00:00Well, the Dolphins, they started their workouts today.
00:03They have phase one of their off-season program.
00:06Malik Willis has entered the building for the Miami Dolphins.
00:10Here's a looky-loo at that.
00:12This is QB1 entering the building for the Miami Dolphins.
00:17And the fans, I think they seem fired up.
00:20I'm looking on, like, social media.
00:22I'm like, first off, he's not Tua.
00:24How early in the morning is that?
00:26That's probably got to be, like, at the latest, probably a little before 7 a.m.
00:32Right.
00:33A little before 7 a.m. right now.
00:34That's what I would say.
00:36If I had to guess.
00:37Very dark outside.
00:38Yeah.
00:40I'm telling you what.
00:41You ain't getting me in no off-season workouts before 9.
00:48Not even if it was a new team?
00:50No.
00:51Really?
00:51What about when you were a rookie or second year?
00:54No.
00:55Really?
00:57Like, you could do your workouts all day.
00:59And then they had the...
01:00But if you have meetings?
01:02No.
01:02That's when the voluntary stuff start.
01:05And that...
01:06They have meetings are at 11 or 12.
01:10You weren't there all day.
01:12Right?
01:13You maybe have meetings.
01:14I mean, you would know better than I do, obviously.
01:16You have, like, meetings for, like, an hour.
01:18I don't feel like they're going there just for breakfast unless you just want the free food.
01:21I don't know.
01:21I didn't have food.
01:22Well, they got food.
01:23You see that cafeteria they got.
01:25Yeah, but I don't know if they do it during the off-season.
01:28What?
01:29Yeah.
01:30I feel like there's a chef there at all times.
01:32No.
01:33No.
01:33So what do they do during the off-season?
01:35They just have granola bars?
01:36I don't know.
01:37I'm guessing they have something, but I didn't.
01:40Hmm.
01:43Guy says, QB1 checking in.
01:46New era of Dolphins football.
01:49New era.
01:50One guy just goes...
01:51I'm really excited.
01:52To a bad right now.
01:54I would like to see them play.
02:00And I'm keeping in mind that it may be a struggle this year, but it won't be indicative of how
02:08he plays.
02:10Right?
02:11Yeah.
02:11I mean, I don't know what the roster is.
02:13It's such an incomplete picture right now because we know that they didn't have any money to sign anybody, so
02:18they're going to be, once again, relying on young guys to step up right away, and hopefully everybody from last
02:23year steps up a little bit more.
02:24This has a chance to be a really good team for a long time if they get to draft right,
02:29and if the guys that were drafted last year end up being contributors.
02:33Because you're going to be young.
02:37Extremely young.
02:38The problem is, is if you're really that good, you're going to have a lot of guys that are going
02:43to be up at the same time.
02:45Greg says, this man has calves for days.
02:48LOL.
02:49Cavs?
02:50Cavs.
02:51Like his legs.
02:53He's impressed with his legs.
02:55Huh.
02:56All right.
02:58You can tell from the front that he has calves?
03:01According to Greg, he can.
03:04Huh.
03:05All right.
03:06He's excited.
03:07I mean, is he six foot?
03:09Yeah, he's like six foot, 6'1".
03:10Yeah.
03:11That's what calves look like when you're six foot.
03:13Like, if he was seven foot, those calves would be stretched out.
03:16I'm just telling you what the fans are saying, dude.
03:18I got big calves, too.
03:19You know why?
03:20Six foot.
03:22Another guy says, those calves are made for sprinting.
03:26Because he's going to be running a lot.
03:27Although one guy says, Nicholas, says, backup QB making 20 million, or top 20 money.
03:33SMH.
03:34Quinn should have been QB1.
03:36Really?
03:37Based on what you saw, Quinn, you're going to be the...
03:41JC says...
03:41Block him.
03:42I'm not going to block him.
03:43Block him.
03:44He's not tweeting at me.
03:45He's tweeting at the Dolphins.
03:46Great.
03:47JC says, cut in a year.
03:49Really?
03:50He can't, like...
03:52Without any idea.
03:54Without any idea.
03:55That's what they say.
03:57FinFan13 says, okay, I was out.
03:59Now I'm back in.
04:01I don't know if he's serious or not.
04:03Either way, funny.
04:06I feel like his number one quality right now is he's not Tua.
04:09That's it?
