00:00I'd like to state that no braineese or insects were harmed in the making of this program,
00:03and that none of the training you're about to see be attempted unless under expert supervision.
00:09Eight braineese, one challenge.
00:12To use complex mass of 100 billion cells we call Brain for chance to win Brain Jitsu Black Brain Belt.
00:19This is Brain Jitsu.
00:22Born in Lancashire, trained in Japan, with mind as sharp as samurai sword,
00:33he is brain master, he is the sensei.
00:37Konnichiwa, and welcome to Brain Jitsu.
00:42Mental training specially designed to boost brain power and focus.
00:47My trainees, or braineese, have been following a basic program of training in the comfort of their own home.
00:54A brain-boosting routine of exercise, sleep, and enough fruit and veg to stock a greengrocer's.
01:02Well, I think I'm going to win the black belt. I'm actually quite nervous.
01:08I feel a bit more confident knowing that I've prepared because I did most of the tasks.
01:11I think there's maths, and I won a prize, so I really think that's going to help me in the dojo,
01:16because I really want to win.
01:18Now my braineese must put their training into practice.
01:21By testing a part of their brain we use every day.
01:24Level one.
01:26You're no fault!
01:28Take a look at my very cluttered garage.
01:31Now, try to find the little rubber duck.
01:34Spotted, eh?
01:35Congratulations!
01:37You've just used your occipital lobes.
01:39This area, the seeing part of our brain, allows us to recognise and separate images from each other.
01:46The seven braineese, who use their occipital lobes the best,
01:49will be allowed to enter my brain jitsu dojo, where their training will continue.
01:54The one who fails will be left outside.
01:58Ho!
01:58Feel the burn.
02:01Enter the dojo!
02:03Ho-braineese must answer four questions by studying the different football team kits on the board in front of them.
02:12Get them right, and they'll be left with a four-digit code,
02:16which they must then use to unlock a piece of brain and secure their place in the dojo.
02:20But with only seven pieces of brain and eight braineese,
02:24one of either Elliot, Cara, Max, Jackie, Oscar, Priscilla, Alex or Ben,
02:30will be left outside and eliminated.
02:35A bang of the gong reveals the four questions.
02:38How many kits have green shorts?
02:46How many have horizontal striped tops?
02:56How many have vertical striped tops?
03:00How many have vertical striped tops?
03:03How many have black shorts?
03:15The answer our braineese are looking for is two, four, seven, seven.
03:22The order in which they unlock their piece of brain
03:24will decide the order our braineese take part in the levels to come.
03:27Jackie is first off her stool, with the rest of her braineese not far behind.
03:40But with no more pieces of brain left, Elliot is having to wait his turn.
03:45And it's Alex who's first to unlock a piece of brain,
03:48quickly followed by Elliot, who's got his chance after all and made it count.
03:52Meanwhile, Jackie, first off her stool, is first to return.
03:58A code clearly wrong.
04:03Don't forget that code is two, four, seven, seven,
04:06as there are two kits with green shorts,
04:08four with horizontal striped tops,
04:11seven with vertical striped tops,
04:13and seven with black shorts.
04:17No problem for Oscar, as he becomes the third braineese to go through.
04:22But holy karaoke, Ben is getting his brain in the right old twist.
04:30Come on, Ben, keep your focus and work those occipital lobes.
04:35With Max now through, Ben finally cracks that combination,
04:39leaving just the girls to battle it out for the last two places in the dojo.
04:45Priscilla and Cara both think they've got the right combination,
04:48but while Cara's lock pops open,
04:51Priscilla has to return to the noodle bar for yet another look at the board.
04:55It's now a two-horse race between her and Jackie.
05:00Jackie taking her time.
05:01And it pays off, which means that Jackie's in and poor old Priscilla is out.
05:12While seven have proven themselves worthy of entering the dojo
05:15and continuing their brain training,
05:18for Priscilla, it's the end of the road.
05:19I think I just got under pressure and I'm not very good under pressure
05:29and I just felt like that I had to go quickly
05:32and I just counted one more than there should have been.
05:37So, with six levels to go,
05:39it's time for Alex, Elliot, Oscar, Max, Ben, Cara and Jackie
05:45to receive their yellow brain belts.
05:47Well, normally I'm really calm,
05:49but this time this pressure really got to me.
05:51It was very worrying when it was just Priscilla and I
05:54because I was really hoping that I wouldn't be the one
05:56to go out in the first round.
05:59Well, I feel really, really happy about coming first.
06:02I'm also a bit nervous about the next game
06:04because if that was only the first level,
06:06I'm a little bit worried.
06:09Rainty-two!
06:11In this next level of training,
06:13things are going to get really hard.
06:15Level two!
06:17What is it about?
06:20We do things every day without even thinking about it,
06:23like using the remote control for the telly.
06:25But try turning up the volume with the hand
06:29that you don't normally use.
06:30Go on, a lot more harder, isn't it?
06:33If you manage to do that,
06:34you're using part of your brain that deals with problem solving,
06:38the frontal lobes.
06:39And that's what level two is all about.
06:43Taking something you normally do without thinking
06:45and doing it differently.
06:47Work it!
06:49To prepare them for using their frontal lobes in the next challenge,
06:52my brainees are going to need some training.
06:54Room of Mental Nourishment
06:57This is the Room of Mental Nourishment,
07:01where our young hopefuls will train their brains between every task.
07:05The more seriously they take their training,
07:06the better prepared they'll be for the challenges that lie ahead.
07:10And in level two,
07:11that challenge is all about getting their brains to think in a new way.
07:16Brain training.
07:17Take turns to call out the action on your cards.
07:19Everyone must do it only when you say,
07:21Sensei says, before the action.
07:23So, our brainees must think about something,
07:27like following a simple instruction,
07:28that they'd normally do without thinking.
07:31Sensei says, rub stomach clockwise.
07:36Right knee up.
07:39Almost immediately, Alex gets his brain in a right old twist.
07:43Ironman, touch right ear.
07:45And he's not the only one whose frontal lobes are struggling to keep up.
07:49Sensei says, touch mouth with right hand.
07:51OK, look happy.
07:56Max!
07:58Max too has also got in a muddle.
08:00Time for a training tip.
08:03Tip.
08:04Don't rush.
08:06Pause for two seconds to think before you react.
08:09Top tip.
08:10You see, spending a moment to think before rushing in
08:12really can improve your all-round focus.
08:15Sensei says, rub stomach clockwise.
08:19So, how will I have a brainees caught this time?
08:22Turn head right.
08:24Sensei says, touch left shoulder.
08:26Hey, there's no fooling this lot.
08:27Sharp as samurai swords they are.
08:29Left knee up.
