00:00In regards to selections that the Miami Dolphins could potentially make in the draft, a new mock draft has released.
00:06And I have good news and I have bad news for you guys.
00:10There is no bad news because you're in the front.
00:14Here's why, Vlad.
00:15Here's why there is no bad news.
00:18Because you have so many holes that no matter what position, if you just bring in a guy who can
00:25contribute right away, then it's not bad news.
00:31Now, this is why I say there's good news.
00:34Okay.
00:36The NFL draft released by CBSSports.com has Reuben Bain not being selected in the first 10 picks.
00:45Right.
00:46The bad news is it has the Miami Dolphins passing on Reuben Bain.
00:50And taking a corner of safety.
00:52And taking corner Mansoor DeLane from LSU.
00:57And Reuben Bain going 12th to the Dallas Cowboys.
01:00So, forget here.
01:03Forget how much we all love Reuben Bain.
01:06I can't do it.
01:07I can't forget that, Leroy.
01:08No, you.
01:09But I love him.
01:11You understand.
01:12Hold on.
01:13You understand.
01:14He's like Pickleys.
01:15That the people coming down here that are now making the decisions is looking at this from a different place.
01:25Right.
01:26And if you think of this defense last year, I want to know what position you think would make a
01:36bigger impact right away.
01:38Cornerback.
01:40Well, specifically because of the turnover at cornerback and safety.
01:44Yeah, I would say that for sure.
01:45Okay.
01:46So, well, while you wish they would take, we all wish they would take Reuben Bain.
01:53They're in the process right now of trying to add talent that can come in and play right away.
02:00Who would make more of an impact at that pick?
02:05Now, Leroy, you've mentioned this to me because you've spoken on the draft multiple times.
02:10And now I'm putting your ideologies to the test with this.
02:15You've constantly told me draft the best player available.
02:20Now, in this case, if Reuben Bain is available, do I draft the best player available or the best player
02:25that fits my team?
02:27Okay.
02:28Let's think of it this way.
02:33When you draft 11th, there's 10 picks before you.
02:40And everybody has a draft board with all of the grades of players.
02:48Okay.
02:49Now, here's what you don't know.
02:52You don't know how those first 10 picks are going to go.
02:56Because sometimes what ends up happening is, say if somebody takes Maui Noah, that means that everybody's going to think,
03:05uh-oh, if there's a first grade on any other offensive lineman, I better jump on it now.
03:09Because I ain't going to be able to get him.
03:11He ain't going to drop.
03:12So, there's a move on offensive linemen.
03:15That means that all these guys who were maybe ranked in the top five or the top 10 moved down.
03:23That means that now you might not have an offensive lineman that is available, but a guy that was supposed
03:30to go in the top five ends up falling down at a position you need.
03:36Not saying Ruben Bain wouldn't be better.
03:40But what I'm saying is, for what the Dolphins need to, what voids they need to fill, two guys that
03:50are graded as top 10 picks, one guy may be graded as a top five pick, falls down to you.
04:00Then you can select based on need if all things are created equal.
04:06That's all I'm saying.
04:08Now, if the draft goes the way it goes and the corner from the guy from Ohio State goes top
04:17five and then the guy from LSU goes, the guy from LSU was hurt, right, last year?
04:24He was hurt last year.
04:25He ends up going top eight, and now you have Bain that's available.
04:32Now you're making a decision based on this is the best available player.
04:37And if we go and draft anybody above Ruben Bain, it would be considered a reach.
04:44Then I would consider taking Ruben Bain.
04:46But because you don't know how the draft is going to play out, it's hard to make that determination with
04:55who would be available along with Ruben Bain at 11.
05:01I don't think I like your attitude, Leroy.
05:04My attitude is what the draft has always been.
05:07Real sassy.
05:08You trying to pick and choose who you should get before the draft, and sometimes the draft plays out in
05:14a way that a whole nother player becomes available that you never thought you were going to be able to
05:19get.
05:20And then your game has to change.