04:11Like, do you just get happy Britney seeing Malie Willis because he's not Tua?
04:14Of course.
04:15We call that the new spouse.
04:17What kind of question is that?
04:18The new spouse.
04:19Right?
04:20That's what that is.
04:22He's already up to a great start.
04:24You know who's going to be the hottest girl you ever met?
04:27The one that's different from your last one.
04:30Same thing with boys.
04:31With men.
04:32That's just kind of how it does.
04:34You're just hoping for regular QB play.
04:36Just genuine durability, mobility, and normal answers from a QB.
04:39Yeah, and I would say because here's how this is going to look.
04:48Malik's success is not necessarily going to be about how many yards he throws for,
04:56but how he continues to move the ball down the field with how they run it,
05:03how he creates, you know, big plays, throwing it, and how he creates space running it.
05:10That's going to determine how good their season's going to be
05:14or how good he's going to be able to be at that position.
05:17So I know what's going to happen here.
05:21You're going to come in.
05:22We're going to come in on a Monday, and the Dolphins may or may not win,
05:26and it's going to be like Malik had 200 yards passing and 50 yards rushing.
05:33And everybody's at 20 million for 200 yards.
05:36And you've got to put it in context because the circumstances
05:41and the situations that he's able to have success in.
05:46He's not a rookie either.
05:48I think that's the thing.
05:49Right now, all these guys' best quality, and it goes across the board.
05:55Sullivan's best quality, he's not Chris Greer.
05:59Halfley's best quality is not Mike McDaniel, and this guy's not Tua.
06:02So they're already starting up here with a lot of fans
06:05because of how bad everybody was on them being on the way out.
06:09So that's a good place to start.
06:12But then it does actually have to come down to, all right, what have they done?
06:15And what are they building?
06:17Because everybody likes everything they're saying.
06:19Everybody is lapping up everything that they're saying.
06:21They're like, this is so much.
06:22This is a revolution.
06:23New car smell.
06:24New car smell.
06:24And so I don't know what the time is to say that it's fair to grade the guys
06:29because that's going to probably be dictated during the season
06:32of where they're at, what they look like.
06:35But I do think the Malik Willis thing gets some judgment
06:37because of the knowledge they had of him coming in.
06:40Like, it can't just be, oh, he gets a mulligan.
06:43No, I'm not.
06:44No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
06:46Look, he can still play quarterback the right way
06:49and make the right plays and all that, and they not have success.
06:53Right?
06:55So what I'm saying is that he's going to be one of those quarterbacks
07:04where if you just look at the numbers after the game,
07:07it's not going to tell the story, it may or may not.
07:11He might run for 80 yards and throw for 170 yards,
07:15and they dominate that game.
07:19But it's the combination of when he does that and how he does it
07:23that is going to help this team be successful.
07:27And we too many times just on Monday morning look at the numbers
07:32and not get the whole story.
07:34And I would say with him because he has the ability to run,
07:37because they might run some RPOs,
07:40because they might do a lot of things with him and A-chan.
07:43Like, the offense is going to look so much different
07:46that they're not going to rely on him just throwing for 300
07:49or running for, you know, a boatload of yards.
07:53It's going to be a mix of everything so that he might not have the big numbers.
07:57I think it needs to look like it can compete.
07:59Yes.
07:59That's the thing.
08:00For many years, for the years of the Dolphins with the Tua and McDaniel era,
08:05they were known as a team that could beat up on terrible teams
08:09but couldn't really hang with real teams.
08:11Right.
08:12And so I think you want to see, you know,
08:15obviously they didn't play more physical.
08:16I think you want to see a quarterback, yeah,
08:18that can use a little bit more versatility
08:19because you're not used to that with Tua.
08:21He's gone.
08:23His arm is renowned.
08:24I don't know what kind of weapons he's going to have to throw down the field
08:26because right now it's just like 2-2 Atwell.
08:29That's the other thing.
08:31I think – here's what I –
08:33I think that when it's all said and done,
08:40you're going to have 2-2 Atwell,
08:43and he's going to look like Ice Trey.
08:50Trey Young?
08:51Yeah.
08:51Why?
08:52Because the other two are receivers going to be huge.
08:55Yeah, they'll at least add some size, I would think.
08:58But, you know, they still also have Malik Washington.
09:02Like, he's not tall.
09:03But they're slot guys.
09:05Yeah.
09:06So that'll be fine.
