00:00All right, as always, you can go to YouTube channel My Medical Nightmare and see 40 plus
00:07hours video on everything that happened to me.
00:10All right, update on the business practices of Alabama-based Birmingham Radiological Group.
00:16They claim to have 45 radiologists on the payroll and are composed of doctors that examine
00:22MRI, x-rays, and CT imagery.
00:26Many doctors and medical practices in the Birmingham area rely on their services, and
00:32you may be surprised if you went to see a doctor and had an MRI, CT, or x-ray in the
00:38Birmingham area.
00:39A BRG, Birmingham Radiological Group doctor, may have examined your images, and you may
00:45not be aware of it until later.
00:47I was a customer and patient of Birmingham Radiological Group in 2018 and 2019.
00:53I had three of their doctors look at MRI, CT, and x-ray of a major injury that I had in
01:01my head.
01:01I almost died from this.
01:03These doctors wrote in their reports that I had no injury present.
01:07I knew otherwise.
01:08Went and got the pictures.
01:10I'll put the pictures up here yet again.
01:13And what is clearly visible at this time, when I was being told these falsehoods, was that
01:19around six inches in diameter of infection appears inside my head.
01:25I'd actually broken my skull in the basilar area in the region of the occipital condyle
01:30and condular canal.
01:31My issues are unresolved outstanding as it relates to Birmingham Radiological Group doctors,
01:38Angus Baird, MD, Julian Patrick Druhan, MD, and Donald Shane Kelly, MD.
01:44In my own case, they were doing work for American Health Imaging and St. Vincent's Hospital, then
01:52owned by Ascension.
01:53Recently, this has been rebranded and acquired by UAB, University of Alabama at Birmingham.
02:00Later in the video, I'll go into detail more about what happened to me.
02:04Bad doctors resort to all sorts of surreptitious tactics to conceal their identity once they are
02:12exposed or run afoul of local laws or become black sheep in the community, etc.
02:18And you can see examples of all these in my videos.
02:22Then you have the spinoff venture.
02:23This brings us to today's video topic.
02:27And unbeknownst to many in the Birmingham, Alabama area, back in September 2025, Birmingham
02:36Radiological Group launched their spinoff titled Visa Vascular.
02:41And this Twitter post dated September 12th announces the opening of the Vascular and Interventional
02:50Specialists of America in Birmingham.
02:53You go to their about page and it reads, Visa is the Alabama interventional radiology arm of
03:00Birmingham Radiological Group.
03:02It reads, Visa physicians specialize in treating diseases and other health conditions less invasively
03:08without open surgery, general anesthesia, hospital stay, or lengthy recovery.
03:13Our physicians utilize medical imaging to expertly guide procedures using tiny catheters and miniature
03:21instruments from within the body's vascular system.
03:25And interesting, the location of this new outfit is given as 3570 Grandview Parkway Suite 100,
03:33Birmingham, Alabama, 35243.
03:36It's off Highway 280, across the road and down a ways from the Grandview Medical Center Hospital.
03:44Another MRI, Medical Diagnostic Imaging Center, American Health Imaging, AHI,
03:51which I had a negative experience with, who works and partners with the Birmingham Radiological Group doctors,
03:58also operates in this building.
04:02And interestingly enough, a few years ago, I made a phone call to Birmingham Radiological Group CEO,
04:10Doyle Stewart.
04:11I'll include the call at the end of this video.
04:15And here he tells me that he could not help me with my problems involving their doctor,
04:22Angus Baird, M.D., who misread a $500 cash MRI had done in the American Health Imaging Facility in downtown Birmingham near UAB in 2019.
04:35Although Stewart said they don't work with those doctors anymore, a webpage still exists as of October 2025
04:45on the Birmingham Radiological Group website, which lists several doctors who are mentioned as doing work for American Health Imaging in Birmingham, Alabama.
04:58And in December 2024, American Health Imaging and CEO Scott W. Arendt entered into an agreement with the U.S. federal government and the state of Georgia
05:12to pay a settlement of over $5 million to resolve allegations that they violated the False Claims Act
05:19by providing physicians with meals, tickets to sporting events, and other gifts to induce those physicians to refer diagnostic scans
05:29to AHI's independent diagnostic testing facilities.
