00:00www.xboxlive.com
00:30Well, first up is a bunch of great new stuff that's going into preview for the Xbox app on Windows
00:3610.
00:37Okay.
00:37And so this month we are making available a game DVR recording.
00:42Now, Richard, we announced this in January, but here it is shipping.
00:45What are some of the features that people are going to see in the app?
00:47As we announced in January, we're adding a feature called the Game Bar.
00:51Yep, I can see it right here.
00:52And you hit Windows G, and that will pop up this piece of UI that gives you the option to
00:57do what we call a historical recording.
00:59Okay.
01:00Console fans will know that as Xbox record that, so record the last 30 seconds of play.
01:04Right.
01:04You'll be able to take a screenshot of what's currently on the screen.
01:08Okay.
01:08Or you'll be able to manually start and stop recording right from that Game Bar.
01:12Now, I noticed here in the app there's a lot more granular settings that we're providing folks.
01:17There's a very diverse set of hardware out there that we have to support on PCs.
01:22And our goal is to give you these great features without impacting the performance of your game.
01:28Game DVR and game screenshots coming in the Xbox app.
01:32That's awesome.
01:32There's also some other cool stuff that you guys tucked in there, right?
01:35That's right.
01:35So this month, we're releasing to preview a standalone avatar app that will be available in the Windows Store.
01:41And in that app, you'll get all the customization features that you've come to expect with your avatar, different noses,
01:47eyes, hairstyles, as well as the full closet of standard items and access to the items that you've purchased on
01:53your Xbox 360.
01:54Now, let's talk about user profiles.
01:56There's some differences here as well.
01:58So we've updated the layout and the UI of the user profile in the Xbox app to include more of
02:03the things that you expect based on your Xbox One experience.
02:06So you'll be able to see now yours and your friend's bio, location, reputation, and tenure.
02:12But even cooler than that is you'll also be able to see the showcase as you've configured it.
02:17And additionally, we've added your animated avatar.
02:20If you've created one, we've added your animated avatar to your user profile display as well.
02:25That's great.
02:26Now, let's talk about real name sharing.
02:28You guys did some really interesting things there.
02:30That's right.
02:31So on Xbox One, over the past year, we've implemented a variety of settings for sharing your real name with
02:37just specific friends that you choose.
02:39Or in March, you'll remember we added the ability to share with everybody on Xbox Live.
02:43Right.
02:44And we've added that level of customization via the Xbox app on Windows 10 as well.
02:48Richard, it looks like we're bringing more smart glass features to the Xbox app as well, right?
02:53We've added the now playing bar that gives you access to the media controls when you're, say, watching a movie
02:58or a TV show on your Xbox One.
03:01You'll be able to control that from the Xbox app.
03:03And perhaps even cooler than that is we're adding the ability to stream live TV to the Xbox app, which
03:09is also available on the smart glass app right now.
03:12A lot of stuff coming to the Xbox app on Windows 10.
03:14Richard, thanks for that wrap up there.
03:16Let's turn our attention to Xbox One.
03:18We have some cool features coming there as well, including this top requested fan feature.
03:22What is it, Richard?
03:23So we're adding the ability to power your console on and off directly from smart glass.
03:28And so what that means is when you want to stream TV, you'll be able to just open up the
03:33smart glass app, power on your console, and start streaming directly to that device.
03:37That is awesome.
03:38Also, another highly requested feature, Miracast coming to Xbox One.
03:43That's right.
03:43So this month we are releasing the wireless display app, which will allow you to stream unprotected content from a
03:50variety of Windows PCs.
03:52Windows Phone, and Android devices.
03:54So that includes any content that you have there, whether it's video or anything else.
03:57You can just kind of project your display right up into your living room.
04:00Yes, as long as it's unprotected content.
04:02That is awesome.
04:03Richard, thank you so much for giving us this wrap up this month.
04:06Thank you for stopping by.
