00:00Let's talk about all these insiders talking about the Cowboys moving up.
00:04Brian Bross with a great surprise call in one hour ago.
00:08Takeaways from that?
00:11Sounded like he said they would take Styles in the scenario you gave him.
00:16Now, you didn't throw Bain into it, but you said if Downs, Delane.
00:21Yeah, it was Downs, Delane, and Styles.
00:24And the reason I didn't throw Bain into it is because I think Bain is clearly four.
00:27Of those three, I don't think they would.
00:30So if they had that setup where those guys had fallen to them, I think they'd take any of those
00:35three above Bain.
00:36How much are we making of the Reuben Bain accident report that came out yesterday involved in a fatal collision
00:44in 2024?
00:46It sounds like the family has moved on.
00:49Things got settled.
00:50There were some whispers two weeks ago that they were waiting for him to be drafted.
00:55And then the lawsuit would hit.
00:58But by all accounts, in reading this, it sounds like things have been settled and everyone is trying to move
01:05forward.
01:05I love all these insiders.
01:07Oh, you guys are acting like this is new.
01:10Teams have known about this.
01:11All right.
01:11Well, you didn't say nothing.
01:12So shut up.
01:13This guy broke it from the read optional.
01:16All you national people just sit there and give the credit and keep your mouth shut.
01:20And stop taking away from the report.
01:22He had the balls to say it.
01:23You didn't.
01:24He went and got the records and everyone's like, oh, this is old news.
01:28Well, you didn't say nothing and no one knew about it.
01:30Well, and I would say it's only old news in the sense of if people think yesterday all of a
01:37sudden like has teams scrambling.
01:38It's it's news to like the public consuming.
01:41And so it's a good it's good reporting and everything else like that.
01:44But but in terms of like like I had some people yesterday going like, well, after today, teams will be
01:48out or after day he's going to fall.
01:50It's like, well, if you've heard that teams like him in the first round in the last couple of weeks,
01:54they knew about this.
01:55And so they still liked him knowing this.
01:58And so I think it's important for people to at least understand that anything you've heard buzz wise about your
02:04team, maybe being interested in Bain is probably the same today as it would have been two days ago because
02:09they they were factoring this in.
02:11Yeah, it sounds like I'll try to separate things.
02:15Someone did lose their life.
02:16Let's keep that in mind.
02:19There's going to be a Laramie Tunsil comparison.
02:21There's going to be a Jalen Carter comparison.
02:23He was involved in a fatal crash months before the draft.
02:26He did drop to number nine on the board.
02:29We know Jalen Carter is a beast.
02:33There's some teams that are not thrilled with the way he's answering it.
02:37So I think that is that's actually the bigger deal, because it sounds like all the legal stuff is is
02:43is put to bed and the family is not out for blood and trying to, you know, get him when
02:50he's on the clock and on the board.
02:52So, number one, is he careless about it?
02:56Was he honest about it?
02:57And then number two, is this guy a driver from Georgia?
03:02Is this going to be is this going to be a consistent issue with him out there on the road?
03:08That's what I'd be thinking about if I was a team interviewing him.
03:10Do you do you take in anything differently or do you do you put it in different contexts?
03:15Now, knowing what, you know, do you put in different contexts thinking back of him at combat where he's like,
03:19I'm all football, guys.
03:20I don't do anything.
03:21I don't even go out because I'm so focused on football.
03:24Like, I think the undertones there when you look back on this is probably also a public declaration to teams
03:29of like, guys, just so you know, the only thing I care about is football.
03:32I'm not I'm not a reckless individual who's out partying all the time.
03:35And this is a bad instance.
03:36And I think he wants he wants people to understand that.
03:39But, yeah, you got to be careful to if you're talking about it those ways or you're trying so hard
03:44to to basically make people think, hey, this isn't me.
03:48You got to be very careful about being dismissive of it when you talk to teams.
03:51And I think that that's what he would run the risk.
03:53I mean, the hope the hope is, is that this is one of those.
03:57I mean, that he learned his lesson.
03:59He doesn't.
03:59This is now why he doesn't go out.
04:02Right.
04:02Maybe that there's there's possible people have gotten DUIs and don't even drive again.
04:07I will say, you know, I'm done.
04:09This explains, I think, because there was part of this report is that Nigel Lee Kelly, who was at Miami
04:14at the time, was in the car and he ended up transferring a month later to UCF.
04:20And I think that that that explains some things when you see the Cowboys, for instance, have visited Nigel Lee
04:27Kelly.
04:27It wouldn't surprise me if they're trying to get answers about, hey, what went on with you in that situation
04:32in Miami?
04:33Zero to ten impact.
04:34You think this will have on him throughout the league?
04:38Ten being red flag.
04:41Let's say a two.
