00:00so reuben bain jr yeah i don't know if you guys need to know about this but uh a couple
00:06years ago
00:06in 2024 he was involved in a car crash in which the car he was driving barreled into someone else
00:15on i-95 north of miami ricocheted off the car he hit careened into a barrier and the young woman
00:27in the car he hit a 22 year old student by the name of destiny bets was put into a
00:35coma
00:36and she died three months later like i don't know if you need to know this at all but yeah
00:42this did happen two years ago this is new information that was dug up by a website called
00:53the read optional i have many questions about this there are so-called nfl insiders who say yeah
01:04we were aware of this situation i don't know why it's a big deal and that's kind of your stance
01:09my stance is we are scrutinizing all these nfl picks and we are now t-minus one week and three
01:19days
01:19from the first round choose them up which mr bain is due to go somewhere in the top 10
01:25and this is the first we're hearing about this now for the record the crash alleges bain was driving a
01:352021 land rover that had three other passengers she was in the car with him hurricane football players
01:42wesley basant and nigick kelly uh she was in the car with them yeah uh thank you for that uh
01:50the
01:50vehicle rear-ended another car veered into a concrete barrier then ricocheted into another barrier
01:55before coming to rest on the shoulder of the highway it's clear that he must have been traveling at a
02:00high rate of speed bets was taken to the rider trauma center in miami uh the outlet reported that
02:06betts was in a coma for three months before she died from her injuries in june of 2024 bain was
02:12cited at the time of the incident but charges were dropped prior to the young woman's death
02:19in a statement given to the read optional over the weekend the young woman's family called the crash a
02:26quote tragic accident unquote and said they wish mr bain the best as he continues his life and career
02:36they did not test him for any kind of impairment at the scene of the crash and i say that
02:45with no
02:45sort of insinuation like they didn't even test him uh it's just they might not have seen any signs to
02:52indicate giving him a field sobriety test but we don't know what do you make of this
03:01i don't make anything of it i make the fact that he had an accident
03:05and when you have an accident things can happen and transpire i don't think we look at an accident
03:11like this and someone losing their life as we do somebody going out and shooting somebody or just
03:16strangling them or whatever else um the people that needed to know knew and i think us as media people
03:25and fans we feel we got to know everything the question i ask is why what do you do with
03:32it
03:34because jalen carter and you go back there were multiple people who've been in accidents someone
03:41lost their life jalen carter killed a person and they were still playing recklessly driving
03:45aaron hernandez purposely did something that we didn't know about right and guess what he had to do
03:51the second time when we finally heard and he was still playing the nfl already i just don't think
03:57if it's an accident it's an accident that doesn't that doesn't that doesn't change my mind zabe think
04:06what you wish what if they were drunk if they were drunk we probably know they were drunk what if
04:10they
04:10were racing if they were racing yes if they were drunk yes what if none of that were just being
04:16irresponsible what if he was going 110 miles but see you keep acting what ifs i mean we're talking
04:22about the situation the family has come out and say we wish him the best why is it that is
04:27a problem
04:28to everybody else well you know one of the reasons why they may have said that why funny still they
04:36may
04:36well have been paid they could have got paid handsomely by reuben bain jr to say look we're not going
04:43to let this affect his draft status and cost him millions but that but having you say oh my god
04:49our daughter was put in a coma and killed because reuben bain jr was going 110 miles an hour that's
04:54the whole thing about it at 4 a.m you are doing what most people typically do you are throwing
04:59out
04:59stuff that you have no clue or idea if that's factual but you're throwing it out and it's going to
05:04stick
05:04to a lot of people you have no clue if everything you're saying is factual i don't have but you're
05:09doing
05:09it and that's what people do all the time especially when it's an athlete because doctors
05:14lawyers priests all these people do stuff every day and the same thing happened and you know we say
05:19they need help when it's an athlete he had to know he had to be this he was a kid
05:25at 20 years old 21
05:27years old 19 possibly he was going into his sophomore year who had an accident who did something
05:32stupid like a lot of us have done did we kill somebody maybe not but we could have well you're
05:38just
05:38caping up for the athlete i'm not caping up for the athlete you did you explicitly said i said they
