00:34Now this is a highly requested feature and we're really excited to bring this to you, right?
00:38Since we announced backward compatibility last year, this has been one of the most popular feature requests.
00:45And so we're really excited that as we release new games into the backward compatible catalog,
00:50if you already own them, of course you'll be able to play them.
00:53But if you don't and you want to play them, you'll now be able to buy them straight from your
00:57Xbox One,
00:57as well as get access to the Xbox 360 games with gold.
01:02A lot of great stuff there. Now listen, streaming is a huge part of the Xbox One experience with the
01:07Twitch app.
01:07We have a brand new feature coming to the Twitch app. This is great!
01:10That's right. One of the most popular requests for broadcasting on Xbox One
01:15is the ability to include your party chat with the broadcast.
01:19So what a lot of our broadcasters tell us is that, you know, the experience is great,
01:25but it's incomplete without being able to include everyone who's in party in the broadcast.
01:31When you get an update to your Twitch app, you'll be able to include the party chat
01:34and everyone who's participating in the party will both see that their chat is being broadcast
01:40and have the ability to opt in or out if they don't want to be included in that broadcast.
01:45So your Twitch stream is about to get a little bit more lively.
01:48That's right.
01:49All right. Speaking of party chat, we have some new audio features coming to the Xbox One, right?
01:54Yes. So another highly requested feature for party chat is the ability to output the party chat
02:01over your speakers while also listening to the party on your headphones.
02:05There's a couple of scenarios for this.
02:08One is if you're using a higher-end broadcasting rig or a higher-end capture rig,
02:12you can now take the audio, the party chat audio, straight from the speakers into whatever recording mechanism that you're
02:20using.
02:20Yep.
02:21Or if you want to play with your headset on but you want people who are sitting in the living
02:25room playing with you
02:26to also hear what's going on, they'll be able to do that without a headset as well.
02:30That's really great.
02:31Now listen, a cornerstone of the Xbox ecosystem are achievements.
02:36I'm really excited about this next feature, achievements in the guide.
02:40So first, you'll see that it loads achievements for any of the games that you're playing right now nearly instantly.
02:48The second is as you track your progress against a particular achievement in a game,
02:55you'll notice that as you show and dismiss the guide, we've added a little color indicator
03:01to show you how much progress you've made since the last time you looked
03:05to make it really, really easy for you to track how you're progressing against earning that achievement in the game
03:10you're playing.
03:11That's really helpful because as I'm playing the game, I'm going to open and close and kind of see what's
03:14going on there.
03:15That's right.
03:15Make sure I'm headed in the right direction.
03:16That's right.
03:17Richard, you're making some changes to the game DVR feature on Xbox One.
03:20Tell us about that.
03:21You've been able to do Xbox Record That since we launched Xbox One,
03:25either by saying Xbox Record That or by pressing X when you have the guide open
03:30and it will record the last 30 seconds of gameplay.
03:33We've got a lot of requests that people want to be able to configure the length of that clip
03:38to change it from the default.
03:41So now you'll be able to go in and configure whether you want it to be
03:4530 seconds, 45 seconds, a minute, three minutes, or even up to five minutes.
03:50So every time you do a record that, it will record exactly that length that you've set.
03:57Another great feature that's coming in the next update is 16-person party chat.
04:01Richard, what's going on there?
04:02We've upped the maximum limit of your party to be 16 players from the 12 that it is right now.
04:09With backwards compatibility, a lot of folks are playing Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One,
04:13and I know they're unlocking achievements, Richard, so I want to see them.
04:18So in the next update, we're actually adding Xbox 360 achievements to your activity feed.
04:24So your activity feed will now show all of the progress that your friends are making
04:28on their Xbox One games as well as their Xbox 360 games.
04:32And those are going to appear not only on the console but also in the Xbox app.
04:35That's right.
04:36We're also going to see some features coming to the beta of the Xbox app, Richard.
04:39Can you walk us through some of the new features we'll see?
04:41Yeah.
04:42So one of the common fan requests for both console and the Xbox app was the Gamerscore leaderboard.
04:49And so last month, we added that back to the console,
04:51and this month, we are adding it to the beta of the Xbox app.
04:55We're also, with that, bringing the ability to browse stat leaderboards for the games that you play.
05:02So you'll be able to see where you're at for any given stat that we track in a game
05:08and how you compare against your friends in that experience.
05:11Thanks so much.
05:11That's Richard Irving from the Xbox engineering team.
05:14For complete details on all of these features coming to Xbox One and the beta of the Xbox app,

05:22Thanks for watching.
