Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb e Richard Irving illustrano le caratteristiche dell'aggiornamento di ottobre di Xbox One.
Trascrizione
00:00Hi, it's Larry Herb, Xbox Live's Major Nelson here with Richard Irving from the Xbox Engineering Team.
00:05Richard, good to see you again.
00:06Always great to be here.
00:07Listen, October's another great month for Xbox One owners.
00:10What new features have you guys been working on, and what are we going to see?
00:13So the October release is a big release for Snap Mode.
00:18If you remember in June, we added Double Tap to Snap and the Snap Achievements app
00:22that allows you to track your progress against achievements in real time.
00:26You can kind of go back and forth and see, still have your game, the complete game up,
00:30but also look at your achievements over there on the right-hand side.
00:32And we received a bunch of positive feedback about that,
00:35as well as some additional feedback on other experiences that our fans wanted out of Snap Mode.
00:40So let's talk about those.
00:42Well, so first is better UI control over Snap Mode.
00:46So prior to the October release, you have to go back out to home in order to close the Snap
00:52app,
00:52Snap a new app, or just get out of Snap Mode altogether.
00:55Right.
00:55Now we're adding a piece of UI, when you double tap to Snap,
01:00that will give you control over quick focus, quickly toggling focus between the Snap app and your game,
01:06or to close the Snap app altogether, or Snap a new app entirely.
01:11Our fans also asked for some of their favorite Xbox 360 apps from the Xbox 360 guide
01:18to make an appearance in Snap.
01:19And so this month, we're adding two new Snap apps, one for the friends list and one for messages.
01:26So I think we've improved on what was a great experience with the Xbox 360 guide by giving you the
01:31ability to run the two side-by-side.
01:33And you can get in and out pretty quickly.
01:34So Richard, what about messages?
01:36I can use that in Snap mode as well, right?
01:38That's right.
01:38So we've added a Snap messaging app so you can quickly respond to messages that you receive well in-game,
01:44or watching a movie, or doing anything on the system.
01:47But we've also added conversation view or threaded view to the messages app so that you can see a running
01:53conversation between you and your friend,
01:56and keep that context as you're conversing with them.
01:59So now when one of my friends responds, OK, I can kind of roll back and say, what were we
02:02talking about again?
02:03That's right.
02:03That's right.
02:04So one other cool feature of Snap Center is we've added the ability to simply double tap and then hit
02:12the X button on your controller
02:14and save off the last 30 seconds of gameplay.
02:16A lot like Xbox record that if you have a Kinect sensor.
02:20If you don't have a Kinect sensor, just double tap, press the X button on your controller,
02:24and you've got the last 30 seconds of gameplay.
02:27Richard, there's also a cool feature with achievements.
02:30Let's talk about that.
02:31So we've added the ability to see which of your friends have earned a specific achievement.
02:36So imagine you're having trouble earning an achievement.
02:39You know which of your friends to ask for help.
02:42You want to know who to brag to, who you've joined, who else is in this club that's earned the
02:47same achievement as you.
02:48You know who you can brag to.
02:49So you can take a quick look and see who has it and who hasn't.
02:51That's right.
02:53What other new features can we expect in October?
02:55With the September update, we launched the Media Player app that allowed you to play media from USB.
03:01And this month it gets an update allowing you to play media over your network.
03:06Ah, so for those folks that have a DLNA server in their house, this is for you.
03:10That's absolutely right.
03:11And even more good news, we're also adding MKV support this month.
03:19Richard, the friends section is something I hear about all the time.
03:22And we've made some improvements that are going to be rolling out to everyone soon, right?
03:25Yeah, so it's a new area on home that gives you, at a glance, what your friends are up to,
03:31the top games that they're playing, and a really cool GamerScore leaderboard that shows you how much your friends have
03:38earned in GamerScore over the last 30 days and how you compare against them.
03:43It's been in preview for the last couple of months to select members of the preview audience.
03:48We've gotten a bunch of great feedback on how to improve the experience.
03:51And we're making our last minute tweaks and adjustments to it.
03:55So it's rolling out to all preview members with the October update.
03:57And then when the October update goes live, every Xbox One owner will have the new friends section on their
04:05console.
04:05Richard, lots of stuff this month.
04:07Anything else we missed?
04:08Well, September has been a really big month for launching Xbox One and a bunch of new markets.
04:13And with the October update, 12 new markets are getting the One Guide and a bunch of cool new live
04:20TV features.
04:21Richard, thanks so much.
04:22Of course, that's not everything in the October update.

04:30Richard, thanks so much.
04:31We'll talk to you next time.
04:32Thanks for having me.
04:32We'll see you next time.
