00:00would you make a deal with the devil let's talk about it here in below the belt which is sponsored
00:05by window nation by the way i like that's how i'm setting it up because it's it's about the
00:10kansas city chiefs is there firm agreement devil i was about to say like who is the nfl devil right
00:17now i felt like i felt like people started getting fatigue of the chiefs the way they did the
00:22warriors yeah but i don't think there was hatred i don't think it was hatred and then the chiefs
00:30over the past two years wait were they in the super bowl two years ago yeah they lost philly
00:35they had that down year and still got there yeah it's just been like a boring ugliness to them to
00:39me to where they're off the radar of hatred yeah and i can never i can never hate my homes
00:46it's hard
00:48to uh you know philly's there i can hate their i can hate your success for my homes like i
00:53hate how
00:54successful he is a little like steph curry but yeah there's nothing dislike like to dislike about
00:58patrick mom's to me philly's there um i mean dallas is always up there yeah yeah say a friend's there
01:05it's probably the cowboys by default even though they're also the most loved yeah now i do think
01:11that there's still some residual because it felt like it came up during the seahawks stuff i think
01:15there's still some residual hatred for the patriots still by like people just lingering of like you
01:21guys are cheaters yeah and i also feel like there's also it's not hatred it's the wrong word you get
01:29sick of teams that always are good but never get there like yeah we're getting sick i'm getting sick
01:34of buffalo like just either win or go away you know detroit either win or go away just something like
01:40you know i mean that's reasonable uh like and so i i that's kind of how i've felt for a
01:46while about
01:46baltimore where it's like we keep talking about them like they win yeah and they don't win enough
01:50win or go away all right so there's been some i don't know if you look through the various draft
01:57content that's out there and everybody's always trying to you know during this season they're trying
02:03to find all right where are your potential trade partners where are potential slides who are guys that
02:07could go super early so everybody's always creating different content of like you know basically
02:12it's just fantasy content but when nationally you start seeing a couple things that everybody like
02:19like a couple different people are presenting similar ideas about things that seem unique enough
02:24it always makes me just pause and go like okay is there something that's bubbling here that
02:29somebody's run into or that they've heard and so i was looking through this article over at nfl.com
02:34from eric at home and he was talking about draft day win-win trades like trades that would be
02:42beneficial to both teams they could have it and he has a trade in here for the dallas cowboys
02:46so we've talked about potentially you get stuck at 12 and you're not in love with any of your options
02:53but 20 is pretty good and it feels like 15 to 25 you're drafting a similar type of player like
02:59in
02:59general it's it's pretty middle heavy um so his suggested trade for the cowboys though is to
03:04trade 20 not 12 and his trade is to send the first round pick number 20 to the chiefs you
03:12also send
03:12them your fifth round pick number 152 and you send them your seventh round pick 218 so it's like okay
03:20what am i getting in return i'm going back in the first round i'm picking at 29 now i dropped
03:25nine spots
03:26i'm picking up a third rounder number 74 overall and that would put me in the top 10 in the
03:31third
03:32round then i get a fifth round pick 148 overall a few spots ahead of the fifth i just sent
03:37them
03:37and then i get another extra fifth 176 i'm all for this if you could swing a deal like that
03:45bring it home that's worth it and you're taking what at 12
03:49uh just i would target best defensive player left whoever that would be that would fall
03:54at 20 i've got a better idea of who would be there that i'd want to target 12 i don't
03:57know who
03:58might be available um because they just it depends on how things go ahead of you but like for instance
04:02we talked about colton hood earlier the cornerback from tennessee colton hood i think is going to be
04:05there at 20 and i don't have like a big worry of like oh there's a landmine you got to
04:09walk here
04:11well is he going to be available at 29 and have i already picked corner at 12 that's why i
04:16asked you
04:16about the first pick right so like let's say i uh let's say i take a non-secondary player at
04:2512
04:26and then i'm telling you hood would be there at 20 but not 29 would you still do it and
04:34i took a
04:34non-secondary player at 12 let's say you got bain at 12 yeah i'll move down you still move down
04:40yep
04:40you're gonna give up your colton hood first round corner because i know i know that i've got
04:46now two third round picks i'm picking four times in the top 100 hey it's not a first no but
04:52it's
04:52like it is something where they've addressed with enough veteran stuff that if i add a third round
04:57corner and i've also gotten bain no i'm not saying that i i love it but i'm saying if i
05:01get bain
05:02and an extra shot to throw in the third round and take avion terrell at 29 or something somebody who
05:09can play inside out i'm still happy with being able to get a third round pick in order to get
05:13the next corner back on the list what about you i like the value on paper yeah but i i
05:19i i feel much
05:21better about it if i've drafted downs or my corner at 12 i uh because i get another third
05:31like honestly man i don't i i i love trading down yeah i do um but i was thinking that
05:39i would like to trade down at 12 that's what you know oh i don't trade down 12 than at
05:4320
05:43oh i would rather man i just think because you get more value for you get more return yeah and
05:50i get