08:33Sensei says, touch your nose with left hand.
08:35Hang on, didn't you just say left hand, Kara?
08:38No!
08:39I thought so.
08:40It was fun.
08:44It was good training.
08:45But, um, I think the actual task is going to be a lot...
08:49Yeah, a lot harder.
08:51It's going to be a lot harder.
08:53But this was good training for it.
08:55Kara has made quite a lot of mistakes,
08:56but she's probably learnt a lot from them
08:59and she'll go far.
09:01So, will Kara learn from her mistakes?
09:04Or will it be able Alex, who will once again commit on top?
09:07It's time for our brainees to put their training to the test.
09:11Guardian of the dojo and Task Adjudicator the Sheehan
09:15will now demonstrate the level two challenge.
09:18Spell backwards.
09:19Step forward.
09:21To stand chance of gaining Orange Belt,
09:24seven brainees must now think in reverse.
09:27Sheehan will show them picture.
09:29They have to say what is.
09:30That is cut.
09:32Then, the spell word backwards.
09:34T-A-C.
09:36Back.
09:37Get right and our brainees can step forward.
09:41Get wrong and they stay put.
09:43Brainees can choose length of word they want to spell backwards.
09:47Longer word, more time they get to answer.
09:50Three seconds for three-letter word,
09:51up to six seconds for six letters.
09:55More letters, more steps towards destination.
09:58There is slight advantage to going first in challenge,
10:01but order brainees take part is order they completed level one.
10:05Whoever not finished will be eliminated from the dojo.
10:09My brainy tip here is to imagine the whole word
10:12and then break it down into groups of letters.
10:16Who? Who?
10:17Work those frontal lobes.
10:21First to put their brain training to the test is Able Alex,
10:25who immediately goes for the maximum.
10:27Six-letter word, please.
10:29Hammer.
10:31R-E-M-M-E-H.
10:36Oh.
10:37But the gamble doesn't pay off and Alex has to stay put.
10:41Five-letter word, please.
10:44Piano.
10:45O-N-A-I-P.
10:50No such problems for Elliot.
10:53Six-letter word, please.
10:55Like Alex, Oscar's also gone for broke.
10:58A risky strategy.
11:00Candle.
11:01E-L-D-N-A-C.
11:07But it looks like his training has paid off.
11:12Six-letter word, please.
11:15Rocket.
11:16T-E-K-C-E-R.
11:21That's nothing for Max.
11:23Six-letter word, please.
11:26Spider.
11:28R-E-P.
11:33Ben also scores Nix with six.
11:36Six-letter word, please.
11:38It's now the girl's turn, starting with Cara.
11:41Window.
11:41W-O-D-N-I-W.
11:46Jacket also decides to stretch her frontal lobes and goes for the big one.
11:50Six-letter word, please.
11:51Pencil.
11:54L-I-C-N-E-P.
11:58And that's six steps.
12:00It's now back to Alex.
12:01Can he get off the mark this time?
12:05Six-letter word, please.
12:08Badger.
12:09R.
12:11Hurry up, Alex.
12:12E.
12:14Oh dear, you're out of time.
12:15Six-letter word, please.
12:19Anchor.
12:20R-O-H-C-A.
12:23No joy for Elliot either.
12:26Six-letter word.
12:29Rabbit.
12:30T-I-B-B-A-R.
12:34But another six-letter word for Oscar and he becomes the first brainy to go through.
12:39He was soon followed by the two girls.
12:47Which leaves Alex, Elliot, Max and Ben to battle it out for those remaining orange belts.
12:54Three more correct answers and the pressure's now on Ben to get his first score.
12:58Six-letter word, please.
12:59Toilet.
13:03L-O-T-E-L-I-O-T.
13:09Out of time yet again.
13:11The big six-letter word getting the better of our brain ease.
13:16With Elliot and Max now through, Ben will need a miracle if he's to remain in the door jaw.
13:22Four-letter word, please.
13:25Drum.
13:26M-U-R-D.
13:28At last.
13:29But if Alex gets this, then it's going to be sayonara for Ben.
13:33Three-letter word, please.
13:35Box.
13:36X-O-B.
13:40That's it.
13:40It's all over.
13:42While Alex stays in, Ben must hand over his brain belt and leave the dojo.
13:53Walk of eternal regret.
13:56So the brain training was quite easy.
13:58But, and I felt really confident.
14:00Well, I guess I was overconfident when I went to the task.
14:03So with five levels to go, it's time for Alex, Elliot, Oscar, Max, Cara and Jackie to get their orange brain belts.
14:15It's really exciting and I was quite scared.
14:19I thought that I'd get something wrong.
14:21But I, luckily I didn't.
14:24In the brain training, I've done a lot of mistakes, but I've obviously learnt from it because in the task I came second.
14:30It's not easy and this is only the second tasks and there's still many more to go.
14:37So it's going to keep on getting harder and harder and harder.
14:40Who's the clever clogs and whose brain needs a lot more training?
14:52Picture the scene, it's 250 years ago and a lad called Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is only six years old and already playing the Alpsichord, composing amazing music and performing it to the Empress of Austria.
15:05But did he stop there?
15:07No, he did not.
15:08He only went on to write another 600 major works.
15:11Not bad for someone who only lived to the age of 35.
15:13Wolfgang-tastic.
15:16Around the same time, a French writer called Jean-Baptiste Vivienne de Chateaubranne spent 40 years perfecting just two measly plays.
15:23And if that weren't bad enough, just as he's on the point of finishing them, his housekeeper goes and mistakes the manuscripts for wrapping paper and puts the kibosh on his life's work.
15:32Gutted.
15:33Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:40Rain-titu.
15:40Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:41Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:42Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:43Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:44Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:45Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:46Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:47Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:48Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:49Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:50Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:51Rainy Mozart, not-so-rainy Jean-Baptiste.
15:52First to make it into Dojo.
15:54I feel really, really happy about coming first.
15:57Peek Elliot.
15:59Tara, good at spelling backwards.
16:01I've done a lot of mistakes, but I've obviously learnt from it because in the task I came second.
16:06Max, quietly confident.
16:08Jackie, get stronger all time.
16:10I feel a bit more confident knowing that I've prepared because I did most of the tasks.
16:15And Oscar, winner of last level.
16:19Challenge is about to get even tougher.
16:21Only 2 Brady will make final test.
16:24Table of Supreme Forecast.
16:26Where must move a ball with power of mind to win Brain Jitsu Black Brain Belt is time for...
16:33Level 3.
16:35Winz Belt.
16:36Now, we all like to chat, but did you know that using words to communicate is one of the main reasons why our brains have grown so incredibly powerful?
16:46And that having a conversation exercises both halves of the brain.
