00:00it's interesting how so many people are now lining up and suggesting that this is in fact
00:04the plan the browns have and i just i thought it was fascinating that that todd then was going to
00:09applaud them for it i think it's really easy to say ah we'll just think about 2027 a year out
00:14when you don't have a skin in the game i i i think i think i honestly i think it's
00:20the easiest thing
00:21to do if it's not your job that could potentially be on the line or if you have to watch
00:25it like
00:27it's well hey if i'm once removed you could do this with anybody but you just ignore it you just
00:31ignore it is all you you can do and it's i just think the browns are going to be in
00:35this weird
00:35camp of just just just good enough to be outside the range of top quarterbacks for next year which
00:42means you either have to trade in or you just might be on the outside looking uh in on a
00:47quarterback
00:49so there feels like a lot of shador better be really damn good this year which again he's a
00:53fifth round pick i think i think he was much better than just where he was drafted but until
00:59proven otherwise that is what he is or he just really suck and then you're in a fine spot the
01:05boomer bus thing is the most appealing to me how bad does he have to be how bad does he
01:09really have
01:10to be what you saw last year top three pick next year what you saw last year if he is
01:14what you saw
01:15last year you'll have a top three pick still not convinced they might have too much talent
01:21how did we get there well they were a five win team last year yeah and so they've added talent
01:28to it but they've added three players on offense and one player on the defense no they've rebuilt the
01:32offensive line and they still have a draft to come i i think we're giving the draft a lot of
01:37credit in
01:37this one because i don't know that the draft is going to necessarily be a harbinger of great great
01:42ads but like that's it they're all rookies then like i i don't know they were all rookies last year
01:46and four guys said you're best players if vegas had five and a half last year and they have six
01:51and a half this year vegas doesn't agree with your assessment what do you mean like if the if
01:55their six and a half win total is what they are right now updated after free agency vegas doesn't
02:00agree with your assessment they've gotten drastically better six wins six wins means you're a what the
02:0510th pick seven wins means you're the 14th pick that's not in a position to get a quarterback but by
02:10the way also six and a half is uh that's it's not an even minus 110 the reality is vegas
02:16probably
02:16thinks you're closer to six than you are six and a half if they're being truthful about it yeah six
02:20wins is the 10th or 11th pick this year but if that's not but if that's your entry point that's
02:25still that's not that's not the worst thing in the world that's not that's not a that's not a
02:28massively better football team okay i think they're better i don't give a rat's ass what vegas says
02:35i think you have an offensive line that has a floor to it you didn't last year you had nothing
02:40on
02:40offense like you had you had harold fannin jr you had like eight good games of quinchon before he
02:45was rendered completely useless i don't think you're going to have those same problems but it's
02:50with an offensive line too that comes with its own questions with injuries in different players that
02:54you've added and there's a reason why five saints i said they were fine no no but i mean no
02:59i'm just
02:59i'm just i just question the idea that it's like a markedly better football team as of right now i
03:03don't think it takes much to be markedly better but like if shador is the same quarterback he was
03:07last year i think i think four wins is on the table easy five wins is on the table i
03:12get two wins
03:12in five games in this in the the growth has to happen within shador being a better quarterback
03:17that's how you end up that's how you end up getting the seven wins eight wins i think right
03:20now the most likely scenario is shador is somewhere between a sure thing and the worst quarterback on
03:27the planet and the rest of your talent takes a step forward or sorry the rest of your team is
03:33a
03:33little bit better better whatever you want to say and that doesn't get you a top 10 pick next year
03:39i guess we'll have to play out the season to find out so you're saying we got it we got
03:43it
03:43on a friday we got it we got to let it play out i guess but we're not we're not
03:47going to agree on
03:47brazilian dance fighting for the next six months we're not we're not going to agree on the idea of
03:51like what what i think the floor is and then verse what i think the ceiling is and then anything
03:55in
03:55between yeah that's just that's just june yeah i will and boy are we gonna have that june aren't we
04:02i guess you're true it's me realizing i'm not excited for june now that's that's what that is i just
