00:00I'd like to state that no braineese or insects were harmed in the making of this program,
00:03and that none of the training you're about to see be attempted unless under expert supervision.
00:09Eight braineese, one challenge.
00:12To use complex mass of 100 billion cells we call Brain for chance to win Brain Jutsu Black Brain Belt.
00:19This is Brain Jutsu.
00:22Born in Lancashire, trained in Japan, with mind as sharp as samurai sword,
00:33he is brain master, he is the sensei.
00:37Konnichiwa, and welcome to Brain Jutsu.
00:42Mental training specially designed to boost brain power and focus.
00:47My trainees, or braineese, have been following a basic program of training in the comfort of their own home.
00:54A brain-boosting routine of exercise, sleep, and enough fruit and veg to stock a greengrocer's.
01:02I've done a lot of training, so I feel very confident, and I think I'm going to beat everyone.
01:07I'm not really nervous, I'm more totally terrified.
01:10I'm really confident because I used to do karate, and now I'm going to win that black belt, come on!
01:14Now my braineese must put their training into practice.
01:18By testing a part of their brain we use every day.
01:21Level 1.
01:22You're no fault!
01:25Take a look at my very cluttered garage.
01:28Now, try to find the little rubber duck.
01:31Spotted, eh?
01:32Congratulations!
01:33You've just used your occipital lobes.
01:37This area, the seeing part of our brain, allows us to recognise and separate images from each other.
01:43The seven braineese, who use their occipital lobes the best, will be allowed to enter my brain jitsu dojo, where their training will continue.
01:51The one who fails will be left outside.
01:54Oh!
01:55Feel the burn.
01:57Enter the dojo!
01:59Braineese must first answer four questions by counting the different faces on the board in front of them.
02:07Get the questions right, and they'll be left with a four-digit code, which they must then use to unlock a piece of brain and secure their place in the dojo.
02:15But with only seven pieces of brain and eight braineese, one of either Florence, Jamal, Catherine, Timothy, Ella, Jack, Francesca, or Jag Raj, will be left outside and eliminated.
02:30The atmosphere in the noodle bar is hotter than a spicy tuna hand roll, as the four questions are revealed.
02:35How many blue faces have ears?
02:43How many red faces have one ear?
02:53How many smiley faces have freckles?
02:55How many red smiley faces are there?
03:12The code our braineese are looking for is 1159.
03:16The order in which they unlock their piece of brain will decide the order our braineese take part in the levels to come.
03:22The braineese who does not complete this challenge will be eliminated.
03:25Jack is first up, with Francesca, Catherine, and Jamal close behind him.
03:32But have they got the right code?
03:35No, they have not.
03:37Jack is on his way back to the noodle bar, while Jag Raj is about to have his first crack at the brain.
03:46Don't forget, the code our braineese are looking for is 1159,
03:51as there is one blue face that has ears,
03:53one red face with one ear,
03:55five smiley faces with freckles,
03:57and nine red smiley faces.
04:01So, Jack's cracked it first, with Timothy falling close behind.
04:09Catherine, Florence, and Francesca secure their place in the dojo.
04:13Leaving Jamal, Ella, and Jag Raj to battle it out for those two final pieces of brain.
04:28Don't be distracted, Ella.
04:30Concentrate on finding the right answers.
04:32Not on how well Jamal is doing.
04:33Hey, and stay calm.
04:35That correct code again is 1159, and Jamal's got it right.
04:43But Ella is close to tears at the realisation there's only one piece left.
04:47Both braineese have got an answer at the same time,
04:51but Jag Raj gets there first.
04:53Has Ella's brain jitsu journey ended so soon?
04:58Jag Raj is wrong, and Ella grabs her last chance with both hands,
05:02and it pays off.
05:03Jag Raj is gutted.
05:12He's out, and Ella's in.
05:15So, as Seven entered the dojo,
05:17for a chance to survive six more gruelling levels of brain training,
05:20for Jag Raj, the dream of the black brain belt has ended before it even started.
05:25I feel really, like, upset because I'm the first one to, like,
05:30be eliminated of the whole competition.
05:33I think Francesca can win the black belt because she's got 100% confidence.
05:39So, with six levels to go, only Jack, Timothy, Catherine, Florence,
05:44Francesca, Jamal, and Ella have achieved the first of their coloured brain belts.
05:49When I came second, and I realised, I felt really relieved.
05:53It's a really good feeling once you know you've actually done it.
05:56Well, it was really dramatic.
05:58I mean, there was so much pressure.
06:00Tim was only a few minutes, maybe, behind me,
06:04so I'd say he's probably going to be a bit of competition.
06:09Brain jitsu.
06:12In this next level of training, things are going to get really hard.
06:17Level two.
06:18Orange belt.
06:19We do things every day without even thinking about it,
06:23like using the remote control for the telly.
06:26But try turning up the volume with the hand that you don't normally use.
06:31Go on, a lot more harder, isn't it?
06:33If you manage to do that, you're using part of your brain
06:36that deals with problem solving, the frontal lobes.
06:40And that's what level two is all about.
06:43Taking something you normally do without thinking,
06:46and doing it differently.
06:48Work it!
06:49To prepare them for using their frontal lobes in the next challenge,
06:52my brainies are going to need some training.
06:55Room of Mental Nourishment.
06:58The Room of Mental Nourishment is where our young hopefuls
07:01will train their brains to help them progress
07:03to the next levels of the dojo.
07:06The more seriously our brainies take the training,
07:08they're better prepared they'll be for the challenges that lie ahead.
07:11And in level two, that challenge is all about getting their brains
07:15to think in a new way.
07:17Brain training.
07:18Write the name of the brainy you think will win the black belt.
07:21Write backwards using the hand you don't normally write with.
07:25Could you write us up?
07:26Well, if you want to be shown as completely immodest, sure you can.
07:31Can you write an abbreviation of their name?
07:33Because if I was to write you, can I put Fran?
07:35No, no, I hate Fran, no.
07:37OK, well, not Fran, but you know what I...
07:38A mirror, someone get a mirror.
07:39Great balls of sushi.
07:41There seems to be some sort of rivalry between Francesca and Ella.
07:47So, our brainies are writing backwards with the wrong hand.
07:50This will help them think in a new way
07:52by getting them to use their frontal lobes.
07:55Feisty Francesca has the right idea.
07:57For those who are struggling, here's a training tip.
08:00Picture the word in front of you before you write it.
08:03Think about each individual letter.
08:05Is that it?
08:06Yeah, just go through and have a good job.
08:08Tim seems to be practising his doodling, not his writing.