16:51Now, if all that's doing, you're heading, allow me to explain.
16:56Imagine you're the trumpet player in an orchestra.
17:00Your main focus is on your own notes, but the conductor, well, he has to listen for everyone's notes.
17:06It's the same with the brain.
17:09There's the left half, which deals with the details, and there's the right half, which looks at the overall picture.
17:16This next level of training strengthens my brainies' focus by working one half of their brain under pressure.
17:23Hey, pump it up!
17:25Room of Mental Nourishment.
17:28It's our brainies' second visit to the Room of Mental Nourishment, where once again they'll train for their next challenge,
17:37which, remember, is all about using the two halves of the brain to communicate.
17:43Get into pairs.
17:45Direct the blindfolded brainie to stack the blocks using only one hand.
17:49So, while one brainie uses the right side of their brain to give instructions,
17:55their partner must use the left side of their brain to interpret them.
18:00Put them two facing the same way.
18:04Alex is certainly giving Elliot instructions, lots and lots of them, in fact.
18:08Well done. Now put it next to it. Next to it.
18:11Nope. Nope. The other way. Lengthways.
18:14Lengthways next to it. No. Now.
18:16But they're not making much sense.
18:18And the boys' tower block is struggling to get off the ground floor.
18:21Two more.
18:22Yeah, a bit more to the right.
18:24Move it a bit.
18:25To the right, a bit more.
18:26Here, you see the one on the side of your hand?
18:28Well, you don't see it.
18:29That's not a lot of help, Jackie.
18:31Cara's wearing a blindfold, remember?
18:33Lock.
18:33To the right a bit.
18:35Forward a bit.
18:36Yeah, and now just rest it down lightly.
18:40Carefully does it, Cara.
18:42What our guiders need to do is imagine the information their teammates need,
18:46because good communication means putting yourself in somebody else's shoes.
18:50Yes, that would be that small one.
18:52A little bit.
18:53While I'm not sure the girls' tower would stand up to a strong wind,
18:56it's definitely proof that Jackie and Cara are communicating well.
19:00Nice.
19:01Backwards.
19:02Oh, well, don't mind.
19:04Yeah, I found this training quite easy, so hopefully in the task I'll do quite well.
19:10You didn't say turn it to the left or clockwise.
19:12You just said turn it, so I didn't know which way to turn it.
19:15I thought I was doing okay.
19:17I know I did give you quite a few wrong directions.
19:21It kind of came together.
19:23It really just found anything that we could and tried to, as it were, work with that.
19:29It was not very planned, perhaps, but it worked.
19:34So, will careful Cara be just as careful in the next task?
19:38And will able Alex remember that sometimes it pays to talk less?
19:43It's time to find out, as our six now put the communication train in to the test.
19:48Lantern Whack Number Crack!
19:51This is test of communication skill,
19:54so six brainy must first divide into teams of two by drawing chopsticks.
20:03As quickly as possible, teams must whack open six lanterns containing number that go together to form some.
20:11Pairs first need to decide who is Guider, who is Whacker.
20:14Whackers will be blindfolded and will be relying on Guider to locate lanterns.
20:22When all six are opened, brainy's stop clock by shouting,
20:26Brinjitzu!
20:27Quicker they whack lanterns, more time they have to pick up numbers and work out some.
20:32When brainy's are happy with answer, hit gong!
20:35First two teams to provide correct answer, get green belts and advance to next level.
20:42One brainy from losing team will be eliminated.
20:45The key to success here is for the Guider to use the right side of their brain
20:50to follow their teammates' progress and give them clear instructions.
20:55For their partner, it's vital they use the left side of their brain
20:59to focus on these instructions and nothing else.
21:03Forward, one step.
21:06First to test their communication skills are Elliot and Max.
21:11Whack.
21:13With Guider Elliot working the right side of his brain and Max the left,
21:17the boys get off to a slow but steady stance.
21:21To the left.
21:22Bit more.
21:24Whack.
21:26Forward.
21:27But then they begin to pick up the pace.
21:29A little bit.
21:31Whack.
21:31Whack.
21:33Whack.
21:35Brain Jitsu.
21:37The pair stop the clock in one minute, 12 seconds,
21:40but they'll have to wait to find out how much extra time it's bought them
21:43to make their sum.
21:46OK, go forward a little bit.
21:48Next, it's careful Cara and Abel Alex.
21:50Whack.
21:50In training, Alex was guilty of giving too much information.
21:54Move right a bit.
21:56Right a bit more.
21:57Whack.
21:58Really make the same mistake twice.
22:00Whack a little bit more.
22:03Whack.
22:05Not a bit of it.
22:06With Alex's help, Cara is whacking those lanterns faster than a samurai on skates.
22:11Whack.
22:13Right a bit.
22:14Whack.
22:15Brain Jitsu.
22:17Stopping the clock in a whack-tastic 39 seconds.
22:20Well done.
22:23One step forward.
22:25Right.
22:26Turn it to your right.
22:27Last to go are Oscar and Jackie.
22:30With Oscar doing the guiding, it looks like he's also remembered his training,
22:34giving Jackie clear and precise instructions.
22:36And whack.
22:39Um, forward, about a step.
22:43Um, and whack.
22:46Backwards, about half a step.
22:49Um, left a bit.
22:52Um, whack.
22:54Hey, brain Jitsu.
22:55That's the last lantern, and it's a decent time, just one minute, seven seconds.
23:00But it's nowhere near as quick as Cara and Alex,
23:03and it's they who set off first to find their numbers.
23:07Here's what our brainees are looking for.
23:09Let's see.
23:11See if you can work out the sum.
23:13Remember, the first two teams to work it out will go through to the next level.
23:17Yes.
23:17Cara and Alex are first to bang the gong,
23:23just ahead of Oscar and Jackie,
23:25with Elliot and Max trailing in third.
23:27But do all the numbers add up?
23:31Five times three minus seven equals eight.
23:34That looks okay.
23:35In fact, all our teams have found the right answer.
23:38But as the last to finish,
23:39it's Elliot and Max who'll be battling it out to avoid elimination in the...
23:44Stare off.
23:48With just one green belt up for grabs,
23:51both brainees must use all their powers of focus to fight the urge to blink.
23:55The first to falter will be eliminated.
24:02And it's Max who can resist no longer.
24:06So while Big Elliot is in, Max is out,
24:09and must hand over his orange brain belt to the She-Han.
24:12Walk of eternal regret.
24:19I think our communication was good,
24:21but it was the sum that held us up.
24:23But it still is really set to go out.
24:26So with four levels left,
24:27it's green brain belts for Alex,
24:29Elliot,
24:30Oscar,
24:31Kara,
24:31and Jackie.
