00:16Hey, you guys, welcome back to the places. Once again, this is your host, Renegamer.

00:21And today, I'm gonna be doing a quick anime review.

00:24Alright, this time I'm gonna be reviewing another of these, um, I'd say, Slice of Life.

00:32Partly adventures, in a way.

00:34Um, this time I'm gonna be talking about this anime called Nolwin.

00:38I think I probably-

00:40Okay, I don't know exactly if you pronounce it, but it's very strong and simple named Nolwin.

00:45Okay, now, this anime, it's another piloted one season stuff.

00:51Although the manga does have much more to go on.

00:53But I'm gonna be reviewing the anime itself.

00:56Alright, so I'll start off with what this is about.

01:00This is basically about agriculture farming.

01:04Just the shortest way to simplify it, right?

01:07What happens is you have this famous idol, um, Yuka Kaskusakabi.

01:14Uh, I think I mispronounced that as well, but she's like one of these famous girl, teen idols, whatever.

01:23She's from the big city, the entertainment business.

01:26She's retired from her genre and come out to live down in the agriculture side and learn to do something else.

01:35What happens here is that this all, like, shooks all of her fans.

01:41But her biggest fan, Kota Kosaku Hata, he is the main character in the show, right?

01:48They gave you a brief introduction to him.

01:51He's like her biggest simp in a way.

01:54He is just all into her.

01:57And it starts off showing you him, him reacting to her retirement.

02:03And he's going crazy and all this other stuff.

02:05Uh, they started to set up the plot here.

02:09She came because she realized she makes all these cool, uh, you know, stuff.

02:15She sends a lot of mail and a lot of these food, right?

02:19Very good quality, uh, vegetables and such.

02:23Uh, it sort of, like, gave her the idea of when they come here and find out more about it and such.

02:30This is where they start to introduce all the other characters and some of, you know, Kosaku friends.

02:36Particularly another girl named Minori Nakazawa.

02:40She's, like, Kosaku's childhood friend.

02:43They grew up together as friends and whatnot.

02:46And she ends up, like, being, like, a parent to him in a way.

02:50So she has to be overprotective or whatever in some cases.

02:55Then there's also the family who wants her to marry him and all that other stuff.

03:01And then there's that whole plot line.

03:04They also have this next character called Ki Kamatori.

03:08This is another friend of Kosaku.

03:11He is so, like, the nerd-ish geekers in the group.

03:15Pretty well.

03:16He is very technical and stuff.

03:20He is also the son of this guy who's, like, a big, um, company businessman.

03:27And they also give you a little bit of a backstory to him and his father in that sense.

03:32You know, so it's cool.

03:34You get to see these characters, their backstories.

03:36Then there's this next one called Kosho Yoshida.

03:39She majors in the animal side of the farm, right?

03:45She tends to have a crush on Ki, you know, because of, like, his personality.

03:52It's kind of weird between them.

03:54And I think she probably has some personality source because she's, like, back and forth with how she behaves and such.

04:01And then there's other characters as well.

04:04The teacher.

04:06They done something pretty weird with the teacher for the school that they were in.

04:12If I were to describe this character, I would say that she...

04:17If you remember Tolomovu, that if you had the principal in that school, this teacher's girl is pretty much the equivalent of that.

04:30Right?

04:31She's, like, the female version of that principal.

04:33And it's so bizarre because you don't really see, you know, a female character being written in this sort of way.

04:41Especially how she was acting it.

04:44If you thought the pink hair girl was, you know, sort of, like, unbalanced.

04:49This one is, like, that times a thousand.

04:53And it's so bizarre, but it's actually kind of sad, right?

04:56Because, you know, she's 40, I believe.

04:59But she looks like she's about 18, 17.

05:03You know, she looks like a very small girl.

05:07Even though she's really old.

05:09And she's single.

05:11So you know how that is, right?

05:13That's on the play of them single woman over 40.

05:16So when it comes to the whole storyline, it's pretty much a straightforward, nothing too big or grand.

05:23It's, like, simple.

05:24It's, like, these students, young adults working on this farm, going to farm school, starting agriculture.

05:30And you get to see, shoot these guys how it works in the farming industry.

05:37How it works, supplies and everything like that.

05:40There's nothing, like, too in-depth.

05:42There was, like, pretty much, like, base stuff that they're showing you.

05:46Because, you know, you still want to make it entertaining, right?

05:49You don't want to make it too boring with all the technical stuff.

05:52So I'd say they're a good job in not over explaining everything.