08:12I don't know if I could draw as well with my left hand,
08:14and I thought I might as well give it a try,
08:16and it turns out I'm quite good at it.
08:18If you want to work your frontal lobes at home
08:20by writing backwards just like Jamal is right now,
08:23it'll help you improve your all-round focus.
08:25Jack got voted the most.
08:27I think it's because he's got a short name.
08:29But Tim's got a shorter name.
08:30Yeah, but Timothee's is funny.
08:32Anyway, yeah, but also Jack's quite confident.
08:35Can I get the black belt?
08:37No, no, you will. It's all going to be me.
08:39I think it might be either Jack or Ella.
08:41I think Ella really wants to win.
08:43She's, like, got that kind of drive.
08:46Is that a good thing?
08:47So do I have a skill to get that one, like, somebody?
08:52Oh, come on.
08:54Will Jack the lad's confidence
08:55see him take first place two challenges in a row?
08:58Will artistic Timothee's lack of training lead to elimination?
09:03And will feisty Francesca and ambitious Ella come to blows?
09:07There's only one way to find out.
09:10It's time for our brainies to really put their training to the test.
09:13Guardian of the dojo and task-adjudicator the Sheehan
09:16will now demonstrate the level two challenge.
09:19Spell backwards. Step forward.
09:22To stand chance of gaining orange belt,
09:25seven brainies must now think in reverse.
09:28Sheehan will show them picture.
09:30They have to say what is.
09:32That is cat.
09:33Then they spell word backwards.
09:36T-A-C.
09:39Get right and our brainies can step forward.
09:42Get wrong and they stay put.
09:44Brainies can choose length of word they want to spell backwards.
09:48Longer word, more time they get to answer.
09:51Three seconds for three-letter word,
09:53up to six seconds for six letters.
09:56More letters, more steps towards destination.
09:59There is slight advantage to going first in challenge,
10:02but order brainies take part is order they completed level one.
10:06Whoever not finished will be eliminated from the dojo.
10:10My brainy tip here is to imagine the whole word
10:14and then break it down into groups of letters.
10:17Who? Who?
10:18Work those frontal lobes.
10:25Four.
10:27Pear.
10:28R-A-E-P.
10:31You do get something for a pair in this game, Jack the Lad.
10:34Four steps towards the finishing gong.
10:37Four.
10:39Four letters for artistic Timothy.
10:41Fire.
10:42E-R-E-F.
10:45Oh, it's wrong.
10:46Drawing instead of training just costs you four steps towards your orange belt, Tim.
10:51Four.
10:53Door.
10:55R-O-O-D.
10:57Catherine, sail through.
10:58Two.
11:00Six.
11:02Spring.
11:03Florence will have a real spring in her step if she gets six.
11:06G-N-I-R-S.
11:10Oh, dear.
11:11Florence was quiet in the training and the gamble hasn't worked for her.
11:14Five.
11:17Bread.
11:19D-A-E-R-B.
11:22Fancy Francesca gets a confident five.
11:27Four.
11:28Shoe.
11:30E-O-H-S.
11:34It's a shoe-in for Jamal.
11:36Four steps.
11:38Four.
11:41Ring.
11:42G-N-I-R.
11:45So, ambitious Ella finishes the first round as step behind rival Feisty Francesca.
11:50Round two sees a full house of correct answers for her brainies, leaving Jack the Lad in poor position to take the first orange brain belt.
12:00Four.
12:03Bell.
12:03L-L-E-B.
12:06L-L-E-B.
12:08It's ching-ching jackpot for Jack the Lad as he takes first place once again.
12:13A whole run of correct answers means Catherine is second to reach the podium.
12:18Francesca takes third and Jamal comes in a respectable fourth.
12:21That just leaves ambitious Ella, artistic Timothy and Florence to battle it out for the last two orange brain belts.
12:27T-N-E-T-E-S.
12:28T-N-E-T.
12:29Three.
12:32I-E-Y-E.
12:36All right, ambitious Ella is through.
12:41Florence's future in the dojo could depend on artistic Timothy's next answer.
12:46Four.
12:47He's gone for the safe four.
12:50The pressure is intense.
12:53Tent.
12:54T-N-E-T.
12:56He's got it.
12:58So, Timothy's in and Florence is out.
13:01She must hand over her yellow belt to the She-Han and leave the dojo.
13:09Walk of eternal regret.
13:12I do feel disappointed because I want to get to the third round.
13:16I think it went wrong because I was rushing the first word I took.
13:21I got nervous and shaky and I forgot to visualise the word before I spelt it.
13:27I think Jack's going to win it because he's really confident.
13:31So, with five levels to go, only Jack, Timothy, Catherine, Francesca, Jamal and Ella have gained their orange brain belts.
13:40It was excellent.
13:40I came first to go, which gave me confidence.
13:43But I was quite nervous to begin with because usually I'm not very good at spelling.
13:46So, I just chose the four-letter words.
13:48But now I'm really, really used.
13:51Brain T-Toon.
13:54Brainy.
13:55Not so brainy.
13:58Who's the clever clogs and whose brain needs a lot more training?
14:01First up, astronauts.
14:04This exclusive group is made up by some of the brightest bods on Earth.
14:08In 1969, astronaut Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon uttering the immortal words,
14:13One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
14:16I wonder if that was off the top of his head.
14:18Here's another group.
14:19Now, not McFly.
14:21Oi, get your hair cut.
14:22These lot, the Sahara Marathon Runners.
14:25These balmy boys and babes think nothing of legging it four and a half thousand miles across the Sahara Desert
14:31in temperatures well over a hundred degrees.
14:34Phew!
14:35And it takes these jokers a hundred days to reach the finish line.
14:38If they ever get there, I'm tired just thinking about it.
14:42Rainy astronauts.
14:43Not so brainy Sahara Runners.
14:48Rain T-Toon.
14:49Pressure in Brain Jitsu Dojo Rising.
14:54Now, your six young hopeful remain to compete on the watchful eye of Shihan.
15:00Artistic Timothy, who scraped through last round after drawing and training.
15:05Catherine.
15:07My tactic was just to play it safe and it worked.
15:10Jamal.
15:11Flown under radar so far, but could be one to watch.
15:15Jack the Lad, who take pole position both time.
15:17I'm going to get that black belt.
15:20Feisty Francesca, who not afraid to speak mind.
15:24And rival, ambitious Ella.
15:26I didn't really mind as much, I think, if I went out on the second round,
15:29which kind of maybe calmed me down because at least I got in.
15:33Challenge is about to get even tougher.
15:35Only two brainy will make final test.
15:38Table of Supreme Forecast.
15:39Where must move ball with power of mind
15:42for chance to win Brain Jitsu Black Brain Belt.