24:33I'm really good at staring competition,
24:35so I thought Max is going to go.
24:36I found it hard because my eyes started stinging.
24:39I didn't think,
24:40I can do this,
24:41I can do this.
24:42Now I see that I can go out at any point
24:44during the next tasks.
24:48Brain T2!
24:49Level 4.
24:54Blue Vault!
24:55This fourth level requires our brain ease
24:58to master a primitive part of the brain
25:00called the amygdala,
25:02the area that responds to threat.
25:05Oh, oh, oh, oh.
25:09Remember the last time you felt afraid or panicky?
25:12Maybe it was on a dark night.
25:14Well, that feeling was triggered by the old amygdala.
25:17Stress can make you lose focus.
25:21Fact.
25:22Which is why my brain ease
25:24must train to keep their emotions under control.
25:28Room of Mental Nourishment.
25:34We're back in the Room of Mental Nourishment
25:37and it's time for our five remaining green belt holders
25:39to overcome fear and stay totally focused.
25:43Brain training.
25:45Form a circle,
25:46pass the disgusting drink
25:48around the circle,
25:49only passing it on
25:51when you have said a different word
25:53ending in the letter D.
25:55After one minute,
25:56the brainy holding the drink
25:58has to drink it.
26:00But drink what?
26:01Well,
26:02how about a nice glass of cheesy Stilton juice?
26:05Abel Alex kicks things off.
26:07Mud.
26:11Sound.
26:11And for some reason,
26:13most of our brain ease
26:14can't resist a quick sniff.
26:17Mud.
26:20Dad.
26:21There's no need to smell it a second time, Alex.
26:23Blood.
26:26Backward.
26:28Ooh, a long pause from Jackie
26:29is her amygdala gaining the upper hand.
26:32Drinked.
26:33And as the clock counts down,
26:35the pace starts to quicken.
26:38Stalked.
26:39Past.
26:40There's the gong
26:42and it's Jackie
26:43who has to down
26:44the gruesome gloop.
26:52Time for a training tip.
26:56Concentrate.
26:57Try to blank out the time
26:59in fear of the drink
27:00to avoid panicking.
27:01Do we have to do it again?
27:03I'm not thirsty anymore.
27:04I've had enough.
27:05Nice try, Jackie.
27:06Just remember the tip
27:07and you'll be fine.
27:08You see, focusing only
27:10on the task in hand
27:10is a useful tip
27:11in almost any situation
27:13in which you feel nervous.
27:15The calmer you are,
27:16the better you'll perform.
27:18Round two.
27:19I'll go first.
27:21Had.
27:24Bad.
27:25And once again,
27:26Alex can't resist a sniff.
27:28Cord.
27:28Anyone would think
27:29he likes the smell.
27:30Cord.
27:32Baked.
27:34Stabbed.
27:35Told.
27:36Armed with their tip,
27:38our brainies
27:39begin to pass
27:40that drink round
27:40faster than
27:41a Japanese bullet train.
27:43Murdered.
27:45Stab.
27:48There's the second gong,
27:50but who's been left
27:51holding the cup of yoke?
27:53I think both of you
27:54should have some.
28:00Oh, that stinks.
28:01I don't know how
28:10I'm going to cope.
28:11This was very
28:12nerve-wracking for me.
28:14I think you killed me.
28:16Will Abel Alex
28:17come back to life
28:18in time for the next task?
28:20And will Oscar's nerves
28:21have got over
28:22the shock of his training?
28:23It's time to find out
28:25as our five
28:25are now challenged
28:26to overcome their fears
28:27once again.
28:29Creepy, crawly,
28:30word grab.
28:32This level
28:33will test of mind
28:34over matter
28:35for brainies
28:35and will push them
28:37to really overcome
28:37their fear.
28:39Underneath the creepy crawlies
28:40lie an assortment
28:41of letters
28:41worth different points.
28:43Brainies have just
28:44one minute
28:45to plunge hands
28:45into tank
28:46and pick out
28:47up to seven letters
28:48each.
28:49They then have
28:50a further minute
28:51to make higher
28:52scoring words
28:53they can.
28:55To do well,
28:57my brainies
28:57must block out
28:58the signals
28:59coming from
29:00their amygdala
29:00and ignore
29:01the creepy crawlies.
29:03The quicker
29:03they combat
29:04their fear
29:04the more time
29:05they'll have
29:06to pick out
29:06the high scoring
29:07letters.
29:11Underneath this
29:12pile of cockroaches
29:13are an extra
29:13five golden letters.
29:15If our brainies
29:16manage to use
29:17one in their word
29:17they'll double
29:18their score.
29:22There's the gong.
29:23But instead of
29:25diving in like
29:26the others
29:26it looks like
29:27Oscar's
29:27completely forgotten
29:28his training
29:29frightened to put
29:30his hand
29:30anywhere near
29:31the tank.
29:33No problems
29:33for Jackie
29:34though
29:34who's remembered
29:35to ignore
29:36the cockroaches
29:36and focus
29:37just on
29:38finding those
29:38letters.
29:40Alex also
29:40looks to have
29:41his amygdala
29:41under control.
29:42The minute's up.
29:50Our brainies
29:51now have a
29:51further minute
29:52to make the
29:52highest scoring
29:53word they can
29:54from their letters.
29:55Abel Alex
29:56has found
29:56one golden
29:57letter.
29:58If he can
29:58just make a
29:59word he'll
29:59double his
30:00score.
30:01But Oscar's
30:02board is a
30:02consonant free
30:03zone.
30:04He'll be lucky
30:04if he makes
30:05any sort of
30:05score with
30:05that lot.
30:07See if you
30:08can make a
30:08word from
30:09the anagram
30:09at the bottom
30:10of the screen.
30:12There's the
30:22last gong.
30:23How have
30:23our green
30:24belt holders
30:25done?
30:27Fear.
30:28I'd say
30:29you showed
30:29no fear
30:30son.
30:31With that
30:31golden A
30:32in his word
30:32it's a
30:33big fat
30:3314 points
30:34for Abel
30:34Alex.
30:36Boa.
30:37A quick
30:38check in
30:38the dictionary
30:38and that's
30:39five points
30:40for Big
30:40Elliot.
30:42A.
30:42With only
30:43those vowels
30:44to choose
30:44from that's
30:45just one
30:45point for
30:46Oscar.
30:48Lied.
30:49Five points
30:50for careful
30:50Kara.
30:52Fry.
30:54And a
30:54healthy ten
30:55points for
30:55Jackie.
30:57And so
30:58by only
30:59scoring a
30:59single point
31:00it's Oscar
31:01who must
31:01hand over
31:01his brain
31:02belt and
31:03leave the
31:03dojo.
