00:24today i saw some stuff on social media this week he's tired of everybody discounting his late
00:30season pushes and runs he feels he's better than he's ever been and he is so fast and his sprint
00:37speed is incredible early on and he knows he's not going to waste any time trying to get by prado
00:44that was prado's fifth hole shot of the season and he hasn't done every race
00:52oh kenny right there prado been very very incredible this season think about how last
00:59season went on that kawasaki switches back to his old team that he spent so many years with
01:05he has done a great job and he's loving it and he still says look i'm learning i'm learning a

01:11about supercross as hunter lawrence has some work to do bottom box see him on the inside of tomac

03:03today and basically asked him that question like where is all this coming from how is this kind of
03:08possible what makes this possible he said to me honestly it's tough to answer but he's like it's just
03:14all the pieces of life on and off the track he talked about his family life and how happy he

03:20but he also talked a lot about the experience everything that he's been through and how he can
03:25put that into not only his day-to-day training but also on the track there he said the calmness
03:30his understanding of the bike he's been on it three years they barely touches and all these pieces
03:35come together basically to just make trust because it's a low stress situation and that is what we're
03:42seeing out of ken roxson at this point in his career it's just um it's the puzzle and everything
03:47just coming together working so well for the 90s i mean you think about all the starts and the years
03:52that he's had too right i mean that definitely helps the situation not only not you take the
03:59consideration of how long he's been on this agp team i mean you all these things coming together
04:05at once and yeah i'm sure he gets tired of hearing all you know a lot of people talking about
04:10he can't
04:10you know he can't finish the season well now is the point where he is he's got to do what
04:16he's
04:16doing right now late in the season he's got to get those good starts and put in those wins
04:21and silence the critics and he's doing a fine job at it right now winning glendale earlier this year
04:27look at that gap there it's three seconds to chase sexton yeah i go here to as far as the
04:34championship
04:35goes and the battle between hunter lawrence and tomac and hunter is absolutely making it happen
04:41seventh the first lap he was the fastest guy on the track last lap with a 52.3 okay and

04:48eli he's a 53.2 his second slower and he's five seconds behind hunter he has got to close in
04:58big gap big gap between the top two in the championship how about the man making his

05:39been obviously with that injury that's kept him out for four weeks but also just getting that bike
05:43set up it's been a lot of talk about that and speaking to the monster energy kawasaki team today
05:48they said yep testing has 100 continued through all of this but what they were most excited about guys
05:53is getting chased back out on track they said we learned the most in race situations and they all
05:58were extremely happy to see him back out here today yeah and honestly he looks great right here he
06:03doesn't look like he's overriding the motorcycle the motorcycle looks good and uh not taking any
06:09chances and he just looks like he's out in a moto during the week just hitting his marks and he
06:15looks
06:15great a couple of days ago you and i had a really good conversation with hunter lawrence
06:23he told you this is the best that he has ridden in his career period even during his 250 title
06:32and i asked him i'm like is there any race that you have on the calendar where you're like oh
06:36this is
06:37going to be super challenging and if i can just get past this race and he told us it was
06:42last week
06:42he wanted to come back from the break set the tone and get some momentum going and that's exactly
06:50what he's done right here and even though he's not in the lead right now he's putting in some great
06:55laps
06:55and look at i mean you got sexton right in front of him and kenny's right there right there and
07:02we're
07:03not even halfway we asked hunter where do you get this tenacity from and this determination where you
07:10are so strong the longer the race goes on and he said i i honestly don't know i just i've
07:16always
07:16had it it's in me i don't think it's something i've learned that's just that's just who i am
07:22meanwhile bottom box eli tomac nine and a half seconds off the lead in fifth place jt
07:29yeah lee and this is more just posing a question than it is really insight on eli you look at

07:36week he loses by 30 plus seconds and you can kind of just chalk it up to hey you lost