15:45It's time for...
15:47Level 3.
15:49Quiz Belt.
15:49Now, we all like to chat,
15:53but did you know that using words to communicate
15:55is one of the main reasons why our brains have grown so incredibly powerful?
16:00And that having a conversation exercises both halves of the brain.
16:05Now, if all that's doing your head in,
16:07allow me to explain.
16:09Imagine you're the trumpet player in an orchestra.
16:14Your main focus is on your own notes,
16:16but the conductor, well, he has to listen for everyone's notes.
16:21It's the same with the brain.
16:23There's the left half, which deals with the details,
16:26and there's the right half, which looks at the overall picture.
16:30This next level of training strengthens my brainy's focus
16:33by working one half of their brain under pressure.
16:37Hey, pump it up!
16:39Room of Mental Nourishment.
16:45It's our second visit to the Room of Mental Nourishment.
16:49Brainy's have a choice as to whether they take part or not,
16:52but any extra training they do will help them in the next challenge.
16:56For Level 3, it's communication.
16:59Brain training.
17:00Get into two groups.
17:02One brainy describes how the blocks fit together.
17:04The other group fits them together.
17:06OK.
17:07Well, it seems simple enough,
17:08so don't say that you're tempting fate.
17:11Those two can't seem to agree about anything.
17:13Can you hear us?
17:14Take a blue square block.
17:16It's got, like, four...
17:18It's got four square...
17:19We've got it.
17:19We've got it.
17:20So, our brainy's are in two groups.
17:22The girls should use the right side of their brains
17:25to describe clearly how to build the blocks.
17:27Can you see us?
17:28The boys should use the left side of their brains
17:30to concentrate on interpreting those instructions
17:32and make the same block.
17:34Two long blocks made out of four things,
17:37but they're all together.
17:39So, um, a lot of blue.
17:42Oh, feisty Francesca.
17:44Clearly not happy that Ella cut her off there.
17:46Now, have you got a thing that looks like a house?
17:48It's like a...
17:49I've got a top thing.
17:50OK.
17:50Jamal is trying to keep quiet and listen,
17:53but Jack the lad just won't stop asking questions.
17:56It's the flat bit supposed to face us.
17:59It looks like a house on a team.
18:01OK.
18:01Oi, brainy's, quiet and down.
18:03The key to this training is to talk one at a time
18:06and listen to each other.
18:07You must work one team after all.
18:09You might be on the other side of the fence
18:11in the next challenge.
18:13No, the bit that goes into a...
18:14Aye, time for a training tip.
18:16Use short, clear instructions.
18:18Imagine yourself hearing them.
18:20Right, well, for the moment,
18:21you should have a blue, quite high square.
18:25Catherine is being very clear with her instructions.
18:28On top of that, there is a yellow double block.
18:32Yep.
18:33OK.
18:33Have you got any single blocks that are...
18:36And amazingly, rivals, Ella and Francesca,
18:38are taking turns to talk.
18:40OK, you need two of them
18:42and put them beside the yellow blocks.
18:44But...
18:44Well done.
18:47Well, Jack the lad still isn't listening.
18:49In fact, he's not taking the training
18:51very seriously at all.
18:53They've just broken it.
18:56Girls aren't very good at giving instructions.
18:59You know why?
19:00Because they're girls.
19:02Two!
19:03Oh!
19:05So, Jamal at least tried to listen in the training
19:09and clear communicator Catherine came out on top of the girls.
19:13Jack the lad didn't take the training seriously
19:15and ambitious Ella did a lot of shouting.
19:18But who'll make it to the next level of the dojo?
19:21Time to find out
19:22as our six now put the communication training to the test.
19:25This level tests how well our brainies can communicate.
19:36So, our six need to be in teams of two.
19:38The chopsticks will decide the pairs.
19:44So, there's Tim and Francesca,
19:46Ella and Jack,
19:47and Catherine and Jamal,
19:49which means one talker and one listener per team.
19:51But after all the boy-girl rivalry,
19:54will they work well as a team?
19:56Jack and Ella certainly don't look too pleased.
19:59As quickly as possible,
20:01teams must whack open six lanterns
20:03containing number that go together to form some.
20:07Pairs first need to decide who is Guider,
20:09who is Whacker.
20:12Whackers will be blindfolded
20:13and will be relying on Guider
20:15to locate lanterns.
20:18When all six are opened,
20:19brainies stop clock by shouting,
20:22Brain Jitsu!
20:23Quicker they whack lanterns,
20:25more time they have to pick up numbers
20:27and work out some.
20:28When brainies are happy with answer,
20:31hit gong!
20:32First two teams to provide correct answer
20:34get green belts
20:36and advance to next level.
20:38One brainy from losing team
20:40will be eliminated.
20:41The key to success here
20:43is for the Guider
20:44to use the right side of their brain
20:46to follow their teammates' progress
20:48and give them clear instructions.
20:51For their partner,
20:52it's vital
20:53they use the left side of their brain
20:55to focus on these instructions
20:57and nothing else.
21:00Go.
21:01Two steps forward.
21:02So, Artistic Tim and Feisty Francesca
21:05are first to test their communication training.
21:07Two steps forward.
21:08Whack.
21:10Feisty Francesca,
21:11certainly living up to her name,
21:13her spongy bat
21:14has a real power behind it.
21:17Up.
21:18Whack.
21:19Backwards.
21:20Three steps.
21:23Whack.
21:25Turn around.
21:26Tim is remembering his training well.
21:28He's using the right side of his brain effectively
21:30by giving short, clear instructions.
21:32Whack.
21:35Brain Jitsu.
21:36One final whack
21:37and they're done
21:38and they have a good time.
21:3956 seconds.
21:40Now, Ambitious Ella
21:43and Jack the lad.
21:44Two steps forward.
21:46Whack.
21:48Whack Jack.
21:49These two look less than thrilled
21:50to be paired up.
21:51Ella shouted a lot in the training
21:53and Jack didn't take it very seriously.
21:56Will it affect their performance?
21:57Whack.
21:59Whack.
22:00Whack Jack.
22:01Whack.
22:02This boy is hitting faster
22:03than a sumo
22:04on reinforced roller skates.
22:06He doesn't seem very controlled
22:07and is using his brawn
22:09a lot more than the left side of his brain.
22:11Whack.
22:13Whoops.
22:13Step to the left.
22:14And again, don't panic, Jack.
22:17Brain Jitsu.
22:19They're finished
22:20with a very respectable time
22:21of one minute and five seconds.
22:23Now for Catherine and Jamal.
22:26Two small steps forward.
22:29Whack.