05:50and i give up the better player theoretically i mean theoretically you give it the better player
05:54either way no yeah but i don't want to lose the 12th best player but i'm saying i'm not saying
06:01i'm not saying trade down to 25 from 12 i'm saying trade down from 12 to 14 16 you know
06:10you're still
06:10getting you're still getting a good player you get a good player the way um just just because
06:18you get more value in return from you know going from 12 to 16 you're going to get more than
06:24you're
06:24going to get from dropping from 20 to 25 so jordan reed from espn he's one of their draft analysts
06:33he's really worked his way up i i really think he does a good job he had recently on a
06:39podcast
06:41floated the idea and has done it i think in a couple different areas of like when you're looking
06:45at potential trade areas everybody's talked about cleveland at six but he was looking at and
06:51suggested a couple times what if dallas looks at themselves at 12 and goes we like delane we like
06:57styles we like downs like we were worried about the situation where they all get snatched up right
07:01ahead of us so you ensure you can go up and get one of them kansas city moves back a
07:07little bit so if
07:07you were to say dallas trades 12 and 20 to kansas city for nine and 29 so you're dropping nine
07:17spots
07:18in the back half of the first you're going up three spots in the first round that according to
07:22the trade value chart is actually something that dallas is benefiting on so you might also this is
07:28just my own suggestion on that you might also have to trade that third round pick that you got from
07:33the 49ers and get kansas city's top of the fourth one to make the points work a little bit better
07:38okay but that's just a suggestion for now we're just going to focus on you swap the first
07:42and i'm doing it for downs you're doing it for knowing that downs the styles or delane bain one
07:48of those guys is going to be there you do not have to guess if you get one of the
07:51guys that you've
07:52really focused on 12 and 20 for 9 and 29 i think i'm okay with that i think the potential
08:02discrepancy
08:02between who's available to pick at 9 versus 12 i think that's a bigger discrepancy potentially than
08:08who's available to pick at 20 and you drop down to 29 so i would a hundred percent be in
08:14favor of
08:14doing this if you didn't have that would brought us to this because brought us okay taking mccoy
08:24brought us i think if i told you if mccoy is available at 12 i know you're out on him
08:29regardless
08:30bobby but if you weren't if you did not have this philosophy that you're not taking guys who didn't
08:38play last year off a red shirt basically or whatever would you still make that deal
08:45uh you were totally comfortable like if i was comfortable with mccoy at 12 yeah um
08:52if if not if i if i just like bailey if bailey was or not bailey if mccoy was coming
08:58off a 2024 tape
08:59and that had just never gotten hurt yeah and like he's such a a stud that yeah if he's there
09:05at 12
09:05i'm feeling good about that and picking the only question to me would be does david bailey slide
09:11down to nine the edge rusher from texas tech then i might do it and say well screw that but
09:15i'm not
09:16going to be right now i feel like i might get wiped out of the defensive players i like before
09:20i get to
09:2012 and then it's just like well the defensive players available to me at 12 are the same ones
09:25i'd probably pick at 20 so was this worth it that's why to me i if i can still have
09:31my two
09:31first round picks and i'm just dropping position 20 to 29 i don't think is going to be that huge
09:36a
09:36difference in terms of the type of player you're getting whereas i think 9 to 12 could be a massive
09:41difference yeah so i think that the two spots that could make the most sense for dallas because
09:46we've talked about trading back and adding capital they've wanted to do that if you're talking about
09:51the two spots that make the most sense to go up it would be kansas city at nine or it
09:57would be
09:58cleveland at six and the problem with cleveland at six is that's such a steep cost yeah no so six
10:05to
10:0512 is a 400 point difference on the chart your pick 20 is worth 850 so you would probably have
10:13to take
10:13your first round pick your second one and trade all the way back to 39 in the second round with
10:18cleveland to be able to move up to six but if i tell you you get a superstar pass rusher
10:23like david
10:24bailey sitting there would that potentially be worth it i mean if you tell me he's a superstar
10:30like if i tell you bailey's ceiling a realistic ceiling for him is consistent double digit sack guy
10:39oh gosh probably probably not does downs do it for you if i tell you downs would be there at
10:44six but
10:45not nine so you get like the quarterback of your secondary no oh the downs do it and give me
10:51his
10:51ceiling um like peak minka like is kyle hamilton sure just a little bit different like body type so
11:01that's the only reason why i hesitate there but yeah like erwin one of the top two or three safeties
11:06in
11:06nfl consistently yes because everyone says he's going to quarterback everything and could play the
11:13box could play nickel he he could if they wanted the cow if the guy was going to do this
11:17if they
11:17got caleb downs they could start him at nickel every single snap for the entire year and he could play
11:22there and be a good player for you he doesn't even have to play safety yeah i'd be more i
11:29mean i hate
11:29saying that i'm do it for downs over bailey with how much you love bailey um but i mean that
11:35like
11:35safety versus a dn but again like i mean christian parker talked to us about this and we played audio
11:41of him saying it otherwise that new safety nickel hybrid is becoming such a weapon that teams all the
11:47good teams basically at the end of the year had guys like that like the best teams in the nfl
11:51do have
11:52those kind of hybrid studs all right all of your war room scenarios and be low leave it out