05:34So these were kickbacks.
05:36I was a patient at Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital in 2019,
05:41and I found myself a victim of a string of unexplainable misdiagnoses as well as patient dumping.
05:52When I took these issues to the doctors, I found that the radiological organizations for which the radiology specialists work
06:05are a major corruption choke point in what I've just explained.
06:12Ascension and the radiological groups would not place me in contact with the doctors directly,
06:18which they should have, to clear up these issues.
06:22In my case, I broke the underside of my skull.
06:25I had four scans done, x-ray, CT, and MRI.
06:30The scans were looked at by three state of Alabama licensed medical doctors for Birmingham Radiological Group.
06:40The pictures were taken.
06:41The doctors looked at the images, issued their reports.
06:45They wrote down with their signature affixed.
06:49The note injuries appeared.
06:51The diagnosis did not sit right with me, because every time I would move my head just a little bit,
06:59there would be incredible pain and crunching bone.
07:04I went and got my medical records and those pictures.
07:07I'll put them in this video again.
07:10What you can see in these images is I had broken the underside of my skull,
07:14misdiagnosed from the outset, close to a year later, infection set up around the main wound that was unacknowledged.
07:24Almost died from this injury.
07:25There are other patients out there, like myself, who are in the process of fighting Ascension.
07:33And I just want to take this opportunity to post again my complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
07:41So this exchange is documented through a third party.
07:46It's not hearsay.
07:47Birmingham Radiological Group, look what they wrote in response to my concerns.
07:54The woman they had issued this response, Shannon Sykes, also possesses no medical credentials or qualifications in the state of Alabama.
08:05And she did not name a so-licensed individual to back up her statement.
08:13And this is very concerning and telling.
08:16Again, they've got 50 doctors on the payroll.
08:19Somebody has a question about an erroneous report that shows a very serious head trauma-based injuries that somebody could easily die from.
08:28And read carefully their response.
08:31And this response alone, this should cost Birmingham Radiological Group their operating license.
08:40And the individual doctors involved should also be punished.
08:44That's my belief.
08:46Thank you for calling Birmingham Radiological Group.
08:50Birmingham Radiological Group, may I direct your call?
08:53Yes, sir.
08:55I'm trying to have an MRI sequence reread.
08:59I had an injury show up in an MRI that one of your doctors looked at.
09:04I need to have this looked at again, please.
09:08Okay, what facility or hospital did you have your MRI done?
09:12Okay, this would be American Health Imaging.
09:16And the doctor's name was Angus Baird, MD.
09:19Okay, well, let me connect you with our office manager.
09:26May I help you?
09:27Yes, ma'am.
09:27Who am I speaking to?
09:30Thank you, Bergen.
09:31Okay, thank you very much.
09:33Yes, ma'am.
09:34I was a patient of one of your doctors.
09:37I'm trying to have an MRI sequence reread.
09:41An injury appeared in this MRI.
09:44And I need to have the doctor take a look at it again, please.
09:47Okay, and what's your account number?
09:51This MRI that I'm calling about today, this was done at American Health Imaging.
09:57Okay, I don't handle American Health Imaging.
10:00I'm sorry, you have the wrong number.
10:02How do I get in touch with Angus Baird, MD?
10:05Because his phone number leads to you guys.
10:09Yeah, he is one of our doctors, but you'll have to contact him through AHI.
10:17Cunningham Radiological Group, may I direct your call?
10:22Yes, sir.
10:23I just called a few minutes ago, trying to get in touch with a doctor who misread an MRI scan.
10:32Okay, and you spoke with our office manager?
10:35I believe so.
10:37Okay.
10:39Okay, and?
10:39Uh, yeah, I need to talk to, uh, uh, the manager, please.
10:46Okay, I'll see if she's available one moment.
10:48I'm sorry, she stands out of her office.
10:51I can, uh, take a message.
10:53For calling you?
10:54Okay, uh, could you put me in touch with somebody else at your group, uh, in authority?