22:29These two dives straight in
22:30faster than a Japanese Olympic swimmer.
22:33Clear Catherine was exactly that
22:34in their training.
22:35Her instructions are also good here.
22:40Okay, turn around.
22:42One to the right.
22:45Oh, sorry.
22:46One to the left.
22:47First problem here.
22:48Step forward.
22:49Whack.
22:50Clear Catherine getting mixed up there
22:51and it's cost them valuable time.
22:54Brain Jitsu.
22:56A time of one minute 35
22:58for Catherine and Jamal
22:59which means that
23:00Tim and Francesca
23:01are first to collect their numbers.
23:04Here's what our brainies
23:05are looking for.
23:06Can you work out the answer
23:07in your head?
23:17All teams are straight back
23:19with their numbers
23:19but it's Catherine and Jamal
23:21who finish their sum
23:22milliseconds before
23:23Tim and Francesca.
23:25But do the answers add up?
23:26Five plus ten equals fifteen.
23:28Fifteen divided by three
23:29equals five.
23:30Elra and Jack are in last place
23:32and as the other two teams
23:33have got the correct answer
23:34they must go face to face
23:36in the...
23:37both brainies must use their training
23:44to focus their minds
23:46on fighting the urge to blink.
23:47There's only one green belt
23:49up for grabs.
23:51So who'll blink first
23:52and be eliminated?
23:56Blink in Nora.
23:58Jack the lad has blinked
23:59and it's all over.
24:00Elra's in
24:01and Jack's out.
24:03And the boys
24:04can't believe it.
24:06Walk of eternal regret.
24:10I think we done well as a team
24:12but at the end
24:13we just weren't quick enough.
24:16I feel gutted to be gone
24:17in the third round.
24:20I really wish I could have gone further.
24:21So with four levels left
24:24it's green brain belts
24:25for Timothy,
24:26Catherine,
24:27Francesca,
24:28Jamal
24:28and Elra.
24:30In the training
24:31I learnt that
24:31we had to say things
24:33slowly and clearly
24:34which I think
24:36really helped me
24:36in the task.
24:38I'm feeling very elevated
24:39and I feel
24:40a bit sorry for Jack
24:42but
24:42the show must go on.
24:44Brain T2
24:47Level 4
24:51Blue Vault
24:52This fourth level
24:54requires our brain ease
24:56to master a primitive part
24:57of the brain
24:57called the amygdala
24:59the area
25:00that responds to threat.
25:02Oh!
25:03Oh!
25:04Remember the last time
25:07you felt afraid
25:08or panicky?
25:09Maybe it was on a dark night.
25:11Well,
25:12that feeling
25:13was triggered
25:13by the old amygdala.
25:16Stress
25:16can make you lose focus.
25:19Fact.
25:19Which is why
25:20my brain ease
25:21must train
25:22to keep their emotions
25:23under control.
25:26Room of Mental Nourishment
25:28We're back in the room
25:31of mental nourishment
25:32and it's time
25:33for our five remaining
25:34green belt holders
25:35to overcome their fear.
25:41Brain Training
25:43Form a circle
25:44past a disgusting drink
25:46around a circle
25:46only passing it on
25:48when you've said
25:48a different word
25:49relating to the last
25:50one someone says.
25:51Tell me that's apple juice.
25:53No, I don't think so.
25:55After one minute
25:56the brainy holding
25:57the drink
25:57has to drink it.
25:58Ew!
25:59Is that cod liver oil?
26:01Yes, it is cod liver oil.
26:03Yummy.
26:04I'm starting.
26:05I'm starting.
26:06Wheat.
26:08Yeast.
26:09Flour.
26:11Water.
26:13Duck.
26:15Chinese food.
26:17Sweet and sour chicken.
26:22Ducks.
26:23Or Catherine's fear
26:24has made her
26:25repeat Jamal's word.
26:27Yeah, no.
26:27Same thing, Catherine.
26:29Same thing.
26:30Come on, Catherine.
26:31Catherine, wait.
26:32Guys, wait.
26:33These two girls
26:33are very bossy.
26:34The rules don't say
26:35you drink
26:36if you get it wrong.
26:37Shout out to them.
26:39There.
26:41Go.
26:42Hurry up, hurry up.
26:42It just tastes like
26:43oily water.
26:44It didn't move.
26:45What?
26:47I just drunk it.
26:49Tim's paid the price
26:50for Catherine
26:50following Francesca
26:51and Ella's rules
26:52because the clock
26:53was still ticking
26:54and now the gong
26:55means a minute's up.
26:56Tim has to drink too.
26:58Drink.
26:58I don't know.
27:01Training tip time.
27:04Welcome the drink
27:05as your friend.
27:07It holds the answer.
27:10Hey, friend,
27:10shall we have a sleepover
27:11next Saturday?
27:12That's not quite
27:14what the tip meant, Ella.
27:15Try to imagine the drink
27:16as something nice
27:17like a chocolate milkshake
27:19and you'll stay calm.
27:20If you're afraid of the drink,
27:22it'll cloud your focus.
27:26Egg.
27:26Chickens.
27:30Birds.
27:32If you practise this technique
27:34at home,
27:34it will allow you
27:35to keep your emotions
27:36under control,
27:37stop you from panicking
27:38and help you focus better
27:40in situations like exams.
27:45Oh, that's another minute up
27:47and Jamal has to drink.
27:48Ready?
27:49One, two, three.
27:50Drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink.
27:53Make sure he's actually eating the drink.
27:55Oh, it's oily.
27:57She didn't make it.
28:00I think the tip is actually quite good,
28:02but also it's kind of,
28:04it's easier said than done.
28:06Yeah.
28:06I'm not especially nervous
28:08about the next task
28:09because I was quite nervous
28:10of drinking the cod liver oil.
28:12Claire Catherine conquered
28:13her fear of the drink,
28:14but can she tame
28:15her amygdala
28:16for the next task?
28:17And will Ambitious Ella
28:19be able to fight her fears
28:20and not just talk about it?
28:22There's only one way to find out
28:24as our five must now put their brain training
28:27to the test.
28:30Creepy Crawly Word Grab
28:32This level real test of mind over matter
28:36for braineese
28:36and will push them
28:38to really overcome their fear.
28:40Underneath the creepy crawlies
28:41lie an assortment of letters
28:42worth different points.
28:44Braineese have just one minute
28:46to plunge hands into tank
28:47and pick out up to seven letters each.
28:50They then have a further minute
28:52to make higher scoring word they can.
28:54To do well,
28:58my braineese
28:58must block out the signals
29:00coming from their amygdala
29:01and ignore the creepy crawlies.
