Sport is for all and the Special Olympics Association of Trinidad and Tobago is on the hunt for more athletes this year. In addition, they are also seeking financial support from kind individuals or businesses who are able to partly fund their participation in sporting events like a 5k. Special Olympics Coach Claudia Francis says it's in line with their objective of inclusion.

00:00Well, Sport is for All and the Special Olympics Association of TNT is on the hunt for more athletes this year.
00:07In addition, they are also seeking financial support from kind individuals or businesses
00:12who are able to partly fund their participation in sporting events like a 5K.
00:18Special Olympics coach Claudia Francis says it's aligned with their objective of inclusion.
00:23So this year we're looking for anybody who's interested, you know, in giving our Special Olympics athletes a chance
00:32to be a part of some of the 5K races that it has available to show that, yes, we can be a part of this inclusion
00:42within Trinidad and Tobago where our athletes with a special disability or a special need
00:50can also take part in 5K races.
00:54She indicated they already take part in several different events
00:57and they continue to grow their athlete base in different sports.
01:02We focus right now, we want inclusion, right?
01:05And it has a lot of events that is taking place at previous throughout Trinidad and Tobago
01:12where inclusion is taking place, right?
01:16For instance, we had a unified basketball game just before Christmas.
01:25We had floorball, Special Olympics national games and floorball.