07:41the lead you brought it home with the same third but now we're in our second week of kind of
07:47mediocrity from the two-time champ this is the second winningest rider this is the guy that a lot
07:52of people were like he's on his best form of his career now we're in back-to-back weeks where

07:57something looks a little off we talked about in the heat we're seeing it get in the main and i
08:03don't
08:03really know what to attribute it to but i can tell you the points that he's losing right now are
08:08going
08:08to be a big deal when we roll into salt lake city well i think jt like when i'm watching
08:13him i just i just
08:14watch the corners in general and i just feel like he's not flowing through the corners and it doesn't
08:21look like it's one motion i mean the balance looks decent i don't think that the balance of the
08:27motorcycle from front end to rear end is much different than what we've seen all season long
08:31but it just looks like he's taking one corner and making it two corners and it's just again it's not
08:37flowing and i don't know what that is but this is certainly a lot different than what we've seen
08:42all season long well look you're talking about a guy who's had eight podiums this year four of those
08:47eight podiums have been wins yeah and this i just i'm looking at the top of the screen right here
08:55and what an opportunity this could be for the 96 from a championship points perspective it can
09:02keep on the pressure right here oh the lawrence is down the whoops gets another one
09:10they have been savage tonight and that was a hard fall for honda lawrence oh he stalls the bike
09:19oh this is massive something's wrong something wrong with the front front brake
09:26oh you can see the front brakes down let's see if it's is it locking up that is going to

09:32that is his front brake is locking up watch the front wheel see it stopping oh i wonder if the
09:38rotor's bent this is a guy who has not finished any worse than fourth this year the championship
09:47leader he's gonna have to pull off and this bike is not working for him his front yeah you can

09:59gonna have to pull in to get a wheel change here the problem is that's a really difficult thing to
10:04change you see them loosening things up hopefully that's all it is but the way that wheel was
10:09locking up would lean into something more like a vent runner let's hope though that this was the fix
10:15oh this is gonna be scary yeah i see pops a wheelie right there to see if the front wheel
10:19was still spinning it looks like it is he's probably gonna take it easy here to get a feel of

11:32i mean i feel like kenny's the biggest gainer of them all so we've often spoken about not not how

11:41wins not how many podiums but your best worst result tomac's worst is 12 now unfortunately
11:49for hunter lawrence he finds himself a lap down in 19th place as roxon keeps rocking he's now four
11:57seconds out in front of chase sexton let's talk more kenny with will yeah i told you i was talking
12:03to kenny earlier today and something he mentioned to me he said i know i am still in this he's
12:09like that
12:09self-belief is just a trust in the bike but i do know as well i've been around i know
12:14that anything
12:15can happen in this sport something happens and suddenly you're within 20 and you're right back
12:21in it and that is just what we have seen unfold here this sport wow it's incredible the consistency
12:28and the comfort with this bike and this team he's told us many times he hardly makes any changes to

12:43all right he's uh looking picture perfect right now he's got a little gap and kenny is really good
12:50at getting a four and a half five second lead and just maintaining only rides as hard as he needs