29:04The quicker they combat their fear,
29:06the more time they'll have
29:07to pick out the high scoring letters.
29:10Underneath the pile of mealworms
29:12are an extra five golden letters.
29:14If our braineese
29:15manage to use one in their word,
29:17they double their score.
29:24Feisty Francesca
29:26isn't looking so feisty
29:28as she gingerly puts her hand
29:29in the mealworms.
29:31But it's like noodles.
29:33Ambitious Ella's amygdala
29:34is working overtime.
29:35She hasn't put her hand in at all yet.
29:39Artistic Timothy,
29:40Jamal and Claire Catherine
29:42were all pretty good
29:43in the training
29:43and here all three
29:45seem focused on the challenge,
29:47not the creepy crawlies.
29:50Ella said that overcoming your fears
29:51was easier said than done
29:53and that certainly seems to be true
29:54in her case.
29:55She's making her right fuss.
30:02The gong means that their minute is up
30:04and Ella can't believe
30:05the time has gone so soon.
30:07Now our braineese have another minute
30:09to make the longest word they can
30:11out of the letters they've collected.
30:21See if you can make a word
30:22from the anagram on the screen now.
30:24So, how have our green belt holders fared?
30:35Handy.
30:36Those 12 points will come in very handy
30:38for seeing you through
30:39to the next round, Timothy.
30:40Well done.
30:42Hope.
30:43Eight points for Catherine.
30:44Let's hope it gets her to level five.
30:49Rat.
30:49A golden letter means six points
30:52for Francesca.
30:52But will Rat be enough?
30:56Pay.
30:57Jamal's eight points puts Pay
30:59to any chance of his elimination
31:00so Francesca's blue belt
31:02rests on rival Ella's score.
31:06Ego.
31:06These two girls' egos have been bristling
31:09since they entered the dojo.
31:11You can see ambitious Ella
31:12is relieved to have got any word at all.
31:15But sadly,
31:15with only four points against six,
31:17Francesca's in
31:18and Ella is out.
31:20She's gutted,
31:21but her rival
31:22couldn't be happier.
31:23Walk of eternal regret.
31:33That last task went wrong
31:34because I pulled out
31:36too many of the same letters
31:37and I was a bit afraid
31:40of all the bugs.
31:41I think Timothy's going to win
31:42Brain Jitsu
31:43because he's quite confident.
31:45So, with only three levels to go,
31:47Timothy, Catherine,
31:49Francesca and Jamal
31:50proudly wear their blue brain belts.
31:53The training helped soothe my nerves
31:54because we knew that
31:56this wasn't going to be much worse
31:57than cod liver oil.
31:58I just escaped
31:59past by the skin of my teeth.
32:02Brain Jitsu.
32:06Brainy.
32:06Not so brainy.
32:09Who's the clever clogs
32:10and whose brain
32:11needs a lot more training?
32:13Bridges.
32:13Aren't they brilliant?
32:14Well, he thought so.
32:16Isambar Kingdom Brunel,
32:17Britain's most famous engineer
32:18and builder of some of the greatest
32:20bridges, tunnels and ships
32:21in the world.
32:22Including this,
32:23the Clifton Suspension Bridge
32:25in Bristol,
32:25which spans over 700 feet.
32:27Span-tastic.
32:28Now, this bridge,
32:30the Millennium Bridge,
32:31opened in 2000
32:32and cost over 18 million smackaroos.
32:34Problem was
32:35that people started complaining
32:36it was unstable.
32:37Some even felt seasick,
32:39which led to it being
32:40re-christened
32:41the Wobbly Bridge.
32:42It all turned out okay
32:43because the designers
32:44went and fixed it.
32:45Don't you just love
32:46a happy ending?
32:47Brainy.
32:48Brunel.
32:48Not so, Brainy.
32:49Millennium Bridge.
32:53Brain Jitsu.
32:56Henshin in Brain Jitsu Dojo
32:58mounting.
32:59Now, just four young hopeful
33:00remain to compete
33:02under watchful eye of
33:03Sheehan.
33:05Clear Catherine,
33:06who excel in communication
33:08training.
33:08Artistic Tim,
33:10who first placed last round.
33:12Yeah, I'm feeling
33:13really relieved that
33:14it wasn't me that went out.
33:15Jamal,
33:16one cool customer
33:17who's steadily making
33:18his way towards
33:19Black Belt.
33:20And Feisty Francesca.
33:22If it wasn't that
33:23I got a golden letter,
33:24I'd be out right now.
33:25Only two Brainy
33:26will make final test.
33:28Table of Supreme Forecasts.
33:30Where?
33:30Must move ball
33:31with power of mind.
33:33Brain Jitsu
33:34Black Brain Belt
33:34is within grasp.
33:36Here's the time for...
33:38Level 5.
33:39Red Bolt!
33:41Now,
33:42if you've just taken up
33:44competitive bog snorkelling
33:46then you might be interested
33:47to know that your new hobby
33:48is doing wonders
33:49for the old grey matter.
33:51Exercising both
33:52the thinking part
33:53of the brain,
33:54the cerebrum,
33:55and the doing part,
33:57the cerebellum.
33:58You see,
33:59doing new things
34:00increases the flow of blood
34:01into your head,
34:03which keeps your brain cells
34:04topped up
34:05with the oxygen they need
34:06to perform at their best.
34:08So,
34:08in Level 5,
34:10my Brainy's
34:11are going to be challenged
34:12to learn new skills.
34:13Now,
34:14you can speed up
34:15how quickly
34:16the brain takes in new stuff.
34:18And this is what
34:19our Brainy's
34:20are going to train for now.
34:22Room of Mental Nourishment
34:24and for this
34:30brain training exercise
34:31they're going to be
34:32really working
34:32their brains
34:33by learning
34:34something new.
34:38Brain training.
34:40Flip and catch
34:40as many drinks
34:41coasters as you can.
34:43Like this one.
34:45Ha ha!
34:46You've got to do it.
34:46Okay, wait, wait, wait.
34:47Ah!
34:48Oh, I'm really bad at this.
34:51I don't think any of us
34:51can do it.
34:52It's great.
34:53You're right, Tim.
34:54No one's showing
34:54any real coaster-catching talent,
34:56but this task
34:57needs to be hard
34:58so the thinking part
34:59of your brain
34:59and the doing part
35:00of your brain
35:01are equally pushed.
35:03Oh, my God!
35:04No, no!
35:05We can't even do it with one.
35:06How are we supposed
35:07to be doing it with two?
35:08This is very frustrating.
35:10Oh!
35:11Wait, we need a tip.
35:13Tip.
35:15Approach this positively.
