16:05The layout takes you through Minoan, Mycenaean, Greek and Roman history

17:24After an hour and a half drive south of Hania, Greg has reached the south western coastline
17:29And to reach his next activity, he needs to take a 40 minute ferry ride

17:38We're going for a little hike now, like this is just, what a way to start the day
17:42A little hike Greg, you're only going on one of the most iconic treks in the whole of Greece
17:48Into the Samaria Gorge
17:50I'm looking forward to it, the weather's beautiful, it's perfect for hiking
17:53When I'm out in the mountains like this, I always have to remind myself to look up
17:56The Samaria Gorge was created over time by a small river running between the White Mountains and Mount Volakias
18:04It is 16 kilometres long, but an hour's trek from the coastal entrance
18:08Takes you to the most famous section, known as the gates, where both sides soar up to almost 300 metres
18:16The lack of vegetation gives them that grey colour and they're only about 4 metres wide
18:22Which is amazing, we've been hiking for a while now, and we got to this narrowest point in the entire
18:27Samaria Gorge
18:28And it's beautiful, I'm really enjoying it
18:30I absolutely love the mountains, so much so I got one tattooed on my leg

20:14The former Prime Minister of Greece lived here in this two-story house
20:18Which has been turned into a museum, honouring his extraordinary life

20:28Venizelos served as Prime Minister of Greece for over 12 years
20:33Serving seven terms from 1910 to 1933
20:37This is a golden fountain pen that was used by Venizelos

20:44This one was a treaty of Sevres back in 1920
20:51Venizelos had a leading role securing the autonomy of the Cretan state
20:55However, he had many enemies who attempted to take his life
20:59Shirt and undergarments with blood stains from the assassination attempt in Paris in 1920
