00:00All right, so Alec and I have been all over the draft,
00:03trying to make sure that the Tolos are aware of the players
00:06that we're kind of looking forward to get at 12 or 20.
00:09Now, obviously, there's so much more to this draft
00:12because we are trying to desperately figure out how to get a second-round pick
00:17because there is still some good talent in that range.
00:21But you want to take advantage of 12 and 20.
00:24Jerry's talked about that many times.
00:25We have those two first-round picks.
00:27Now, that being said, you have so many holes on your defense
00:31that you would love to add to it.
00:33I feel like your offense is good.
00:35I feel like there's not a spot on the offense where you actually have to do any work.
00:41Maybe a couple different areas, but I don't think you have to upgrade anything right now.
00:45No.
00:45But for the defense specifically, if you want to build out the defense
00:49that Christian Parker really wants, you're going to have to add some talent on this thing.
00:56And I saw this mock draft this morning.
00:59Now, Bleacher Report is chaos.
01:03All right.
01:04It's one way to put it.
01:05Bleacher Report's NFL scouting department released this.
01:09I didn't know they had a scouting department, but I appreciate it.
01:12They released this new mock draft this morning.
01:15Mendoza won.
01:17No surprise there.
01:19Arvel Reese, number two.
01:21Which, like, we've seen up and down with Arvel Reese all over the place.
01:25Sonny Stiles, three to Arizona Cardinals, which would be the worst thing for him, I think.
01:31I'll just leave it at that.
01:33It just seems like dudes that have his skill set that go to Arizona just never fully pan out.
01:39They never get the best out of them.
01:40At four, Jeremiah Love to Tennessee.
01:43A lot of people have mocked Sonny Stiles to Tennessee, so him going at three would be insane
01:48because Love would then make some sense to go at four there.
01:53Five, Carnell Tate to the Giants.
01:56Six, offensive lineman to the Cleveland Browns.
02:00Seven, Caleb Downs.
02:03Caleb Downs with Dan Quinn.
02:05Good combination there.
02:06Makes sense.
02:07I could totally see something like that.
02:09New Orleans Saints say, let's add Jordan Tyson, Arizona wide receiver who we've watched, we like.
02:15Dude loves to block.
02:16He's a crackback blocker.
02:18Then Kansas City takes Reuben Bain, which him falling to nine still kind of blows my mind
02:24considering what Reuben Bain's, like, body is.
02:28But him being in a top ten is a no-doubter for me.
02:31Then I think we've kind of settled in on we're probably going to get Mansoor Delaney.
02:36Well, guess what?
02:37The Cincinnati Bengals said, we didn't get Caleb Downs, so we're taking the lane.
02:42Then the Dolphins take Makai Lemon.
02:47Guess what name you have not heard yet?
02:50Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey, who they say the Cowboys get at pick number 12.
02:56Now, Alec, this would be a dream come true if David Bailey fell to this spot.
03:03I just don't see it happening.
03:04Not at all.
03:05There is no way.
03:06I mean, there was even one point in time, a little bit after the combine, where odds
03:11makers were having him more favorable to go number two than Arvel Reese.
03:16That's how good of a player this is.
03:19And if you Tolo, as you should, you've heard Bobby pound the table for weeks now with the
03:25rumblings that Cleveland wants out of pick number six.
03:28He's like, if David Bailey is still there at six, you go up and get him because he won't
03:32be there after that.
03:33Right, exactly.
03:34He will not.
03:35And just imagine if Cleveland, you know, obviously Kevin's fantasy of them taking another quarterback
03:39would be amazing.
03:40But imagine if Cleveland took him and said, you know what, Miles Garrett and David Bailey,
03:45why not?
03:46That would be terrifying.
03:47They would still need to find out how to score points.
03:49But I don't see any world where he makes it out of the top 10, maybe even the top five.
03:57He's that good of a player.
03:59So something dramatic has to happen.
04:03I don't know if it's a Laramie Tunsil situation or if it's a medical situation for him to make
04:08it outside of the top 10 because there's no reality where I see it.
04:11I'm not Dr. Strange.
04:12I can't see every reality.
04:14But I don't see any feasible manner for him to slide because he's that talented of a pass rusher.
04:20Yeah, I'm very bewildered, bemused, befuddled.
04:28Flabbergasted?
04:28Yeah.
04:29I have no idea how because we've seen him at two on so many different mock draft boards.
04:36And he makes sense there.
04:37Now, maybe it's because the two-spot Arvel Reese is taken in this.
04:42And that's why Bailey falls.
04:44That's fine.
04:45Whatever it is.
04:45Now, somebody said, why is Bailey falling?
04:47This is just a mock draft.
04:49And I don't see a lot of other mock...
04:51This one's kind of unique.
04:52I don't see a lot of other mock drafts having him fall that far or that much even.
04:58But this one right here, it doesn't really say why he falls there.
05:03They just say this is what the Cowboys are going to do.
05:05Which, yes, this is a no-brainer if he's there.
05:08Now, the Cowboys obviously have Azaraku on the outside.
05:11They also have Rashawn Gary that they just added to the mix.
05:15But you absolutely do something at that.
05:20From the 4-4-3, LMFAO, Bailey at 12.
05:24Just fire that wannabe draft guru right there.
05:27Yeah, I think you're right.
05:29So that's where that goes.
05:30Now, what's interesting is what else you get later.
05:34So we're going to scroll down a little bit.
05:36One of the guys that we've been really high on, Akeem Mesidor, goes at 15 to Tampa Bay.
05:40Like, that's the perfect fit.
05:42Going to a place like Tampa Bay and playing there.
05:44Jermon McCoy, actually, at 16, which is pretty decent there.
05:48We've been kind of keeping an eye on C.J. Allen.
