00:34First in line, Andy Ellesberg has the call scheduled already.
00:41All right.
00:42Yeah.
00:44And Zach Lowe, he said from the Zach Lowe show that if he just had to make a guess on
00:50a team,
00:51like if he had to place a bet, where Giannis goes, it would be Miami.
00:55But he's not saying it based on sources.
00:57He's just saying, if I had to make a guess, gut feeling, I would go with Miami.
01:01And then there's this debate happening.
01:03I saw Ryan Clark Crowder even tweet out about it, about where LeBron gets a statue.
01:11Kendrick Perkins was saying that LeBron better get a statue in Miami.
01:15I know we've discussed this, but briefly, he's getting a statue here, right?
01:20Like we all expect him to.
01:21Well, again, I think it's a big three statue.
01:24So I think it's not a statue of LeBron.
01:27I think it's a statue of LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.
01:30I think he has a statue of Liberty size statue in Cleveland.
01:39But I don't know.
01:40Like four years?
01:42Four years.
01:43The best four years we have ever had as Heat fans.
01:47Period.
01:47End of story.
01:48No buts.
01:49No saying, oh, but he didn't do it long enough.
01:52The greatest four years we have ever had as Heat fans.
01:58Yes.
01:59And out of 23.
02:00That's right.
02:02So 19 other years.
02:0538 out of 38.
02:07Huh?
02:08He's saying 23 LeBron.
02:10Oh, LeBron's career.
02:11Oh, I thought you were saying four out of 23.
02:13Oh, no.
02:14So he played 19 years elsewhere, four years here, and he gets a statue.
02:19I just, that's the thing to me.
02:21I'm with you.
02:22The best run we've ever had.
02:23But it was four years.
02:26I am of the opinion.
02:28I mean, he could get one on his own, and I'm fine with it.
02:31But I think it's going to be a big three, or a big three era, where it's the three of
02:37them,
02:37and maybe even you've got Shane Battier and Ray Allen and Spoh and whatever.
02:44The thing when they raised out of the floor, and Bosch did that little reptile screen.
02:51That would actually be cool if they did a statue like that.
02:54Yeah.
02:55That would be cool.
02:55That would be cool.
02:57That's the best four years in Miami sports history, is it not?
03:02Not just, you're saying heat.
03:03I think so.
03:04No, the 70 Dolphins undefeated in Super Bowl.
03:09Four consecutive years, though.
03:10Four consecutive years.
03:11Best four-year span.
03:13Let me see.
03:14The Panthers have an argument to be made.
03:20They won the President's Cup trophy, and then they got bounced.
03:23But then they went to the Stanley Cup final, and then they won two finals.
03:28So the Panthers, over four years, they won two rings, just like the Heat did.
03:32They had the best regular season record in the NHL one year, even though they didn't have
03:36the postseason success.
03:37And then in another year, they were the eighth seed and went all the way to the Stanley Cup
03:42final.
03:42I think that's in contention.
03:43I don't think it's better than the Heat.
03:45And Crowder, to your point, yes, the Dolphins have to be mentioned, but in 72, they go undefeated.
03:51In 73, they win the Super Bowl, back-to-back years.
03:54But I don't know what happened the year before 72 and a year after.
04:00That's what I'm talking about.
04:01I looked it up because that was my point.
04:03Four years.
04:0571 lost in the Super Bowl.
04:0872 won the Super Bowl.
04:1073 won the Super Bowl.
04:1274 lost in the Divisional Championship.
04:16It's right there with the Heat.
04:18It's just we don't have – we can't remember it because it was in the 70s, and my parents
04:21didn't even know each other.
04:26I still would say that that was the best four years of Miami sports.
04:32But you remember the 72 championship.
04:34You were 20.
04:37I was three.
04:40But I just think everything that came with it, because the 72 Dolphins, you know, I mean,
04:49everyone knew they were going to be good, but there wasn't a machine of hype around them
04:54because it was going to be something that no one had ever seen in sports before.
04:58The undefeated season, obviously, was that, but you didn't know that going in.
05:04Like, I just think everything that surrounded that four years was just – like, we lived
05:13an alternate reality from most sports fans, something that they will never experience
05:19in their lives.
05:21Because it's not that way for the Lakers right now.
05:24Oh, no.
05:25It's not.
05:26Yeah.
05:31But Shula – Shula's more respected than Spolstra.
05:35Yeah, different question, though.
05:38Yeah.
05:40And I don't know – and I don't say this to discredit Shula at all.
05:46I don't know if I would say that that is objectively a factual statement, that he's more respected
05:52than Eric Spolstra.
05:54He had a longer career.
05:55He was here longer.
05:56It's factual.
05:57It is?
05:57It's factual.
05:57Okay.
05:58Yeah.
05:59Don Shula?
06:00Don Shula.
06:02Don't do this.
06:03Bill Belichick is chasing Don Shula.
06:06Don't do this now where you're going to say, I hate Don Shula.
06:09I was just asking the question.
06:10I was posing the question.
06:11Don Shula had a ton of success.
06:14He has the undefeated season.
06:15He had the two Super Bowl rings.
06:17And he made the Dolphins and he made the Dolphins a powerhouse in the NFL for decades.
06:23I realize that, and I'm not trying to discredit Shula one bit.
06:27He is considered perhaps the greatest coach in NFL history.
06:33He's certainly in the Mount Rushmore.
06:36Oh, round.
06:37Oh, is not that.
06:39All I was saying was you would agree.
06:42It's probably a little unfair to compare the two considering Eric Spolstra, I would argue,
06:48is only halfway through his career as an NBA head coach.
06:52Well, you said, I would argue that Don Shula is considered the better or more respected coach.
07:01That, I said, is factually correct.
07:04I was just getting to my point.
07:06I just think we have to let the two careers play out.
07:08That's all.
07:09Will Eric Spolstra get into the top four all-time basketball coaches ever?
07:14No.
07:15Yes.
07:16He won't because we've seen him without Wade and Bodge.
07:21And I like Spolstra.
07:23I hope he's the coach for the next 20 years.
07:28Did you watch this season?
07:33Let's ask a little where.
07:44Anything else in the headline?
07:48Yeah, Devon A. Chan is now the third highest paid running back.
07:52Somebody put it on the backslide.
07:54Did you drive on the Eric Spolstra Expressway today?
07:57No, you did not.
07:58No, you did not.
08:03Come on, Solana.
08:05When you hear Kia telling you the traffic on the Shula is backed up close to the traffic on the
08:10Spolstra,
08:11let's have that conversation.
08:14And I bet my kids one day will want to watch the Miami Heat celebrate a title down Eric Spolstra
08:20Boulevard.
08:21I hope you're right.
08:23I hope you're right.
08:27Will he get a street?
08:31Again, based off.
08:34If he retires today, he's not getting a street.
08:36He might get a street in Cleveland based off last year's playoff.
08:46You want to get to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
08:48Yeah, take the Spolstra over.
08:51Take the Spolstra.
08:54I'm just teasing Spoh if you're listening.