04:44No, a five.
04:46Like, just in terms of like, to me, it's like it's worth noting, like every team will have it in
04:51their notes on him of just like we need to monitor and more because of how he more because of
04:57how he potentially has answered it and just turn some people like it'll break ties in some instances, I would
05:02think.
05:03Yeah, but I would still say the bigger issue that's probably an eight for a lot of teams is his
05:07arms.
05:08Yeah.
05:09Yeah, boy, isn't that the end?
05:10Isn't that very football is that your your your your short arms are more are a bigger drawback than your
05:15tenant to your ability to because like what you know what?
05:18So it wasn't alcohol, right?
05:20It was careless driving, which could be speed.
05:23Not how it's been reported.
05:25It has not been reported that it was an alcohol thing.
05:27So if that's the case, yeah, teams may look at it and go and the charge was later dismissed.
05:32Yeah.
05:32So if they go settled civilly, no criminal charge, like what's yeah, then they may care more about, OK, well,
05:39how did it mess with his head potentially or how has he learned from it?
05:43Where's the speed on here?
05:44Like, am I getting him going 150?
05:46I'm not seeing that.
05:47Right.
05:47I'm not because there's and I don't know what the difference is.
05:50I can leave at 80.
05:51Right.
05:52And a lot of us weave at a that could be careless versus reckless.
05:56I don't know what the difference is being careless and reckless because, I mean, you know, it sucks.
06:00But, you know, car accidents do happen.
06:02All the time.
06:03Frankl.
06:03And that's not, you know, car accident isn't necessarily like, you know, a reason to drop somebody.
06:09Now, a car accident with alcohol, with drugs, with, you know, 16 people in the vehicle, which is not legal.
06:18Right.
06:19I mean, seatbelt per person that that's something different than, you know, driving just 80 miles an hour down the
06:25highway and getting into an accident.
06:26Yeah, I think the way you hear people talk about it around the league, it sounds like it was.
06:35It sounds like it was it was obviously not good and it was reckless what occurred, but it sounds like
06:40a lot of teams view it as like this is why you tell kids all the time who drive fast
06:46and do different things.
06:46So, like, you can't do that.
06:48And so it sounded more like this is something that a lot of people his age do that he got
06:54he had the unfortunate ending to it.
06:57He was the cautionary tale.
06:58And so I think a lot of people look at it as like it's awful.
07:01It was a mistake, but it's also what a lot of these same kids in this draft have done.
07:07And they just didn't have the same outcome.
07:08Todd McShay, Bruce Feldman, Dane Brugler, and now Ian Rappaport talking, all talking about the Cowboys potentially moving up next
07:19Thursday.
07:20The Cowboys are my team most likely to trade up.
07:23Again, this is not for clickbait.
07:25This is real.
07:25I expect them to be at least in the mix potentially for coming up for a pass rusher or other
07:31top defensive players.
07:32So maybe that's I don't know.
07:33Let's say it's someone like Ruben Bain.
07:36Let's say it's Mesidor.
07:37Let's say somehow, someway, Sonny Stiles goes to seven, eight, maybe nine.
07:42The Cowboys right now are sitting at 12.
07:44So if you look at the landscape there, you have several teams who would potentially be open to moving back.
07:52Might the Cowboys jump up a little bit to get a key defensive piece in an offseason when it has
07:57been all about fixing that defense?
08:00Tired or flustered?
08:03Flustered.
08:03I'm not tired.
08:04You know, I did not sleep as much as I should have yesterday.
08:07Me neither.
08:07And my wife was up when I left, too.
08:09I don't know what it was.
08:10Yeah.
08:10Did not sleep as much as I should have over the week.
08:13I slept great.
08:14Um, look, they want to trade up.
08:17I'm against it.
08:18And Broadus was supporting that an hour ago.
08:20I'm against trading up.
08:22But if you're going to trade up, I just don't want 20 and next year's one are just there are
08:30no goes for me.
08:31So if you trip to nine, right, you can trip to nine and not get rid of 20.
08:3520 is a no go for you in what sense?
08:37Or like a like you can't just be 12 and 20 to go up and get a single pick or
08:42yes, you don't want to you don't even want to shift positions with 20.
08:45No, no, no.
08:45I don't want to.
08:45I don't want to use a first to go up when they get out of this draft and next year.
08:51I need three first round picks take 12, 24, nine and 29.
08:55That's Kansas City's picks.
08:56So you're OK with that kind of thing.
08:57I need two.
08:58I need two ones this year.
08:59I just want to lose the first.
09:01Lose an extra.
09:01I don't want to.
09:02Yeah.
09:02To me, when you traded Micah, you had a golden opportunity to reset your roster and your cap with four
09:09first round picks.
09:10They got rid of one already on Quinnen.