04:06i i was i'm not
04:07saying this specifically to you the fatalistic they're gonna stink thing it's not fatal there
04:12are levels to stink that i think we're not respecting here all right there is the difference
04:17between being a three-win team with an offense that is absolutely the poop no no no but but but
04:23you were making the inference that there was no way possible they could be a four-win team and that's
04:29that's what i argued against like i do i think more likely than not they end up somewhere in like
04:33the six seven eight win category yes i do i guess i do but the argument i was making wasn't
04:39that the
04:39argument that i was making is if chador is the same quarterback he was last year three or four wins
04:43is
04:43on the table that's why it's a boom or bust if i think he's chador is awesome then let's talk
04:47about
04:47seven eight nine wins anything in between if i think that he absolutely stinks then uh yeah i think
04:53we could have a scenario where uh you take even a five-win team last year and you have a
04:58worse win
04:59loss record in between i don't even think that's a hot take i think that's just being realistic
05:02daniel oyofusi was on last night with uh our buddy jake volnick of course this is before
05:09the panthers signed rasheed walker who we had all thought the browns were targeting there it left
05:14tackle but daniel talked about uh his confidence in the browns ability to improve this offense further
05:21the work's not done like i still think i'm very confident that a wide receivers is going to be added
05:27with you know some significant resources you know i think tight end early in the draft
05:32maybe in the middle part of the round could be added um because the the compensation given to
05:37jack stole wasn't really significant as a non-guaranteed contract um but yeah i mean i
05:41think that that's the hope that like they're getting to a point where and and andrew very kind
05:45of alluded to it in his end of season news conference like like they want to place pieces
05:50around the quarterback that allow them to really properly evaluate the quarterback and i think we're
05:55getting closer to that but the work isn't done i think that now it's like now the big move is
06:00like
06:00finding you know some skill positions on the outside and that can really really you know help
06:04out the uh the quarterback position so i definitely think the big ticket purchases meaning like the
06:11ones that we're looking at you know 50 30 million dollars guaranteed to those definitely are there's
06:18not a lot of guys out there that fit that i think we're now in the dumpster diving to keep
06:22the trash
06:23theme going here part of free agency the good news is from the wide receiver perspective there are still
06:30football players out there it just depends do the browns want to add another veteran in that room
06:35or would they rather go the two wide receiver approach in the draft all right what names we
06:38got out there because uh like i'm thinking what uh jp acosta put out there a couple hours ago he's
06:42like how about deandre hopkins a name that we've been talking a lot about for the previous couple
06:47years anytime it feels like we need a wide receiver addition his name pops up obviously that might
06:52signal they they're taking to sean at a very serious rate if that is the name though um all right
06:57well
06:57not him uh so i think tim patrick who's a big body wide receiver he's bounced around he's been
07:02he's had some injury problems but i think he's like six foot four um but here's some of the bigger
07:07names stefan diggs christian kirk debo samuel uh darnell mooney who just got cut in atlanta
07:13um curtis samuel uh marquise brown juwan jennings deandre hopkins greg dorch is not a big name
07:21uh nick westbrook ahine gotta keep scrolling uh tylon wallace of uh baltimore who that probably
07:30bears because of baltimore and juju smith schuster and brandon cooks he's old uh marquez valdez
07:40scantling it's a tougher name to say than you realize paper crochet you want james crochet back
07:45uh yeah that's probably where we're gonna stop oh gabriel davis is still available too yeah uh
07:50gabe davis guy we did talk about as recently as two years ago as a potential addition i don't hate
07:56the idea of juwan jennings by the way see this is a this is like the iuk one where it's
08:01like when you
08:01we start to realize too much about a player like brandon iuk just went so far off the reservation last
08:09year yeah and refusing to kind of rehab his knee that i kind of wonder what's going on between the
08:15ears there i know but i feel like the same way with juwan jennings but in the middle of winning
08:20he was throwing a big old baby fit so even with like iuk though i and again we can put
08:25jennings
08:25into this if you just think that he comes with some problems that like those are the guys the
08:28browns have to take chances on and like it's almost in a way it's kind of like how the calves