05:44only do this for athletes so so you're caping up for the average person who just want to poop on
05:49the
05:49athlete so let's be real i have i'm asking i was i was experienced i experienced this this deal being
05:57an athlete and now i've been in the media for more years than i was an athlete and i see
06:02the people
06:02in the media are just as trifling as they were when i was an athlete i am with you all
06:08all the time
06:08most people in the athlete do more stuff than the damn athlete in the media do worse stuff than
06:14athlete does but nobody writes about them but my thing is he had an accident whatever happened
06:20happened that's not gonna stop him from getting drafted well and the fact that you i'm not trying
06:27to stop him from getting the fact that you didn't know what difference does he make well i i find
06:33it
06:33fascinating on two fronts one is that all these insiders some of whom say well we were aware of this
06:39this was not in the ecosystem of the draft industrial complex until just now a week before this is highly
06:49unusual this is a oh surprise it's not a surprise to you it's not a surprise to i guarantee you
06:56it's no surprise to the to the teams out there i don't know how this stuff is it's technically
07:01public record but nobody sort of fished it out nobody said hey by the way you should know this
07:08because here's the thing there is a direct precedent with rubin with jalen carter and which jalen carter
07:16was still taken in the top 10 he slipped a little bit and he's a hell of a player but
07:21he's also you know
07:23got kicked out of the first game of the year last year in the first minute on the first play
07:28by spitting in a dude's face okay like what's up with that but what does that have to do with
07:33the
07:33accident well it's a character it's a character issue where i would want to know more about this
07:40because if say rubin bain jr was going 110 and swerving in and out of traffic like rashie rice
07:48or like jalen carter that would affect whether or not i'm going to invest the seventh overall pick
07:55especially if i've got sunny styles exactly what i'm saying one a and one b but that's exactly what
08:01i'm saying the people that's going to draft him no you are you sure they knew you know it has
08:08no make no difference to nobody okay so you're sure adam peter's knew about bro i will tell you
08:14how when i was getting drafted back in the in the ice ages they were doing stuff then you can't
08:20tell
08:21me this look bro they okay they had people go to the police department in my town they did all
08:27type
08:27stuff in the town i went to college did they find anything they investigate all kinds of yeah they
08:32tell me i i was uh which come i was uh arrested for drug dealing when it was my brother
08:37so they can
08:39make mistakes but they can find out stuff but the ultimate thing is the league is they got they
08:46crossing uh the t's and dotting the i's and or turning over stones to try to find out everything
08:51they can't but you don't think the nfl has already told you that some things depending on the player
08:58doesn't stop us from drafting them anyway all right so peters you believe knew about it no
09:05has known about it as i would think i would think more people around the nfl knew stuff do you
09:12think
09:12anyone in the nfl is now like oh didn't know that or do you think they all knew it and
09:21if they all knew
09:22it and if people who talk and cover the league and go to the combine and indy if they all
09:28knew it
09:29were they hoping the rest of us wouldn't find out were they hoping to just like i don't think i
09:35don't
09:35think i don't think that is it because to be honest i think we as fans public and and media
09:42we
09:42give ourselves too much credit you think they give a damn if you find out if they go draft somebody
09:47so
09:47why wouldn't they say oh by the way because that's not that's not a part of me trying to get
09:52the story
09:52out about him all you care all people care about is how fast somebody run how high they jump no
09:59that's
09:59not all you care that's what most people care about yes they do nfl people care about the total
10:04i told you the nfl people know is you wanting to know now you wonder why they didn't tell you
10:10why
10:10they didn't tell other people well they know if it's not a big deal why was it a secret that's
10:16the
10:16thing zay you i don't need to know what's going on in your house i'm not an nfl draft pick
10:22i don't
10:22care i know but that's the big difference but these guys are scrutinized they're trying to make a
10:26judgment of who are we getting into business of because we have here but they get into the
10:34business and they are the people that needs to be concerned about it you seem like you're butthurt
10:38because you didn't know about it i'm not butthurt it seems like it because you want to know so much
10:43the people that are going to draft him or not they know and they've made their opinions already
10:48you
