00:00Hello there, good morning. Quite an unsettled day ahead, with most of us seeing some rain
00:05at some point today. Also some fairly strong gusty winds. Quite a windy start towards the
00:10west with some rain in places. A little bit drier further east across the country, some
00:15mist and fog soon clearing away. But it is going to gradually turn unsettled from the
00:19west as this heavy band of rain moves its way eastwards, likely producing some hail
00:24and also some thunder at times. Eventually clearing northern Ireland, western parts
00:28of Scotland, so turning brighter here with some sunshine and also some showers. But
00:33elsewhere across much of England and Wales, cloudy with some heavy showers which could
00:37turn thundery towards the south west. It's likely going to be feeling quite warm in places,
00:43certainly across parts of the south and southeast, whereas elsewhere temperatures closer to average
00:48for this point in September. Now eventually the heavy rain will clear. It may linger for
00:53a time across the far southeast, still with some heavy outbreaks towards the end of the
00:58day. But overnight most of the rain will have cleared. It will turn a lot drier. The winds
01:02will ease away, winds turning light overnight. And for most there will be plenty of clear
01:07skies. Still some showers towards the north west, but they should be mostly confined to
01:12coasts of Northern Ireland and also western and northern Scotland. And where winds are lightening
01:17off and skies clear away, that means it's going to be a much chillier night to come. Most towns
01:21and cities dropping down to around the mid to high single figures and possibly low single figures towards
01:27rural spots under the clearest skies. Now for most on Monday, as high pressure builds, it's a much calmer,
01:34more settled day. It should be dry with light winds. Plenty of sunny spells, though we could see some high
01:41wispy clouds towards the end of the day, creating some hazier spells of sunshine. A little bit breezier
01:46still towards the north west and some showers here. These mostly becoming confined to the far north of Scotland
01:51towards the end of the day, so most areas will be dry. We do just need to keep an eye
01:56on this rain
01:57towards the southeast. Now some models do have this slightly further north and slightly further west,
02:03which could mean the difference between a dry day and a wet day. But for the time being, it looks
02:07like
02:07a lot of that rain stays confined to the very far southeast, where it could turn a little bit wet
02:12towards the afternoon. So one to keep an eye on there, but for most it should be dry, feeling quite
02:17warm in the sunshine. Temperatures in the mid to high teens, if not the low 20s, towards the south
02:22and southeast. Now as we progress further into the week, we do need to keep an eye on developments
02:29out towards the Atlantic. We've got this big area of low pressure, which is likely to bring another
02:34spout of unsettled weather on Tuesday and Wednesday, likely bringing in some heavy outbreaks of rain
02:40later on Tuesday. Also some fairly strong winds, particularly across the west. This could create
02:45some quite high waves in places. Not only that, but if we take a look at where our winds are
02:51coming
02:51from, it's mostly a southerly. So actually some places could see another spell of some warm weather,
02:56at least across the far east and southeast of England, where temperatures could push into the mid-20s,
03:01maybe higher in some places. So quite a mixed bag of weather as we progress into the new week,
