00:00Good morning. More sunshine to come for eastern areas of the country today.
00:04But across the west it's going to be a bit of a wet and windy afternoon as an area of low pressures moved in overnight.
00:10We've got a wind warning in force for parts of West Wales as well as southwestern England.
00:14Gusts up to 65 miles per hour are possible.
00:18Some areas still recovering from Storm Goretti. We are expecting a few impacts from the winds.
00:23Across eastern areas though you'll notice very little in the way of rain.
00:26Actually some sunny spells through this afternoon so certainly a brighter day than yesterday will be a warmer day as well.
00:33Still pretty breezy though across eastern areas. A southerly wind though so a relatively mild direction.
00:40It stays dry into this evening across many eastern areas but overnight this band of rain will push ever further northwards.
00:47Pushing into parts of southwestern Scotland as well as northern Ireland seeing some outbreaks of heavy rain.
00:51Clearer spell for a time for more central areas overnight.
00:55Still fairly brisk winds though and a lot of cloud around so a very limited frost once again.
01:01A little bit cooler than last night but as I said relatively frost free for most of us.
01:07Now as we head into Wednesday the focus turns to rain.
01:11As outbreaks of rain will continue to move up from the south through the day.
01:15There'll be some drier slots in between but I think most of us can expect some wet weather through the day on Wednesday.
01:22But it's particularly across eastern Scotland where we'll start to see rainfall totals building up.
01:27Could see some snow as well above three or four hundred metres by Wednesday afternoon as well.
01:32We've got a rain warning in force for these areas.
01:35Southeasterly winds as well bring the added risk of large waves and it's a fairly unusual direction for the rainfall to come in.
01:42Elsewhere still a fairly breezy afternoon as I said quite wet as well.
01:46Temperatures around eight or nine degrees quite widely.
01:49It's around average if not a little bit above.
01:53And into Wednesday evening the rain continues across west eastern areas of Scotland.
01:58As I said we've got this rainfall warning from Wednesday all the way through until Friday at this stage.
02:02By the end of Friday we could see as much as 120 millimetres of rain building up over the highest ground.
02:09And with the added risk of snow in here as well we're expecting some disruption from the heavy rain as well as possibly some quite large waves.
02:17So please stay tuned to the forecast if you're in those areas.
02:20But for the time being across the east please enjoy the dry weather and I'll see you again soon.