05:55They just keep it face value.

05:58And stick on entertaining the viewers.

06:01The other thing I want to point out, too, is that the characters in the anime, they're okay for the most part.

06:07Although, some of them seem to have a bit of, like, inconsistency, like the one I mentioned earlier.

06:12The pink hair one.

06:14Like, she's back and forth with her personality.

06:17I know there's a type of description for that type of character.

06:21But I just felt that, in the way it was used here, it just came off a bit imbalanced, in my opinion.

06:28The other characters, Kosaku and her best friend.

06:33They have a lot going on in between them.

06:36But at first, it's all, like, brushed up as them being friends.

06:41And she's being jealous of him because this girl comes in and he's, like, majorly in love with her.

06:48And all this stuff is happening, like, sort of like a clash in between them.

06:52You know, that sort of thing, like a love triangle.

06:55But not really a love triangle, but sort of a love triangle going on between them.

06:59It felt like they shoehorn in an unnecessary piece towards the end of the anime.

07:06You know, when you go into the final tour of it.

07:08You have Minori's family grabbing him up.

07:13And they wanted to make him marry her.

07:16And it sort of, like, pushed back on the whole storytelling away.

07:23Because you had him.

07:25They're setting up him.

07:27Right?

07:28Kosaku and Ringo, right?

07:30He was a major crush on her.

07:33And they're using the majority of the plot.

07:35But she knew him and her building up each other.

07:39Relationship.

07:40Getting to know each other and all that stuff.

07:42So, even though I know Minori's, like, his childhood friend.

07:48It felt kind of out of place how it was in a third act with the shoehorn in the marriage stuff.

07:54But I will say, though.

07:55I did appreciate, you know, how they had Minori's character change up a little bit.

08:03I think she was probably the most entertaining character of the bunch in my opinion.

08:07I didn't really like Ringo that much.

08:10She was, you know, her personality is that of the, you know, low energy type.

08:16Characters, pretty dull and such.

08:21And I'm really into that.

08:22But Minori actually, pretty good.

08:25But overall, the storyline, I think, if I were to sum this up.

08:29I'd say it started off really good.

08:32And it was going places.

08:34It actually went quite good with the places in the middle section.

08:37Where the characters are doing different stuff.

08:39And they interact with each other.

08:41And you see them having to solve these different situations.

08:44It was pretty cool.

08:45It's just not down to the ending where, you know, they have that third act.

08:49And the whole marriage, love triangle stuff between them and Kosaru.

08:54It just didn't feel like it was necessary, in my opinion.

08:58I mean, I did get the whole reasoning about it.

09:01Although I will say that Minori's family background, it sounds like one big stereotype, in my opinion.

09:10You know, the whole low IQ, redneck types.

09:15That's pretty much what they were alluding to her side of the family.

09:18Outside of that, I'd say it was good story-wise.

09:22The animation, though, I'd say it's pretty average.

09:26It's not that good.

09:29It was not that bad either.

09:31The soundtrack was actually pretty okay.

09:34Nothing to brag about.

09:37The voice acting, fair.

09:40You know, it wasn't anything that special or outstanding.

09:45Right?

09:46So, on the technical side of this, it's...

09:48It's fear.

09:49You know, I'd say it's like middle of the world, average.

09:52See, that period sums up my whole thoughts on the anime overall.

09:56You know, I'm a good anime.

09:58You know, I'm...

09:59It's...

10:00Nothing to really take to home about looking that big and serious, though.

10:05But it's...

10:06It's for a good laugh and good giggle.

10:08If you want something to have a good time with, you can probably watch this song.

10:13So, that pretty much sums up my review overall.

10:16No win.

10:17Very good anime.

10:18You know, a good time to watch.

10:20If you're looking for something just to be madly entertained with.

10:24Nothing to really take home or take too seriously.

10:27Just your...

10:28Another of your average schedule of programming, in my opinion.

10:34Um...

10:35If you want more of the story to see where this, you know, adventure goes with these characters.

10:43You'd have to check out the manga.

10:46I see that the manga has more story in it.

10:49Um...

10:50I probably might do a review on the manga later down to see if it's really that good.

10:57Because this is only like a pilot season thing.

11:00It was only one season.

11:01There's no indication that it's going to get a continuation from what I've seen.

11:06So...

11:07This pilot season 12 episodes is about as good as you can get for this.

11:11And...

11:12From my perspective, as an anime viewer.

11:15I was entertained.

11:17So, I had enjoyment of this.

11:20But that is my opinion on this, guys.
