00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office, I'm Marco Pitagno.
00:03We're holding on to some wintry weather across parts of the north-east of the UK, certainly
00:07eastern Scotland and north-east England for a time this afternoon, but snow and freezing
00:10rain gradually giving way to wet and windy weather and milder conditions from the south-west,
00:15particularly blustery up towards the Northern Isles.
00:17Here we can see gusts of wind to 60, even 70 miles an hour at times during the afternoon,
00:21and particularly wet out across western southern parts of Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland
00:25as well.
00:26Further south, it's a case of showery outbreaks of rain, but notice those blustery, southerly
00:29winds, and that will help to lift temperatures certainly across western parts of the UK,
00:34up to around 10 Celsius locally, up to 12 down towards the south-west, that's into the low
00:38to mid-fifties in Fahrenheit, but notice out towards the east and north-east it's still
00:41quite chilly, but that milder air is starting to push in, as I say, from the south-west,
00:46and that process continues as we head into the evening and through the overnight period.
00:50Very blustery winds developing across the west and north-west of Scotland.
00:53Here we're likely to see some gales, if not severe gale force winds, gusts potentially up
00:57to 70 or 80 miles an hour at times here, coupled with very heavy outbreaks of rain at times
01:02as well.
01:03Elsewhere, the rain will gradually give way to clearer spells and blustery showers from
01:07the south-west, so we end the night certainly down towards the south and south-east on a
01:11drier note, and certainly a much milder end to the night than in recent nights, generally
01:15frost-free, temperatures in some parts no lower than 9 or 10 Celsius, 10 down towards the
01:20south-west there is around 50 in Fahrenheit.
01:23As for Monday itself, we hold on to very blustery winds towards the north and north-west of Scotland,
01:28those gales only slowly easing through the day, further outbreaks of showery rain, some
01:32of which will be quite heavy at times, but it will be a generally milder day than of late,
01:36and across the south here we'll see some bright spells, certainly across the east and south-east
01:39of England for a time during the morning, before showers then push in from the south-west,
01:44merging at times into the afternoon to give some longer spells of rain.
01:46It stays quite blustery, but as I say, particularly up towards the north and north-west of Scotland,
01:50and wherever you are, it's a generally milder day than late, so we could well see highs down
01:55towards the south-east during the afternoon, up to 12 Celsius, that's 54 in Fahrenheit,
01:59nearer to 8 or 9 towards the north, which is still pretty good for the time of year.
02:03That's pretty much it from me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast

02:10I'll see you soon, take care for now, bye bye.
