00:38Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Switzerland, the MXGP of Switzerland, presented by IXS with me, Paul Malin, and the rest
00:44of the team. It's round three of the FIM Motocross World Championship, and we've got a tricky, challenging racetrack ahead
00:49of this first MXGP race this afternoon.
00:52Overnight rain, persistent rain during the day, and we've just had MX2, so obviously we've got deep ruts, challenging conditions.
01:00There's no rain for now, but it's all going to be a very, very interesting test as we head into
01:05the first Premier Class race of the day.
01:10And there is the view from above. The rain still trying to come in, as you can see.
01:21Hopefully it doesn't rain too much, but I think we're just in it to bin it today, aren't we?
01:29Umbrellas, coax, it's about five degrees. It really is a miserable day, and we are right at the end of
01:35March, April in a couple of days. We're supposed to be, the clocks went forward this morning, British summertime, BST.
01:42There's no summer in this scenario whatsoever.
01:46Maybe we're just unlucky. 2025 coming back to a haunt as weather-wise. There's the view from the racetrack. That's
01:53the track map. Short start straight into that tight right through the chicane over the finish line jump.
01:581530 metres, just under a mile of hard packed terrain. Sticky, claggy, horrible terrain here at the top of the
02:05hill overlooking Fraunfeld.

05:14So that was in Andalusia last week.
05:20Right at the start of the day, just before the first MX2 race took out to the track for their
05:25sighting laps.
05:26We had our opening presentation.
05:28We had speeches from Infront Motor Racing CEO and President David Longo.
05:33A very warm welcome to the MX2P of Sitzelon.
05:37Antonio Leo Portela, the FM CMS Director.
05:40This track is going to provide to everybody.
05:43Council of States, Coby Stark, also said a few words.
05:48And the man on the right there, Willy Laderach, the chair of the organizing committee, addressing everybody in native tone.
06:05And with that, the game is officially declared open.
06:13Riders out on the sighting lap then.
06:16Their first look at what lays ahead in terms of the conditions out on track.
06:24Probably wetter behind there and out on the track at the moment, but as you can see, rain was just
06:28starting to fall a few months ago.
06:30As they disappeared out on track and into the smokescreen.

06:42Shame about the weather, because the atmosphere here normally generally pretty good.
06:46Anyway, Lisa caught up with a couple of riders lining up in a few moments' time.
06:50Kai DeWolf, Nastana Svane, who crossed the line in 6th.
06:54And before that, Maxime Renault, Monserenice Yamaha, who was 5th.
06:57And he's the record holder in terms of the Grand Prix.
07:02So we're almost ready for the first MXGP race of the day.
07:05Let's grab a few words with Monster Energy Yamaha factory MXGP rider Maxime Renault, who was looking good yesterday, but
07:12then things didn't go to plan.
07:13I think you were outside of P15 at one point in the qualifying race.
07:16You worked your way up to P5.
07:19How was it from your seat? How tough was it out there?
07:22Yeah, like you said, bad start.
07:23And then also myself made a couple of mistakes in the first corner, trying to gain places.
07:28But in the end I lost more than I gained, so it was not the best.
07:32But then I found a good rhythm, good pace, made some good passes.
07:35And towards the end of the moto I was riding strong, so it was good.
07:39Now it's a new day, very challenging, tricky track.
07:42So we're going to have to get a good start, execute and hopefully stay out of the mud.
07:47Because you were working your way up from the back yesterday, is it fair to say like today maybe you
07:50know the line choices,
07:52you know perhaps where to pass or is it just a different race track today?
07:55Oh yeah, it's completely the same, you know, like the lines are exactly the same.
07:59So I might find all the answers from yesterday's race.

08:09I guess today it's really the start is going to be super important.

08:34Yeah, it's definitely not been easy, but yeah, like you said, you're lucky to catch me here in time this

08:39So now I'm just going to have a good day. It's raining.
08:43It's a big gamble today, but I'm just going to try and have a good jump, have a good start
