A Better Business Bureau complaint from 2023 confirms Birmingham Radiological Group erroneously sends bills to patient families for procedures performed after they have died! The complainant spouse mentions this was for a scan performed in December, 2022 although the patient in question has been deceased for several years. Multiple attempts to correct this issue (and obligations made by BRG) have not been successful.

My own experience as a misdiagnosed patient (by 3 of their doctors (Julian Patrick Druhan MD, Donald Shane Kelly MD, Angus Baird) missed broken bone in the underside of my skull in 4 separate scans). When I confronted BRG CEO Doyle Stewart with evidence of his doctors misdiagnosing me, I was mocked and led into a circular, dead end argument with word games. They refused to correct their doctors errors or place me in contact with the doctors. My phone call was recorded can be heard in other videos. Ascension & American Health Imaging have also refused to correct negligence in my case worth millions of dollars.

Birmingham Radiological Group (Alabama) appointed Shannon Sykes (who holds no medical qualifications or certifications) through which to issue a rebuttal to my Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint as a consumer. The group's title appears on the top of a bill for one of these medical scans in 2019. 3 member doctors of this group (Julian Patrick Druhan MD, Angus Baird MD and Donald Shane Kelly MD), radiologists, misdiagnosed medical image scans (X-Rays, CT Scans & MRI scans I had done between 2018-2019 at Saint Vincent's East Hospital (Ascension) & American Health Imaging). I went into the emergency room and to doctors believing I had broken my neck or skull. The doctors took these scans and typed up in official records I had no injury. I obtained the images and written records later and found I had broken the basilar area of my skull.

BRG compliance officer Shannon Sykes replied on their behalf in my own BBB complaint. Again, she has no medical qualifications. According to internet sources, BRG makes around 10 million dollars revenue annually. In an organization of this size, it should be common practice that any such statement be passed through legal counsel and signed off on by a medical doctor, but why does such a person not represent them here?

Why do these doctors go by different names on the BRG website than appear on their state issued Alabama medical licenses or in medical records?

00:07hours video on everything that happened to me, along with the Indeed.com employee reviews.
00:14Complaints you can view publicly submitted to the Better Business Bureau are a good source
00:20of people's experience dealing with local doctors, hospitals, and medical practices.
00:27I'll mention a review submitted to the BBB.
00:31This involves Birmingham Radiological Group.
00:34They claim to be composed of close to 50 radiological doctors.
00:39They're centered in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
00:43I had dealings with this group in recent years as a patient.
00:48Several of their doctors missed a broken skull injury and x-ray, MRI, and CT that I had done
00:57around the Birmingham area.
00:59I'll give more details on what happened to me following this complaint.
01:04This was submitted to the Better Business Bureau on January 24, 2023, a billing and collection
01:13issue.
01:14This complaint writes, I have received two bills for a scan supposedly done in December
01:22of 2022.
01:24Problem with this is it was a scan of my husband who died several years ago.
01:31I have been told both times that it must be a mistake and they would take care of it.
01:39So far, they have it.
01:41I think it is a huge scam trying to get people just to pay the bill.
01:46Birmingham Radiological Group's response to this complaint, they typed here and I quote,
01:52owner about 12-8-2022, we received a report that contained an old account number that previously
01:59belonged to another patient.
02:02A charge of creating an invoice that was mailed to the wrong patient.
02:07My own experiences with Birmingham Radiological Group is that they are irresponsible and not
02:15professional.
02:15They don't admit to errors.
02:18I told CEO Doyle Stewart in that telephone call that I thought his company stinks and I stand
02:26by my words.
02:27And since then, I've learned that many other people have had negative dealings with BRG and
02:36their doctors.
02:37This company is affiliated with Brookwood Hospital in the Birmingham, Alabama area, as well as
02:46Ascension and St. Vincent's.
02:47And there are a lot of people who are looking at these medical practices, companies and doctors
02:56now.
02:57All right, Birmingham Radiological Group.
03:00Yes, I had dealings with this group.
03:03Three of their doctors misread four separate scans that I had done.
03:10A CT with contrast.
03:13This was misread by Donald Shane Kelly.
03:17I had an x-ray and two CT scans without contrast.
03:26These were looked at and misread by Dr. Julian Patrick Druhan, MD.
03:33These were taken at the Ascension of St. Vincent's East Hospital.
03:39Also, for American Health Imaging, I had an MRI scan done, examined, and misread by Dr.
03:50Angus Baird, MD.
03:52All three of these doctors are members of Birmingham Radiological Group.
03:56Yes, I called Birmingham Radiological Group and spoke to their CEO, Doyle Stewart.
04:04The phone call was recorded.
04:06You can go listen to that call.
04:09I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against Birmingham Radiological Group.
04:17And you can see how they responded.
04:20Doyle Stewart was not willing to help me by having his doctor's account
04:26for their errors.
04:28So this is something that everybody should be aware of.
04:31Doctors for this group, you might want to think twice about being a member of this place.
04:37Because now, we'll put the pictures up here again.
04:41And what's going to happen for the rest of my life is
04:44we're going to debate this thing out in public.
04:49The pictures speak for themselves.
04:51Any doctor worth their salt will easily be able to see the injuries in my pictures.
04:57I had broken the underside of my skull and I had almost died.
05:01So we're talking about major negligence.
05:05Authorities and folks that should be holding these doctors to account,
05:14shirking their duties.
05:16You can see in the Better Business Bureau complaint issued by Birmingham Radiological Group.
05:24They advanced a representative who had no medical credentials.
05:31Shannon Sykes.
05:32And their response is mostly a feeble attempt at mocking a patient who almost died.
05:44Injuries neglected by doctors on their payroll.
05:48This is unacceptable.
05:49Acceptable.
05:49Acceptable.
05:49Acceptable.