11:00Um.
11:02You gotta think about that for a sec.
11:05Yes, sir.
11:06Yes, sir.
11:07That's an unusual question.
11:08How about a doctor?
11:10Uh, you have many doctors that work?
11:11No, there's no doctors.
11:12There's no doctors on our premises.
11:14We are a billing office only.
11:16Okay, uh, yeah, I need to speak to somebody in authority, because I've got some issues.
11:21Okay, well, just a moment.
11:25Hello?
11:25Yes, sir.
11:27Yeah.
11:28How can I help you?
11:29Well, first of all, who am I talking to?
11:31My name is Doyle Stewart.
11:33Okay, what's your position, and who do you work for?
11:36I'm the CEO, and I work for Birmingham Radiological Group.
11:44Okay.
11:45Yes, sir.
11:45I have some questions that I need to ask to you.
11:48Okay.
11:49All right, uh, I had an MRI scan done in 2019.
11:55I got a doctor's signature here, uh, Angus Baird, MD.
11:59Okay.
12:00And I got, uh, I got some MRI pictures, uh, that show, uh, very serious head trauma.
12:06I have a broken skull.
12:07And, uh, I got a radiologist report here that says I have no injuries in these images.
12:15And so we got a big, uh, problem here, because I have an injury that I almost died from.
12:20And, um, I need to have this situation, uh, corrected.
12:24I need to have the MRI scan, uh, re-read, please, and my injury acknowledged.
12:29Where was the, where was the scan done at?
12:33Okay, this scan was done at American Health Imaging.
12:37This is like downtown Birmingham.
12:38I've got all my records in our reports if you'd like to see them, sir.
12:42No, I don't need to.
12:44Um, AHI, we no longer do any work for AHI.
12:49Uh, is that, is that your excuse?
12:51Uh, cause that, the, the scan...
12:53No, that, that's my answer.
12:54We're not, we don't provide the services to AHI anymore.
12:58So we will, we do not have any of the scans.
13:02The scans are at AHI.
13:05They, they could do what you're requesting.
13:09Okay, I have a copy...
13:10But you need, you'll have to contact AHI.
13:13I have a copy of my records, uh, and the doctor works for you.
13:17You can put me in touch with the doctor and we can clear this up in a few minutes.
13:21Well, no, I can't because the, the, the scans belong to AHI.
13:27See, see what I'm saying?
13:29We just read for AHI.
13:31So there's nothing he can do.
13:33Yeah, I caught...
13:34If you want the scan re-read, then AHI's going to have to have the scan re-read.
13:39Okay, I just called AHI and they told me, um, that they couldn't do anything to help me.
13:44Uh, that they don't deal with those doctors anymore.
13:46I wonder why.
13:48That's, that...
13:49That's you guys.
13:51That's correct.
13:52We don't do their, their work anymore.
13:54Well, we had a contract different, so we just don't do it anymore.
13:59All right, I need to get this issue cleared up.
14:02And I'll be happy to come and clear this up in person, uh, if I can't talk to somebody
14:06to find out about this.
14:08No, I mean, there's no need in that because the only way to clear it up, if you want a second,
14:12another read on those scans...
14:15Yeah, your doctor, he misread my scans, sir.
14:18Well, I mean, I don't know that or not, but...
14:22I had some, uh, scans done, uh, through Ascension St. Vincent's.
14:26Do you still work with them?
14:29Ascension St. Vincent's, which one?
14:31Yeah, but I had a 42219 CT scan done at St. Vincent's East, uh, by this doctor was, uh,
14:39Julian Patrick Druhan, MD.
14:42And in this CT, uh, sequence here, uh, I have broken, uh, bone that shows up in the
14:47basilar area of my skull.
14:49I was given a report by the doctor didn't acknowledge these injuries.
14:52Can I have those scans reread?
14:57Well, that, that is different, um...
15:00You got to come up with another excuse, don't you?
15:03No, I do not.
15:05Now, and if you're going to continue to act this way, I'm going to, we're going to discontinue
15:08this conversation.
15:10That's your decision, sir.
15:11That's your decision, sir.
