43:24I was never, ever afraid of him.
43:26We had some unswinged ingers, and I never felt I had to back down.
43:31When it happened on the Tuesday, if you'd have asked me on the Monday, would he do that?
43:36I'd have said, never in a million years.
43:37What did he do?
43:38He came to the door on the Tuesday afternoon, said he needed some help with chemical forms.
43:44He didn't understand them, so I said, come in, if I can help you, I will do.
43:50So I looked at him, I said, Peter, I don't understand him any more than you, you're going to have
43:54to go to the council.
43:57Right, well, am I having a cup of tea before I go?
44:00So I said, yeah, but five minutes and you're going, that is it.
44:05Right, so when I went in the kitchen to put the kettle on, he was in the living room looking
44:11through the patio doors.
44:13When I turned round, it just got past me, we were in the kitchen, but I didn't know until I
44:20felt his hands on my shoulders.
44:22And I sort of shrugged, and as I'm shrugging, saying, no, Peter, I'm not coming back, I got to the
44:28kitchen door and he lifted my chin up and put a knife to my throat and said, oh, no, no,
44:33no, Mr. Nice Peter anymore.
44:36So then it got hold of me arm, made me go to the patio windows and shut the blinds, go
44:43in the kitchen, shut the kitchen window and the blinds.
44:46And then he said to me, right, get undressed. And I said, no, you're not doing that to me, you're
44:51not.
44:52He said, I said, get undressed. I said, no.
44:55So I was sat down at the kitchen table, so he yanked me up and he said, if you don't
45:01do it, I will.
45:02And then he realised that the front door wasn't locked.
45:06So he put his hands on my shoulders, took me to the front door.
45:09So with that, I just yanked the door, run, but he caught up with me and he pulled the knife
45:15out again.
45:15And he said, if I slip that artery there, you'll be dead. Now move, get back in that house.
45:21And I went, locked the door, took me back in the front room.
45:25He got hold of me in a burrug where he had both the hold of his arm.
45:29I couldn't breathe. I thought he was crushing me.
45:32I said to him, Peter, I can't breathe. I can't breathe.
45:36So he let go.
45:37He goes in the kitchen.
45:39So I'm stood near the kitchen window.
45:41He said, take your clothes off.
45:43So I did what, I took my clothes off.
45:46I don't want to embarrass you or whatever.
45:50He raped you, didn't he?
45:52Mm-hmm.
45:52How many times?
45:53Three.
45:55Just looking at you, I know that you're going to be all right and I'm sure it's been horrific,
46:00but you have your mother's spirit.
46:02Thank God.
46:02It's not something that you could ever know what to say about.
46:07And you said it there that you never believed that he was capable of that.
46:10Explain to me how it then comes to be after such a horrific, frightening attack that you decide to hang
46:18around to save his life.
46:19Did he take, what did he do?
46:21He was, before he got to where I live, he'd already said to me, I've been in the pub and
46:29I've took 28 tablets already.
46:32And all through what was going on, he were popping pills for fun.
46:36Did he pass out?
46:37Yeah, he sat at the, well, I'm sat at, my mum's got a drop leaf table, so he's that side
46:42and this side.
46:43And on the wall is the clock and it's just, and I'm watching his going up and down, his breathing,
46:49thinking, when's it going to stop?
46:50When's he going to die?
46:51Like, and his hands just come up and his head went to one side and he were grey and I
46:59just jumped up and I said, I don't care what you do to me, I'm getting an ambulance.
47:03Why did you do that?
47:04Why didn't you run for your life?
47:06Well, because, why should I have let him die and him get away with people saying at his funeral, oh,
47:13what a good lad.
47:18What was the last thing he said to you?
47:21That he loved me.
47:23Did you do the right thing?
47:25Yeah.

47:26Yeah.
47:26Are you scared of him?
47:27No, not anymore.
