00:00There's lots of fine sunny weather around for many of us through today and tomorrow with some very high temperatures
00:06as well, particularly for the time of year.
00:08But it's not sunny everywhere. If we look at the earlier satellite imagery, there is a swathe of cloud just
00:14to the west of the UK.
00:16And that's because there's a frontal system here and that is going to edge a little bit further eastwards as
00:22we go through the afternoon.
00:23There is some rain mixed in with this and some of that rain started already to push into the far
00:28west of Northern Ireland, far western parts of Scotland as well.
00:31So into this afternoon towards, well, Tyrone, Firmina in Northern Ireland, there will be some rain and a bit more
00:37cloud, drier further east.
00:39And the Western Isles also seeing a bit of rain as well.
00:42Most places, though, having a dry day, lots of blue sky, lots of sunshine.
00:46And with that sunshine, then temperatures are rising.
00:48Most places getting mid to high teens or even low 20s.
00:52And in fact, with a bit of a fern effect, parts of north, northwestern Wales could be looking at highs
00:57of around 24, 25 Celsius.
01:00And even towards the Moray area of northern Scotland, we could be looking at low 20s.
01:04So likely to be the UK's warmest day of the year so far and feeling pretty warm for many of
01:10us as well with that sunshine.
01:11That sunshine clings on across the bulk of England and Wales as we go through this evening.
01:15Just a bit more cloud and some rain at times across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:20The rain, though, not especially heavy as we go overnight and most places staying largely dry.
01:26Because there will be some clear skies around and generally light winds, a few things to bear in mind.
01:30Yes, temperatures will take a bit of a drop from the daytime highs.
01:34But we're only looking at most places falling to mid to high single figures, really.
01:39So not especially chilly first thing on Wednesday morning.
01:42But do bear in mind there could also be some pockets of mist and fog around some western areas and
01:47perhaps some sea fog coming in around Irish sea coastal parts as well.
01:51But that shouldn't last particularly long.
01:53Should clear as we go through tomorrow morning because the sun's going to burn any of that fog away quite
01:58quickly.
01:59And that's because tomorrow again it is going to be another largely sunny day.
02:03A bit of cloud again across parts of Scotland.
02:05A bit more widespread compared to Tuesday.
02:08And there will be a few spots of rain, maybe the odd spot of rain across parts of northern England
02:12as well.
02:12But for most it is looking generally dry.
02:15Again, across the bulk of England and Wales, largely sunny skies.
02:19And a slight shift in our wind direction means a slight shift in where we're going to see the highest
02:24temperatures.
02:25It looks like it will be across eastern, southeastern England where we see the greatest warmth on Wednesday.
02:30And temperatures do look like there will be a few degrees higher than today.
02:34We're looking at highs around 26, possibly 27 Celsius, which is exceptionally high for this stage in April.
02:41You have to go back to 2020, that remarkably sunny spring, for temperatures this high this early in the year.
02:48So it is, yes, going to be a very warm day for this time in April across some eastern parts
02:54of England.
02:55Further north and west, temperatures a fair few degrees lower than this.
02:58And obviously not feeling as warm because there won't be as much sunshine here as well.
03:03But will the warmth last through the week?
03:06No, it's not going to.
03:07We are going to see colder air pushing its way through.
03:10And with that, Friday morning could be a bit frosty.
03:13There could even be some sleet and snow towards northern parts.
03:16And generally it is going to turn more unsettled, particularly by the time that we get to the weekend.
03:21There will be some showery rain and some blustery winds pushing through as well.
03:24We'll have more details on that as we get nearer the time.
03:27But do remember that Annie will be around with a deep dive this Tuesday.
03:31You can catch that on our YouTube channel with lots of exciting, interesting information about the weather.
03:37Bye bye.