31:04walk of
31:08eternal
31:09regret.
31:11The brain
31:12training
31:12helped me
31:12a bit
31:13but when
31:15it came
31:15to the
31:15creepy
31:16hollies
31:16they were
31:16horrible
31:17and I
31:18couldn't
31:18quite get
31:18my hand
31:19in there
31:19and things
31:19were going
31:20quite fast
31:21and I
31:22couldn't.
31:24They were
31:25so revolting.
31:26So with
31:30only three
31:30levels left
31:31those who
31:31use the
31:32craniums
31:32to conquer
31:33the
31:33cockroaches
31:34are rewarded
31:34with their
31:35blue belts.
31:37Feeling
31:37kind of
31:38surprised that
31:39I got in
31:39because I
31:39didn't think
31:40I could face
31:41those bugs.
31:42I prepared
31:43myself for
31:43the worst
31:44and the
31:46worst never
31:46came.
31:47I did my
31:47best and
31:48I came out
31:49on top.
31:49At one
31:50point when
31:50I was dusting
31:51off the
31:51sand and
31:52I was
31:52picking up
31:52a letter
31:53a bug
31:54actually ran
31:54up my
31:54hand and
31:55I went
31:55and then
31:57it kind
31:57of fell
31:58off again
31:58but I
31:59still got
31:59the letter.
32:02Brain
32:02T2.
32:06Brainy
32:06not so
32:07brainy.
32:09Who's the
32:10clever clogs
32:10and whose
32:11brain needs
32:11a lot more
32:12training.
32:13First up
32:13astronauts.
32:15This
32:15exclusive group
32:16is made up
32:16by some of
32:17the brightest
32:17bods on
32:18earth.
32:18In 1969
32:19astronaut
32:20Neil Armstrong
32:21stepped onto
32:22the moon
32:22uttering the
32:23immortal words
32:23one small
32:24step for
32:25man,
32:25one giant
32:26leap for
32:26mankind.
32:27I wonder
32:28if that was
32:28off the top
32:28of his head.
32:29Here's another
32:30group.
32:30Now not
32:31McFly.
32:31Oi, get
32:32your hair cut.
32:33This lot.
32:34Now they
32:35may not believe
32:36the moon is
32:36made of cheese
32:37but they do
32:38believe in
32:38rolling down
32:39a steep slug
32:40to win some.
32:40ee them
32:41that's
32:42gout of
32:42hurt.
32:43Brainy
32:43astronauts.
32:44Not so
32:45brainy.
32:46Cheese rolling
32:46chumps.
32:49Brain
32:50jitsu.
32:53Tension in
32:54brain jitsu
32:54dojo
32:55mounting.
32:56As now,
32:56just four
32:57young hopeful
32:57remain to
32:58compete under
32:59what's
32:59fly of
33:00she hand.
33:02Abel
33:02Alex,
33:03winner three
33:03out of four
33:04level.
33:04I think
33:05I'm going
33:06to win
33:06the black
33:07belt.
33:07I'm actually
33:09quite nervous.
33:11Big Elliot
33:11steady throughout.
33:13Jackie.
33:14A bug
33:14actually ran
33:15up my
33:15hand and
33:16I went
33:16whoa.
33:17And careful
33:18Kara,
33:18always positive.
33:20In the
33:20brain training
33:21I've done
33:22a lot of
33:22mistakes but
33:23I've obviously
33:24learnt from
33:24it because
33:24in the
33:24task I
33:25came
33:25second.
33:26Only two
33:28brainy will
33:29make final
33:29test.
33:30Table of
33:30supreme
33:31focus.
33:32Where?
33:32Must move
33:33ball with
33:33power of
33:34mind.
33:35Brain
33:35jitsu
33:35black
33:36brain
33:36belt is
33:37within
33:37the
33:37grasp.
33:38It's
33:38time
33:38for...
33:40Level
33:41five.
33:42Red
33:42bolt.
33:44Now,
33:45if you've
33:46just taken
33:47up competitive
33:47bog snorkelling
33:49then you might
33:49be interested
33:50to know that
33:50your new
33:51hobby is
33:52doing wonders
33:52for the
33:53old grey
33:53matter.
33:54Exercising
33:55both the
33:55thinking part
33:56of the
33:56brain,
33:57the
33:57cerebrum
33:58and the
33:59doing part,
34:00the
34:00cerebellum.
34:01You see,
34:02doing new
34:02things increases
34:03the flow of
34:04blood into
34:05your head which
34:06keeps your
34:06brain cells
34:07topped up with
34:08the oxygen
34:08they need to
34:09perform at
34:10their best.
34:11So, in
34:12level five my
34:13brainees are
34:14going to be
34:14challenged to
34:15learn new
34:16skills.
34:16Now, you
34:17can speed up
34:18how quickly the
34:19brain takes in
34:20new stuff and
34:21this is what our
34:22brainees are
34:23going to train
34:23for now.
34:24Room of
34:26Mental
34:26Nourishment
34:27It's our
34:31brainees'
34:32fourth visit to
34:32the Room of
34:33Mental
34:33Nourishment
34:33where they'll
34:34be training
34:35their brains
34:35in how to
34:36learn new
34:36skills.
34:39Brain
34:40training.
34:41Spin the
34:41drumstick
34:41between your
34:42fingers for as
34:43long as
34:43possible.
34:44I play drums,
34:45I might be
34:45able to do
34:45that.
34:46I've
34:46practised a
34:47bit.
34:48Sounds like
34:48someone's got
34:49an advantage.
34:50Why do you
34:51need to spin a
34:51drumstick?
34:52When's it
34:52going to
34:52help you
34:52in life?
34:53It's a fair
34:54question, but
34:55what our
34:55brainees have
34:56to remember is
34:57that if they
34:57follow their
34:58training, it'll
34:58help them in
34:59the next task.
35:01Why are we
35:01just sitting
35:02here?
35:02Why don't we
35:02just get on
35:03with it, get
35:03it over with?
35:08Not a good
35:08start.
35:10Well, look at it
35:10this way, Alex,
35:11you can only get
35:12better.
35:13Wait, look,
35:13look, look.
35:14What's this?
35:15What's this?
35:16I can, I can
35:17pop it.
35:18Very good,
35:19Elliot, even
35:19for a drummer.
35:23But while Big
35:24Elliot is
35:24twirling his
35:25drumstick faster
35:25than noodles
35:26round a chopstick,
35:27Abel Alex has
35:28found a new
35:28method.
35:30I don't know.
35:31Time for a
35:31training tip.
35:34Approach this
35:34positively.