09:08Like, you're – I don't know.
09:10The only team that I know that used to do that is Sean Payton.
09:15Sean Payton put his star receiver inside when he was in New Orleans.
09:20Every time.
09:21His best receiver played in the slot for whatever reason.
09:25So – but most people take and put their guys outside and then have a slot guy
09:29who's little who can make plays and, you know, and do stuff.
09:33I think everybody's just excited to move on.
09:35I think that's the thing.
09:36It's like you see this and –
09:37Yeah.
09:37I mean, there's obviously the people who are going to be uber skeptical about everything
09:41just because they're super scarred from all their Dolphins wounds.
09:44And I understand that.
09:45I think that's – honestly, I don't really judge anybody like that.
09:48But people are just thirsting for this to get going.
09:52Because it's just been so long since they've won a playoff game.
09:56Hard to believe Ross hired cheap novice head coach and GM again.
10:01There you go.
10:03Right?
10:04You know, you have no idea.
10:05But we said that coming in.
10:06Like, we said part of the thing was, like, one of the reasons we all thought it was going
10:08to be Harbaugh is because we thought he always goes with the first timer.
10:12Right.
10:12You know?
10:13Right.
10:13But I think the thing with this is, one, the problem the Dolphins were in,
10:18that they weren't going to get anybody with experience.
10:20And I don't know, like, who were the guys who got experience?
10:22It was Salah, Harbaugh, McCarthy.
10:25Am I missing anybody with experience that got a job?
10:28You want Robert Salah to come?
10:29I'm not saying that I want them.
10:30I'm just saying about the options that were out there with experience.
10:33Right.
10:34And the big thing is, you're coming into a situation, the Dolphins were not going to
10:39attract any coach with credentials, Tomlin.
10:43That's going to have to go through this.
10:44That's going to have to go through this because they're going to want to go right to their
10:47next stop and be ready to rock.
10:50So you weren't going to get anybody.
10:52The appeal of this, even though it's like, there's not a lot of substance to it right
10:57now, but it is different.
10:58What's different is you're hopeful that these guys are all on the same page because too many
11:03times it's been the coach gets fired.
11:06The GM still around the, uh, the, the coach sticks around.
11:09They hire another GM like that happened with Philbin where they couldn't get a good GM
11:13candidate because they were like, you want me to go link myself to Joe Philbin and you
11:18know, Tannenbaum was here with gays.
11:20I mean, that's the bum duo of all bum duos, you know, two, I mean, two boobs.
11:25I mean, honestly, they should be, they should be performing at the cheetah together.
11:30What?
11:32Now coming to the stage, two boobs, Gays and Tannenbaum.
11:38For making it weird.
11:40I'll take my minus one.
11:41I don't care.
11:41It was worth it for me.
11:44You think you stuck that landing?
11:45Minus one.
11:46I'm actually kind of proud of it.
11:47I don't know.
11:48The Russian judge gave you a two.
11:51What's fun?
11:53Shiny man.
11:54Stop with the joke.
11:55So the only appeal here is that these guys are on the same page.
11:59That's the, that's the big thing.
12:01It does seem like, even if they're not experienced, here's what it seems like.
12:05It seems like for the first time in a long time, you believe that everybody's on the same
12:13page instead of everybody telling you that they're on the same page.
12:17And, and so that's a good, that's a good start.
12:22Um, the mess they got to deal with, with the, the, the cap and all that stuff.
12:28Um, it's almost like you kind of feel like maybe you wanted somebody with more experience
12:35to maneuver through this, but maybe what you need is new guys who come here with a new
12:40attitude and a new frame of thought and, and rip the bandaid off.
12:44Like you say, right.
12:45So, um, here's the problem.
12:48And they kept the cap guy who's like, who knows all the mess too, of like where everything's
12:52at.
12:53The, the, the problem is, is that I want to see something that gives you hope.
12:59Exactly.
13:00And, and, and as of right now, as this team is currently constructed, you're unsure.
13:07We're in a desert right now.
13:09Like we will literally, we, we are no water.
13:11We're so easily like, Oh, Malik.
13:15You do that for everybody.
13:16I know I do.
13:17You do every sport.
13:19I'm guilty of it.
13:19But I do think I'm like, I don't know why I like him, but I think it's just because he's
13:22new.
13:23Like that's it.
13:24Right.
13:24And it just ended so badly and it's so toxic.