08:34took a
08:35chance with harden even though it never ends well with harden and everyone understands it's always at
08:40the very end going to just be miserable those are the type of guys i feel like the browns
08:44are not only in competition to get but are the guys that were probably uh most most likely to
08:50take on so i so you're right i would look at iuk as who was the chucklehead we brought in
08:56last year
08:56oh deontay johnson yeah i'm like hey if you step one one centimeter of your big toe over the line
09:04which by the way all training camp what did people say about him like they were talking about how good
09:07he looked yeah we we saw it out there firsthand and then all of a sudden and then the rest
09:11of the
09:11free season and then he didn't and then all of a sudden you got the egos camp and then it
09:14was like
09:14a whole just uh just didn't maintain so i think that's where iuk is i think juan still plays good
09:20football juan plays good football almost had double digit touchdowns last year uh his receiving yards
09:24were down relative what six three two twenty there's a lot that he can do i i just i i
09:29feel like that's
09:29the type of guy that would work really well i'm so i to me that would be again like i
09:34think juan
09:35is like a number two or like a great number three wide receiver i think the one thing that
09:40that now is the question is like in in san francisco you know what shanahan likes in each sets of
09:49his
09:49wide receivers you know what he wants from his x his y and a z right yeah we don't really
09:54know that
09:55with todd munkin so like i like the idea of juan jennings but or or tim patrick or like a
10:01bigger
10:01wide receiver i don't really know that i don't feel like i know if he has a prototype the way
10:07that certainly shanahan who honestly is like rigid to no this is what this is that like that's why
10:13with munkin we just kind of feel like everyone is verticals yeah you know and how much of that
10:18is baltimore and how they draft where it was like hey you want a bunch of zay flowers because you're
10:23going to get a bunch of zay flowers and that's the that's exactly what i was thinking of within the
10:26comment and so i i think it's going to be really interesting to see who they target and what they're
10:30what they're thinking but there are enough names out there there are people that we can do this
10:34where we don't have to enter a season where you're relying on the gauge larvaed ends of the world like
10:38we did last year 216 474 0092 are the browns done in free agency we're in the dumpster diving part
10:45but
10:45the good news is i think you can still find good football players there i'm probably a no on smith
10:50schuster he kind of falls closer to the line to the dante johnson of you've just been more of a
10:55chucklehead in the last three years and you've been a good football player also a chucklehead in kansas city
11:00where there's a lot of chuckleheads in kansas city that's kind of like their thing is having
11:03chucklehead wide receivers and at least this one he you know no no felonies but he did nothing and i'm
11:09not saying like you have to do accomplish everything when you have patrick mahomes but when mahomes is
11:13searching for receivers and you do again next to nothing over two seasons like i'm good i'm out on
11:18juju smith schuster now to what he said like i i agree with a lot of what he said about
11:23chador my my angst
11:25about the quarterback room really isn't about chador it's about deshaun it's about dylan and
11:31it's about you know how i definitely think we've shifted even mac jones and i would trade for mac
11:36jones depending on the price i'm not gonna have a second rounder for him but i would trade for mac
11:40jones um but mac would have to now compete with with chador and that is something i flip-flopped on
11:46in
11:46fairness i i feel like there's been times where i've said i just give mac the job i think i've
11:52gone
11:52backwards of like i don't know like where kyler has played so much good football you can't really
11:59say like it's not really a competition when we get to their track records mac jones is he was good
12:04for
12:04most of the time he played last year but he wasn't so good it was also shanahan's offense like i
12:11would
12:11i wouldn't want to completely stamp out my curiosity about chador for mac jones so we are to the point
12:17where anyone else that would bring in you at best you're a 1a to chador's 1b and most of the
12:24guys
12:24are 1b to chador's 1a and i but i think back to the wide receiver part of this is i
12:29i think all
12:30anyone's looking for is uh can you give chador a realistic chance and can you give him a chance and
12:34i think they're starting to do that with the offensive line but like can you give him a realistic
12:38chance so we can accurately grade what you have and if it's only one season then fine but that's that's
12:43we need to do that