35:37Laugh out
35:37loud for 30
35:38seconds.
35:41Cue the
35:42laughter tape.
35:43It might seem
35:47weird, but the
35:48next time you
35:48face a mental
35:49challenge, try
35:50laughing as
35:50well.
35:51Not only can it
35:52help with confidence,
35:53but it also
35:53increases your
35:54heart rate, sending
35:55more oxygen into
35:56your brain, helping
35:57it to perform at
35:58its best.
36:02Not that you'd
36:03necessarily know it
36:04from this lot.
36:05I think it might be
36:06hip erasing.
36:07I know the task is a
36:08new skill, but I've
36:09done a lot of weird
36:10things, so it might not
36:11be that new to me.
36:12I've never hippo
36:13raced before.
36:15So will Big
36:16Elliot's talent for
36:16twirling give him an
36:17edge in the next task?
36:19And will Abel Alex
36:21come to regret not
36:22taking his training a
36:23bit more seriously?
36:24Only time will tell,
36:26as our four now put
36:27their latest brain
36:28training to the
36:28test.
36:31Chop, chop,
36:32don't drop!
36:34To win the red
36:35brain belt,
36:36brainies must remain
36:37mentally confident as
36:38they learn new
36:39physical skill.
36:40remaining four must
36:41keep ball in airflow and
36:43guide it along obstacle
36:45course, through hoops and
36:47into basket.
36:48It is race against
36:49clock, but brainies must
36:50remain confident.
36:52There is five second
36:53penalty every time ball
36:54drops.
36:55Brainy with slowest time
36:56will be eliminated.
36:59The tip for my
37:00brainies in this next
37:01task is to remain calm
37:04and think positive
37:05thoughts.
37:06Giving in to
37:07frustration will only
37:08lessen their focus and
37:10slow them up.
37:16So, can our brainies stay
37:18positive or will they let
37:19the pressure get to them?
37:21First to go with the flow
37:22is Abel Alex, who
37:24immediately runs into a
37:25spot of bother.
37:26Not the most focused
37:28during training, can he keep
37:29it together now.
37:36Little by little, Alex's
37:37confidence starts to grow.
37:43Nicely through the slalom, and
37:46that's a strong finish.
37:47Next up is Big Elliot, looking
37:52as cool as a kimono in a
37:54heatwave.
37:56And despite a little lapse in
37:58concentration there, this looks
38:00to me like a brainy who's got
38:02both the thinking part and the
38:03doing part of his brain to work
38:05in perfect harmony.
38:06A slam dunk of the basket, and
38:14Big Elliot finishes with a
38:15flourish.
38:20It's now careful Cara's turn, but
38:22no matter how careful she's
38:24trying to be, Cara just can't get
38:26going, that ball refusing to do
38:28as it's told.
38:30Come on, Cara, stay
38:31confident.
38:32That's better.
38:42And a basket in one stops the
38:44clock, but will her slow start
38:46have cost a deer?
38:49Finally, it's Jackie's turn, who
38:51sets off like a bullet train, only
38:53to come unstuck.
38:57Eventually, though, her training
38:58kicks in, gently does it through
39:00the slalom, and now all that
39:02stands between gentle Jackie, and
39:04that gong is the basket.
39:09But, oh, no, a ball appears to
39:11have a mind of its own.
39:12Come on, girl.
39:16Oh, yes, get in.
39:19So, which brainy flowed too
39:22slow?
39:24With five time penalties, Alex
39:25completed the course in one minute,
39:2719 seconds.
39:31With just one penalty to add on,
39:33Big Elliot finished in a quick fire,
39:3548 seconds.
39:39With six time penalties,
39:41careful Cara stopped the clock in
39:43one minute, 25.
39:47While gentle Jackie, despite picking up
39:50four penalties, got round in one minute,
39:5113.
39:54Which means that it's careful
39:55Cara, who's eliminated,
39:57and must now leave the dojo.
40:06Walk of eternal regret.
40:09After the brain training, I wasn't sure
40:12how I was going to do in the task,
40:13because I did find the brain training
40:15a little bit difficult.
40:17I'm feeling very upset,
40:19because to go, to be like
40:21one of the last four,
40:22and then to lose,
40:23it's really hard.
40:28So, with just two levels left,
40:30that leaves Alex, Elliot,
40:32and Jackie to stand tall in red.
40:34I'm really proud of myself,
40:36because no one else got under a minute,
40:38so I think I'm going really strong
40:40in the task,
40:41so it gave me confidence.
40:42Now I think I can make it
40:44all the way to the black belt
40:45and win.
40:45I think now that I've got this far,
40:47I'll probably be going out
40:49in the next round.
40:50I just pulled through by a hair,
40:53so I'm lucky,
40:55and I think I did okay,
40:57and I'm going to try my best
40:58for the next tasks to come.
41:02Rain T2!
41:04It's this level which will decide
41:11which two of my remaining brainies
41:14will go on to battle it out
41:16for the black belt.
41:19Now, imagine you're in your school play.
41:21As well as lines to remember
41:23and moving around on stage,
41:25there's also the audience watching you.
41:27It's remembering stuff under pressure like this
41:30that level six is all about.
41:32It centres around three areas of the brain.
41:37The seeing part, the occipital lobes,
41:40the memory part, the temporal lobes,
41:42and the movement part, the cerebellum.
41:46To the max!
41:47Room of Mental Nourishment.
41:54Our three surviving brainies
41:56are back in the Room of Mental Nourishment
41:58for a bit of memory training.
42:02Memorise the sequence of objects.
42:05I suck at memory stuff.
42:06I like memory stuff.
42:07It should be hard.
42:09I can't scream...
42:09Hey, Elliot, in Brain Jitsu,
42:11there's no such word as can't.
42:13I can't remember stuff.
42:14I can't remember stuff.
42:15I can't remember stuff.
42:17I'm not surprised, Alex,
42:18if that's your approach.
42:20Well, I can go first if you want.
42:24Cabbage.
42:24Croc.
42:25Hammer.
42:26Eiffel Camel with weird eyeball-y thing.
42:29Monster arm.
42:31Glasses.
42:32Duck.
42:33Frog on toilet.
42:35Gnome with fried egg.
42:36Messed out a few.
42:37Wow.
42:38Oh, right, yeah.
42:40Not bad for someone
42:41who can't remember stuff.
42:43Time for a brain tip.
42:45Tip.
42:46Create a story
42:47linking the objects together.
42:49We started at the...
42:50Memory tests like this
42:51are a great way of training your brain.
42:53Why not create a story
42:55to memorise all your classmates
42:56in alphabetical order?
42:58Erm, rang the doorbell.
43:00And then a big floating monster arm
43:02came and dropped...
