00:00Good morning. There'll be more sunshine throughout today and it should stay dry as well, so plenty of good weather to be getting out and about in.
00:08However, there's still a pretty chilly wind with high pressure dominating the winds coming in from the north, bringing that chilly feel to eastern parts of northern England in particular,
00:16but also quite a strong breeze across southwestern areas of England too. Risk of showers here, but elsewhere it should stay dry through much of the day
00:23and there will be more in the way of sunshine, particularly this afternoon. And with any sheltered sunshine, it's not going to feel too bad.
00:31Temperature's around six or seven degrees at best. It's about average for the time of year, but whereas a pretty cold start across parts of Scotland,
00:38temperatures will struggle to get above zero in some sheltered glens. As we head into Tuesday evening, those clearer skies become even more widespread,
00:46so it's going to be a colder night tonight than recently with a widespread, quite sharp frost expected to develop as we head into New Year's Eve.
00:56So wherever you are, you will likely see a frost that's away from just the far southeast of England where we continue to see a bit of a breeze
01:03and a little bit more in the way of clouds. So a cold but very sunny start to the last day of 2025.
01:11And there will be plenty of sunshine to come as well throughout Wednesday, particularly across parts of England and Wales.
01:18As we look further north towards Scotland, a westerly wind starts to move in, bringing more in the way of cloud,
01:24stronger winds and a risk of some rain and potentially some snow over the highest ground.
01:30So more cloud moving into northwestern areas, plenty of sunshine across England and Wales,
01:34but temperatures really struggling, just around four or five degrees quite widely, so just below average in fact.
01:40But actually, it's going to be a slightly milder day despite that wind and cloud across parts of Scotland.
01:45So still a pretty chilly feel through the rest of this week, but it does turn even colder as we head into 2026.
01:51There is, in fact, a risk of snow over the highest ground.
