00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Pitagno. We'll
00:04see a bit of an east-west split weather-wise across the UK as we head through Saturday
00:07afternoon. Out towards the east and southeast we hold on to some bright weather, at least
00:10for a time. I think the south coast of England could be quite murky, some fog patches in
00:14places. And then out towards the west, notice things turn much windier, with some outbreaks
00:17of rain moving in there from the west, some of it turning quite heavy in nature. Quite
00:21a mild picture where the bright weather lingers towards the east and southeast. Temperatures
00:25towards the southeast could peak at 14, even locally 15 Celsius, which is into the mid-50s
00:29in Fahrenheit, several degrees above where they should be for the time of year. Towards
00:33the north and northeast there's a chillier picture, certainly across the Northern Isles,
00:36no better than 5 or 6 Celsius as we go through Saturday afternoon. Into the evening and through
00:41the overnight period, outbreaks of rain move their way from west to east across all parts.
00:45Quite a blustery end of the day, some of the strong winds in places. Those outbreaks of
00:49rain into the early hours of a Sunday become more confined across England and Wales, whereas
00:53towards the north and northwest we start to see some clearer spells developing here, but
00:57quite a rash of showers, some of those showers quite heavy, quite blustery, accompanied by
01:01some hail and thunder in places too. You can see a touch of frost by the end of the night
01:05across the far north of the UK, certainly in some rural spots. On the whole though, it's
01:08frost free, and certainly frost free across England and Wales, with the clouds and rain
01:12around. Temperatures here holding up in double figures in places.
01:15So as we go through the day on Sunday, that rain across the far south and southeast will
01:18take its time to clear, but once it does, we're left with plenty of sunshine across
01:22many southern parts of the UK, whereas towards the north and northwest, much of Scotland,
01:26and Northern Ireland is seeing blustery winds, lots of showers around. Again, some of the
01:29showers quite heavy, with some hail and thunder in places. Those showers tempering the temperatures
01:34across the north and northwest of the UK, peaking across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland
01:38at 9 to 11 Celsius, but once again it's very mild towards the south and southeast. When
01:42the sun comes through, we could see highs of 15, possibly even locally, 16 Celsius, and again,
01:47that's well above the late February average. Going through the evening then on Sunday, towards
01:52the far south and southeast, we'll hold on to some clear spells, at least for a time,
01:55but the showers towards the north and west of the UK there will make inroads across other
01:59parts of the UK as we go through the evening and overnight period on Sunday. Again, some of
02:03the showers quite heavy and quite blustery in nature, with some hail and thunder to contend
02:07with as well. That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuning to the
02:10Met Office forecast by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel.
02:15I'll see you soon, take care, bye bye.