43:03Reached down.
43:04The fog was in the toilet
43:05cos the rat was the fog's son.
43:08It went to the toilet.
43:09Yes.
43:09And a croc came and ate it.
43:11Yeah.
43:12Then cabbages took over the world.
43:13Yeah.
43:14So, er, who's gonna go first?
43:16I'll go first.
43:17I don't mind.
43:17Anne, you can go first.
43:18Okay, so Gnome with fried egg.
43:21And then the rat
43:22tried to get it off.
43:24So he went and got some bananas.
43:26Then, I think, a wizard.
43:28He rang the doorbell
43:29and the giant chicken followed him in.
43:31And then he caught his head
43:33in some giant scissors.
43:35He went to the bathroom
43:36but a frog was on the toilet
43:37and the rat said,
43:39go get the bananas
43:40from my wife, the duck.
43:43The duck was in the garden
43:44with sunglasses on her head.
43:47Then a giant monster arm
43:48and dropped the Eiffel Tower
43:50with her eye on it.
43:51Then a giant hammer
43:52smushed the eyeball.
43:54A croc came and ate it
43:56and then cabbages took over the world.
43:57Yay!
43:58Yay!
43:58Wow!
43:59I'm guessing it will be a memory task.
44:01And if it is,
44:02I'm guessing that we'll probably have limited time.
44:05So I think I'll try and make a story,
44:08but I'll try and make it a bit shorter.
44:10Elliot might be just a teeny, teeny bit better than Jackie,
44:13but I think you're pretty much even.
44:15Well, I guess we'll see what happens then, Alex, yeah?
44:18Because it's all down to the task.
44:21So can Gentle Jackie take her impressive form
44:24back into the dojo?
44:25Or will it be the boys who come out on top?
44:28Only time will tell
44:29as her final three put their memory train into the test
44:32for one of two brown brain belts
44:34and a place on the table of supreme focus.
44:38Super Memory Dizzy Dash
44:41Each brainie is spun around on Dizzy Wheel
44:45a total of ten times.
44:46Their task to use all their power of focus
44:49to memorize five images in front of them.
44:53Then race against clock to cross-balancing beam
44:56and collect same five images
44:58from ten hanging above them.
45:02Then must arrange images in reverse order.
45:07When they are happy with their selection,
45:09a hit of gun, stopped clock.
45:15My tip for the brainies
45:17is to keep focused on the main objective
45:19and use their training
45:21to link the five images together.
45:26So, our final three brave the Dizzy Wheel
45:28to compete for their brown brain belt
45:30and a place on the table of supreme focus.
45:33Hey, time to spin.
45:39Will their memory training help them to remember the images
45:41and ignore the effects of being spun round
45:43like clams on a carousel?
45:48First to wobble off is Abel Alex.
45:52This really is the ultimate test of memory for our brainies
45:55as they fight their dizziness
45:57to pick out the five images they saw on the wheel
45:59arranging them in reverse order.
46:01But Alex has found a blue balloon from somewhere
46:05earning him a five-second penalty.
46:13It's now a race against the clock
46:14to get the cards in the right order.
46:16There's the gun,
46:32but has Alex's mistake cost him a place
46:34in the final showdown?
46:37Next up is Big Elliot.
46:40And like a rocket-powered rickshaw,
46:42he wastes no time at all
46:43in plucking out those images.
46:45That's five.
46:51Now all Elliot has to do
46:53is arrange them in the right order.
47:04There's the gong,
47:05and that looks like full marks.
47:10Last but not least is Gentle Jackie.
47:12Now she remembered her training
47:13and lodged those five images in her memory.
47:24It might not be speedy,
47:26but it's accurate.
47:26And there's the gong.
47:36Time for the results.
47:41With that one penalty to add to his time
47:44of one minute four seconds,
47:45Abel Alex finished in one minute nine.
47:48With no penalties to his name,
47:51Big Elliot rang his gong in a rapid 48 seconds.
47:55And with no penalties either,
47:57Gentle Jackie timed out in one minute two seconds.
48:02Which means that Elliot and Jackie remain
48:04and Abel Alex goes out.
48:06Walk of eternal regret.
48:15I think it went wrong
48:17because I remembered a balloon instead of a bee.
48:20But even without that mistake,
48:22I still would have been three seconds later.
48:24If I was just a bit quicker,
48:26I could have made it,
48:27but I didn't.
48:28So with only one level to go,
48:35that leaves just Big Elliot
48:36and Gentle Jackie
48:38to don their brown brain belts
48:39and prepare for the final showdown.
48:42Yay!
48:43I'm through.
48:44I can't believe I...
48:45Because at the very beginning,
48:46in the very first round,
48:47I was almost out
48:48when it was Priscilla and I head to head.
48:51And now I'm one away from winning.
48:53I'm happy now
48:54because Alex is out
48:55because I thought he was my only competition.
48:59And now,
49:00because I think I've been doing better than Jackie,
49:02I think I can win the black belt.
49:04And I'm really excited now.
49:08Brain Jitsu!
49:11Eight young hopeful
49:13arrived at Brain Training Dojo
49:14to fight it out
49:15for Brain Jitsu Black Brain Belt.
49:18As challenges get tougher,
49:20Brainy get fewer.
49:22Some lack concentration.
49:23Others,
49:24mental agility.
49:27One by one,
49:28they've been eliminated.
49:29Now,
49:30just two remain.
49:32Big Elliot,
49:33riding high after two win in row.
49:35I'm really proud of myself
49:36because no one else got under a minute.
49:39Now I think I can make it
49:40all the way to the black belt and win.
49:42And Gentle Jackie,
49:43most consistent Brainy.
49:45I feel a bit more confident
49:46knowing that I've prepared
49:47because I did most of the tasks.
49:49But who will use Brain Training
49:51to the max
49:52to win final challenge?
49:53level seven,
49:56Black Belt!
49:58So,
49:59this is it.
50:01Between my two remaining Brainy's
50:03and the Black Belt
50:04stands Brain Jitsu's
50:06ultimate challenge.
50:07A mental duel
50:08that is head to head
50:10in every sense.
50:12The battlefield?
50:13A table.
50:14But not just any table.
50:16For this,
50:16my friends,
50:17is the table
50:18of supreme focus.
50:19where our two Brainy's
50:21will attempt to move a ball
50:23across the table
50:24using only
50:25the power of their mind.
50:28By getting this far,
50:29they've already demonstrated
50:30mental control
50:31under many different types
50:33of pressure.
50:34But now,
50:35they must learn to focus
50:36their minds
50:36by entering a state
50:38of total calm.
50:40To prepare them,
50:41my two finalists
50:42will need to get into
50:43the zone.