05:54C.J. Allen yesterday, according to some reports, did not do all the work because he had some swelling in
06:04his knee from a meniscus surgery that he had in the season.
06:07Everything seems to be checking out there, but he had some swelling.
06:11And everybody was like, he was fantastic in the drills they put him through, but he didn't do all the
06:15work out that they expected to see there.
06:18I love C.J. Allen.
06:20The brain works that we talk about so much on him.
06:24Everybody still has him going second round.
06:27So, like, I see all these mock drafts that still have him falling into the second round.
06:31If you can figure out how to do something like that, I'm pretty happy with it.
06:35That being said, at 20, the Cowboys do not pick Keldrick Falk.
06:40They do not go with Avion Terrell.
06:43They go with Cincinnati linebacker Jack Golday.
06:49Now, Jack Golday is a special brand of football player.
06:53And, Alec, you've gotten about five minutes of watching this guy that you were like, this is awesome.
06:57I watched him a while back.
06:59This dude right here is versatile, athletic, and gigantic.
07:05He is a unit.
07:07I was joking with you that if we're going to go down the route that we tried with Matt Eberflus,
07:14where we're going to do the old school, big, bulky, white linebacker, it's this guy.
07:19It's not Jack Sanborn.
07:21They got me too excited about Jack Sanborn.
07:23I'll be the first to admit that.
07:24But, in all seriousness, incredible...
07:27Did I say Jack or Jake?
07:28Jake Golday.
07:29I just want to make sure I get that right.
07:31Yeah, Jake.
07:31He comes at over 6'4", 240 pounds.
07:35Massive human.
07:36But, one thing that I really liked at his size, his sideline-to-sideline agility was awesome.
07:44Yeah.
07:45He can move laterally quickly and effectively.
07:50But, one thing that I really did like in some of his pass rush reps, his hands.
07:55Yes.
07:55Very quick, very decisive with his hands, very calculated.
08:00And that's one thing that we've talked about.
08:01With some pop, too.
08:02Yes.
08:02Because he's got some power.
08:04And even with some of these first-round pass rushers that you and I have watched,
08:07we've said he needs to develop a little bit more use of his hands instead of power.
08:11You mentioned Keldrick Falk, a guy that probably would be available at 20.
08:16That's a guy that wins with pure power and pretty much nothing else.
08:19He needs a secondary move in the NFL to be successful for a long time.
08:23This is a guy at an outside linebacker position that he can win on a bull rush because sometimes
08:28he'll get lined up with a tight end that he's bigger than.
08:31And he'll just run them over.
08:32I saw a couple of pass rush reps where they put a slot receiver over him.
08:36Bad idea.
08:37Very bad idea.
08:38But there were times where he was going against a tackle on the outside where they would win.
08:43The tackle would win at the point of contact, but he would have some sort of swim move or
08:48chop where he's just eliminating the tackle's arms, swimming right past them and attacking
08:54the quarterback or stopping a run in the backfield.
08:56I really like his use of hands for an outside linebacker.
09:00I think at the college level, he's a little bit more advanced now.
09:03He's even doing some reading on some college boards where people are like,
09:07his most underrated skill is his pass rush ability because they didn't ask him to do
09:12it all the time.
09:14They're like the muddier waters for him is his coverage ability, which I definitely noticed.
09:18But his pass rush, sneaky good, as Dion would say.
09:23It's sneaky good.
09:23Yeah, he covers ground so well.
09:25And when I say covers ground, I'm not just talking sideline to sideline and into coverage.
09:29The way he gets to quarterback, like how fast he can cover that ground to get there, surprises
09:36a quarterback.
09:37And that's ultimately what you're looking for is you're trying to surprise people.
09:42The offense is trying to make mismatches.
09:44You're trying to create the same mismatches back and forth with them and not letting them
09:49know where you're coming from.
09:50You got guys like this across your defensive front.
09:53You got guys like this in your front seven.
09:55You can mix and match your blitz packages.
09:57You can mix and match where you're getting pressure from.
10:01And this is the kind of guy that this is interesting.
10:03Now, this is an interesting mock draft.
10:05It's a couple of names we haven't really discussed because we discussed them and said they exist.
10:10Yes.
10:11But when it comes to David Bailey, we've kind of just put it like that's the pipe dream.
10:17It's out of reality.
10:18It's no longer available because all the news right now is telling us that he has rapidly
10:25made his way up.
10:26Somebody said that they think he's a little overrated and overhyped.
10:30I watched him and felt like he was exactly what I was looking for.
10:34Yeah.
10:34I can totally see that.
10:36But Jake Golday would be a fantastic addition if that happens at 20.
10:41I think he's going to be a first-round pick for sure.
10:43But at 20 now, what can you do to add a Jacob Rodriguez or a C.J. Allen later in
10:49the draft?
10:50That's what you're hoping is that those guys fall a little bit.
10:52Rodriguez, I think we're all in love with him for multiple reasons.
10:56Wolchuk's definitely in love with him.
10:58He has a man crush on him.
10:59Yeah.
10:59A man crush that I don't think is safe, honestly.
11:03If Jacob Rodriguez is here and that man crush exists, we might have to hold him back just
11:08a little bit in Oxnard.
11:09Just imagine in like two years, if Jacob Rodriguez is a cowboy and the Cowboys player show on
11:16the Gbag Nation was Jacob Rodriguez, they would have to make Wolchuk sit out of every
11:21second.
11:22The weekly interview, he would have to sit out because it would just turn into him gushing
11:27about, oh my gosh, the mustache.
11:29How?
11:30It's beautiful.
11:31The hair, beautiful.
11:33Everything about you, beautiful man.
11:35That's all he would say the whole time.