35:17Laugh out loud
35:18for 30 seconds.
35:20That is officially
35:20the weirdest tip
35:21I've ever heard.
35:22That's creepy.
35:23That's creepy.
35:24That's not a new reason.
35:25Weird it may be,
35:26Francesca,
35:26but laughing
35:27and staying positive
35:28really can help
35:29when you're learning
35:30a new skill.
35:31If you don't get frustrated
35:32and tell yourself
35:33you can do it,
35:34you're much more likely
35:35to be successful.
35:37So our brainies
35:38have had a go
35:39at the giggles,
35:40but will it help them
35:41with their newfangled
35:42flipping skill?
35:43It seems to have worked
35:44for artistic Timothy.
35:47And Jamal's doing well, too.
35:51Fisty Francesca's doing okay,
35:52but Claire Catherine
35:53just can't seem to get it.
35:55I think you can do it with ways.
35:58Do it now?
36:00Yes!
36:01Finally, she gets one.
36:03The tip was to think
36:04positive thoughts
36:05and try and laugh
36:06out loud for 30 seconds.
36:08I don't think it was
36:09at all useful
36:09for flipping coasters.
36:12So, the boys both did well
36:14with their new skill,
36:15but can they take
36:16their training with them
36:17into the dojo?
36:18Catherine really struggled
36:20with this physical task.
36:21Will she fare better
36:22in the challenge?
36:23Only time will tell,
36:25as our four must now
36:26put their training
36:27to the test
36:28to learn a new skill
36:29for their red brain belt.
36:34Chop, chop, don't drop!
36:36To win red brain belt,
36:40brainies must remain
36:41mentally confident
36:42as they learn
36:42new physical skill.
36:44Remaining four
36:45must keep ball
36:46in airflow
36:46and guide it
36:48along obstacle course,
36:49through hoops
36:50and into basket.
36:51It is race against clock,
36:53but brainies must remain
36:54confident.
36:55There is five-second penalty
36:57every time ball drops.
36:59Brainy with slowest time
37:00will be eliminated.
37:02The tip for my brainies
37:04in this next task
37:05is to remain calm
37:08and think positive thoughts.
37:10Giving in to frustration
37:11will only lessen their focus
37:13and slow them up.
37:15The atmosphere in the dojo
37:17is hotter than sweet chili sauce
37:19as our four remaining brainies
37:20start the course.
37:22They must achieve mental focus
37:24to master this new physical skill.
37:27Artistic Timothy is first up.
37:28He did well in the training.
37:30Will he be able to master his mind
37:31to control his body under pressure?
37:38This is sensational.
37:40The better he does,
37:41the more mental confidence Tim has.
37:48That was textbook.
37:49A perfect run.
37:51That's sure to get Tim the red.
37:53Now, clear Catherine.
38:00Catherine didn't do well in the training
38:02and she's struggling here.
38:04She mustn't let her mistakes
38:05knock her confidence,
38:06but should stay mentally positive
38:07and focused to master
38:09this new physical skill.
38:12You can see the frustration
38:14on her face.
38:15Her confidence is more fragile
38:16than rice paper.
38:26Oh, a disastrous ending
38:28and Catherine doesn't look happy.
38:30Next up,
38:30feisty Francesca.
38:34Francesca can't seem
38:35to get off the starting blocks.
38:37In spite of her mistakes,
38:38she must remain mentally confident
38:40and in control of her body.
38:47She's got it now.
38:49One mistake on the basket
38:50and she's finished.
38:51Finally,
38:52Jamal.
38:52Jamal's ball is jumping around
39:00more than a bouncy sushi ball.
39:02He doesn't really look in control.
39:04He must focus his mind
39:05and believe he can do it.
39:07Oh, an excellent ending.
39:22But who'll be eliminated?
39:24Time for the results.
39:26Timothy,
39:2734 seconds and no penalties.
39:29That's got to be a record.
39:32Catherine,
39:32two minutes and 12 penalties,
39:34so that's three minutes in total.
39:35Francesca,
39:3747 seconds and five penalties,
39:40so that's one minute 12 in total.
39:42Catherine's red belt
39:43all hangs on Jamal's total time.
39:4658 seconds with six penalties,
39:48one minute 28 in total.
39:52So that's two wins in a row
39:53for artistic Timothy.
39:55He's looking unstoppable,
39:56but for Catherine,
39:57it's curtains.
40:02Walk of eternal regret.
40:05Being out of brain jitsu,
40:07I feel a little bit disappointed
40:09because I was very curious
40:11about what the other tasks
40:13were going to be about.
40:14But I'm quite pleased
40:15because I haven't done too badly.
40:17I think Timothy's probably going to win
40:18because in nearly every other challenge,
40:21he's come either first or second.
40:22So with only two levels left,
40:25Timothy,
40:26Francesca and Jamal
40:27stand proud in red.
40:29If my feelings were on a scale
40:31of one to ten now,
40:32I'd probably be 11.
40:34And as long as I stay cool,
40:35calm and collected,
40:37I reckon that black belt's mine.
40:38Even though I came third,
40:40I still have a big chance
40:41of getting the black belt.
40:44Rain jitsu!
40:45It's this level
40:52which will decide
40:53which two of my remaining brainies
40:56will go on to battle it out
40:58for the black belt.
41:01Now, imagine you're in your school play.
41:04As well as lines to remember
41:05and moving around on stage,
41:07there's also the audience watching you.
41:10It's remembering stuff
41:11under pressure like this
41:12that level six is all about.
41:16It centres around three areas of the brain.
41:19The seeing part,
41:20the occipital lobes,
41:22the memory part,
41:23the temporal lobes
41:25and the movement part,
41:27the cerebellum.
41:28To the max!
41:31Room of mental nourishment.
41:34With only three brainies remaining,
41:37this penultimate brain training challenge
41:38is all about improving their memory.
41:41Brain training.
41:42Memorise the sequence of the colours.
41:45OK.
41:45Silver, green, purple.
41:47So in this task,
41:47our three remaining red belt holders
41:49are exercising their occipital lobes
41:51or seeing part of their brain
41:53and their temporal lobes,
41:55the memory bank.
41:57OK, you go.
41:58Jamal.
41:58I haven't learned it yet.
42:00Jamal, you go first.
42:01Green, red, blue, yellow,
42:04purple, silver, green, purple.
42:07That's all I know.
42:08OK.
42:08That's your turn, Tim.
42:09Green, red, blue, yellow,
42:12purple, silver, green, purple,
42:14red, orange, green,
42:18oh, silver.
42:21OK.
42:22Yay.
42:22Is no-one going to tell Tim he did well?