09:13You know, Quinnen's a good player.
09:14He's young.
09:16But I just want to come away with this.
09:18I need three first round picks taken in the next in the next two drafts.
09:23Yeah, man, I this is going the opposite way for me.
09:27You have all these needs, all this money tied up, two firsts, and now we're talking about giving one a
09:36way to move up.
09:36Now, I understand what Broadus is saying.
09:40It makes you feel better as a scout to get the sure thing.
09:45Now, there's no such thing as a sure thing.
09:46But you probably feel a lot better taking someone at five than you do at 25.
09:52Probably as a scout.
09:53So, it's like, all right, you know that's your guy.
09:56You love the guy.
09:57Go and get your guy.
09:58That seems to be Broadus' feel.
10:00And I'm looking at empty seats.
10:04I'm not worried about right now, like, who sits at the front of the class.
10:08I'm worried about filling the chairs with as many first, second, third rounders as possible.
10:13I need bodies.
10:15I'm about quantity right now still over quality.
10:18And that's the way I've been about the entire Cowboys offseason.
10:21Let's say you're looking at it, though, and you do say—
10:23And I don't like—I'm sorry, Bobby, real quick.
10:25I do not like that Broad—and I'm not disagreeing with him, but I would hate that they're thinking
10:33that we have to take Sonny Stiles because we didn't address this at linebacker, even though
10:39Brian Schottenheimer said, we can draft pure.
10:40We can be pure now.
10:42Right, pure draft.
10:42And people are like, did you sign a linebacker?
10:45You're not really that pure.
10:47And Broadus seemed to be dropping in that reminder that if Stiles fell down there to 12
10:54and you had other options, that Stiles would be the guy because of your need.
10:58But I think it also, at that point, blends with them a little bit because I think they might—
11:03I think there's a decent shot Stiles would be the highest graded of those three for them.
11:07Yeah.
11:08And so it does—
11:10He's certainly the highest mocked consistently when it comes to Downs, Bain, Delane.
11:17Sonny Stiles is going at five.
11:19So, like, where do they go up?
11:21Do they go up to three?
11:22Do they go up to six?
11:23Well, if they go up to three, that sounds like David Bailey to me.
11:27If they go up to six, that sounds like Sonny Stiles.
11:31If they go up to nine, that sounds more like Delane or Downs.
11:34I would think that.
11:35And then sit there at 12 and wait.
11:37You're hoping for Bain, I would guess.
11:39All right.
11:39Let's see what Bobby has.
11:40Are you doing this with stick and pick?
11:42Or you have movement down there?
11:44I did not do any trades.
11:46Oh, man.
11:47And you're predicting what you think will happen?
11:49What I think will happen with all teams.
11:51So this is just based on what we've seen consistently, reporting that's been out there,
11:56people I've talked to, various things like that.
11:58So, number one, Raiders take Fernando Mendoza.
12:01Number two, the Jets.
12:03I'm putting Reese there, not Bailey.
12:08So the biggest reporter for the Jets out there, Rich Cimini, has been adamant not moving off of it that
12:17it'll be Reese.
12:18And so I know DJ and some other people have put David Bailey there, and that's become pretty common.
12:25But he was just asked to do a mock for the Bengals website last week, and he said, or they
12:31said in it that he had said, no, it's Reese.
12:34EJ?
12:34No, Rich Cimini.
12:36And then he was like, I'm not.
12:37He has said it's Reese for two months, and he's not moving from it.
12:41So that, to me, makes me feel, I think I'd side with him in that instance.
12:46Arizona at that point, I think they'd try to trade out of there, but if they don't, then David Bailey,
12:51Texas Tech.
12:52Number four, Titans, Jeremiah Love, Notre Dame running back.
12:56Number five, Sonny Stiles, linebacker, Ohio State.
13:00Then I think the Browns take...
13:01Some people speculate in that the Giants were in love with Love as well, which I would love.
13:06And there's been a chatter that the Giants could, if they're sitting there and staring at Maui Noah still, they
13:11might go.
13:11Well, we've got to fix our trenches on both sides.
13:15Six, Francis Maui Noah to the Browns.
13:17There's been a lot of smoke in the last week or so about.
13:20It had been Monroe Freeling.
13:21Spencer Fano from Utah has gotten a lot of buzz around them.
13:24But I think Maui Noah, you just take the top tackle there.
13:26Commanders, Carnell Tate, receiver, Ohio State.
13:30Number eight, Saints, Makai Lemon, receiver from USC.
13:33And then this is more a projection of, I think the Chiefs bail out and take this guy.
13:37But there's a lot of buzz about Jordan Tyson, the receiver from Arizona State and the Chiefs.
13:43Ten, Caleb Downs, the safety.