50:45Room of Mental Nourishment.
50:47In this,
50:51their final visit
50:52to the Room of Mental Nourishment,
50:53our two remaining Brainy's
50:55are about to train
50:56in how to stay focused
50:57no matter what's happening
50:59around them.
51:02Mentally prepare yourself
51:03for the final task.
51:05Don't let the sounds
51:06put you off.
51:09So,
51:09our two finalists
51:10must block out the noise
51:11and concentrate only
51:13on keeping their focus.
51:14while Jackie
51:17doesn't seem bothered
51:19by the sound
51:19of a dentist's drill,
51:21Elliot's not looking
51:21quite so comfortable.
51:26Ow.
51:27In fact,
51:28Jackie's so relaxed,
51:29she almost nods off.
51:32Well, after a while,
51:33I was fine with it.
51:34I just laid down
51:35and listened to the sounds.
51:36I find it better
51:37without them,
51:38but with them,
51:38it's okay.
51:40Sometimes,
51:41when I hear, like,
51:42white noise like that,
51:43sometimes it hypnotises
51:44me.
51:45Strange.
51:46Really strange.
51:47Yeah.
51:48Time for a training tip.
51:49Tip.
51:50Repeat three positive
51:52statements to yourself.
51:56I'm going to beat Elliot.
51:58I'm not scared of the dentist.
52:00I've gotten this far
52:01so I can go another round.
52:02I'm going to win.
52:04And there's a good chance
52:05of me winning.
52:06I know I'm going to beat Elliot,
52:09hopefully,
52:10but I just didn't know
52:12what way to put that
52:13so he wouldn't be crushed.
52:14Well, I won't be crushed
52:16when I beat you.
52:16I think you're the one
52:17who's going to be crushed.
52:19So, can Big Elliot
52:20avoid being crushed
52:21on the table of Supreme Focus?
52:23Or will gentle Jackie
52:24mentally nod off
52:25and allow him
52:26to grab the prize?
52:27Let's find out.
52:28Table of Supreme Focus.
52:37Rules are simple.
52:38Each brainy must push ball
52:40to the opponent's end of table
52:41using only power of mind.
52:44Sensors in brainy's headbands
52:46measure brainwaves.
52:48This is converted
52:48into electrical signal
52:50which moves ball.
52:52More focused mind,
52:53stronger signal,
52:55and faster ball will travel.
52:56See how brainy's
52:58are doing
52:59on this readout.
53:01Two lines represent
53:02each player's brainwaves.
53:03Lower the line,
53:05more concentrated
53:06their mind.
53:14To make sure
53:15this is the test
53:15of all tests,
53:16our brainy's
53:17must win
53:17the best of three rounds.
53:22So,
53:22this is the big one.
53:23Our two finalists
53:25must use
53:25all their brain training
53:26to enter their
53:27zone of absolute focus
53:29if they are to succeed.
53:31This
53:31is the reason
53:32they came to the dojo.
53:34This
53:34is the moment
53:35they've been training for.
53:41And it's Jackie
53:42who's off
53:43to the better start.
53:44You can see
53:45from the low black line
53:46on the readout
53:47that she's just
53:48got the mental edge
53:49over her opponent.
53:50And even though
53:57Elliot's now
53:58beginning to slow
53:58the ball down,
54:00it's not enough
54:01to stop Jackie
54:01taking the lead.
54:04One nil.
54:07Big Elliot
54:08now faces
54:08an uphill battle.
54:10Will he remember
54:10his training
54:11and find his focus?
54:12The pressure's
54:13really on.
54:14Round two.
54:15Elliot's now
54:21using a different
54:21tactic,
54:22looking directly
54:23at the ball
54:23instead of his opponent.
54:28But again,
54:29the black line
54:30on the readout
54:31shows that
54:31Jackie's just
54:32too strong
54:33for him.
54:33Little by little
54:44she's inching
54:45that ball
54:45towards Elliot
54:46who's powerless
54:47to stop her.
54:52It's all over
54:53and it's Jackie
54:54who's emerged
54:55triumphant.
54:56In an epic
54:57battle of
54:57concentration
54:58and focus,
54:59her training
54:59has paid off.
55:01Gentle Jackie
55:01truly has proved
55:02herself
55:03to be a
55:03master of the
55:04mind
55:04and worthy
55:05winner
55:06of the
55:06Brain Jitsu
55:07Black Belt.
55:08Winning the
55:08Black Belt
55:09means loads
55:10to me
55:10because I
55:11honestly
55:11never thought
55:13I would get
55:13it when I
55:14came.
55:16But glory
55:17for one
55:17brings disappointment
55:18for another
55:19and although
55:20he fought
55:20valiantly,
55:21Big Elliot
55:22must now
55:23leave the
55:23dojo.
55:26War of
55:27Eternal
55:28Regret.
55:30I'm feeling
55:30crushed
55:31because I
55:32got so far
55:33and I
55:34got into
55:35the final
55:35but to
55:36fail
55:36right at
55:37the last
55:37minute
55:38it feels
55:38really bad.
55:40Jackie,
55:40I think she
55:41did deserve
55:41the win.
55:46For Jackie,
55:47her journey
55:48to mental
55:48mastery is
55:49over.
55:50Up against
55:50the toughest
55:51of competitors
55:52in Big Elliot,
55:53she refused
55:54to give way.
55:55When it
55:56really mattered,
55:57it was gentle
55:57Jackie who was
55:58able to call
55:59all her
55:59training and
56:00grab that
56:01black brain
56:02belt.
56:02Yay!
56:03Yay!
56:05I just
56:06sat there
56:07and I
56:07tried to
56:07be very
56:08calm,
56:09very relaxed.
56:10I just
56:10breathed in
56:11and I
56:11breathed out
56:12very heavily
56:12and then I
56:13noticed that
56:14that moved
56:15the ball quite a
56:15bit so I
56:16kept doing
56:16that.
56:17And it
56:17really worked
56:20and I was
56:20just really
56:21glad that I
56:22won both
56:22rounds.
56:23Our journey
56:24has come to
56:24an end.
56:25Another
56:26brainy has
56:26proven themselves
56:27worthy to
56:28wear the
56:28brain jitsu
56:29black belt.
56:31But while
56:31brain jitsu
56:32might represent
56:33the most
56:34extreme form
56:35of brain
56:35training,
56:36its philosophy
56:37can be
56:37shared by
56:38all.
56:40Each and
56:40every one of
56:41you has it
56:42in your power
56:42to grow your
56:43mind.
56:44All it
56:45takes is
56:46dedication
56:46and practice.
56:48This has
56:49been...
56:50Brain Jitsu!