12:58great job another beneficiary has been malcolm stewart who was elevated to third when hunter lawrence
13:04dropped his bike at the end of the whoops and eli tomac jt finds himself in four yeah this is
13:10a huge
13:11moment for both eli tomac and ken roxson and it reminds me a lot of that 2023 championship going
13:18into nashville where cooper webb has that big crash he drops out loses a ton of points and chase
13:24sexton went into that round in third place in the championship and we know who won that championship
13:29no one was thinking about chase sexton going into nashville and things started to unravel from
13:35there so yes will's point is well made it's not over until it's over that's a violent violent one
13:42there man for for hunter eli's gonna have to pick it up a little because justin cooper isn't far off
13:53and we still got six minutes plus one lap so i mean you talk about you know getting a little
14:01gift
14:01here kind of got to take advantage of that
14:07oh man i'll tell you what this sport is just it throws you a curveball when you least expect it
14:15it's justin cooper sits in fifth he might be able to catch eli he's only 2.2 seconds back
14:21want to give a shout out to some other riders further back dylan ferrandis in his comeback ride
14:26after that thumb injury uh sits in seventh joey cevacci on his return ride in eighth
14:33justin hill has been good all day long and justin finds himself in ninth and garrett marchbanks
14:40after a really violent crash in his heat race wins the lcq and is in the top 10 that's a
14:47terrific
14:48comeback incredible incredible job
14:52meanwhile what's the latest with hunter lawrence the man who took over the red plate and the
14:58championship points lead in glendale that was at round five we're in round 11 now
15:03and he's gonna kiss that red plate goodbye for the time being but thankful that he is not injured
15:10yeah i mean he's got to be banged up you would think and you just got to wonder
15:15okay moving forward just get through here finish the race but then are you banged up what is how
15:22does that change your week and preparation and how are you going to feel for next week it's not just
15:27about tonight what are the lingering effects he could possibly have because i mean he hit the deck hard
15:36and we were down there today that section after the whoops is packed down hard yeah you could hear
15:43that's where he landed you could feel the impact each time the wheel would hit the whoops and that
15:48thing was just violent meanwhile the battle the battle for fourth has ratcheted up a little bit
15:56because here comes justin cooper on eli tomac four minutes to go plus a lap told you now that these
16:05whoops have become jumpers justin cooper playing right into his hand i like how he goes to the
16:10outside right here goes on off oh comes up a little short but still able to triple into the corner

16:17was a really nice save so watch we stick with him watch to see the difference in whoop speed
16:25and the lines that they're taking eli has been going to the left oh i thought coop was going to

16:30the inside he is and tomac did not fight that no he knew that that was coming tries to fight

16:37through the whoops kind of just gives way right there fights justin a little bit but
16:45yeah i'm giving i'm giving eli the benefit of the doubt here this definitely doesn't look like the guy
16:50we've seen all year so something might be going on jt that we don't know about yeah i was saying
16:56thinking the same thing there's something up here for him in this championship position with the points
17:01he has just been handed to put up no fight there screams that there's something else going on
17:07yeah an example i kind of just expand on what jt's talking about you know when you're in that
17:12position and you see your main challenger for the championship go down you want to have an extra
17:18fight to get by the guys in front of you because you're just going to pad that points lead so

17:24see him i mean obviously he's trying the hardest that he is but yeah it's just different meanwhile up
17:32things are getting better and better and better for ken roxson 6.6 seconds now ahead of chase sexton

17:52the great thing about riding this motorcycle this long
17:56lee is he knows the ins and outs of it knows what it does well

18:36what has been a near on perfect season unfortunately for honda lawrence has all come undone here tonight
18:42it's just been one of those nights
18:45well you talk about it your championships are won on your bad days lee you've been saying
18:50his worst finish was fourth and you just wondered if a day like that would come
18:56obviously you hope not for anyone but um it's the big question about racing is like
19:04not if it's when
19:06it's going to be a night to celebrate for this man here aboard the rockstar energy factory husbana
19:11malcolm stewart remember the way the year started in very inauspicious fashion
19:16where he broke his scapula he was involved in that big crash with justin marsha
19:21it was brutal and he showed a lot of guts and strength and bravery to ride through that injury
19:29it's been a long while salt lake city last year since malcolm stood on a 450 supercross podium
19:37so this will be some relief some sweet but but he's been getting better each and every week and that
19:44injury has been healing had an opportunity to talk to big james
19:48that track walk earlier today and he said malcolm's feeling pretty good and and he's getting better
19:54came off his season best last weekend in birmingham top five now he's got what two steps even better
20:02now the ailing eli tomac is about to lose another position
20:10to his old rival
20:12and old teammate cooper webb this is now the fight for fifth webb coming back after that brutal crash earlier

20:20oh my god i go back to eli's early years in the premier class
20:28and sometimes it just looked like he was off and you're wondering why and
20:34that's just i'm so perplexed right now