13:45Matt Miller's hot take was that Jordan Tyson takes a draft day tumble outside the top 20.
13:50His hamstring, they were asked for hot takes.
13:52All right, wall of hot takes.
13:54His hamstring issues are concerning for teams, causing him to miss three straight games in November.
13:59He also had eight drops in 2024.
14:02Teams I've talked to like Tyson's juice as a route runner in his production.
14:06But the injuries and the drops are causing him to slide behind Tate, Lemon on the receiver board.
14:12It's even possible Omar Cooper gets picked before him.
14:15If he doesn't have injury concerns, then he does have a lot.
14:18If he doesn't have injury concerns, he to me is a slam dunk top five in this draft.
14:22Top five pick?
14:23Tyson, yeah.
14:24He's your top receiver.
14:25Yes.
14:26Tyson's a stud.
14:27Tyson to me reminds me of Malik Neighbors.
14:29I think he's really, really good.
14:31Does Tate get a lot of, I shouldn't say a lot of, less attention because who's on the other side
14:38from him?
14:38Tate's just very, I think Tate can be boring in a positive way.
14:44He very much is like, he's similar to like, he's bigger than him, but he reminds me a little bit
14:49of like Calvin Ridley.
14:50Like he's just very smooth and like very precise.
14:53He's just, he's solid.
14:54Yeah.
14:54But you don't ever see anything where you're like, holy cow, there's a George Pickens catch from Carnell Tate.
14:58That'd be great at the boring things.
15:0010, Bengals take Caleb down, safety from Ohio State.
15:03Boo.
15:0311, the Dolphins take Mansoor Delane, cornerback LSU.
15:06Boo.
15:07Boo.
15:07And then 12, the Cowboys sit there, they stick and pick, and it's Reuben Bain, Edger Usher, Miami.
15:12Mmm.
15:12Boo.
15:13Then you go down the list.
15:15I'm good with it.
15:15I'm good with that.
15:16I'm okay with it.
15:17I'll tell you this.
15:18You want a hot take.
15:20Reuben Bain's biggest drawback is not going to be his short arms.
15:24It's his hairline.
15:25Yeah.
15:26That hairline, what's it got?
15:27Two mortgages?
15:28Yeah.
15:29Three kids?
15:30He's going to have low T at 28.
15:32He's the Bobby Shave.
15:33We're going to have a problem here.
15:34Quiddy Pei.
15:35He had a similar hairline, and Quiddy Pei was a bust.
15:38So I think given history, we've got to like that.
15:39I think that's a low T thing, and you can't get on testosterone in the NFL, right?
15:4413, Rams.
15:45They apparently love Makai Lemon, but he's not here in this instance, so I give him Spencer
15:48Fano, the tackle from Utah.
15:50Ravens take Vega.
15:51Ioanni, the guard from Penn State.
15:53Buccaneers at 15.
15:54Keldrick Falk, the address from Auburn.
15:56Jets at 16.
15:57Omar Cooper, receiver from Indiana.
15:5917, Lions take Monroe Freeling, tackle from Georgia.
16:02Vikings at 18.
16:03Take Dylan Thienemann, safety from Oregon.
16:04There's been a lot of chatter about Emmanuel McNeil-Warren there.
16:07I don't know that McNeil-Warren goes in the first round.
16:0919, Panthers take Kenyon Sadiq, tight end from Oregon.
16:12That's probably good value there.
16:14A lot of people think he's like a top 15 player.
16:16And then 20, the Dallas Cowboys select Colton Hood, cornerback Tennessee.
16:19With Jermon McCoy on the board.
16:21Is that McNeil-Warren, that's the Toledo guy?
16:24Yep.
16:24Yeah.
16:25I've got it.
16:25I have trouble with Toledo players every year, it feels like.
16:29And then just to round it out, Caden Proctor, Alabama lineman, goes to the Steelers.
16:33Caden McDonald, the defensive tackle from Ohio State to the Chargers.
16:36Eagles take Denzel Boston, receiver from Washington.
16:39Browns take Casey Concepcion, receiver from Texas A&M.
16:42Bears take Hakeem Mesidor, edge rusher from Miami.
16:45Bills take Anthony Hill, the linebacker from Texas.
16:4749ers, T.J. Parker, edge Clemson.
16:50Then you've got the Texans taking Chase Passantis, the guard from Texas A&M.
16:56Chiefs at 29 take Jermon McCoy, cornerback from Tennessee.
16:59And then you've got the Dolphins taking C.J. Allen, the linebacker from Georgia.
17:03Patriots, Cassius Howell, edge rusher from A&M.
17:05And finally, of course, because they love running backs, the Seahawks take Jadarian Price, running back from Notre Dame.
17:10Bobby Belt with his first mock draft.
17:12Patriots, Texas A&M.