42:24Obviously not.
42:26Green, red, blue, yellow,
42:28purple, silver, green, purple,
42:30red, orange, green, silver.
42:36How did I do?
42:37Um, hmm, real mature.
42:42Real mature.
42:43We're boys.
42:44Come on, training tip time.
42:46Tip, create a song linking the colours together.
42:50Well, well, like, that actually makes sense.
42:53Guys, if we're going to try this out,
42:54well, you should probably swap these bananas around.
42:57Memory tests like this
42:58are a great way of training your brain.
43:00Next time you're on shopping,
43:02create a song out of your list
43:03and see if you can remember everything on it.
43:06Green, silver, red, yellow.
43:08Guys, you do realise that, like,
43:09none of us are using the tip?
43:10Yeah, and loves it.
43:11They haven't exactly embraced the musical tip,
43:13but it's time to test.
43:15Green, silver, red, yellow,
43:18grey, purple, blue,
43:20red something, orange, purple.
43:24Oh, no, no, red, purple, orange.
43:25Francesca did OK,
43:27but will Tim's temporal lobe serve him better?
43:29Green, silver, red and yellow.
43:33Something are all rougher.
43:35Now I'm stuck.
43:36Oh, OK.
43:37Er, perhaps not.
43:39Green, silver, red and yellow, silver.
43:45Not that impressive, Jamal, I'm afraid.
43:48I hope the next task doesn't involve memory.
43:51Er, hate to break it to you, Tim.
43:53Based on the training,
43:54I think who should be eliminated is probably me.
43:57In my head, I was thinking of the rainbow song,
44:00but I kept on getting mixed up
44:01between the real rainbow colours and the sequence.
44:05The person with the best memory of the first game
44:08was Francesca.
44:10Well, in the second one,
44:12I think I was slightly better.
44:15I think Jamal's gone bananas,
44:17because, quite frankly,
44:18Frankie was way better at the training
44:20than either of the boys.
44:22Can she master her memory for the next challenge?
44:24Or will Jamal's confidence see him through
44:27to the table of supreme focus?
44:31Only time will tell,
44:32as our final three must now put their memory train
44:35into the test
44:36to win the brown brain belt
44:37and secure their place in the final.
44:41Super Memory Dizzy Dash
44:43Each brainy is spun round on Dizzy Wheel
44:47a total of ten times.
44:49Their task,
44:49to use all their power of focus
44:51to memorize five images in front of them.
44:55Then, race against clock
44:57to cross-balancing beam
44:58and collect same five images
45:00from ten hanging above them.
45:04Then, must arrange images in reverse order.
45:07When they are happy with their selection,
45:12a hit of gong stops clock.
45:17My tip for the brainy's
45:19is to keep focused on the main objective
45:22and use their training
45:23to link the five images together.
45:27So, our final three brave the wheel
45:29to compete for their brown brain belts
45:31and for a chance to triumph
45:33over the table of supreme focus.
45:35It's time to spin.
45:36Will the mirror training
45:38help our brainy's
45:39ignore the effects of the wheel
45:41and memorize the images?
45:42The order they are looking for
45:44is at the bottom of the screen now.
45:47Artistic Tim is first up.
45:48He didn't do so well in the training.
45:50Can he master his memory when it matters?
45:56Oops, the dizziness
45:57has made him a little bit unsteady.
46:00Not only are our brainy's
46:01under pressure
46:02as they race against the clock,
46:03but they have to fight their dizziness
46:05to collect only the five images
46:06they saw from the tent
46:07hanging above them.
46:09Then, they have to arrange
46:10those images in reverse order.
46:12Every image they get wrong
46:13is a five-second penalty.
46:15The brainy with the slowest time
46:16will be eliminated from the dojo.
46:23Tim's changed his mind
46:25about the pencil.
46:26He should have gone with his instincts
46:27because he was right first time.
46:31Now, feisty Francesca.
46:34Her training is paying off.
46:36She's flying through the course
46:37like a Japanese jet plane.
46:40Don't forget, this challenge
46:41decides which two brainy's
46:42go through to the final round.
46:44The table of supreme focus.
46:49Chili chicken ramen.
46:50She's already finished
46:52and she's spot on with the order.
46:54Bow down to the memory master.
46:58Finally, Jamal gets his turn
46:59on the wheel.
47:03Jamal thought he was better
47:04in the training
47:04than he actually was.
47:06Can he live up to his own hype?
47:09He looks so dizzy,
47:10his eyes are rolling
47:11more than a Japanese pastry chef.
47:18Jamal seems to be stuck.
47:19Perhaps if Jamal had listened
47:22to the training tip,
47:22he could have made up a tune
47:23and memorised the pictures better.
47:28His memory is clearly a bit sketchy
47:31about whether to pick the pencil.
47:39He's finally finished
47:40and the order looks good.
47:41But will he be fast enough
47:43to secure his place in the final?
47:45Time for the results.
47:47Tim, one minute six.
47:4916 and three penalties.
47:50A total time of one minute 31.
47:56Francesca, 42 seconds
47:57and no penalties.
47:59A superb round for her.
48:02Tim's place in the final
48:04rests on Jamal's time.
48:06No penalties,
48:07but with a time of one minute 42 seconds,
48:09it isn't fast enough
48:10to get the brown.
48:12Tim's in and Jamal is out.
48:15Oh, yes.
48:16Walk of eternal regret.
48:27The spinning was a big distraction
48:30because I missed the balloon
48:32when I was walking forward
48:34because I was so dazed.
48:35I think that Tim will win the black belt
48:39because he's more calm and focused
48:42than Francesca.
48:43So, with only one level to go,
48:47it leaves just artistic Timothy
48:48and feisty Francesca
48:50to wear the brown brain belts
48:51in preparation for the final.
48:53I'm really, really, really relieved
48:55because I really, really want to get that black belt.
48:58I'm going to just have to stay focused.
49:01I'm just going to give it my all.
49:02I think I still feel focused,
49:05but I'm still rather nervous as well.
49:07Brain Jitsu
49:10Eight young hopeful arrive at Brain Training Dojo
49:16to fight for Brain Jitsu Black Brain Belt.
49:20As challenges got tougher,
49:22Brainy gets fewer.
49:23Some lack speed.
49:25Others lost focus.
49:28One by one, they have been eliminated
49:29until just one boy, one girl remained.
49:33Feisty Francesca,
49:34who is walking advert for girl power.
49:37I'm going to just have to stay focused.
49:39I'm just going to give it my all.
49:42And artistic Timothy,
49:43whose reality check in level two
49:45made him take competition seriously.
49:47This is the final round.
49:49This is the difference between the black belt
49:50and going home.
