In a new series of videos I will make some anti-corruption progress reports on major Birmingham, Alabama healthcare provider UAB (University Of Alabama Birmingham). This comes 6 months following their $450m USD buyout of Ascension's St. Vincent's hospitals in the area. With this acquisition comes an opportunity to rebrand and wash away debts and transgressions Ascension / St. Vincent's incurred against local patient's / customers in the area without facing accountability.
Today I will examine Community Health Clinic Christ Health Center. More than 2 years following a recorded telephone conversation with their attorney & compliance officer Deborah Pickens I have yet to receive a letter by postal mail detailing the findings of their internal investigation into my case.
Meanwhile, the clinic continues to expand, routinely soliciting new employees via ads posted to the internet. In June, 2006 a new Pediatric clinic has opened near the new YMCA at Northeast Community YMCA 628 Red Lane Road Birmingham, AL 35215 (205.833.7616).
I also read some new reviews. Patients to both the Woodlawn & Chalkville clinics report customer service issues which ended in Christ Health hanging up the phone on them. This backs up my own experience, I was put on hold 15 minutes waiting for a MRI referral from their Woodlawn clinic and NP Anna Musgraves in 2019 at American Health Imaging. My call was hung up on and attempts to reconnect were unsuccessful. I have strong evidence (WATCH MY VIDEOS) Christ Health's partners St. Vincent's Hospital (Ascension / NOW UAB) (Birmingham Radiological Group / Vulcan Imaging Associates) misdiagnosed me intentionally across multiple MRI / CT and X-Rays in 2018 / 2019. Broken skull bone and infection showed up in ALL of those various scans. None of the medical professionals in my case would correct their errors or stand behind me as their patient.
My recorded phone calls to Christ Health CEO Dr. Robert Record MD can be heard in this video. As a patient & customer I found myself subjected to common health care fraud schemes including "PHANTOM BILLING" & "UPCODING" in 2019 visits at their Woodlawn & Old Springville Road clinics. I have scanned in my original medical records and share my story. Partner Ascension St. Vincent's was recently rebranded to UAB St. Vincent's. Dr. Terry Daniel Smith (aka: T. Daniel Smith, aka: Terry D. Smith) went on to work for Andrews Sports Medicine and was last connected to the UAB Medicine St. Vincent's Trussville location off Happy Hollow Road (I encountered many separate scams dealing with health providers in this building / address (see my other videos))
1 Year On: a letter I was told by their lawyer would be sent to me after a scheduled August, 2023 board meeting never arrived (August 2024, 1 year later). She refused to help me correct a laundry list of service and negligence issues in my visit.
00:00All right, as always, you can go to YouTube channel My Medical Nightmare and see 40 plus hours video on everything that happened to you.
00:09All right, six months have passed since University of Alabama at Birmingham UAB reportedly closed a $450 million U.S. deal to acquire five Birmingham, Alabama area hospitals from healthcare provider Ascension.
00:29St. Vincent's and Ascension, during their tenure and partnership, used many criminally corrupt and ethically bankrupt partners, doctors, and medical personnel.
00:41As a six-month's own, I thought I would take a look at some of the parties which are still extant and doing business with the new UAB St. Vincent's entity.
00:54You may be surprised at who is out there thriving that UAB continues to empower and send massive amounts of business and monetary rewards to.
01:09Maybe you will not be very surprised.
01:11All right, September 2025 updates on Negligent Community Health Clinic Christ Health Center.
01:18The first issue, and this basically underlines everything else that you're going to hear and see in this video.
01:26In a recorded telephone conversation with Christ Health attorney Deborah Pickens, August 2023,
01:33She made an obligation that my issues would go before their board and the results of their discussion on what happened to me would be outlined in a postal mail letter that would arrive at my mailbox.
01:50Two years later, as of August 2025, I never received this letter and this says a lot about the word of Deborah Pickens.
01:59I'm not exactly an expert at all the buzzwords applied to these scams.
02:05Upcoding and phantom billing.
02:08These are two common healthcare scams that I was apparently a party to as a patient and customer.
02:16And this involved Birmingham, Alabama area community health clinic, the Christ Health Center.
02:23They were affiliated with Ascension St. Vincent's Hospital, recently rebranded UAB St. Vincent's.
02:31The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI website describes these scams on its healthcare fraud page.
02:40Phantom billing.
02:41Billing for a service visit or supplies that the patient never received.
02:46And upcoding.
02:47Billing for a more expensive service than the patient actually received.
02:51The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services rate both of these scams on the upper level of their scale.
03:00Very serious.
03:02I attempted to contact Christ Health CEO Dr. Robert Record several times over the last five years.
03:09Finally got him on the telephone in 2023.
03:13And I put these claims to him.
03:16I'll include our exchange in this video.
03:20And you can hear in other videos on my channel where he told me he was going to refer me to someone in their organization that was going to help me.
03:31He did not disclose the fact.
03:33And I only found out later that this person, Deborah Pickens, was an attorney.
03:38And she told me that they were going to do nothing about correcting this stuff and that I needed to seek legal representation myself.
03:46I also took my issues to the state of Alabama, Board of Medical Examiners and Medical Licensure Commission in the form of complaints.
03:56I filed a complaint against both Dr. Terry Daniel Smith, MD, and nurse practitioner Anna Musgraves.
04:05The state of Alabama would not do anything to help me with these, despite the fact that the documentation that I supplied with these was rock solid.
04:15You can see it here in the video.
04:17It's their own paperwork, the bills, and the doctors and nurses' own notes.
04:22These are part of my medical records.
04:24Interestingly, in a post dated March 26th of this year, UAB basically reaffirmed its relationship with Christ Health Center in a post.
04:37And it reads,
04:38Family and community medicine welcomes new residents to programs across central Alabama.
04:45For thousands of medical students across the country, four years of hard work culminated into two words,
04:50you matched as these aspiring physicians discovered where they will continue their journey in medicine.
04:57Our faculty and staff poured their time into teaching, mentoring, and supporting.
05:00Here's seeing students as they gain clinical expertise, learn about research, volunteer their time at community clinics,
05:07and explore what it means to be a family physician.
05:10This dedication to cultivating the next generation of primary care physicians is truly appreciated
05:15and makes a huge impact in the health care of our state.
05:18The Department of Family and Community Medicine will be welcoming 33 future residents,
05:23including eight UAB Hirsink School of Medicine students,
05:27who matched the Cahaba UAB Family Medicine Residency,
05:31UAB Selma Family Medicine Residency,
05:34and newly branded UAB St. Vincent's East Family Medicine Residency programs.
05:39The UAB St. Vincent's East Family Medicine program at Christ Health Center
05:44is delighted to welcome eight new talented and aspiring family physicians into our residency family.
05:53Christ Health Center continued its expansion throughout the summer,
05:57and in June, their new pediatric clinic opened near the YMCA in Roebuck.
06:04And the address of this is Northeast Youth Center, 628 Red Lane Road, Birmingham, Alabama, 35215.
06:13And there they offer pediatric care for children living in low- to moderate-income households,
06:20health and wellness education, and access to diagnostic equipment, dental care, and pharmacy.
06:26Also, there's some new patient customer reviews out on Christ Health,