05:23If you have a player that fits what you want to do that you didn't think was going to be
05:29available that becomes available, then you go ahead on to take him.
05:33I can't tell you how the draft is going to play out.
05:35Like, it's crazy how somebody can make a bad choice, and then teams panic and start following and making bad
05:45choices.
05:46Could you see Mendoza will be taking in the draft from home?
05:52Yeah.
05:53He said he's not going to.
05:54So he'd be down here.
05:56No, he should be in Vegas negotiating his country.
06:00I know he'll probably be down here, but he should be in Vegas negotiating.
06:03Why?
06:04Because he knows he's number one.
06:06Let me tell you this.
06:07Let me tell you this, Lee Ray.
06:08You know what I don't want to see on April 23rd?
06:10That's what I don't want to see.
06:12I don't want to see Roger Goodell come out and say, welcome, everyone, to the 2026 NFL draft, and the
06:19Las Vegas Raiders are on the clock.
06:20And I see the clock ticking.
06:23Everybody and their grandmother knows it's...
06:25I know what you're getting ready to say.
06:27Like, even when Wimby was taken, we all know Wimby was going to be taken.
06:32Why are you letting the clock go down to zero?
06:34That's why I just...
06:35Let's keep it moving.
06:36The one time I will give Cleveland credit, they knew they were taking Baker.
06:40They let everybody know the day before they were taking Baker.
06:43Right.
06:43And Baker was already in Cleveland negotiating his contract.
06:46Correct.
06:47They didn't waste any time.
06:49And, Vlad, let me help you out here, brother.
06:55I appreciate what you're saying, and I'm with you.
06:58But I'm going to also say this.
07:01Don't ever use the Cleveland Browns as an example of how to beat.
07:05Right?
07:06Your argument dies.
07:09Your argument dies.
07:11I don't usually agree with them.
07:13It's bad, but they actually did one thing that was actually good.
07:17Who is also not with the team anymore.
07:19You're right, but at least they knew they were going to draft them.
07:22They didn't waste anyone's time.
07:24They had them go to Cleveland and negotiate it.
07:26That's probably the one time they did something right.
07:28I don't like the draft games when you know what the hell you're going to do.
07:35So, right now, as of right now, you know what they say?
07:39Roger Goodell should say, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
07:43With the first pick, the Raiders, so-and-so's on the clock.
07:47That should be the first three minutes.
07:48New York Jets, you're on the clock.
07:51Right.
07:51That's it.
07:52We get to the second pick, and let's go.
07:55But you know why they do that, right?
07:57Oh, so the NFL-
08:00Commercials, so ESPN could go talk to folks, so we can see the cameras that are parking in
08:09Mendoza's house.
08:10Right, making lines.
08:11It's, oh, we're getting news out here from the Giants, you know, the war room that they
08:17might be making a move to trade up.
08:19Can I ask you a question?
08:22Over the years, whose war room did you never want to go to?
08:27I never wanted to see the Browns' war room.
08:31That's not a war room.
08:32Because I don't want to see the chaos that is the Cleveland Browns at times, with some
08:37of the decisions they made.
08:38There's a bunch of teams out there.
08:40The Cowboys' war room, I like, because it's a bad decision that you could rip.
08:44It's a bad decision waiting to happen.
08:46It's a bad decision waiting to happen, so you could rip Jerry.
08:48But look, they showed up 20 people in the room talking about a football, and then they
08:55see Jerry Jones on the end with a piece of paper, and they're all thinking, I don't know
08:59why we're doing this.
09:01I'm just confused, though.
09:02She says he wants to go to the war room Diana Rossini's reporting on, from, right?
09:07You think she's reporting from New England, Miss Sun?
09:09Oh, stop!
09:11You think she's going to be reporting from New England?
09:12You know, somebody probably, they probably said something about it, right?
09:15That we're friends, and blah, blah, blah.
09:17No, they did, and they, you know, they're trying to keep it on the run.
09:20It's just that, you know, you're married and kids.
09:21You ain't buying it?
09:23No, man.
09:23She's trying to get that inside school.
09:27Hey!
