Transcript
00:00The fourth annual University of Trinidad and Tobago Aerobathon is set for the 26th of April, Balmain Coover.
00:07First prize is set at $3,000 and there's over $15,000 in prizes.
00:12This time, organizers wanted to be more competitive.
00:15They have a few other categories including a junior event and an over 40 age group challenge as well.
00:22The first three events, we allowed an open participation and we did include aerobics instructors as participants and hence the
00:33standard was really, really high.
00:35But of course, the instructors were the winners.
00:38So this year we decided that we're going to make a change and allow the wider community to participate.
00:47People like Diane and Stacey will be participating with the expectation of winning.
00:52So there are more expectation from the wider enthusiasts in aerobics.
00:59They also intended to partner with the Weightlifting Association.
01:03Head of Marketing at KFC and Pizza Hut says they are looking forward to partnering with UTT.
01:09Whether it's cricket, football, aerobics, we have partnered with KFC Clock Road which is under the cricket platform.
01:17We have partnered with Samo Jablote which is under the football platform.
01:22We're truly excited, particularly this event happening one week later than our inaugural 5K which was extremely exciting for us.
01:32It was our first attempt at hosting an event like that and it was extremely successful.
01:38And it also went beyond, I mean, UTT coming on board and being a part of that event as well.
01:45And what about the Olympic Committee? How deep is their interest in the event?
01:49Some of the qualities of Olympism we see in aerobics that, you know, development of that friendship, the groups coming
01:57out, the families, about the friendship and sportsmanship.
02:02And so we see the values of Olympism through the sport.
02:06So we're very happy to be there.
02:09So why would UTT choose an aerobathon?
02:11The event is not just about participating in terms of wanting to win a prize at the aerobathon.
02:18But those who are fitness enthusiasts, those who are persons interested in healthy lifestyles, come out.
02:25You will get education.
02:26You will be informed from a research perspective as to what is the best practice for you to improve in
02:33your fitness level,
02:34for you to improve in your movement activities, for you to get the best out of a healthy lifestyle practice.
02:39This time around, they are hoping to attract at least 200 participants.
02:43So they're due to the poor, TP6 port.