13:27And even like the, the dirt still coming out, you know, like every, every week there's
13:31a podcast about how miserable it was here at the end.
13:33And it's like, well, we're such a long, we're such a long way from, uh, from 70 points.
13:38Can I, can I just say this?
13:39And you can always say whatever you don't have to commission every coach that I've been
13:45on a team of that got fired.
13:48Yeah.
13:49It was the same, same thing.
13:51Like, like that's what they said as to why they had to get rid of the coach.
13:56Now, the one exception to that was Bill Belichick.
14:00He didn't do nothing wrong.
14:01They just wanted a new coach.
14:03Humbling guy and said, Chris Greer left us in the crashed in the ditch.
14:06No gas, no gas.
14:08Just left it.
14:09I almost, I almost ran out of gas trying to make decisions on where the cheapest gas
14:14is realizing that you ain't getting $2 gas.
14:17That's the damage is done, dude.
14:18I was at Costco the other day, the line just to get gas at Costco.
14:22I didn't even see, they don't put the, they don't advertise the, uh, the, the amount
14:25very big.
14:26Cause I know down here by here, this is the cheapest gas everywhere I go.
14:33Right.
14:34It is, this gas here is 35 cents cheaper than by my house.
14:41And it's three 83.
14:44So it's like four 29.
14:47Like, so I was running out of gas.
14:49I had to, uh, do a gas and go.
14:53Like I was pit stopping 20, 20.
14:56That'd get me down to the good gas.
14:58Cat for life says, get a smart bike.
15:00I saw somebody on a Vespa and I'm like, can I just tell you, look,
15:06let me put this out there.
15:10When you say I'm biking to the gym, I'm going to the beach and bike.
15:17You are giving the thought that you are going for exercise.
15:25If your bike pedals itself, don't come to me saying you went on a bike ride.
15:32I don't think that's what he's doing though.
15:33I think he's just basing that on travel, not exercise.
15:36Those do look fun though.
15:37Electric bikes do look fun.
15:38No, they don't.
15:39Yeah, they kind of do.
15:40Your ass need to pedal.
15:42Uh, fine.
15:43I'll take that.
15:43But I will say I saw a guy ride by on a Vespa.
15:46I knew I couldn't ride that.
15:47I look like a, I look like a.
15:48What about the little electric scooters?
15:51Oh man, those are dangerous.
15:53Yeah.
15:53Those are dangerous.
15:54Not doing that.
15:55Not doing that.
15:57Yeah.
15:59I tried biking, but then like I told you, my back.
16:02Yeah, you had to hitchhike.
16:02My, my, no.
16:04No, you did.
16:05My back started bothering me.
16:08Right.
16:09You had to hitchhike, dude.
16:10Yeah.
16:10You popped the tire.
16:11I got a flat.
16:12Shit, you're with your thumb out like an idiot.
16:15No.
16:16No, I passed the park.
16:18A guy was putting his bike in the back of his truck.
16:20And I said, hey, could I get a ride?
16:21What'd you do?
16:22We'll give takes for a ride?
16:23No.
16:24Could I get a ride?
16:27You went in a car with a stranger?
16:28He sure did.
16:29There's a truck.
16:30I need to get it.
16:31It makes it better?
16:32I need to get home.
16:35Where are y'all headed?
16:37That's terrifying.
16:38Why?
16:40Because that's scary.
16:41The fact that he let me, he gave me a ride.
16:45Like, yeah.
16:46What if he killed you?
16:47How?
16:49I don't know.
16:49What do you mean how?
16:51A gun?
16:52What do you mean how?
16:52A bevy of weapons?
16:54And then you showed him where you lived.
16:57You showed him where you lived.
16:58You can't get him.
16:58Oh, you can't get him where he lives.
16:59You can't get him.
17:00Oh, okay.
17:01I mean, unless you're a ninja.
17:04I'm telling you, it's like.
17:06Like, I've tried to get into Leroy's house.
17:08And I'm like.
17:09And they're like.
17:10Mm-mm.
17:13What do you mean?
17:14I'm here for the Super Bowl.
17:17Take a break.
17:17Put it this way.
17:19If I don't have my little card to get in, I have to bring myself in.
17:24Yeah.
17:25Right?
17:25They go.
17:26Who are you going to see?
17:27I'm like.
17:28The name on the driver's license, jackass.
17:31Pfft.