49:53But who will use Brain Training to the max
49:55to win final challenge?
50:00Level seven.
50:01Black belt!
50:03So, this is it.
50:05Between my two remaining Brainy's
50:08and the black belt
50:09stands Brain Jitsu's ultimate challenge.
50:12A mental duel
50:13that is head to head
50:15in every sense.
50:17The battlefield?
50:18A table.
50:19But not just any table.
50:21For this, my friends,
50:22is the table of supreme focus.
50:25Where our two Brainy's
50:26will attempt to move a ball
50:27across the table
50:28using only
50:30the power of their mind.
50:32By getting this far,
50:34they've already demonstrated
50:35mental control
50:36under many different types
50:37of pressure.
50:39But now,
50:40they must learn to focus
50:41their minds
50:41by entering a state
50:43of total calm.
50:45To prepare them,
50:46my two finalists
50:47will need to get into
50:48the zone.
50:50Room of Mental Nourishment.
50:53Yes!
50:54We welcome
50:55feisty Francesca
50:56and artistic Timothy
50:57to the final
50:58Room of Mental Nourishment.
50:59For this task,
51:00our Brainy's
51:01must bring together
51:02all their training
51:03to achieve ultimate focus.
51:08Brain training.
51:10Mentally prepare yourself
51:11for the final task.
51:12Don't let the sounds
51:13put you off.
51:14Oh, it's a pinch.
51:22Francesca seems to be
51:23finding it hard to concentrate.
51:26But Tim has found his centre.
51:29It wasn't that hard,
51:31was it?
51:32It's doing my ears in.
51:34As Francesca is struggling,
51:36here's a training tip.
51:38Visualise and focus
51:39on somewhere you feel
51:40happy and calm.
51:42Tim is looking relaxed
51:44and calm again.
51:46As Francesca finally
51:48found her focus.
51:51As long as I stay calm,
51:52calm and collected,
51:53I reckon that black belt's mine.
51:54I'm really, really relieved
51:58because I really, really
51:59want to get that black belt.
52:01I'm just going to give it my all.
52:03I think it helps to, like,
52:05picture somewhere calm
52:06and, like, where there's
52:06no noise and everything.
52:08I am quite prepared.
52:10I would have liked
52:12to be able to do that
52:13without the noise for a bit,
52:14but, you know.
52:16Will artistic Tim
52:17win it for the boys
52:18or can feisty Francesca
52:20bring back girl power?
52:22Let's find out.
52:27Table of Supreme Focus.
52:32Rules are simple.
52:33Each brainy must push ball
52:35to the opponent's end of table
52:37using only power of mind.
52:40Sensors in brainy's headbands
52:41measure brainwaves.
52:43This is converted
52:44into electrical signal
52:45which moves ball.
52:46More focused mind,
52:49stronger signal
52:50and faster ball will travel.
52:53See how brainy's
52:54are doing on this readout.
52:56Two lines represent
52:57each player's brainwaves.
52:59Lower the line,
53:00more concentrated their mind.
53:08To make sure
53:09this is the test of all tests,
53:11our brainy's must win
53:12the best of three rounds.
53:13So, this is the big one.
53:17If they are to succeed,
53:18our two finalists
53:19must use all their brain training
53:21to enter their zone
53:22of absolute focus.
53:25This is the reason
53:27they came to the dojo.
53:29This is the moment
53:30they've been training for.
53:34The she-hand starts them off
53:36and the mind race is on.
53:39Feisty Francesca
53:40has control of the ball.
53:41You can see
53:42her black brainwave line
53:44is lower
53:44than Tim's green one.
53:46Hey,
53:46but it's close.
53:52Tim's taking control.
53:59But Francesca
54:00has pulled it back again.
54:01Mental mastery,
54:02this is tight.
54:03But Tim's regained control
54:09and now the ball
54:09is hurtling
54:10towards his opponent's end.
54:12His green brainwave line
54:13is straight and low,
54:15showing his mind
54:16is very focused.
54:17Ho-ho!
54:28So it's round one
54:29to Artistic Timothy,
54:31but that was a real mind duel.
54:33Francesca
54:33almost had it.
54:35Can she even the score
54:36in the second round?
54:39Tim is first
54:40to move the ball.
54:41His green brainwave line
54:42is only slightly lower
54:44than Feisty Francesca's
54:45black one,
54:46but it's enough
54:47for him to have control.
54:50Francesca
54:50is putting up
54:51a good fight.
54:52This competition
54:52is tighter
54:53than two sumos
54:54in a form box.
55:06Can she get it back?
55:08Can she find that focus
55:09to make it a three-round battle?
55:15No, that's it.
55:17It's all over.
55:18It's a triumph
55:19for Artistic Tim.
55:20He's proved himself
55:22a true master of the mind
55:23and worthy winner
55:24of the black belt
55:25of brain jitsu.
55:26To win the brain jitsu
55:28black belt,
55:28it feels amazing
55:30and it means so much to me.
55:33After doing all my training
55:35and getting through
55:35all these tasks,
55:36it's definitely
55:37been worth it.
55:38Glory for one
55:39brings disappointment
55:40for another.
55:41She fought valiantly,
55:43but now Feisty Francesca
55:44must leave the dojo.
55:47Walk of eternal regret.
55:51I'm really quite disappointed
55:52because I think
55:54if I could have
55:55calmed down,
55:56I would have
55:56come on top
55:59a little bit.
55:59I think Tim probably won
56:01because he just
56:02stared at one place
56:03and he just didn't
56:04let anything
56:05kind of deter him.
56:07Feisty Francesca
56:08fought a good fight,
56:09but Artistic Timothy
56:10came out on top.
56:14Inila went out
56:15in level two
56:16after doodling
56:16his way through
56:17the training,
56:18but the shock
56:19of near elimination
56:20jolted him into
56:21taking the competition
56:22seriously
56:22and he excelled,
56:24beating Francesca
56:25two rounds to nil
56:26in the final challenge.
56:28Through brain jitsu
56:29what I've learned
56:30is definitely
56:31I've built up
56:32my self-confidence
56:33loads
56:34and it's just
56:35winning.
56:35It's just amazing.
56:37Our journey
56:37has come to an end.
56:39Another brainy
56:40has proven themselves
56:41worthy to wear
56:42the brain jitsu
56:43black belt.
56:44But while brain jitsu
56:46might represent
56:47the most extreme
56:48form of brain training,
56:50its philosophy
56:50can be shared
56:51by all.
56:54Each and every one
56:54of you
56:55has it in your power
56:56to grow your mind.
56:58All it takes
56:59is dedication
57:00and practice.
